PS cs3 doesn't save files as JPG or others except PSD or PDF!!!

Please, help! My PS cs3 provides saving files only as PDF or PSD files!!! How can I save them as JPG????

I think you may have been mis-remembering Jennifer, unless you save for web, in which case it gets converted to 8-bit.
As Freeagent said, check the colour mode settings.

  • PSE 2.0 doesn't save files on a PC with windows Vista with 2Tb HD while possible on a 500 Gb HD

on the same PC I use since 4 years I changed the Hard Dusk, PSE 2.0 can read the files from this 2 Tb HD but it doesn't save any file on it while everythibg was OK using the previous HD of 500 Gb : any suggested setting to solve this problem ?

Unfortunately, this is a problem with old version of PS and PSE. They can't see drives that large.

  • I am unable to save files as .jpg, .bmp

The option to save a file as .jpg or .bmp no longer shows in my pull down menu following a reinstall after a crash.

I don't know where to find that information but I have 2 pages each in a separate document.  Interestingly, I Googled 'third party help in PS' and TEAMVIEW accessed my computer, and had me perform the task.  The drop down menu included my desired extensions for the first time since I reinstalled my program after a crash, and I quickly performed the task and saved it.  I tried it on a second document and the drop down menu no longer included the extensions I wanted.  He quickly took my access away  and told me to call tech support. Something is fishy.  Because I am using an old version, they won't help me and told me to go on FORUMS.
The other responses I've gotten suggest that the reinstall might indicate that I have too many copies of PS loaded on computers (I have 2).  PS CS is old and I have had two computer crashes (the last one did not require a new hard drive as it was caused by a repair tech who was supposed to be looking into repairing a video driver and managed to erase my entire hard drive). The suggestion on FORUMS was to de-active the program on an "old" computer.  When there is nothing left on a drive to de-activate, I don't know what I was supposed to do.  While I waited several months for the computer to be rebuilt I tried to load it on an old. old computer and it crashed completely (would not even turn on so I disposed of it), then I bought a cheap laptop and installed a copy of PS on it from my CD.  I gave the tech my CDs to reload the program on the computer he was "fixing", and some others that were on it when I gave it to him.  I have no idea if he tried to re-register anything.  Should I call Adobe again and explore that option or is that not applicable?

  • Skype doesn't save files where it suppose to!

Same here - my friend sent me pictures, they came with strange long numbers names and all are downloaded to C/user name/AppData/Roaming/Skype/skype user name/media_messaging/media_cache Thou the auto.download are disabled and another folder are set for the downloads. Same as yours the only way to get files in correct place without fishing 'em out of the media_cache folder are by pressing 'save as' and I had to do it to each file separately. The second trouble is that after I removed files from the media_cache folder and opened conversation again - the files were saved to media_cache folder again by itself. _______________________________ Again - 1. Autosave disabled. 2. Correct folder for saving/downloading files set (for ex. - c/downloads) 3. Received files (seems like smaller copies of pictures) are saved to media_cache folder before I choose any picture/file to download. - by itself. 4. Pressing any picture/file causes it to be saved to the same media_cache folder instead of the folder that are set as default for downloads (for ex. - c/downloads) 5. Only way to save files to the correct location is by pressing save as and choosing download folder individually for each received file. 6. Files (pictures) name changed to the strange very long number name instead of the original name.

Older Skype versions are not sending image files the "Cloud-way", so you would have received them the old "P2P-way" with option to save to a specified folder.
The difference between the Cloud and the P2P mode is that with the new Cloud-mode the image files are sent to a dedicated server and the receiver downloads these files from the server. This means also that the sender and the receiver don't need to be Online on Skype at the same time for the file transfer to work.
In the case of the old P2P mode, the files are transferred directly from the sender to the receiver and both must be Online at the same time for the transfer to work.

  • How do I create an action that saves files as JPG in the same folder?

