PS CS 4 Defaults in Vista

When I use bridge CS 4 I do not have the option to either double click on thumbnails and have them open in PS, or to right click and have them open in PS 4. In fact PS 4 is not even an option, but rather elements 5

You can fix it in Windows Explorer.    Go to/Control Panel / Default Programs/Set Associations.

  • Reader does only see my default printer (Vista)

    Hi there
    product version : 10.1.7
For now few days, I've ran into a weird issue. In my 80 users, only 1 got this issue, instead he have the same Adobe Reader version. He got a Vista on a Dell desktop computer.
As I changed his default printer, Adobe Reader will always shows up only the default printer in his printer list, but not the other ones, despite the fact that's every other softs' (Word, Excel, Autocad, etc ..) recognize every printers added in the Vista printer manager and can print properly.
All these printers are deployed through a server, and are not shared on his computer.
I tryed to uninstall/reinstall Reader, to downgrade it
to check the registry keys bounded to the ports, drivers and printer infos.
disable the enhanced security mode on Reader
    reboot, redeploy printers on Vista
If someone got an idea or a hint, I would be grateful. Thanks for your help, I'm stuck around .

  • Installation problem on Vista

I'm unable to successfully get the SOA server up and running on Vista using Oracle database 10.2.0.4.
When starting the SOA or BAM server, the system responds after a while that the server started ok, but the deployments apparently fail.
    I have the following questions:
    1. I followed the document "Oracle Fusion Middleware Quick Installation Guide for Oracle SOA Suite" 11g Release 1 (11.1.1). The version is Beta Draft: 2009-03-27. Is this the version to use for the April 10 release?
    2. When installing, the only problem I saw was during the creation of the ESS schema with RCU. In the installation manual it is not listed as a required schema for BPEL or BAM. Is it ok to ignore this schema?
Below you can find traces of warnings I get in the admin server log.
When the admin server starts up I get

I also get an error with ESS schema - though a different one than you emailed to me. I'm using XE database and Windows XP.
The document you have for installation is the right one and I agree that you don't need the ESS schema for SOA/BAM.
I don't recognize the error you see in the Admin Server log. Would you confirm this is after the Admin Server is in the RUNNING state and while you are starting the managed server? Are there any errors in the managed server log?
We did have one PM install on Vista and he had to disable ipv6 which is the default on Vista. Here is a forum discussion on it:
    SOA Suite for windows vista
You may also encounter the network issue described in the known issues doc (eventually - you don't see the problem until you are deploying your project from jdev).
Let me know if the ipv6 change helps.

  • How do I log into an SMB share on Leopard from Vista

I have File Sharing turned on with a Public folder for several different users - all of which have Read and Write access. I've tried enabling and disabling Share files and folders using SMB. I can see the share on my Vista machine. When I try to login, Vista says "Login unsuccessful". This is using my account name to login to OSX and the password. I've even tried the "short" userid you see in a terminal window.
Windows prepends MY-PC\mywholeusername the "My-PC" (which is the local Vista PC) when the failure happens. I can type Admin and then my password, but then I don't see the shares.
Why can't I login? What am I doing wrong?

Your problem is vista and not the mac.
I had to do this on all my clients who use vista business.
    1. Open the Run command and type "secpol.msc".
    2. Press "continue" when prompted by Vista.
    3. Click on "Local Policies" --> "Security Options"
    4. Navigate to the policy "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" and open it.
    5. By default Windows Vista sets the policy to "NTVLM2 responses only". Change this to "LM and NTLM – use NTLMV2 session security if negotiated".
HOWEVER if you have vista home, Then you cannot do the above as secpol is not installed.
    so do this
    - Click start
    - Type: regedit
    - Press enter
    - In the left, expand these folders:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\
    - In the left, click on the folder named:
    Lsa
    - In the right, double-click "LmCompatibilityLevel"
    - Type the number 1 and press enter
    - Restart your computer

  • T500 with Windows Vista Business 64-bit ---- AND NO SOLITAIRE

Does anyone know how I can get my "waiting pacifier", the very standard SOLITAIRE, that I have been playing for over 10 years? I want to install this on my Windows Vista Business 64-bit T500 notebook? I am not interested in buying a more fancy version of this.

