PS CS4 Zoomify Rolling Scrolling Animotion Uber-Coolness

Has anyone else noticed this?
I set my image to increase/decrease in size with mouse scroll. When I scroll, the image will overshoot slightly and float like a scrolling Flash animation. I thought "cooool". Then I noticed the same thing with the hand tool.
So, if I press the space bar for the hand tool and swipe the image and then let go, the image doesn't stop immediately, it floats slighty in the direction I moved it and then slowly comes to a stop.
I don't know why it's cool, but it is. Very.

Yepp, the soft ease is very sexy, though not really of any practical relevance for getting work done. It would look even more impressive if the rotate canvas tool had it, too. ;-)

  • Flash CS4 crash when scrolling

    Hi,
Today one of our artists started experiencing a crash in Flash CS4 Professional when scrolling the workspace around in one of his .fla files.  All he has to do is hold down the spacebar and scroll around with the mouse; or use the scrollbars to scroll around.  It has crashed about 10 times in the last hour, and we copied the file over to another machine and saw the crash there as well.  We've only seen it occur with one particular file.
The machines are both Intel Core i7 machines with 8GB of RAM and two different video cards, one running Windows 7 and the other running Vista; and the crashes cause the Adobe "let me report this crash to the mothership" dialog box, so I don't think it's video card driver related; I think it's just a bug in Flash Professional.  We're running version 10.0.2 with no updates available to Flash Professional when choosing "Updates..." from the Help menu.
Anybody else seen this?  Any workarounds?  Any way to get Adobe to fix it?
    Thanks - BD

    Hi Jen,
I'm putting the file up on our website for you to grab.
    Please treat this file confidentially.

  • Illustrator CS4 crashes when scrolling through fonts via the character palette

    Hi,
Question say it all - am using CS4 on macbook pro laptop. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen every time since installation? It only crashes when previewing fonts via the character window.

Hi & thanks for your reply.
No problems with the fonts as far as I can tell via font book validation.

  • CS4: Can't scroll to the right past 3900 in IDE

I've imported a large bitmap into my movie. It's over 5000 pixels wide.  I need to place some shapes over it, but Flash refuses to scroll to the right past 3900 pixels.  Is there anything I can do?
I've tried positioning the bitmap at x=-2000, but I get the error "Invalid size and position" (which, incidentally, I get a lot -- many of my bitmaps end up on a fractional pixel and when I try to change the properties to put them on a whole pixel, this error message occurs).

  • Apple TV - Display Rolling / Scrolling

Greetings - I just plugged my Apple TV into a Toshiba 32' Color Television using proper component cables and jacks on both Apple TV and Toshiba. Screen looks GREAT but keeps rolling as if there is a verticle hold issue like an old television. This television does not have verticle or horizontal hold adjustments and I am looking for some help with this topic.
    mg

It sounds as though you have connected your tv to a composite connection on your second tv. Since you have a stable picture on that tv, I would say your tv is working correctly (you will have connected the green out to yellow in and green out carries the component sync signal, so the tv seems to be generating its sync signal properly)
HDMI is intelligent, your tv will tell the tv which resolutions it supports and only display the options it can use. Component is not intelligent and hence your tv will display all of the outputs it has regardless of whether they are compatible with your tv or not.
I suppose it is possible to select the wrong option and obtain the rolling you are experiencing, however I would ordinarily expect a blank or blue screen on your tv and after a few seconds the tv would reset itself to a compatible resolution.
    So could it be that:
Either your second tv is behaving as expected and your tv is setting itself to a compatible resolution or that simply your second tv supports both PAL and NTSC signals. Additionally could it also be that your first tv, although not compatible with the wrong type of signal is not actually rejecting it and hence the tv is not trying to reset its resolution. If this is the case and you are unable to see properly to alter your resolution because of rolling, then you could attach it to your second tv and set it from there. Given the information you have given I'm guessing the resolution you need is 480i/60 Hz.
Failing this you are likely looking at your connections again, but at least you know your tv is not defective.

  • InDesign CS4 - edit this scroll down menu?

    Hello:
I am working on someone else's INDD file. How do you edit this drop down menu to original settings? I am not familiar with this feature. See attached screenshot for reference.
    Thanks in advance.

That looks like Object Styles. You can select them and delete them directly in the panel, but you'd be far wiser to examine what they are set to do and use them.
Styles are the way you maintain consistency across your document and allow you to make a change in one place (the style definition) that will ripple through the entire documetn and change everything to which that style is applied.
I sense you are inexperienced, and this may be a more complex job than you are ready to tackle. Some training might be a good thing. Sandee Cohen's Visual QuickStart Guide to InDesing is an excellent beginners book, and you won't find better video training than Lynda.com.

i think it's worth trying to remove all input related stuff from xorg.conf, enable hotplugging with a /etc/hal/fdi/policy/11-x11-synaptics.fdi similar to this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <deviceinfo version="0.2">
    <device>
    <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.touchpad">
    <merge key="input.x11_driver" type="string">synaptics</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.SHMConfig" type="string">true</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.AlwaysCore" type="string">true</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.VertEdgeScroll" type="string">true</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.MaxTapTime" type="string">180</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.FastTaps" type="string">1</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.TapButton1" type="string">1</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.TapButton2" type="string">2</merge>
    <merge key="input.x11_options.TapButton3" type="string">3</merge>

    </deviceinfo>
    edit: removed some extra options

Since a few days I've been having some issues with random black screens.
Sometimes when I'm busy using my system, sometimes when it's idle, 5 minutes after I boot or 5 hours...

