PS CC – Brush size in Liquify filter
Hello, who can help me? Since I have Photoshop installed CC works there the possibility to change the brush size by pressing the ctrl + alt key especially in the Liquify filter anymore. Anyone know the problem? The same problem I have with the zoom function. In PS 6 I was able to press the alt + space key and while moving the mouse in the image in or out back. also that no longer works?

Resize brush in the liquify filter, photoshop cs6 Mac (13.0.4)
Hello,
I just update to photoshop cs6 (Mac 13.0.4). Unfortunately, it's not possible anymore to resize brush in the liquify filter by "CTRL-Option-drag" like I did before in former CS6 version.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ?

Why is Liquify Brush Size so Out of Proportion?
When I choose the Liquify option from the Filter menu, the Liquify tool opens and I have access to the custom set of Liquify tools. Unlike almost any other tool where you select a brush size, the Liquify tool requires you to modify the position of a slider rather than selecting the brush size dynamically by right-clicking.
The problem is that the brush size selector control goes from 0 to 15,000px diameter. In order to make effective use of a 15,000 pixel liquify push tool, you'd have to have a really large image. Perhaps there is a case where someone at some time used a 15,000 px diameter nudge brush in the Liquify tool, but in my nearly 20 years of using Photoshop, I have never come across the need for a brush that large.
Regardless, because the selector uses a linear scale, it is really difficult to select a small brush size (say less than 100px) without manually incrementing the slider.
I would really like to see Adobe standardize the tool size/preset selector so that it is always available via the context menu (or equivalent) and that an option exists to enable relative slider values or percentage slider values in incremental selectors like brush size. Percentages could be setup where 100% was the largest side of the current image and then brush sizes could be selected via percentage of your image (of course converting to pixels, but the scale would be percentage-based). Even an exponential scale that favored the smaller values would be helpful. Or perhaps, movable caps that would allow you to set your own Max and Min values....that would rock.
Are there are any plugins that solve this problem? Anybody have any advice on how I might be able to select more appropriately scaled brushes in the Liquify tool when I am working with images where a 15,000 pixel brush head is unreasonable.

The problem isn't that there aren't enough ways to change the size fo the cursor, it's the relative scale of the cursor. I have two 37" Dell Ultra monitors on my desktop and to use the Alt-Right click method of resizing the brush (even on a 7500 pixel wide document at 300 dpi), I have to drag from one side of my dual monitor setup across 60 inches (whatever the horizontal width of a 37" monitor x2) about 50 times to get the brush to a size that I can actually see the outline of it.
Then, once I can see the outline of the Nudge Tool (in the Liquify tools), if I drag about 3 pixels, the visible outline of the brush wildly jumps from full-screen to tiny. It's because the scale of the brush size selector is a mess. 95% of the sizes in the selector are bigger than the piece that I am working on. Does that make sense? Why would you be able to select a tool size bigger than your document? Furthermore why would you want 95% of the available tool sizes to be unusable? It doesn't make any sense at all.
Thanks for the short reminder on brush size manipulation in general. I was surprised to see it work in the Liquify tool--though it didn't solve the issue.

Why not enable left click brush resizing in liquify tool?
I'm not sure if it can be changed, but, I've never understood why all the menus to change the brush size can only be accessed from te side of the screen.
You can Alt/Opt right click and drag to resize the tool brush sizes in Liquify. It works really well and is very fast.

Liquify brush size increment sluggish with CS3, Intuos 3/window 7
Hi
I have encountered a strange problem with liquify filter using Intuos 3 tablet pen after installing CS3 on my new Window 7 machine.
I always assign the shortcut keystrokes [ and ] to the pen buttons for increaseing/decreaseing the brush size. In my old Vista computer,everything was all good, the brush size changes continously and quickly when i press the buttons. But now the brush size only changes an increment by 1 pixel (should be 10 pixels?) by clicking it once and it no longer increases or decreases the brush size continously by holding the button.
I thought it was Wacom drivers problems but i un-installed and re-installed their latest and oldest drivers and the problem remains. I wonder if it is CS3 glitch with Window 7? I have installed all Adobe updates for CS3. I would be very grateful to any advice.It is Intuos driver problem. I downloaded the old Vista tablet driver to run on the Window 7 and problem solved.

Photoshop Liquify Brush Size increase/decrease with alt+crtl drag don't work anymore...

I have installed the last Update to Photoshop CS6 13.0.4...
Now I can't increase/decrease the Brush Size in the Liquify-Dialog anymore (before I installed the update, it works fine with alt+crtl and drag)...
If I press alt+crtl, the "Cancel"-Button is shown as "Revert", but the Brush resizing don't work... :-/
I use a Mac on OS X 10.6.8...
But it seems it has to do with the system... beacause at home I use 10.8.3 and there works everything fine with the 13.0.4 Update!!!Files has been uploaded here:

In my system the liquify brush size goes from 1 to 151 to 301 to 454 and on up.
It it not possible to get smaller brushes like 30 60 100?