They're not installed by default on Vista Business edition, but they can easily be added:

  • Windows Vista, IE 7 and SAP passport

    Hi,
I am having problems to configure the SAP passport in my PC with Windows Vista to have SSO with the SAP marketplace. When I apply for the SAP passport, I only get a pop-up with the following error:
"The execution of the ActiveX control could not
perform correctly. Please check the documentation for the required
    settings".
I know that I have the following set to prompt, but it still does not work.
    Download signed ActiveX controls
    Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for script
If somebody knows a workaround for this, thanks in advance,
    Zareh Vazquez

Hi Friends, Here are the steps to Install SAP Passport in Vista As of now IE 7 is not supported by SAP which comes by default with Vista.
What you can do is install Mozilla Firefox- and after logging to market place click on
My Profile -Maintain my Single Sign on Certificate- Enter your password-Apply for SAP Passport
This will generated the Key- If prompted by browser to save password-select u201CNot Nowu201D.
Youu2019ll get a confirmation screen stating your SAP Passport is installed.
    Steps in Firefox
Now in Firefox- Go to Tool-options-Advance-View Certificates-Select the certificate with your  SUser Number-Backup u2013assign password (Enter the path and save the certificate)
    Steps in IE 7.0
ActiveX settings with the Internet Explorer
Note:You only need the ActiveX settings for Internet Explorer, not for Netscape.
In the menu bar of the Internet Explorer choose the following path:
Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level...
Set the following entries to Enable or Prompt:
    u2022     Download signed ActiveX controls
u2022     Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
u2022     Script ActiveX controls marked safe for script
Open Internet Explorer IE 7.0 u2013 Tools- Internet Options-Content-Certificates-Import-Next-
Select the path, next to File Name select All Files in drop down-select the certificate-next type the password you assigned while backup.
Once Completed restart the browser. Done

  • Why Can't I Access My Leopard Shares from Vista

I can access my Vista shares from Leopard via Go->Connect To Server (although they don't automatically just appear in Finder as they did in Tiger). In Vista, I can see my MBPro, but when I click on it there's a long wait followed by a Network Error, saying Vista can't access my Mac and telling me the network path was not found. I don't get even get a Login dialog box into which to enter my username and password. My MBPro is connected wirelessly to my Airport Extreme network, while the PC is connected via cable into the back of the AE.
Yes, I've turned on File Sharing.
Yes, I've made sure that the Workgroup is the same both in Leopard and Vista.
Yes, I've created a new NETBios name for my MBPro and can confirm that Vista sees my Mac by the new name.
Yes, I've made sure that SMB file sharing (and only SMB) is enabled.
Yes, I've made sure that my username and passwords are identical in both Leopard and Vista.
Yes, I've created an entirely new Network location.
Yes, I've made sure "Read & Write" are enabled.
Yes, I've set my Mac firewall to allow all incoming connections and made sure my Windows firewall is turned off.
Yes, I spent 45 minutes on a call with a very helpful and patient Apple tech support rep who wasn't able to solve the problem.
Can anyone offer any other advice?
    Thanks.

There is a bit of work you need to do on Vista because of Vista's authentication model:
To enable Windows Vista to connect to Mac OS X with Windows File Sharing enabled, you will need to change the following policy in Windows Vista:
    Start>Run>secpol.msc [enter]
Click on "Local Policies" --> "Security Options"
Navigate to the policy "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" and double-click it to get its Properties. By default Windows Vista sets the policy to "NTVLM2 responses only". Use the drop-down arrow to change this to "LM and NTLM – use NTLMV2 session security if negotiated".
In Vista Home Premium, you won't have this tool so:
    1. Run the registry editor elevated and open this key:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    1. If it doesn't already exist, create a DWORD value named
    LmCompatibilityLevel
    3. Set the value to 1
    4. Reboot
If you are using a third-party firewall on Vista, uninstall it; don't just turn it off. If you are using Vista's built-in firewall (which is adequate for most people), you don't need to turn it off - just configure it for file/printer sharing. Make sure Vista thinks your LAN is Private and not Public.

  • Wrt54g and vista CONFLICTS

    Hello,
I bought two new Dell computers with Vista Home and Home Premium installed in February.  I have had on going problems with communicating with the remote computer which has the printer wired to it.  Using Wireless WRT54G router.  Intermittantly loses connection to internet, just comes back by itself.  Bigger problem is printing via the router is problematic.  When using Word 2003, can't print. Printer set-up get's deleated.  When I try to re-install the printer, the system hangs.  At times, something happens and I can't access the remote computer at all--says I don't have permission or some such. In a few days it will magically start working again for not apparent reason.  Another wierd problem....AFTER completing a print job, the print processes take on a life of their own and the CPU usage grows to 100% freezing the computer!
I have narrowed this down to Linksys, because the remote computer does not have these problems, which is connected via USB to the printer.  Only the computer using the wireless router has these problems.
Eventhough Linksys says the router is compatible with VISTA, I think they've missed something, and there is still a conflict!  HELP!  LINKSYS, CAN YOU HEAR ME????

