PS CS4 doesn't recognize my WIA supported printer on my network

I have PS CS4 installed on 2 W7Pro computers (1 license, one backup) I have a Canon MP560 connected to my main computer and the printer is on my network and the backup computer uses this printer via wired LAN, network router etc.. I can print from PS on the backup computer with the network printer, but when I want to scan in from the printer to this computer, PS tells me that I need to connect my system to a WIA supported device....but it already is.
The printer software has been dowloaded onto both computers. Is there some way to cause PS to recognize my printer in the network from the import menu?

I found the problem was my clients fonts were all lower case ie "arial" while mine started with upper case ie "Arial" I just mapped to the corresponding fonts on my system.

Help! Bridge CS4 doesn't recognize 7D RAW files!

I just got a new computer, it has Vista on it. I installed my Adobe Photoshop and Bridge (CS4) on the desktop, and it won't read the images from my 7D. I downloaded the ACR and DNG converter 5.6, installed it, restarted my computer, and Bridge still doesn't recognize the RAW files. What else can I do? I need to access them ASAP! Thanks

Look for and download the Adobe DNG Converter version 8.6. No need to be running such an old obsolete version as you reference.
The Adobe DNG Converter is a stand-alone application that is in no way tied to your version of Photoshop. You not only download it and install it, but you also have to launch it separately and run it on each folder containing raw files from your Canon camera. Note that it will not recognize individual files, only the folder that contains them.
However, you shouldn't need the DNG Converter it if you update your ACR Plug-in to the latest version, ACR 5.7.
The Adobe auto updater was and remains utterly unreliable—I'd even say useless—in CS4. You must locate the ACR update at the Adobe site yourself and apply it manually.

I recently installed photoshop CS 4 on my MacBook Pro. I have a Sony alpha 330 camera, and photshop doesn't recognize my RAW-files (ARW)
What do I have to download to get my photoshop working?

Are Photoshop and ACR fully updated?
It seems support for RAW from Sony A330 was added with ACR 5.4.

Photoshop CS4 doesn't recognize camera raw plugin on yosemite

I've been using Photoshop CS4 with the camera raw plugin for many years without issue. I recently got a new computer with Yosemite and when I installed PsCS4 it no longer worked with RAW files (5D mkii). I just tried downloading the newest version of the camera raw plugin, but Photoshop doesn't seem to recognize it. What can I do?

The “latest version of camera raw” would be ACR 8.7.1 and that is only compatible with PS-CS6 or newer.
PS-CS4 would probably install with ACR 5.0 but the 5D Mark II needs at least ACR 5.2. The latest version of ACR you can install for PS-CS4 is ACR 5.7 which may be what you had on your old computer.
The usual way to update your Camera Raw plug-in would be to do PS / Help / Updates and let it check to see what is available, so try that.
I am not sure if that process still works, but you’re in luck because Adobe was still putting links to their installers on the website back in the CS4 era, so you should be able to download an installer and run it to get ACR 5.7 installed, from here:

It’s possible that something in the newest OS will prevent this installer from working, of course, but at least try.

Bridge in CS4 doesn't recognize my RAW files . . .

I just got a Canon 5DMKII. When I download the RAW files into Bridge CS4, it does not recognize the file. I get the message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize the type of file".
I had no problem with my Canon 5D, it displayed the RAW files perfectely.
Any suggestions?

No I haven't. How do I do that?
I'm downloading some updates from the Adobe Updater, one of them was Camera RAW, so maybe that's it.