Since you PM'd me and asked nicely, I'll respond, but I really can't take any more of this public experimentation with the forum software.
The Liquify brush size does jump in huge increments if you try to change the size by moving the slider with the mouse - probably because they changed the max brush size to 15,000 pixels.
The increments it changes by are much smaller (by 2, not 1) if you use the up and down arrow keys to change the size.
And of course you can type anything you want into the field.
But possibly now the best way to use the tool is to use the right-click and drag gesture, which is now the same as when editing in the main Photoshop display.

Opening liquify filter and try to increase or decrease the brush doesn't work at all. Seems the keystrokes in the liquify filter are different (and unknown?!) to increase & decrease the brush size but WHY?Solution found:

I use the "Liquify" filter a lot, and I've always wanted to be have the mouse wheel adjust brush size.
(I'm not that keen on using the left-right bracket to adjust brush size.)

Q. BarrieI'm not sure, but with the OpenGL features enabled you can use a couple of combinatorial gestures to change brush size, and it gives you very fine control:
Hold down the Alt key and click the right mouse button down on your image. While holding it down, if you drag the mouse left, your brush will get smaller, and if you drag right it will get larger. Drag it up to make it softer, down to make it harder.

Brush Size Stops Showing Outline Radius After 175px
Hello all!
This is my first time posting in the forums.
I am having an issue in Photoshop that stops my brush size from showing up after 175px. What I mean is, the brush shows the outline from 1px - 175px accurately, and when I make the brush bigger than 175px, the radius outline still shows up as 175px outline radius. This is very frustrating when I am using a brush size bigger than 175px, because I can't see exactly where the brush is painting and is not accurate at all.
Sometimes, when I have a brush that is bigger than 175px, then click on another tool like the pointer, and I click back on the brush tool, the brush tool shows a pointer cursor instead of the brush radius altogether.
Anyone have a solution to this frustrating issue? This is NOT a caps lock issue.

Liquify filter not working, please help!!!
Hi friends,
I use Photoshop CS4 every day all day, as of this morning my liquify filter has stopped working and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why. I have already checked the obvious; I am working on the correct layer and 'show image' is indeed checked. I have already trashed the preferences and restarted both Photoshop and the computer. I am attaching a screen shot below (just in case I am missing something). The tool itself is working (I can see the brush and move it), it is just not doing anything. Nothing has changed from yesterday, there are no new software updates to install, I just sat down to start work and it wasn't working. Can anyone help? Please?! Pretty please?!It looks like you might have the Reconstruct Tool selected for liquify

Can not view image at full size when in liquify. e.g. the image is much smaller when you select liquify and when you enlarge it it pixelates. Is there a adjust or is something wrong with my Elements?
Thanks!Yes it's most noticable on files such as camera raw files with larger pixel dimensions.
If you take a file of say 6144 pixels x 4085 pixels and open in the liquify filter, you see the zooming is clearly not showing the actual image
size in relation to the zoom percent shown at the bottom left of the pse liquify dialog.
100% view in the pse liquify filter is not the same 100% view in the editor. (actual pixels).
That is cetainly a built limitation of the version 7 liquify on which i believe the pse version of liquify is based, but more recent versions of the
liquify in photoshop from cs up showed the actual size of the image inside the liquify dialog without the pixelated look one gets in the pse version. -

When I open liquify, it opens as usual and I can adjust the size of the image, choose the tool and attempt to edit the image , but it does not respond. Nothing happens.

Hi,
I previously owned cs5 which worked just fine. I now have cs6 and wanted to use the liquify filter. It poses a problem. The cursor does not turn into a brush. If I move the cursor the whole image moves .... I have disabled the grafic card.
Please help, as I often use this filter.

joyLiquify does not respect the GPU switch. It still requires a properly working graphics card/ driver. That's a known issue/ bug. Update your graphics driver and try again.

10bit (30Bit) Color & Liquify Filter (both not working at the Same Time)
Hi,
i've a Problem with Photoshop CS6 & CC (Actual)
On CS6, 10 bit (30bit) Color is working, but if i want to use the Liquify filter Pucker & Bloat are not working correctly while 10 bit (30bit) enabled, they are reakting too fast, changing setting does not help.
On CC with 10bit (30bit Color) enabled it's even worse, the whole Picture inside the Liquify tool is muddy only in Blue Pixels.
I'm using a Amd FirePro W8100 with the Actual WHQL driver, the Certifyed driver is worse too.
Any suggestion?