    Hey folks!
So I'm sitting at work, trying to optimize my workflow a bit..
What I'd like, is a droplet, that will allow me to open PSD's and save them as JPG in a new folder inside the original folder.
Like the Image Processor that makes a new folder named 'JPG' but without opening the dialog box and having to press buttons.. Drag-drop-done
Sitting on Imac with OS X 10.10.2 with Photoshop CC 2014.
    Hope you can help
    Regards

Use scriptListener to create the code for adjusting the hue.  find the line in the code that denotes the change in hue replace that value with a variable that stores a random number:
    var rangeForRandomNumber = 200
    var offsetForRandomNumber = -100
    var randomNumber = Math.random() * rangeForRandomNumber + offsetForRandomNumber

  • MBP doesn't save files, then crashes - Illustrator

Hi...I'm in need of some direction on what to do here. My Illustrator CS2 program on my first generation MBP decided to crash and not register any of the saves I made before the crash. I had been hitting "Save" in Illustrator for over 2 hours, and when the program "unexpectedly quit" I went to reopen Illustrator and the file only to find a very old version, not a version saved 2 minutes ago.
It's worse this morning, Illustrator CS2 is crashing every couple of minutes, and the "saved" file is a few "saves" back, if that makes sense. I just can't get Illustrator to save my file to disk, or to memory stick, or the anything else. It's like my saves don't register, and almost anything I do in Illustrator crashes the program.
Is this a hard-drive problem? A RAM problem? I have sneaking suspicions something is up with my logic board..anyways, it's the only other problem with the macbook pro (see http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/sho...101#post487101)
any help, advice, or direction would be appreciated.

Illustrator CS3 puts files in the following places…
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS3
~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Save For Web AI 12.0 Prefs
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings
What you can do is you move all/some of these files to you desktop, reset your AI settings and see if your problem goes. By moving them to you desktop you leave yourself the opportunity to put them back if it doesn't fix things by having AI make new ones.

  • Photoshop CS3 won't save files as ".png"?

I have the same problem as the creator of this thread...
    http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080417004746AAjYbui
...except, his solution did not work for me. In Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Mac, I cannot "Save For Web". The button is there, but it is disabled for some reason...
I have the image in RGB Mode as everyone says it should, and have kept it in 8bt resolution. I can save everything as ".psd", ".jpg", and many other files - but not ".png". It simply does not appear in the drop-down menu when I select "File - Save As".
Also, people have mentioned an "Alpha layer" or "Alpha channel", but I do not know what those are.
Please advise on how I can fix this without having to reinstall, if possible.
    Thanks!

Check the bit depth and color mode of the document.
And check that the plugins are installed.

  • Photoshop doesn't save file extension

    I'm using PS cs5.1 64 bit and Bridge cs5 in Win7 Pro 64 bit.
When I "Save As", photoshop won't write the file extension unless I explicitly type it (i.e. i have to type "filename.psd" as opposed to just "filename") in the file name text box.
If I Save As the file without specifying the extension, bridge simply displays a blank page icon for the file, and if I double click it, I get the "don't know what application to use" dialog. If I select photoshop as the program to use, ps will open the file correctly.
However, even after I change the filename in bridge by adding the extension, bridge displays the PS icon, but won't preview the file (doesn't show a thumbnail).
If I want bridge to show a thumbnail, I have to re-open the file in PS, then Save As, remembering to explicitly specify the extension. THEN, Bridge will show a thumbnail.
How can I correct this? I've gone through the preferences dialog and have "save lowercase extension" checked, but this appears to be a preference for case of saved extension, not a specification that an extension should always be saved.
btw: I tried the regedit fix specified on other help forums, but this didn't help.
    Thanks.

I think I figured it out.
I was saving filenames which contain "." in the name (e.g. "BO.HG.M.psd").
When I saved the file with the name "BO_HG_M", photoshop appended the .psd extension for me, and bridge is happy.
Because of the application of the images, it's important that we use the "." format for the names, so I'll just live with it and try to remember to type the ".psd" on the end.

First, you should ask in Acrobat
The Cloud forum is not about using individual programs
The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process
If you will start at the Forums Index https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says All communities) to open the drop down list and scroll
Second, different program, but what helps with SOME permission errors is in the link below

  • Sony File Commander really doesn't save files on sd card - they vanished after restart

Like in the subject. I've Sony Xperia Z3 dual sim version - 16GB + 64GB Kingston SD card. I was recording very important meeting with my phone. But after a few hours the internal space was full and I moved all of the recordings to my sd card using Sony File Commander. The files where there. But I have to restart my phone and I was so surprised that after doing that all of my files on sd card that I've moved using SFC where gone. I've lost very important stuff.
I'm using Sony Audio Recorder and this program can save recordings only to internal storage. There is no option in settings to change that. Please help! Sony, help!
Going back to factory settings, uninstalling software updates and cleaning data of SFC didn't solve the problem. All versions of SFC have this problem.