Problem-
I recently installed Photoshop CS4. I still have CS3 installed. When I go to print from CS4, it prompts me that there is no printer installed on my pc. (CS3 will still print without issues). I have downloaded and installed the latest and greatest drivers for my Canon Pixma Pro 9500. I have tried recreating the Photoshop preference file and still no good on either attempted solution. I even tried unistalling CS3 - no good.
How do I "convince" Photoshop CS4 that printer software and drivers exist on my pc?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using Production Premium CS4 for over a year now, and since July on my i7/12GB/GTX260/Win7 64-bit, and it's all been fine. Tonight I get the Premiere 4.2.1 patch, and all of a sudden, magically, Photoshop will NOT recognize my installed printers. I tried 64-bit, 32-bit, rebooting, reinstalling my printer (a standard Epson R380 that has worked consistently), and to no avail. Illustrator sees the printer, but not Photoshop, even though it has printed fine until tonight's "unrelated" Premiere patch.
Thus the woes of integrated suites.
I'll try the FAX thing.

Help! Can anyone tell me why Bridge CS4 Doesn't recognize my Windows 7 libraries folder?

I'm having this organizational issue with Bridge, well actually its a total deal breaker.
I can't open my 'libraries' folder, I'm in Windows 7, it shows the folder in my folder in my folders side bar, but the drop down arrow goes down with nothing, and it has said it doesn't find any subfolders when they are actually there... WTH?
Any experience and insight would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem - I assume it is becuase I created a link in the Photo Library to a folder elsewhere on the C: Drive. Bridge only shows the actual files that reside in that folder and via not any shortcuts.

CS4 Doesn't recognize Animation Codec?

I've been trying to see if anyone else is having this issue, but haven't seen anything yet, I've got 6 Windows XP systems, one of them is XP(64 bit). They all have Avid Media Composer and Adobe CS3 as well as Adobe CS4.
I export projects out of Avid using the Quicktime Animation codec set to best and NONE of the Adobe CS4 apps on any of the computers can see the video (they do see the audio though), but CS3 can see it. This is kind of a problem as i like to use the CS4 media encoder to create proofs and WMV's, but it can't see the video, only the audio!
Am I the only one with this problem?
Does anyone know a work around or a solution to this?

Because it's not the kind of camera Premiere needs to 'recognize'. You don't capture from this camera, you transfer the entire folder structure to your internal hard drive first and then use Premiere's Media Browser to import the media.

Airport Extreme doesn't recognize Canon MX860 wireless printer

Yesterday I purchased an Airport Extreme router to replace my outdated Linksys. The Apple Genius guys told me the router would NOT connect via ethernet to my very old HP LaserJet 4050N, which I could live with. However, I also have a fairly new Canon MX860 printer that is connected via USB to my MacBook Pro and also it was previously set up for wireless connectivity through my Linksys home network. Now I cannot get the Airport Extreme to recognize the printer, which is in a different room from the router and modem. Please help! I can't afford all new peripherals just because I upgraded my router.

Not sure why they gave you that advice. Connecting a network-ready printer (wire or wireless or both) to the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) should be no different than connecting it to any other manufacturer's router. In this case, the AEBSn would NOT be providing print server functionality and the printer would have this duty. This should hold true for both the HP and the new Canon printers.

How do you have the AEBSn configured with the other router? Regardless, what is the make & model of this other router?

How can I find the serial number from CS4 for my mac? I remembered it being on the box, but now I can't find it, and they website I thought to have registered it to doesn't recognize the e-mail I would have used then I got it.

I remember there being 2 serial numbers, so I could install to one other computer. That macbook pro finally died, and now I have a new mac which I am trying to re-install the creative suite on, only I can't find the serial number. The two stickers on the back of the CS4 box (which i thought were the serial numbers) don't look like that they're asking for, and the website listed on the inside of the box for me to register to doesn't recognize my e-mail (which hasn't changed since buying CS4). Any idea where I could find the serial number?

That "17 day" warranty makes no sense, though. iPods have a 1-year free AppleCare warranty for service, and 90 days for free phone support:

Apple can repair just about anything that might be wrong with your iPod, but it will cost you. Call, explain the problem, ask for a repair appointment at your nearest Apple Store (or get a case number and ask for instructions to mail it in for a repair), but get a firm quote on the repair cost before authorizing the repair (or mailing it in for repair).
