PS CC Clone Stamp moving whole image?
I have a problem that I hope someone may be able to help me with. When I use the clone stamp I 'Alt-Click' to select a point to clone from. When I try to actually do the cloning the whole image moves on top of the original image. I knew it would be hard to explain so a make a screen capture video of it to explain Photoshop Problem - YouTube
If anyone knows a cure for this I would greatly appreciate the help. This seemed to start after the last update of CC.
Here is some info about my system. Sorry if I'm not brief.

Clone stamp tool and image processing
Hello, I am not able for some reason to apply clone stamp tool to multiple pictures at a time using image processing, I just get the first picture saved with the effect and the rest as they were. Could someone help me out with this? I have around 200 pictures and I need to remove damage from all of them quickly. Or is it not possible? Thank you!
After that time ten years Adobe added a new feature that enable you to record tools use. However the feature was not well designed recorded various amount of data depending on machine. Has some restrictions also. The feature is not compatible with everything as I wrote Adobe Disable this feature when its Plug-in Scriptlistener is installed. I never found a good use for the feature. Note: my option is grayed out because I install Scriprlistener.

Clone Stamp Tool and smudge tool issue
iMac 21.5"; new on 12/14/2011; OS Version 10.7.3; 2.7GHz Intel Core i5; AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB.
Two and Three Layer, all layers are copies of background layer, plus two adjustment layers, 8 Bit file:
Clone Stamping directly on image layer with Background layer directly below and with copy of Background layer directly below.
Intuos 4 tablet and pen.
Clone Stamp tool Setup:
Layer Adjustment parameter set to either This Layer and Below or All Layers.
All other parameters at default.
Using simple soft brush.
=====================================
The bug: Clone Stamp too will only affect the layer selected to do the actual cloning.
Tried it in every configuation possible without adjust the tool defaults, and no layers below will get the cloning corrections or stamping.Welcome back gang.
Made a couple new discoveries while double checking.
Again, the same four layer setup: Background-Background copy-HSB Adj layer-Levels Adj layer.
The problem replicates with the Adj layers clipped or not.
The key is any tweak in the Adj layers will cause the issue.
Any Adj layer tweak seems to get exaggerated when smudging on a layer.
For example, increasing the gamma or center slider in the Levels box will cause all bright pixels to go white and darker pixels to go black.
I do not know the threshold luminance pixel value but I would guess it is at 128/128.
Modest tweaks to the Adj layer, for example raising the gamma slider to 1.20 will cause the smudge to posterize or turn white.
Tweaking the HSB Saturation slider to +12 will cause color posterization.
Counter to what I had stated upstream, any setting of the Smudge tool will cause this to happen.
Also, as said upstream, the performance goes down such that the spinning balls appear frequently.
In other words, it does not appear to be a 1-to-1 relationship of tweaks made in the Adj layer to the effect of the Smudge tool.
My guess is that the Sample All Layers option is multiplying the color and luminance values fo the layers together.
Plus, it was probably designed to do so but I do not think it was to be so pronounced.
Still amazes me that the situation never occurred or did I notice it until now, and the issue exists in CS5 too.
When did PS add the Sample All Layers option to the Smudge tool?
Anybody else?

In Photoshop 2014 how do you use the clone stamp tool and keep the image panel from moving
I don't quite know how to use the clone stamp tool in the Photoshop 2014 version. When I click on the clone stamp it creates a duplicate of the image and it moves around and I can not apply the clone stamp to the area I want to correct. How do you lock it down to keep it from moving?
Hi Smoothery4501,
The Photoshop clone stamp tool allows you to copy one area of an image and copy it onto another area.
Click on the clone stamp tool then press the alt key on the keyboard and click on the image to define a source point.

