PS-CS3 fails to install on 2 systems

I downloaded PS-CS3 Extended Trial [twice] and it will not install on either my desktop or laptop. Both systems meet the minimum requirements published.
Laptop:
Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4
512MB of RAM
64MB of video RAM
95.9GB of available hard-disk space
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 32-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7
Desktop:
Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+
512MB of RAM
128MB of video RAM
21.5GB of available hard-disk space
1,280x1,024 monitor resolution with 32-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7
Both Systems:
Updated as per M$ update site
All running applications halted such as virus protection, Firewall, etc..
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI installed and running just fine on both systems
The downloaded exe extracts the installation files as needed and then when the installation begins, it starts the moving bar that says Initializing Setup Files and when the bar gets to the end. Noting Im back at the desktop, no lockup, no courtesy of an error message nothing.
Anyone got any ideas..

While even your answers to these questions will not help me give you any solution, it may still be valuable for others to know. But, in brief, many have had problems installing PS CS3 while others (such as myself) have never had problems installing it. Why? I've no idea other than that I can say my system was a pretty clean one insofar as being recently built an all applications being freshly installed for the most part.
Now...1) Are you installing PS CS3 as the Administrator user or at least as someone in the Administrators group? and 2) Did you ever have the PS CS3 Beta installed and, if so, did you remove it per instructions from Adobe on how best to do so?
While not likely a problem for the installer, I will point out that 512MB of RAM is a rather low amount to have on a PC running Win XP and Photoshop. It will work, as that's what I had on a 3.4Ghz P4 work PC for a while, but it was definitely sluggish.

Hi:
Normally that means the hard drive failed.
I know it was replaced but maybe the replacement drive went out too.
There is a hard drive diagostics tool your daughter can run in the BIOS.
I suggest she run it (enter the BIOS by tapping the F10 key as soon as she sees the HP welcome screen).
Then once in the BIOS, there should be a diagnostics menu..one for memory and one for the hard drive.
She should select the hard drive diagnostics application and see what it reports.
Then go from there based on what is reported.

DW CS3 fails to Install in Vista Home Premium

Hi,
My new DW CS3 disk will not install DW to my Vista Home
Premium machine.
I am looged on as admin. I have tried the suggestions on the
support page. Disabled norton, Disabled Google toolbar. Tried to
weed out incomplete Adobe files etc.
Starngely older Adobe apps, Premiere Pro and After Effects
installed with right click and selecting "run as XP program. i have
found no way to do this with the CS3 disk.
A forum search uncovered no new ideas. Two other DW support
forums have been fruitless also.
I need this to run ASAP.
Any help would be appreciated.

Office Professional Plus 2010 - Fails to Install - Error 25004 - "System error: -1073418209" - Microsoft Key Management Server

I am receiving an error when attempting to install a site license copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. The enterprise environment that I am in is using a Microsoft Key Management Server for the authentication of all Office 2010 and Windows 7
installations. The error that I receive at the end of the installation is: "Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous Office 2010 trials being installed. (System error: -1073418209)".
I have never installed a trial of Office 2010, nor did I ever install the beta of Office 2010. I do have a copy of Microsoft Office Projects 2010 installed. Before attempting to install Office 2010, I had Office 2007 installed. I used the Upgrade option
to install 2010, instead of removing 2007 (which apparently I should have done instead) first. I have tried using the Microsoft FixIt tool to remove both Office 2007 AND Office 2010. Neither of those tools has fixed my problem. Office 2010 also does not show
up in my Add/Remove Programs list.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I do not have time to reformat until after the Holiday seasons, and need to have Office working!

The full error text is as follows: Error 25004: The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine.
This is most likely due to previous Office 2010 trials being installed. (System error: 1073422308)
The key you are currently trying to install with, is an Office Professional Plus Trial key. A machine will allow one Professional Plus Trial key installed on it ever. Meaning you can
install a trial on a machine, used it for some time, uninstall Office. When you go back to the Microsoft website and get a new key, the second installation will be rejected with the above error message.
If this is not the situation, try to completely uninstall all the versions of the Office programs from control panel, and then use the suggestions in this KB
article to uninstall it:

CC Adobe Application Manager fails to install...

I just purchased Adobe CC (I'm a current CS6 Production Premium owner) and login in with my Adobe ID, attempted to download Adobe Photoshop CC and got the following error:

We've encountered the following issues:

My system is Windows7 64bit. I looked thru my Windows7 event logs and NO errors are being shown.
I've attempted to contact "live chat support" but I appear to be on infinite "hold" with estimated wait that goes from 23 minutes to 22 minutes to 23 mintues to 22 minutes (has been doing this for 50 minutes now) -- I guess A LOT of people are having problems with CC.
I gotta say, my "introduction" to Adobe Creative Cloud has definitely NOT been a good one. If I can't get a solution soon, I'll just get a refund on my CC Subscription and look for alternate "creative" software. Not a happy customer. I suspected this CC subscription approach was going to be problematic, and it is!