  • Using Flash CS4 Scroll Pane

    Hi all,
I have been looking for an app or something to make a scrollable window for a site I am working on and realised Flash CS4 has a Scroll Pane, great!
Watched one to two tutorials and for some reason they are all CS3 but I think I can work round that but have one question.
I am making the background transparent as all I want to display is scrollable text but can I colour the scroll bar itself?
I don't want it the gray and white, I would like it coloured or better still semi transparent, glass effect looking.
    Is this possible? Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance, P.

    Hi,
Well kinda sorted this and did find the Component Assets folder but think I messed this up by deleting or editing stuff I shouldn't.
Does anyone have any tutorials on doing a Scroll Pane in CS4 that also shows how to edit the scroll bar?
I thought this would be easy however I feel I'm making a pigs dinner out of this ;-)
    Thank you.

  • Am I using the right codecs in CS4?

I have been working with PP CS4 for a few weeks and thought it might be good to check with the experts about which codecs I am using.  I also just got a new video camera that is an AVCHD type.  Here is what I normally use:
Copy video from camera to PC in *.MTS format.  I use a USB adapter to copy from the SDHC card.
I start PP CS4 and when I open a new sequence I choose AVCHD 720p30.
Once into PP CS4, I use media browser and open the MTS file into the source monitor.
Next I need to save my work for later use in Encore and I save into Flash for upload to website.
To save for Encore, I export to AVI – video codec DV NTSC
To save for Flash upload, I use Flash F4V – Medium.  After saving, I rename the file to a FLV file.
I rename to FLV because my website flash player only recognizes FLV extension.
Once in Encore, I add a menu plus a post roll (scrolling credits), then burn to DVD.
Am I using the right codecs?  The one that is most unclear to me is the new sequence one – AVCHD 720p30.  My system is an i7 running at 4GHz and with 6 GB of memory.  PP CS4 is loaded on one HD and the video from the camera is copied to a second HD.

I don't know if I am filming in 720p.  The camera is a Panasonic AG-HMC70 and it has three settings for video quality:
HF = 13 Mbps - Constant Bit Rate
HN =  9 Mbps - Variable Bit Rate
HE =  6 Mbps - Variable Bit Rate
I have been using the HN or middle quality setting.  Anybody know if this is 720p or something else?

  • Need Help: Wireless Mighty Mouse's Roller Ball Sluggish, Not Sensitive...

    Hello all.
*I have followed Apple's Support Docu* to "hold the mouse upside-down and roll the ball vigorously while cleaning it to help dislodge any particles that may have collected on the internal hardware".
But after I did that a few times, *my Mighty Mouse's rolling is still very sluggish, especially rolling/scrolling downwards, it is very in-sensitive, I almost have to push down the roller ball hard and scroll, then it will be effective.*
*Any idea to fix this?* Or my mouse's "time is up"?
    Thanks and cheers

Sure just needs cleaning. Get some Foam cleaner. Spray on tissue/cloth flip mouse upside down and scroll in the problematic direction for 2 mins.
Add more foam cleaner to cloth and repeat until you have completed the points on a Compass.
Its dirt and grease that causes that. Its a known design problem. A simple clean usually resolves for a few months and then you have to repeat again.
ANY CHEAP FOAM CLEANER SPRAY WORKS FINE. as long as its for Computers.

  • IPhoto scrolls out of control

I'm really getting #$%&* off at iPhoto. I'm organizing a semi large library of just over 1000 images in approximately 120 rolls. Here's the problem: when I drag and drop images from one roll to another, at some point which I can't exactly determine, iPhoto kicks into overdrive and scrolls so fast that I can't see the rolls. If I try to reverse (inevitable as it's impossible to stop where you want when iPhoto is in Warp speed), all the while still holding down the click button on my mouse, iPhoto goes in reverse just as fast. It's impossible to stop and drop the image where I want. What usually happens is I just drop it somewhere and then have to re drag and drop to the correct roll.
Is there anyway of controlling the speed iPhoto scrolls at? When I first start dragging an image, iPhoto scrolls at an appropriate speed and slowly accelerates. Then, all of a sudden, like I said, it kicks in the afterburners and essentially becomes useless.
    Any help?

