PS CS3 Extended Student Edition disc won't upload onto Computer!

I bought the PS CS3 Extended Student Edition and I have registered on the Adobe website to get my serial number which all went fine, but when I put the Disc in the drive, it does not appear on My Computer,Desk Top for me to open and upload photoshop to my computer! I have put the disc into another hard drive and attached it to my monitor but still nothing comes up! I have tried it on a completely different computer and it appears then, just not on mine! My computer seems to be working fine as I am able to upload other discs to it!
Please can anyone help or has anyone had this problem in the past?
Thanks
Hayley

When did this start? 3.3? I've been a regular educational buyer. The most recent we have is CS3.0 (the suite) and that came with the serial. Maybe it just depends on the educational vendor.
I'm not doubting that Hayley has a legitimate license. But based on her terminology ('
disc won't upload onto Computer', '
put the disc into another hard drive') she may not be living in perfect harmony with computers. She may do well to snag the assistance of a fellow student to aid in the installation. They still have a good size population of 'nerds' in schools these days to choose from, right? :)

Well the error message is in Swedish but says: The installation program database is damaged. Please contact the Adobe support (which is a hard thing to do!!). I use Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.

  • PS CS6 Extended student edition recognizing Nikon D610 NEF (raw) files

I am considering purchasing the PS CS6 Extended Student edition (this is the licensed program, NOT the subscription CC version).
Can anyone verify that this will recognize Nikon D610 NEF files?
    Thanks

The student edition of Photoshop CS6 extended is precisely the same program as the "regular" version. The only difference is in the licensing. But Photoshop CS6 ships with Camera Raw 8.0, and you need at least version 8.3 to have support for that camera. In the Photoshop help menu, choose updates, and you should be updated to Camera Raw 8.6, and that should give you support for your camera.

Installation of CS5 Extended (Student Edition) (bought in 2012) --> possible to install on a new Window 8.1 computer?

The computer where CS5 Extended (Student Edition) was installed on (Windows Vista) needs to be replaced. I was not sure if the student version of Photoshop CS5 extended could be installed on a windows 8 computer. I only asked to avoid problems.

  • Adobe haven't responded to my serial number case!! Photoshop CS4 Extended Student Edition

Hi - I bought the student edition of Photoshop CS4 a few weeks ago. I registered on here and sent of my case to get a serial number on 21st June. A notification confirmed I had done what was required and said I would receive a reply, and therefore my serial number, in 1 day. I STILL have not heard from them via my email and have checked all emails including junk files!! Also, on here is still says the case is open and Adobe response is pending. I have one day left on the 30 day free trial and REALLY need the serial number now!!
I rang Adobe yesterday, and after about a half hour wait finally got someone on the other end - who said that the serial number would now be sent to 'the portal'. I'll be honest, I dont know what that means but assumed that I would receive an email with my serial number. No such luck - even though the status of my case seems to have been updated on 29th June (yesterday), I presume after the phone call. It hasn't been 'updated' though!! As in, no response has been made!! I am worrying now!
What am I supposed to do?? Where / what is the portal - somehwere else I should be checking??? Did I not do something or do something wrong? All I did was register and then fill in / open case to get serial number, including scan of my NUS student card (name, birth date, photo) - is the student card number required? Because that is the only thing I can think of that I did not include - I wish Adobe would actually tell me if I have not filled something in or something...!!
    Please help - Flo.

    Folks,
We are aware of the backlog in Customer Service to issue serial numbers for education versions of our applications. We are addressing this and expect to clear the backlog in a few days. In the meantime you can install and run your Student Edition in Trial mode. UK and Australia users, please be aware that when you install your application in trial mode you need to select English International from the language options, not the default language English (US).
Otherwise your serial number you will receive shortly won't work until you reinstalled your CS4 product with the English International language selection.
See this tech doc for more info:
    http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_kb407142_en-us
We are going to remove individual employee's email addresses from this thread, since having them being flooded with emails won't be a solution.
We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologize for the delays in reaching Customer Service and obtaining the serial numbers.

  • Photoshop CS4 vs. CS4 Extended Student Edition

I have Photoshop CS2, and it's incompatible with Vista on my laptop. At this point I'm going to buy some version of Photoshop CS4. So here are my questions:
    - What's the difference between Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 Extended? The extended version Student Edition is significantly cheaper.
    - Should I just buy the regular Photoshop CS4 Upgrade or is the student/education edition of Photoshop CS4 cheaper?
At this point it's a matter of what to buy and what's the least expensive.