By default, Windows Vista uses NTVLM2 for authentication when attempting to map network drives to a Samba network share, such as your Home or Website share on Datastore01.
This problem can be resolved by making a change in the Windows Vista registry. The necessary change switches Windows Vista's authentication policy from "NTVLM2 responses only" to "LM and NTLM - use NTLMV2 session security if negotiated."
Try this and let me know if it works.

  • Default install of config files

By default in Vista, DW CS4 installs its config files here: \Users\username\AppData\Ro
aming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\Configuration   My Adobe folder has grown to over 1 Gig.  This means I have 1 Gig of data that continues to get copied back and forth across our network.  This tranlates to very long login and logoff procedures.   Is there a way to force DW during install to setup their config files somewhere else or is there a better solution to elimate the slow network coping of DW config files?  Thanks

    Hi
The dreamweaver user config files should not be so large, even with lots of extensions installed it should rarely be more than 200Mb, and not 1Gb.
As your server admin why they are uploading your dreamweaver user config as there is not reason I know of to do this, even the use of a version control system should not require more than 20Mb of files to be transferred. Is it possible that they have selected video files to be transferred or other items and not just the log-on to server info?

  • Audio works fine with "speakers" as default...doesn't work with spdif as defa

I'm using vista 64 bit. Last night I installed the 64 bit drivers for my x-fi extreme gamer card and my sound worked fine. I never checked to see what default device vista was using. In troubleshooting media player video (and possible codec conflicts) I restored all the defaults in movie maker. Suddenly I had no sound. I right clicked the speaker icon in the task bar, chose playback devices and noticed spdif was the default device. Once I made "speakers" the default device my sound returned. So my question is which device should be the default and if its spdif then I have a sound problem I didn't have when I first installed the drivers.

I'm guessing speakers is the default. I was trying to decide if changing deaults in movie maker caused the sound default to be moved from speakers to spdif or if spdif was the default all along.
edit: Nevermind, I realize now speakers would be the default considering spdif is for digital connections.

  • Menu Bar is missing, when I downloaded Firefox 4, on vista home- it was there on 3.6; I need it back, what do i do

I have Dell Laptop with Vista Home

I downloaded Fire Fox 4 and this menu bar has disappeared

It says click Firefox in left top corner and still I do not get the bar

    Hi:
No problem with the key working on SP1. I used my W7 key that I got on SP1 and my W7 Pro was without SP1.
You can use the free MS USB download tool.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
You may also need this and follow the instructions if you have trouble with the download tool working from the get-go.
I had to do this method below and it worked perfectly for me.
Download the bootsect file form http://www.everettsporting.com/bootsect.zip
Once downloaded, extract and copy the BootSect.exe file to the same folder that includes the installed Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool.exe file. The default install directory of that file in Windows 7 is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\
Run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool application as indicated on the Microsoft Store web site. The end result will give you a bootable USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install  Windows 7.

This is not a router problem.  It is your computer settings.  Both computers have to be on the same workgroup.  Default in XP is MSHOME while the default in VISTA is WORKGROUP.  Change workgroup to mshome.
In XP, run file & printer sharing wizard.  Go to Printer & faxes and you should see a little hand under your printers.  Note the name of the printer you want to use.
In Vista go to network.  You should see all your computers listed.  If not, click on Network & Sharing Centre and turn on Network discovery and file sharing. Set your network from public to private.  Go back to network and click add a printer. Select network printer.
Your XP has to be online for the vista to connect to your printer.

  • Windows Vista (IE) and iTunesU

I'm not a Windows Vista person, so I'm hoping someone here may have the answers.
I have someone who is attempting to connect to iTunesU from a Windows Vista machine. I can confirm that iTunesU and our scripts are working as they should from my XP machine. But apparently there is something on her Vista-based PC blocking her from connecting. She only knows enough "technical stuff" to make sure pop-ups are allowed; security settings and firewalls are beyond her.
Does anyone know enough about Vista to tell me where I can check? I couldn't see it in the FAQs.