I think this is something related to the microSD cards themselves. Have you tried others?
I'm using two Kingston 64 GB SD cards. The same issue is on my Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. When I remove my SD card and plug it directly through my SD/USB adapter to my computer I can easily cut and paste any files on it and there is no problem with them at all.

  • My CS6 Action is always "Save As a jpg" despite other format save as in the action. Please help.

I am helping a colleague with a batch file action where he needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file.  In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.  The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.). I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this.  He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
Any suggestions?  I know there is a known bug in CS6 for the Actions but there has got to be something...
Here is a screenshot of the action:
    I really appreciate it.

    Your screenshot didn't come through.
You probably need to post the screenshot by using your computer browser and coming to the forum and then use Insert Image. (camera icon)
Did you try recording a new action in photoshop cs6?
What operating system are you using?

  • How to transfer a large file with jpgs and other picture formats from pc to ipad, how to transfer a large file with jpgs and other picture formats from pc to ipad, how to transfer a large file with jpgs and other picture formats from pc to ipad

I have a large amount of music, in various photo formats and powerpoint, all together in an alphabetized folder. How can I transfer it from my PC to my ipad?

You're not going to just be able to drag a folder over. The iPad has no file manager like computers, so every file has to be associated with an app.
Did you ever sync your iPad with your computer? If so, use iTunes to move the files. However those  files will be moved in bits and pieces. For example the music will be moved via the music app. The photos via the photos app. You'll need a powerpoint app to open your power point.

  • Open/Save File Dialog Box comes up, then does not respond for a long time or not at all

I will click a link for a download and the box will pop up saying
"You have chosen to open "blahblah.blah.blah
    Which is a: blah file
    From: www.randomsite.com
What should Firefox do with this file?
    Open with
    Save File"
At this point other than being able to see the box, it is as though it doesn't exist. I can't click okay or cancel or choose what to do. Sometimes after a few minutes it will suddenly work, other times it will just remain until Firefox closes.

You can also try to clean install the new version after deleting the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder Profile Folder] as well as the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory Installation Folder.] Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information?s=backup&r=1&e=sph&as=s this] for backing up important info. The '''places.sqlite''' file stores the bookmarks and history, the '''key3.db''' + '''siqnons.sqlite''' files are needed to successfully restore the saved passwords etc.

  • Windows 7 - Can't Save File Anymore?

I started using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my new HP notebook computer.  Everything works great except that Adobe Reader no longer has the "save file" or "save target as" options active.  I used to save my Chase online credit card statements from the Chase website, but I no longer can do so.  I wasn't sure what had happened, but it does appear to be Windows 7 because my wife's notebook had been 64-bit Windows Vista with no problems saving Adobe files.  However, I recently upgraded her to Windows 7 and now Adobe doesn't save files anymore.  How do I get this capability back?  I need to be able to save Adobe files on my computer.  Help!!!

I am running Vista with IE 8. tried the various combinations you have
    suggested.
for me the only thing that worked on some sites but not all is to  hold
down the control button while clicking to open the PDF file. That brings up
the menu bar. while the "save" function under "file" is there it doesn't do
anything. however, under pages (lower right section of menu bar) there is an
option to send the file via email.  I did that, sent the file to myself
and could download it from the email attachment. cumbersome but  worked.
Unfortunately that doesn't work for all website I have to download PDF
    files from. still experimentiong.
I tried the hold down "alt key" and click on "title bar" but nothing
happened. perhaps I don't know what a titled bar is, I clicked all over the bars
at the top of the page, nothing

Well, I  just tried on Windows 7, IE 8, protected mode on and could save

While I'm not sure what's  going on with the particular sites, one thing
worth trying is to click on the  title bar of the IE window and press the Alt
key. This should show up the menu  for IE. From there you could select  Save.