Object removal in moving video (use Clone Stamp or Roto Brush?)
Hello,
I've been having a really difficult time trying to remove objects from moving clips. I'm attempting to remove the head off of the right most statue, but cannot find an effective way to do this... When I use the clone stamp, it tracks, but I cannot get it to blend in realistically, seeing as the color of the sky changes as the clip pans right. I also tried using a cut out image of the sky and tracked that, but that failed to blend as well...
If anyone has any suggestions for this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. I have this same issue with a couple other clips as well.
Thanks,
GSo I downloaded your video and took a look. To replace the head on the second figure from the left I simply moved to frame 250, duplicated the footage layer, used the clone stamp to replace the head with sky giving plenty of padding, set Paint to paint on all frames and then extended the paint strokes to the entire timeline. I also applied Layer>Time>Freeze Frame to the clip. Then I pre-composed the top copy so that I could use a mask to precisely cut out around the collar. I then added a Motion Track null to the comp and gave a quick motion track to the footage picking a couple of points on the second figure from the left that were below the collar. I ran a motion track, applied the motion track to the null, then parented the pre-comp to the null so that it would follow the camera move.
Took about 10 minutes. Here's a CS6 project file that uses your footage. You'll have to replace the footage in your comp and then it should work.
You could use the PSD that you created instead of all the painting and pre-comping. IOW, if you replace the pre-comp with the PSD you made at the proper frame then drew your mask and parented the PSD to the Null everything should work just fine. -
PS CS5 Extended on Windows
When trying to use the clone stamp and/or healing brush as soon as I move the cursor from the toolbar over to the image I get an exact copy of the existing layer that moves around the window with the movement of the clone stamp/healing brush. This just started tonight. What's causing this weird behaviour? What are the settings in Window > Clone Source?
-
My Photoshop CS 5 has some strange actions when I copy a portion of a photo using the clone stamp to transfer to another part of the image. It carries the entire layer (not just the stamps selection) across the screen and I cannot place it where I need to. It appears as if I selected the entire layer on purpose (which I did not)
The below items appeared when I opened Photoshop CS 5:
“Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled G & U enhancements. Check the video card malfunctions website for latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the performance panel of preferences.”
(I believe this started after the automatically updated Windows was applied. It was coincident with the before mentioned problem . . . but I don’t really know if it had anything to do with it. )For the Clone Stamp problem, check the Clone Source panel and Clipped is probably unchecked.
If so, check Clipped and see if that makes a difference.
(Window>Clone Source)
As to the video card problem:
Which version of windows are you using?
What is the make and model of your graphics card?
Do you know which update windows installed? -
Clone Stamp & Paintbrush cursor not displaying on image
Hey there,
When attempting to edit a photo (on PS CS3), the cursor for the paintbrush and clone stamp tools does not display on the image - it'll come up when the mouse isn't directly over it (ie around the borders, & workspace etc, but not on the image itself).
All other tools the cursor will display (eg marque and crop etc).
Is anyone able to offer any help on the subject?
Thanks very much.If you are using a Wacom, keep the pen well away from the tablet when using the mouse and vice versa.
Try unplugging the Wacom – if the problem disappears, update the drivers.
Or
Try resetting the tools from the little drop-down menu in the Options Bar.
If all else fails, try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem. -
I am using CS5. When I try to use the Clone Stamp or Healing Brush Tools, pressing the Alt key generates an extraneous image which overlays the
the image which is being worked on prevents these tools from functioning by sliding at around when the ALT tool is pressed. Does any one elso have this odd problem? How can it be fixed?
Thanks,
JackIsaac. Yes this was the problem. As a novice, I would have spent hours and hours figuring this out. Many thanks.

iMovie cuts off the bottom 10% of my video image once it is moved to the editing area. I need the whole image. How can I solve this?
I have solved the problem by changing the Project Aspect to 4:3 rather than wide screen.

Clone stamp only stamping negative images
new to photoshop .. well to be honest i havent used photoshop since 1995 .
after playing around with the free trial for 30 days i decided to purchase it . im trying to touchup some pictures from my wedding .
long story short
my clone stamp is now cloning negative images .was working fine while doing the 30 day trail till the last day .. and is still doing the thing with the purchased version of photoshop
i click a spot i want to clone ... then move my brush and start cloning for some reason i get a negative image
please helpHi Joe
In the Window menu click on Clone Sourceto open that panel. You'll see Invert near the bottom of the panel
BTW It was a relief to see that your screen shot was taken with a camera. For a moment I thought you had a serious problem with that moiré pattern -
Frustrated with clone stamp in CS5. Everytime I go to use it, it just moves the picture around as if I have multiple layers. Can anyone out there help with this?
Check the Clone Source palette for the options you forgot about enabling...

