PS CS3 Extended fails to install. Windows XP Pro.
Computer info: Pentium 4
CPU 2.8GHz
1.50GB Ram
29GB Free Space
I seem to have the same problem as dixieppc. http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?224@@[email protected]
I have tried to install PS CS3 from the original CD. It "Extracts Setup Files" then says "Loading" then nothing and back to desktop.
In add and remove programs the PS icon is there, but no size. When I click on change/remove it starts loading and then windows throws out a setup.exe error.
I purchased the product in January 2008 and have still not been able to load it.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Dave I tried that it did not work. Reloaded windows XP and that did not work. I am getting someone to help me wipe the c drive clean and then reload XP. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to do.

Fail to install WinXP Pro on KT3 Ultra2

Hi,
I've been trying to install WinXP Pro on KT3 Ultra 2 box, but it always stalled at the point after it loads all the driver and says "Setup is Starting Windows" on the lower status bar. I notice a quick flicker on the keyboard light and the keyboard is no longer responding.
My hardware:
Athlon XP2200+
MSI KT3Ultra2 Bios v5.5
MSI G4Ti4200 128MB
Corsair XMS 2700 512MB
WD1000JB
Adaptec 2930 SCSI w/ Pioneer 305S
Antec Performance Plus 860

I also tried the install the same setup using an old Matrox Millenium II 4MB video card but if failed at the same point.
Any clue will be appreciated.

After reading a couple of posts that suggest users to remove all unnecessary devices during install, I decided to remove all my SCSI devices, take an old IDE CD-ROM drive, and BINGO.. the install went smoothly.
I guess the problem has something to do with the SCSI card and its devices. Very strange. I didn't think that booting from a SCSI DVD-ROM could be a problem.

Failed to install Officejet Pro 8610 over Ethernet on Windows 8.1 64-bit

When attempting to run the installation of Officejet Pro 8610 using wired Ethernet connection the setup quickly lists the printer with correct IP and MAC address but when this is selected takes ages in the "installing" state and eventually displays a graphic indicating that the connection is broken.
I have tried disabling firewall (ESET) and a clean boot, and have downloaded latest software.
The printer is connected using a cross-over internet cable, can be pinged and obvious is detected by the setup program.
Attempting to install using WiFi has the same results, ie finds printer but then fails (although I haven't retried this since downloading latest software or with a clean boot).
FYI the printer will work when connected using a USB cable. (has been disconnected and software uninstalled before re-trying above). Don't really want to use this as the printer will be too far from normal working position. Wifi would be preferred but cabled Ethernet would be OK.
Also printer works OK via Wifi using e-mail.
Computer is a HP ProBook 4530s which has recently been upgraded to Windows 8.1 Professional x64 with no other significant problems.
Apologies if this is already answered elsewhere but couldn't find any replies which refer to something not already tried.

Downloaded and ran the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows as suggested, still did not work. Here are some screen shots of what happenned
Right Click on Open File Location (step 3) opens the window in the previous screen shot.
I never saw any of the items in step 4, but double clicking the shortcut that was displayed started the same installation process that always fails, see following screen shots. Note I disabled the firewall while running this.

Failed to Install Connect Pro Add-in

I cannot get the Adobe Connect Pro Add-in to install on my
laptop. I am running Windows Vista, IE 7 and Adobe Flash 9. I have
disabled pop blockers & added admin.acrobat.com to my list of
trusted sites.
Has anyone encountered an issue with installing the plug-ing?
If so, how did you resolve it.
I apologize if this question was asked and answered in this
forum, but I was unable to find it.

Hi Matt an thanks for the email the other day.
The main issue here is this is happening across all versions of Breeze and Connect.
This isn't a problem due new browsers or operating systems.
This is a problem abobe and Macromedia created when they didn't add the right code to their program.
It's a glitch that needs to be fixed for ALL versions of this software because it's rendered it useless, by mistakes in programming.
It's not a matter of lifetime support, the problem is the developers made a mistake.
And now they have released a patch for certain versions and decided not to release them for 4.1
It would take an adobe connect developer about 5 minutes to patch this problem just like they did with 5.1.
When the Macromedia Sales Person convinced me into making the decision to purchase breeze 4.1 for my client they ASSURED me it would work with all future browsers with the flash player installed.
There is no security issue here to discuss.
The company spent around 78,000 dollars for Breeze 4.1 with all the features including custom pods, personal branding/customization and scorn compatibility.
I assure you WEBEX, CISCO or Illuminate would have fixed this a year ago..
No one in my breeze data base can download the presenter.
I have even downloaded it manually but breeze still doesn't recognize it so that means no live presentations..
This problem all started with the release of a new version of the flash player.
No other event caused this problem.
I'm not trying to sound disrespectful but am developer myself and there are just some things that you have to fix when the developer is the one who created the problem.

