PS and Typekit

I just purchased Creative Cloud and am trying to get setup.   I have downloaded PS and want to download the additional fonts via typekit.   I thought these were free once you purchased Creative Cloud.   Has anyone downloaded the additional fonts from Typekit?
Thank you

Hi roxiemb2002,
Thanks for your interest in Typekit. Your Creative Cloud subscription includes a Typekit Portfolio plan at no additional cost. This plan gives you access to all of the fonts in the Typekit library for both web and desktop use:
https://typekit.com/fonts
This help page shows how to choose a font on the Typekit website and sync it to your computer:

  • How do i install business catalyst and typekit with creative cloud if they don't show up?

I just recently signed up for creative cloud and learned about muse.  I would like to take advantage of the business catalyst and typekit, but when i open my application manager, neither are available for download.  Am I missing something here?  are they built into the other program downloads?  I'm confused–please help.

    Am I missing something here?
Yes, you are. They are merely services built into Dreamweaver, Edge and Muse and accessible via the respective BC and CSS panels in those programs.

  • Edge Animate and typekit

    Hi,
Can anyone help me please with this.
I followed the video tutorial but couldn't add the font from typekit. It would show the new font as an available, but the look didn’t change.
    Best,
    Lana
P.S. I did try to contact the adobe chat and phone support  but was told that the Edge Animate and typekit are only supported via forum

    Hi Lana_Studio,
You most likely need to add "127.0.0.1" to the list of allowed domains on your kit in Typekit.
See these articles for more information:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/edge/2012/01/27/web-fonts-and-edge-together-at-last/
(Scroll down to "How to Embed Web Fonts Using Typekit")
    http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/6857-using-typekit-while-developing-local ly
Don't forget to publish your kit after adding 127.0.0.1. Also, note that it may take a few minutes (I noted up to about 15 minutes) before the changes to your kit will be completely published.

  • File sync returns and Typekit font sync now available!

File sync within the Creative Cloud desktop app is back!  And font sync is now available for the first time.
Looks like it is rolling out gradually. You can register at http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/file-and-typekit-font-sync-rolling-out/
And here's an email I received about it:

That is correct.  This functionality is being rolled out incrementally - that is, some folks will receive access to this first (in fact, some already have it now), and others will be added as soon as we can.
If you have not received an email similar to the one above, and you want to get early access to these functions, follow the link on the Creative Cloud Team Blog to sign up for the program.  Details are there.

  • Payment and Typekit

I'm paying for the full package of Adobe CC monthly. I want to use type kit for fonts.
Type kit says I have to pay or I can use one kit for free. I thought If I paid for the

Is This true, and is there a customer service number to call?

  • Saving and Typekit errors?

    Hi,
I've just uploaded Reflow and started to try out some very basic layouts.
However, pretty much every time I try to save or save as the program simply shuts down, followed by the unexprected error message. In addition when I try to use and of the Typekit fonts none of them appear to work in my layout?
    Has anyone had similar issues?
    Thanks
    Spencer

    Hi Spencer,
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble using Typekit in Reflow.  Did you remember to add "localhost" to the domain listing in your kit?  This is required for the Typekit fonts to show up in the Reflow project.
To add domains, go to http://typekit.com and launch your Kit Editor. Click Kit Settings in the upper right corner and add your domain to the domains field, then save your settings. When you're done, republish your kit.  The fonts will be available within a few minutes of republishing.
The "Using Typekit Fonts with Reflow" blog post shows how to make this edit as well.
If you have the domain listing and still see problems with the fonts loading, please send the kit ID that you are using and I'll take a look.  Thanks!

  • Muse and Typekit without Business Catalyst

Hello! I've been watching this useful video (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-muse/working-with-typekit-fonts/eng/) but I have a dobut. I'd like to know if Typekit works correctly if I don't use Adobe Business Catalyst to upload my website and I use another server to host my website.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lucía.

You can use your own server to host websites with typekit fonts. The only thing that requires BC hosting is the use of their form features.

  • Problem using different Adobe accounts for CC and Typekit

I've had a Typekit account for some time and just recently signed up for CC. Both my Typekit and CC accounts use different Adobe IDs. I then linked my Typekit account to my CC account to enable font syncing, only to discover afterwards that apparently this is a thing you should not do.
Now when I log in to Typekit, all of my previous sets are gone and it acts like I'm a brand new Typekit user. Is it possible to unlink my accounts and get all of my sets back like I had before?