Clone stamp & eraser have a mind of their own!
I have recently moved from CS2 up to CS5, and am loving all the changes, however the last few days I have been in all sorts of trouble with the following issue.
When using the clone stamp, or eraser, or even a brush , the cursor keeps jumping half a screen away at odd times causing either whole sections to erased (when using the shift key) or cloning a part elswhere on the image.
This is really hard to explain, yet easy to demonstrate, but I first noticed it the other day when i was erasing part of a layer and holding down the shift key ....as I clicked along the curve I was erasing, after about the 3rd click it would fly off to another part of the image, OK not a catastrophe as all you do is back up one move, but it happens frequently. The same for detailed cloning ...I am cloning away and it the shoots off at a tangent...
I recently invested in a USB wireless mouse, which was great, and did wonder if it was the batteries running low and sending out wrong signals, but I swapped back to hard wired mouse, but the problem persisted - however it was not as frequent.
Its driving me mad as when I zoom out of an image i have been detailing, there are rogue patches on it where its jumped to and i havent noticed..
Any ideas?OpenGL is a system for displaying graphics, which when done properly leverages more of the power of your GPU than the normal Windows GDI can. Thus when enabled in Photoshop we gain access to smooth panning/zooming, brush gestures, and can even use it for some of the 3D work in Photoshop Extended. OpenGL is implemented in video drivers/firmware/hardware.
But OpenGL is very complex, and video driver updates come out all the time with fixes or enhanced OpenGL functionality. Some work better than others, and bugs in the drivers can result in some very strange effects. Sometimes new bugs are introduced.
Edit - Preferences - Performance, uncheck [ ] Use OpenGL Drawing. If this helps, your video drivers likely have bugs. They may be latest, in which case you'll need to wait for an update. Or get a different video card.
It is also possible that with OpenGL Drawing enabled, changing the Advanced settings can help.

Clone Stamp Confusion in PS CC 2014
Hello,
Has anyone else attempted multi-layer clone stamping in the new PS CC 2014? For some reason the layer I am cloning to is getting attached to the mouse and moving around wildly while I try to figure out what is going on. I open the same image in the original version of PS CC and no issues arise. Is this some new feature Adobe failed to put into the tutorials?
I get that writing this program is incredibly complex and difficult but the clone stamp seems to be a fundamental function in the toolbar, unless this is specifically happening on my system and no others I'd think this would be a fairly major thing to have missed while testing out the beta version.
If there is a fix for this that I have not yet found please share a link. It is really knocking off my zen while working on photo retouching to have the tools go crazy like this. If it is something others are experiencing, please let me know. I dread having to call into the awful tech support for Adobe products and would love to find an answer here rather than deal with that black morass.
Thanks
Working on a MacBook Pro OS 10.9.4, according to the Creative Cloud I am up to date with the latest version of PS 2014.1.0 Release (20140730.r.148 x64)Ok so it looks like third time is the charm. I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CC 2014 three times and on that third time the clone stamp issue resolved. seems a little extreme just to get the clipped option in the program to function correctly. Tech support was absolutely no help, big surprise.
So for future reference, if tools in PS CC 2014 are not working, just keep reinstalling the program, it will come out right at some point. -
Defined pattern is not covering the whole image
I want to use the Pattern Stamp tool to clone a painting effect from a photograph to a new layer.
What I am finding is that the pattern is perfectly replicated on the new layer except that a thin strip of the sky is appearing at the bottom of the image. It seems like a strip of the top of the image is appearing at the bottom of the new layer version
I am selecting the whole area of the source image before defining the image as a pattern. It is not a problem of the "Aligned" setting - that is always selected.
Grateful for any ideas as to what is going on.
Thanks..Does the layer with the painting effect have transparency in the layer at the top or bottom or is the effect layer smaller in size than the document bounds?
If your using the pattern stamp on another image and the image has bigger pixel dimensions, then then the pattern will start to repeat.
Maybe you could post a screenshot incuding the layers panel.