CS3 Extended trial when CS3 installed

I am wanting to trial CS3 extended on a system which already has CS3 installed. When I download the trial it does not attempt to install CS3 extended as a separate application but merely "repairs" the existing CS3 installation and does not give me an opportunity to trial CS3 extended!
How can I get CS3 extended trial to install as an additional but entirely seperate application?
To add a further complication the system is a windows 64bit. The current cs3 is installed but does not take advantage of 64 bit features and installs as a 32 bit application in C:\Program Files(86). I understand CS3 extended is meant to take advantage of 64 bit so clearly a seperate install into C:\Program Files is needed. The whole purpose of the trial is to see how well CS3 extended takes advantage of the Windows 64 bit OS.
Naturally I do not want the existing CS3 installation to be changed or in any way compromised by the trial.

I registered here on the Adobe site in 2000 or the year before but my contacts with Adobe and a few of their old hands go back long before then.
I agree with your "flying F" comment and deeply regret the loss of direct contact with and responsiveness of the pre-"contracted out support" days. I agree that the "old engineers" appear to have been deterred from posting but IMHO that had little to do with Bobs analysis about negative comments by users when the forums got going. The pressure on the engineers not to contribute appeared to have more to do with their honesty and tendency not to contradict users who voiced legitimate grievances. This was not welcomed by management who seemed to me to have morphed the organisation from a user responsive outfit to a much more bunkered view of the world. To me the turning point came after the blistering Adobe received when, in the eyes of many users, they failed to respond quickly and efficiently to the introduction of firewire.
Since then response has IMHO gone down hill to the extent that they the response to legitimate user complaints is pretty poor. The way they responded over the misleading information about the differences between PS CSs and CS3 extended is a case in point. Most organisations would have at a minimum said OK if you are going to spend some more money with us then we will be v. happy to upgrade you from CS3 to CS3 extended rather say you have to pay full price for the extended version on top of paying for CS3. This is therefore a reasoned objection to what to me appears to be a grossly insensive way of dealing with a legitimate enquiry.
There are those hear who say it is not worth commenting here because only users hear what is being said.
I do not agree.. I understand the discussions here are carefully read by a team at Adobe HQ .. attention is only paid when enough voices speak with sufficient reason and clarity. So IMHO we should speak up responsibly here with the expectation that what we say will be listened to even when the listening is not publicly acknowledged!!
I also agree that plain ******** is destructive and should be discouraged.
There needs to be a clear understanding that as users we need Adobe's products and those of us who are long established users wish Adobe well. On the other hand Adobe do have a responsibility to be responsive to us and to clearly expressed reasonable needs.
I also believe there are those whose primary role here is to damp down expectations that what is said here may have an impact there. IMHO the PR should not be believed.

Error "Licensing for this product has stopped working" when starting Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended- XP Pro AMD; 2GB RAM

I have exhausted all known options thus far.
I started the Flexnet Licensing Service and restarted the system but the message continues to come up when lanching PS CS3 extended
After restarting computer the Flexnet Licensing Service stops again and goes into Manual mode. This also happens after a few minutes without restarting.
I also downloaded the Flexnet Licensing Recovery Kit from Adobe Support but the file stops after saying "please wait for a few moments.. ?"
I changed the setting as discribed for the Flexnt folder but the message continues to come up when PS Extended CS3 is launced.

I downloaded the clean Script file and followed the instructions from what the Clean Script read Me file described. The first step said to deactivate. Although I was not able to deactivate because of my original message, I followed the remaining steps.
After using the Clean Script and uninstalling Photoshop CS3 Extended and re-installing it I re-booted my computer. I also deleted the CS3 Application data files.
When I installed PS CS3 Extended the installer does not ask for the serial number on all attemps. I bought a registered copy of PS CS3 Extended. Is there another way to approch this licensing error.

Trying to Upgrade to CS4 from CS3 Extended

I am trying to upgrade to CS4 from CS3 Extended. The Adobe web page states to call Adobe support for this upgrade. I call them before I attempt the upgrade to ask what I should do. They tell me to intall it and call back. I get to the serial screen and call back, they tell me to fully install it in trial mode, then call back. I do this and call back, but notice it installed CS4 Extended, not CS4. They tell me they can't help me because I purchased only CS4. That is all I want is CS4, so I uninstall CS4 extended and try again. Again the install(from disk) installs CS4 Extended(At least that is what the title page says).
Do I need to uninstall CS3 Extended before I install the CS4 Trial version?