    Hi Eric,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  Would you please email us at [email protected] with your Adobe ID and the email address that you use for Typekit?
Most likely you have set up a new account as part of your Creative Cloud subscription, and the kits are still there under you previous email.  We will take a look and let you know what needs to happen to get this sorted out!
    Thank you,

  • Muse and typekit

    Hi all
I have a subscrption for CC
I use Typekit to integrate "special" fonts in my sites Muse
This service is great but I ask the following question:
What will happen if I decide not to take the Adobe CC subscription anymore ?
Is that all  my existing websites Muse keep these fonts or all of the Typekit fonts used for sites already in place will be replaced by other font ?
    If yes, what other fonts?
This could be a problem for people who use Typekit. Would we all have to keep subscription to keep good visualizations fonts on existing sites?
    Thank you and very soon
PS : Sorry for my bad english. my mother tong is french

    Zak Williamson (Adobe) a écrit:
If you haven't done anything with code to use the fonts you're using, then you don't need to worry about the availability of the fonts changing when your subscription expires.
    Hello Zak and Liz
Sorry, but my english is not very good and I don't understand very well your last sentence
Does it means that if I use Typekit fonts, and I don't copy/paste code, fonts will be available even if my subscription expire ?
I'm non professionel, just passionate with drawing style and I'm a beginner with typekit which is very great
When I use typekit font, I only add this font, select the word and apply the font. I never use copy/paste code.
Do I do something wrong ?
    Thanks

  • DPS and Typekit

    Hi,
is it possible to use fonts from typekit in Adobe DPS? If there is a way, how does it work and do i have to use the creative cloud for it?
    Thanks,
    Max

    Hi Max,
There are now two ways to use Typekit, on your websites and on your desktop in apps like Photoshop or Word.
You might have seen our announcement about Typekit desktop font sync: http://blog.typekit.com/2013/08/08/sign-up-for-early-access-to-desktop-font-sync/
You can read a bit more about this here: http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1189216#faq
    Excerpt:
"Will I be able to use Typekit desktop fonts in PDFs?"
"Yes, desktop fonts from Typekit will be licensed for embedding in PDFs and other electronic documents, such as EPUB and Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite (DPS)."
So, you can use the new sync fonts feature to create DPS files. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any further questions.
    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hello,
I ask this question from France (I'm not sure that every countries have the same problem):
Since the beginning of Adobe CC, when I clic on the cloud or on the typekit button from the toolbar, it's written that the service isn't available for the moment and will be ready in a short time.
I would like to know when we can use these services!

  • Muse CC and TypeKit

I'm fairly new to Muse. I'm by no means a web guy, but Muse has set me up with the ability to offer clients SO MUCH MORE of my abilities.
I've been trying to scan this form for the last couple days to learn more about TypeKits integration with the Muse CC coming out June 17th. One of the main websites we are seeing to show example of the new Muse CC is http://www.thewildisles.com/kayak-snorkel-tour.html This page is plastered with proxima nova.
The main branding of the company that I work for uses the Gotham typeface. The closes thing to that in TypeKit is Proxima Nova. Will Muse CC have a way to access this typeface without converting it to a picture?

Proxima Nova is not included in the set of web fonts available in Muse by default, but you can add it to your website if you have a Typekit subscription.  Proxima Nova is available in the Portfolio plan or higher levels: https://typekit.com/plans
The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface: http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website.
(Note that the fonts you add from Typekit won't show up in the Muse preview; you'll have to publish the site to a localhost or development server in order to view them.)
I hope that this helps.  If you have any other questions, you can also get in touch with Typekit Support at [email protected]

  • How do I get sync to work again with Typekit and Creative Cloud?

I have been using my CC apps with Typekit and it was syncing fine. Now for that last few days I am getting a sync error message. More info is useless—blames lack of an internet connection which is not accurate.  I've turned sync off and on, remove and readied the fonts from type kit. Closed out and logged back in to CC app. Nothing is working. I have two DSL lines both of which are working and have tried it connected to each in turn. Still cannot sync.
I am now online with Adobe phone support after a 2-hr wait for the call back. Just told my story again. On hold. Now they tell me Adobe can't do anything other than read the same troubleshooting docs that Typekit has on their site (which I've already done). This alliance only works if Adobe and Typekit work together. I've already emailed twice and tweeted to Typekit and gotten ZERO response. I was pretty emphatic with the guy in Adobe tech support and he said he would escalate it to the India "Dream Team." Hopefully they will be more dream than nightmare.

