PS CS5 version 12.0 x32 extended for MAC stopped detecting GPU

Up until very recently my Photoshop CS5 was working perfectly. I was able to rotate images and canvas using the Rotate View Tool. I am not quite sure when did it exactly stop working, but I know I used it last time about a month ago. I have installed System Updates to my Mac a couple of times since then, I'm on a Macbook, to which I upgraded the OS to Mac OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), and like I said, the OpenGL has always been detected and I've always been able to rotate images or the canvas when designing in Photoshop in the past.
I've read so many articles and posts about this on the internet, I've spent hours researching and gone to the point of uninstalling and reinstalling PS, and still, when I try to use the Rotation tool I get the following error: "Could not complete your request because it only works with OpenGL enabled document windows.", when I go to Preference/Performance the GPU setting/ Detected Video Card option is empty and the "Enable OpenGL drawing" is not checked and it's grayed out.
I've also checked the PS Help/System Info, and it says:
OpenGL Drawing: Enabled.
OpenGL Drawing Mode: Basic
OpenGL Allow Normal Mode: False.
OpenGL Allow Advanced Mode: False.
OpenGL Crash File: Not Detected.
OpenGL Allow Old GPUs: Not Detected.
OpenGL Version: 1.4 APPLE-1.6.36
Video Card Vendor: Intel Inc.
Video Card Renderer: Intel GMA 950 OpenGL Engine
I have: Rebooted my laptop many times; checked for new system updates and there are no new available, and all my video/devices drivers are up to date. My Mac OS is up to date, as well as all my Adobe products.
I've bumped into articles online that say my video card might be old and not supported, but this could not be the case since the OpenGL was working in the past for almost a year.
Now, I'm not such a techie, so I'd appreciate assitance here with easy to understand step by step instructions on how to solve this issue.
Thanks!

First, you should be on version 12.0.4 or 12.1.
The System Info report says that your video card driver told Photoshop that it was not capable of running the required minimum functions to use OpenGL in Photoshop.  So something changed in the driver.

I am using Indesign cs5 version 7.0.4 with a mac OS X version 10.9.4. I am having an issue where the save and save as option disappears. I am exporting the file as .idml and then resaving to avoid losing work but has to import all the images which takes ages. Any help out there?

I believe there are a couple of similar threads about CC or CC2014 behaving this way that might give yo some hints, but CS5 is not supported on your OS and may not run properly regardless of what you do. An in-place OS upgrade or an attempt to migrate the application would both be major problems for ID, so if you did either of those things you'll want to uninstall, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall.

Are you sure you're in the right library? You have three library folders on your mac: system>library (Never touch that), your username>library and a library at the top level of your hard drive. You want the last one. In recent versions of OS X it's not hidden, but it's hard to get to it. The easiest way is to into the finder preferences>Sidebar and turn on Show Hard disks. Then the name of your hard drive will appear in the list on the left side of any finder window. Click it and the library you want will be in the top level of results.

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac Failure to Install

I purchased the student addition for my iMac (10.8 version and plenty of space for it to be on my computer) of the Photoshop CS6 extended. When I go to my orders to download, you have to download the Akamai Download Manager 834 KB, which I did, and it opened up the download instructions from the Akamai net session interface. Then I went to download the actual product. Akamai Download Manager 1.01 GB, which I did and that puts the visual 'disc' image on my computer. Once I open that, I open the adobe Photoshop CS6 folder and it starts to download but stops and says
    'We've encountered the following issues
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem"
Well that's funny when you click on that, it's discontinued. When I go to the support section, it doesn't help. Nor does the Phone representatives actually help with any Creative Suite products. The online chat though it is within hours, they aren't helping either. I have tried the CC cleaner app, which did nothing to alleviate my problem, and even actually tried download CC to see if it had the old version of photoshop on there-which it does not. As well as accessing the 'hidden' user library files to see if I could override with an install log if in case I had a faulty code. Which I could not find/did not seem to appear to be one. ( Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC)
What can I do for this to work? Am I missing something? I really need photoshop and I don't want creative cloud. I'd rather shoot myself in the head. And I am getting beyond frustrated, so I hope ya'll can help, you are my only hope. Thanks

  • How to install Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac with no DVD drive?

I have bought the Photoshop CS6 Extended for Students for my new Mac and realized that I don't have a DVD drive to install it on. Is there a way that I can install the program without the cd? I have looked into the "free trial then activate" route and Adobe no longer offers a free trial for Photoshop CS6 Extended.

  • Does the download version of PSE 13 include for Mac and pic?

If I buy from Adobe and download the software, will I get the version for Mac. AND PC  like I do when I buy the package?

No, when you buy any download you get a serial number that's for one platform only. You need the boxed version to get a serial number that works on both platforms.

  • What is the latest version of adobe livecycle designer for mac?

    Hello Guys,
I am new for Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
Can some one guide me what is the latest version for Mac.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    HARI

    Hi HARI,
Yes, that short video is demonstrating LC Designer (albeit an earlier version).
The video is showing how to create a dynamic form, where you can add and remove items at runtime and have other dynamic features. Do develop this type of form you will need LC Designer ES2 (current version 9). As I said this runs on Windows, so you would need a virtual machine on the Mac to run Windows.
LC Designer comes with Acrobat X Pro for Windows (Note it does NOT come with Acrobat X Pro for Mac). See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html.
You also need to consider what your users will have to fill in the forms: Acrobat OR Reader. There are some features that will not be available in Reader unless you Reader enable the form. For example users with Reader will not be able to save their data in a form that has not been Reader enabled.
More info on that here: http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
You can also see some short sample forms here, which will give you an idea on some of the dynamic features: http://assure.ly/eEPuCM. All of these were created with LC Designer.
Forms that are created in LC Designer are in accordance with the XFA specification. They are wrapped in a PDF wrapper that allows then to be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However they are not like a standard/native PDF and some standard Acrobat features, like commenting may not be available.
You can also create forms directly in Acrobat, these are called AcroForms. They can be used to collect data, but generally don't have the same level of dynamic behaviour that you saw in the video.
There are plenty of examples on the forums, so I would recommend that you explore these before you make any purchase. There can be a learning curve, depending on whether you have scripted before.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • I'm a bit confused, do I purchase Windows 7 full version, or Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac? I am currently running on OS X Mountain Lion.

I'm new to using Mac, however my new job requires me to work on Windows...Go figure, right after I JUST buy my new iMac...anyways, I was told to use bootcamp, however I'm getting different opinions as to what I'm supposed to purchase...Do I just buy Windows 7 or the Parallel Desktop for Mac?
    Thanks in advanced!

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
         1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows
XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  For Boot Camp
4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow
instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on
installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and
installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the
computer into OS X or Windows.
         2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business,
Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software
virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently
             with OS X.
         3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate,
or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that
enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
         4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows
applications without having to install Windows.  The
Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
         5. VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such
as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.
It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM
             Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
A Windows 7 installer disc is a requirement for Boot Camp and the virualization software.