    TD.
Thanks, that's a useful article. I'll check out the USB overdrive and see if it has some functions I'd like.
But again, for me it's not a mouse issue. Unlike the article, I never have this problem outside of the library in iPhoto.
It happened again yesterday, so let my try to describe it more carefully.
I had just uploaded some pictures from a camera card into iPhoto. They were put in a new roll (as always). I wanted to move them up to an existing roll with pictures from the same card. I selected the new roll. Then I began to drag them up to the roll where I wanted them. I had perfect control with the mouse as I moved the drag image up the screen. But the target roll was above it, off screen. When I moved to the top where iPhoto begins to scroll the rolls downward, it was fine at first. I even am very careful to just let it scroll a little at a time, to keep it from accelerating (Notice that the mouse dosn't move much here, it's iPhoto moving the rolls to put them on screen.) I had no trouble getting my target roll onscreen, highlighting the roll name, and dropping in the first set of imports.
But when I uploaded more pictures on another new roll and tried to move them, iPhoto freaked out. Again I selected the new roll and dragged it up to the top of the window. With the mouse just inside the top of the window, where it activates iPhoto to move the rolls down, I could see the open target roll approaching as rows of thumbnails lowered on the screen. BUT, when it got to where the roll name should have been, iPhoto moved into warp speed and skipped a whole screenful of rolls in a flash. The target roll was now off screen below the window. So I had to move the mouse down and let iPhoto begin scrolling the rolls up. Nice and slow, a few rolls at a time (I keep the rolls I'm not using closed.) Then JUMP - iPhoto goes into hyperspeed again and scrolls the rolls up so that the target roll is again off screen above the window. Again, I moved up to the top so iPhoto would scroll the rolls down. Back and forth, up and down, it kept flying past my target roll. With the target roll open, I could get the rows of thumbnails on screen nice and slow. But I have to reach that roll name, or my photos won't drop into the roll. It's the roll NAME that keeps getting flown past. (As if iPhoto is rejecting more changes to that roll.) If I close the target roll, I can't come within 2 or 3 rolls from it before iPhoto goes warp. Eventually I managed to get the target roll on screen while the mouse was at the top and iPhoto was scrolling down. It scrolled very quickly, but I managed to catch it before it moved off the bottom of the screen. Then I moved my mouse slowly down toward the target roll, one roll at a time (dragging all the while, never releasing) and was finally lucky enough to have the roll name of my target roll stay put and become highlighted. I dropped in the new roll, and it was correctly added to the target roll.
The third time I uploaded and tried to move was even more difficult. It took even longer to catch the target roll on screen. Lots more up and down. All of my imports yesterday (3 newly created rolls) were placed into the same roll.
Jailer Joe, is this what happens to you?
Has anyone else seen or heard of this? Any thoughts as to why iPhoto's roll scrolling goes out of control?

  • Mouse scroll on cover flow skips albums

    Hello all,
as the title states, when I did a mouse scroll, it used to flow through every album. At one point it started skipping some album. I have this problem quite a while now but it starts to get annoying. I have Windows x64 with the latest version of iTunes x64 and Logitech mouse with latest drivers (even thought the mouse doesn't seem to be the problem because mouse-pad scrolling is acting the same). I have tried changing how many lines the mouse roll scrolls each time but when I put one line at a time it skips one album (for 3 lines I think it scrolls 4 by 4). I have hundreds of albums so I'm not sure if there is some kind of algorithm that when you have many albums it goes 2 by 2 so you can scroll them or something... Any help will be appreciated.
    Cheers Jimmy

If not a bug, it's certainly a design oversight rather than intentional behaviour. As far as I can tell it's present on all iPods, it's just more obvious on the classic, and to some extent it's also present in iTunes. If you select the browser view so that you get a listing albums on the top right you might expect that each line would represent a single album, but if you have more than one album with the same title you still only get one line. Workarounds are as Jeff suggested, e.g. *Album - Artist*, appending different numbers of spaces to the album title for each different album or giving each album different Sort Album values. Personally I prefer the first method as it clearly distinguishes albums in the iTunes browser.

  • Camera Roll 100 photos missing.

I updated my iphone 3g to the new software version 4.0.1 a few weeks ago. I had taken over 100 photos from my iphone after that. 2 days ago I plugged in my iphone to my computer to put the pictures on my computer. When I plugged my phone in itunes popped up (the usual) and i guess it synced by itself (usualy it just adds in the new music. I left it alone for like 5 minutes to do its thing. When i go to put the pictures from my iphone i just
    -go to my computer
-under portable devices i go to "my phone"
    -then click internal storage
    -DCIM
-800AAAAA (that's what the folder is called for me)
I did all that i scrolled down and the photos that i have taken after the update are ALL GONE. I was very confused so i look at the itunes but it doesn't say anything i think it just said sync complete. So i look in my iphone, i went to my camera roll, scrolled down, and i see they are also gone from my phone! All i see are the photos from before i updated the phone and a new folder that says photo library with photos I NEVER HAVE SEEN BEFORE!
Please Help me how can i get my photos back!? I TREASURE THOSE PHOTOS! Is there a free software i can use? I'm scared to back up or anything because im afraid it will do more damage. HELP ME!!

Thee only waay I know of to get old camera roll photos back is to restore the iphone from an old backup (itunes, edit, preferences, devices, list of old backups), then after the restore from old backup, import the camera roll photos to your computer.
Note: iTunes will not import camera roll photos. You must import them as if from a digital camera.