    Hello,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Typekit Support did not recieve your email, and didn't realize you were waiting for a reply. I do apologize for that.
Would you please send your recent log files to [email protected] so that we can take a look?  I've included the instructions below. It sounds like there may be a problem with your computer reaching the Creative Cloud servers, and the logs will have more information.
Please let me know when you have sent that email, so that we can watch for it.  Thank you,

    On OS X:
    * Open the Finder
    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal:
    cd $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
    On Windows:
    C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
Attach the recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • Typekit and Font Management : Still a bit confused

I am still a little confused as to how the new Creative Cloud TypeKit works and how it will or will not effect our workflow.
We currently use Extensis Universal Type Server (UTS). We have a team membership license for Creative Cloud. Does TypeKit interject itself before fonts are loaded from UTS?
If fonts are downloaded to the desktop from TypeKit do I need to copy these into UTS? Should my users mix and match fonts acquired with UTS and TypeKit or maintain the status with UTS? Can you disable TypeKit if this is the case? How can we resolve conflicts with fonts if UTS and TypeKit are running?
Do we need to purchase fonts now that with TypeKit the claim is all fonts from Adobe are free with CC membership? How does this interact with UTS?
Does Adobe still sell fonts if TypeKit being part of the CC subscription implies the complete catalog is free?
How are font licensing issues handled with TypeKit? In the past, font licensing was a big concern in publishing and still very confusing as to use and purchasing.
I have been trying to get a firm understanding of the use and rights of fonts throughout my career and with TypeKit it puts many of my past understandings into perplexity.
Thank you for any answers towards my questions.

I received an email response from and Adobe Rep:
Let me see if I can clear things up here:
    > 1. We currently use Extensis Universal Type Server (UTS). We have a team membership license for Creative Cloud. Does TypeKit interject itself before fonts are loaded from UTS?
A: Unfortunately, I don't have the details here. However, Extensis announced that Typekit can work along side UTS: http://blog.extensis.com/font-management/universal-type-server-now-supports-use-typekit-de sktop-fonts.php
Typekit doesn't install the fonts the same way you would install a perpetual license. I hope that article helps clarify specific questions.
    > 2. If fonts are downloaded to the desktop from TypeKit do I need to copy these into UTS? Should my users mix and match fonts acquired with UTS andTypeKit or maintain the status with UTS? Can you disable TypeKit if this is the case? How can we resolve conflicts with fonts if UTS and TypeKit are running?
A: UTS and Typekit should be able to work at the same time. However, you won't be able to add Typekit fonts to UTS. Each CC Team user would need to sync the fonts from Typekit that they wish to use.
    > 3. Do we need to purchase fonts now that with TypeKit the claim is all fonts from Adobe are free with CC membership? How does this interact with UTS?
A: If the font you need is in Typekit and you have a Portfolio Plan (through Creative Cloud Teams or otherwise) you get access to that font. So, you can sync it from Typekit and use it in desktop apps. If a font isn't available on Typekit, you would need to purchase a perpetual license for the team and add it to UTS like you have with other fonts.
    > 4. Does Adobe still sell fonts if TypeKit being part of the CC subscription implies the complete catalog is free?
A: Currently, you can still purchase perpetual licenses to Adobe owned fonts as well as some other fonts that they resell. However, the Adobe owned fonts and many other commercial fonts are available with a Typekit subscription. Access to Typekit isn't really free. You're paying for it when you pay for Creative Cloud. It's just that Typekit doesn't cost you anything extra since it's included.
    > 5. How are font licensing issues handled with TypeKit? In the past, font licensing was a big concern in publishing and still very confusing as to use and purchasing.
A: This article is a good place to start: http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1341590-typekit-font-licensing
If you have specific questions about licensing or use cases, feel free to ask.I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Sync files service and Adobe Typekit not working (coming soon message)

    Hello there,
About a month ago I started as a new member of Creative Cloud, the apps are working fine, but I still get the "comming soon" message for the "File Sync" service and the Adobe Typekit. When am I going to be able to use these features? Is there something I have to do to "enable" it?
    Thanks!