I finally got thru to live support and they resolved the issue.
1. Moved a file omp.db from AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE to desktop (it gets re-created later)
2. Tried to install AAM again from download center, it failed
3. Downloaded AAM to a local dir and extracted and "Run as administrator" on Setup.exe, it still failed.
4. Went to download center on web and tried to download AAM, click download button on web site and it opens AAM and I logged in ... most bizarre
I'm not really sure how or why this worked since the install still reported at Failed even when "Run as administrator", but AAM is working now and I was able to install other CC applications using it.
I'm almost 100% certain this is a security issue with Adobe's installer, somewhere in the chain something isn't getting/requesting elevated trust so when the installer tries to proceed it's hitting an OS security violation which is preventing the install. So you might want to take this bug back to your CC developers and let them know they've got a trust/permissions problem with their installer.

here is my scenario :
user rights : user with admin privileges .
few weeks back i had some issue with the operating system due to some office suite installation hence i had to format my pc . After formatting i tried to install my software's back , when i tried to install CS3 web premium it showed the following error
shared components failed to install
adobe cs failed to install
when i tried to open any of the successfully installed programs it said license stopped working
i tried all possible steps mentioned in various blogs and forums , here is a list of steps i tried
uninstalled the suite .
Installed windows clean up utility.
Downloaded the CS3 clean up script ran the same in all levels including the hidden levels 3 , 4..
Downloaded and ran the flash uninstaller.
disabled all services in the msconfig tab.
disabled all start up programs in the msconfig tab.
restarted the machine .
installed the suite again .
BINGGGGGGG same error shared components failed to install *********** .
*I also tried some postings regarding starting flexnet services in the services utility
What is the issue i have been struggling with this for past one week and its driving me mad....any help would be greatly appreciated .

In case anyone is still interested in this thread. I called Adobe tech support and they were able to help me finally get CS3 installed. The steps I took were kind of messed up because I'd try something and it still wouldn't work and then I'd try something else. But I think the following was the magic combination that finally worked. I don't know if this would help anyone else but it worked for me...
I uninstalled all the previously installed CS3 components. In fact, I uninstalled everything that started with the word "Adobe" on my computer, even Flash Player, just for good measure.
Then I ran the Adobe cleanup script at level 2
I downloaded the script from here...

I went into the "computer" window and set it up to show hidden folders. Click Organize->Folder and Search Options->View. Then click "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
Then I went into C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Adobe and moved all the files in there to a folder on my desktop so there was nothing left in the Adobe folder (I don't think it wouldn't let me move some of the Acrobat files so the tech support guy said to just leave them)
I did the same thing for C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe and moved all those files to a folder on my desktop
Then I deleted all the files from C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roadming\Adobe
I think I ran the cleanup script one more time just for the heck of it.
Next I went to the start menu and on the "Start Search" line I typed "msconfig." When the system configuration window came up, I went to the "services" tab and checked "Hide All Microsoft Services" Then I checked "Disable All" So that disabled everything that wasn't a MicroSoft service. Then I went to the "Startup" tab and checked "Disable All" and restarted the computer.
Then I went ahead and installed everything fresh off the CS3 DVD and it worked the first time. No more 1310 errors with the Config.Msi directory.

Ok. I could finde out the Problem.
I uninstalled VMware witht RevoUninstaller and deleted all Vmware sysfolders and all regKeys.
Important note:
The first Installtion was on the 2nd Hard disk on my PC. These Harddisk was Connected via USB3 Port. VMware was successfully installed, and via the standart installation procedure the ISO files could be installed in Vmware, but the problem persist with
WIN2012RT server.
After a new installation of VMware into the Local C: Drive. The Win2012RT.Iso could be installed. With this procedure

I would like to answer to another question, just in case:
Question: Can I dual boot Win7 and Linux on a UEFI capable bios?
Answer: Yes you can. If your HDD is formatted in MBR partition table (or msdos) than you can install first windows 7 and than the distro of your choice. BUT, careful, if you install windows from a DVD media it will convert your HDD in GPT partition table and dual boot will be almost impossible... (or will give you a lot of headache) to avoid this, dump the win7 iso to an usb using Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. Installing from USB will not change the hdd in GPT partition table.

I have tried to install PS CS3 from the original CD. It "Extracts Setup Files" then says "Loading" then nothing and back to desktop.
In add and remove programs the PS icon is there, but no size. When I click on change/remove it starts loading and then windows throws out a setup.exe error.
I purchased the product in January 2008 and have still not been able to load it.

Dave I tried that it did not work. Reloaded windows XP and that did not work. I am getting someone to help me wipe the c drive clean and then reload XP. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to do.