In the absence of any clearly stated restrictions against commercial use of Adobe software puchased under any kind of discounted student or educational licensing program, I personally say "go for it".
If you have concerns about not being able to use the software for commercial reasons, certainly an inquiry to Adobe could be done, but even there you might get a wrong answer, so you should ask for specific documentation of such restrictions. In the absence of that, the burden of prosecution lies upon Adobe to pursue violations of a "no commercial use" rule and showing it was clearly stated for the product in question at the time of purchase. I suspect Adobe has a lot better ways to invest their time and money than in trying to identify an artist whose work they suspect was created using Adobe software, tracking down that person and, getting legal authorization to have an investigation performed into conclusively proving said artwork was created by Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. as opposed to other capabale digital imaging applications (Corel Draw, The GIMP, PaintShop Pro, etc.).
Zero reason for Adobe to offer such a discounted price on their software? I think not...for years we saw, and perhaps still do, Adobe software that was normally very expensive yet was greatly discounted when bundled with hardware. By the same argument of zero reason for a discounted student license, I could say the same would be true to those hardware/software bundles...but, there is good reason to offer the software at reduced prices in both cases: NEW CUSTOMER and FUTURE SALES, or at least the potential for that. Conversely, one might just opt instead for a lower-cost software package and happily stay with it for years to come.
I started using Photoshop with version 3.0 that was in a scanner bundle, and I've upgraded to nearly every version ever since. Sure, Adobe would've made even more off me if I'd paid the full price initially, but that is something I'd not have done...in fact, I even remember buying Micrografx Picture Publisher because it was inexpensive and yet pretty highly regarded at the time. After a bit of time using PS, I hated Picture Publisher, and as my experience grew, I also found my recommenations to others was to go the Adobe route. So, maybe that lower-cost investment in Photoshop paid off more in the long run for Adobe than if I'd paid full price or even a modestly higher one at the time. I think the same is true today, in Adobe offering their software at greatly reduced prices to students or anyone qualifying for a given discounted license.
I also believe that a discounted software license should come without any restrictions on commercial use, because:
    1) Burden of proof is going to be more costly than the profit loss on the product in question unless pursued on a large scale, in which case the software manufacturer would (or should?) garner a strong customer backlash.
    2) If a student qualifies to purchase discounted software and is talented enough to use said software to create marketable artwork, and if they can offset some of their cost of education by selling this artwork while still in school, then that's great!
    3) Just because a student's education is later completed, shouldn't restrict them from commercially using software they purchased while still a student.
    Regards,
    Daryl

You have SCADS of extensions and the things running. McAfee, Intego, Orbicule, CleanMyMac, and others I've not ever even heard of. My first recommendation would be to remove all of these and see if things improve.

  • Buying photoshop student edition in UK with a french student card

    Hello,
I'm studying in France, and I'm am in UK for 2 month.
I would like to buy photoshop CS3 extented student edition (for Mac OS X) from the online shop.
If I buy it from the UK student store, will I be able to register with my french student card ?
    Regards.

    Check this page: http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/eligibility-guide.edu.html?showEduReq=no
An edu license can be installed on upto 2 computers (personal use only, but both cannot be used at the same time). Ideal situation is 1 home desktop and 1 home laptop. You can download Adobe's EULA for Photoshop CS6 to read up on this: http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/Gen_WWCombined-MULTI-20111031_1230.pdf
And I assume you're aware you can only get 'Photoshop Extended' on an Educational license, not Photoshop Standard.
You may also want to try out the Creative Cloud on Edu discount - some great discounts and your daughter will get to try out every single Adobe product available on the Creative Cloud. It's a pay-as-you-go subscription. At any time you can stop your subscription and pick up a stand-alone product.

  • What is the best way to properly activate the Lightroom Student Edition? Is the Student Edition a permanent program or does it deactivate after 2-4 years like some other programs that are student versions?

I just purchased the student edition of Lightroom! I am very excited to use it and start creating beautifully edited photos but I'm a little unsure about a few things. It says I have to prove my eligibility to use the student edition which won't be an issue but what is the quickest and easiest way to submit this proof? Also I am concerned that the student edition will be temporary and I will have bought this program only to have it expire at the end of 4 years like some other programs that are student versions. Is the student edition of Lightroom a permanent program that I will have for life or will it deactivate after I graduate?

When I purchased my academic version of Lightroom, it was a package set. Inside was a yellow card with the instructions on how to verify that I qualified for the academic discount. I submitted my academic e-mail address and other info as requested on that yellow card. Within 5 min. I received my serial number. Very straightforward. I had no problems whatsoever.
There is only one version of the Lightroom program itself. The only difference is in the licensing and pricing. If you qualify for the academic discount, by all means use it. You are purchasing the same Lightroom program that anyone else does. It doesn't expire, there are no missing features, and it can be upgraded when new major versions are released. Those upgrades will cost the same as they cost for any other person, regardless of how they purchased Lightroom.
You can confidently move ahead with obtaining your serial number. The only thing you are doing differently is paying a lower initial purchase price because of your academic status.

  • Problems Getting A Serial Number For My Student Edition

I got a copy of Photoshop CS4 Extended - Student Edition from JourneyEd.com. Tried to register the product with myidentit-e.com and it says I have an invalid product code number. I call them and they tell me to call JourneyEd and get a new product code number. Called JourneyEd and they said that they don't generate these numbers, call Abobe. I call Adobe and they ask me for some other code number which should be on the inside of the DVD cover. There is no number.
I have a feeling that I just spent $200 and some change for a product that I can't use and no one wants to take responsibility. Any suggestions out there?
    john

Doesn't look like journeyed.com has a stellar reputation. If they cannot resolve the problem quickly, get your money back. And call your credit card company today to dispute the charge (assuming you didn't just send 'em a check).
I recommend that you should buy directly through Adobe, your school store, or other ethical vendor -- check vendor ratings before buying.