DW CS3 fails to Install in Vista Home Premium

Hi,
My new DW CS3 disk will not install DW to my Vista Home
Premium machine.
I am looged on as admin. I have tried the suggestions on the
support page. Disabled norton, Disabled Google toolbar. Tried to
weed out incomplete Adobe files etc.
Starngely older Adobe apps, Premiere Pro and After Effects
installed with right click and selecting "run as XP program. i have
found no way to do this with the CS3 disk.
A forum search uncovered no new ideas. Two other DW support
forums have been fruitless also.
I need this to run ASAP.
Any help would be appreciated.

HELP - Installing Photoshop CS3 Extended using Apple Remote Desktop

I have 12 MacPro's in a classroom. Is there a way to Install Photoshop CS3 Extended using Apple Remote Desktop (not on a server) to all the computers at once?

I don't have access to stand-alone PS CS3, only the Design Premium CS3 disc, but that includes Photoshop, so they're probably the same system. In any case, it does not use a standard Apple packaging scheme, instead using a custom mess of hollow folders, app packages, disk images, shared resources, and xml config files.
I briefly went ahead with the idea of doing an install, looking for what had been installed, and bundling up that virgin copy using Package Maker; but installing it elsewhere — with Installer, nevermind ARD — failed or left me with a 'crashy' copy of the apps. Maybe I just stink at making packages of other people's software, but my guess is that Adobe's installer throws files into nooks and crannies all over, or does a importantly-different install depending on your hardware/software config. In any case, I gave up and made an updated hard drive image including the new software. Deploying that worked fine.

Installing MAC Photoshop CS3 Extended

I just purchased, for my older MAC runnning 10.5.8, Photoshop CS3 Extended. I received 1 DVD disk, but during the installation, the progress bar indicated I was installing 1 of 3 disks, and of course about a third of the way through I was prompted to insert the next disk, but I did not get one. Am I missing something?

PS-CS3 fails to install on 2 systems

I downloaded PS-CS3 Extended Trial [twice] and it will not install on either my desktop or laptop. Both systems meet the minimum requirements published.
Laptop:
Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4
512MB of RAM
64MB of video RAM
95.9GB of available hard-disk space
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 32-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7
Desktop:
Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+
512MB of RAM
128MB of video RAM
21.5GB of available hard-disk space
1,280x1,024 monitor resolution with 32-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7
Both Systems:
Updated as per M$ update site
All running applications halted such as virus protection, Firewall, etc..
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI installed and running just fine on both systems
The downloaded exe extracts the installation files as needed and then when the installation begins, it starts the moving bar that says Initializing Setup Files and when the bar gets to the end. Noting Im back at the desktop, no lockup, no courtesy of an error message nothing.
Anyone got any ideas..

While even your answers to these questions will not help me give you any solution, it may still be valuable for others to know. But, in brief, many have had problems installing PS CS3 while others (such as myself) have never had problems installing it. Why? I've no idea other than that I can say my system was a pretty clean one insofar as being recently built an all applications being freshly installed for the most part.
Now...1) Are you installing PS CS3 as the Administrator user or at least as someone in the Administrators group? and 2) Did you ever have the PS CS3 Beta installed and, if so, did you remove it per instructions from Adobe on how best to do so?
While not likely a problem for the installer, I will point out that 512MB of RAM is a rather low amount to have on a PC running Win XP and Photoshop. It will work, as that's what I had on a 3.4Ghz P4 work PC for a while, but it was definitely sluggish.

Failure to install Acrobat Pro Windows from cs3

I installed cs3 yesterday and it installed all apps but Acrobat Pro...I tried 3 times to install just Acrobat Pro but each time it stated "failed to install" - what can I do to install this? Prior to this I ahd cs3 installed correctly (including Acrobat Pro) for a long while and all worked fine. However, last week I suddenly had problems with Acrobat (it gave runtime error) so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall...then all the above occured. At one point (just to view a doc) I installed current reader version from online...but promptly uninstalled it to try and reinstall Pro again...any help would be appreciated! Kathy

software...however, now I have a new error message on Acrobat Pro from CS3:
"Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"
When I select "yes" the system takes for ever to do nothing. Any insight on

Trying to install Photo Shop CS3 Extended on Windows 8 and keep getting database corrupted

Hi, I am trying to install my Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended on my new Windows 8 OS 64 Bit computer. The CD does not have a scratch on it, it is like new. I get the error database is corrupted. Contact Adobe Support.
I went to the Adobe website and downloaded the updated installer, same error. I tried running the installer in Windows XP compatibility mode, it looks like it installed, but when I run I get database corrupted.
I could really use some help.
