PS CS5 - Where are my Smart Sharpen settings?

I'm using PS CS5 and I know I had previously saved several customized smart sharpen settings. They're now MIA (they don't appear as options, just the default is there in the drop down), and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what PS has done with them.
I'm currently using Win 7 Pro x64 if it makes any differece. I've looked in the usual area (C:\user....\ps cs5\presets) but there's nothing there.
Any suggestions would be apreciated. Short of that, it looks like I'll have to create a dummy image and save the settings along with that, which would be crummy, to say the least.
Thanks

Do this:
Save a set of Smart Sharpen settings as XYZZY or some unique name not likely to match any other file on your hard drive.
Search the hard drive for that filename - for example, open a CMD window and type:  DIR C:\XYZZY.* /S
If this turns up the "usual place" and your other settings aren't there, something has deleted them or the "usual place" isn't where it once was.  Have you changed logins (i.e. are you logging into Windows with the same account you used when you saved those settings)?

Where are all the print settings for my HP Officejet 5510 in Mac OS X 10.8.2??  I only have Fast, Fast B & W, and Best.  I want Normal so that it looks good but doesn't print so slowly.  Help.

    Hi,
Change the print settings manually by clicking the lowest drop-down within the print dialog (e.g. the application name, Copies & Pages within MSOffice.
Select Type/Quality and set the print quality as Normal.
You may seve the settings as a Preset from the Presets drop-down menu.

  • Where are the RAW adjustment settings kept?

I have imported my pictures (a complete folder) into Lightroom, made all the adjustments, exported the jpegs... great! Now I want to backup my folder and the RAW adjustment settings I have made.
But where are all the adjustment settings kept, and can I backup those settings for later retrieval with my original RAW files?
    Thanks for all your advice.

    > That's the point, my folders have no .xmp files any where! I did a search on my only drive c: and there is no .xmp files at all. But I can assure you that all my 400 or so RAW files retained all the adjustments in Lightroom. What's going on?
    <br />
<br />Your adjusted files may be residing elsewhere. So, select one RAW image on which you are sure you've edited, and then reveal it in the Finder or the Windows equivalent. Look around there; there certainly should be .xmp files if you've run Export xmp on that folder.
    <br />
<br />Another neat way, for me, anyway, is to Convert all the edited RAW files to DNG; then they'll contain the edits within the file, as currently to JPEGs, TIFFs, and PSD files.

  • Where are the e-mail settings?

Hi, I have an E72, I have set up a POP3 e-mail server and I can receive e-mails with no problem, but I cannot send any! Now, I know how to solve the problem, I simply have to change the outgoing port number to the new one given by my e-mail provider, but I CANNOT FIND WHERE ARE THE OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS!
The E-mail -> Settings -> Mailbox name -> Mailbox settings tab only has one server setting in it, and it says "Server name". There are no separate settings for Incoming and Outgoing servers! Where can I change them? In the Advanced mailbox settings there is only one setting - for the port number, but again not a thing about which are my ingoing and outgoing servers.
    Pls help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    thanks albyzas, thanks thetao.
I have the last version (3.21 I think) and I know where the in/out settings should be located, but here is no such thing under the "Advanced Mailbox Settings"! The only settings I have are the port number and the secure connection on/off. I have this problem since I bought the E72. Previously, I had E71 and it had the in/out settings there!
BTW the provider I use is listed automatically for my country, just below Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo (I don't have to click "Other")
    So I have some questions:
    2) Delete and remake the mailbox.  Don't use Nokia Messaging (their push service) by Declining the terms of service.  Maybe that provides more control?
If I decline them, what client will I be using then?
    3) Can you remove the email client?  I hesitate suggesting that because some people have reported being unable to reinstall...but you can try if you feel daring.
If I remove it, how can I reinstall it later?
    4) Do you recall when the problem started?  If it happened after a firmware update, a hard reset ( *#7370# , default password 12345) will sometimes fix weird issues that occur after installing new firmware.  Be sure to make a backup first.
The Problem started when my e-mail provider decided to change the numbers of their ports several months ago...

  • Where are the group tab settings stored in linux?

I installed a new Linux OS on my system and saved the .mozilla/firefox folder so I can later recover any settings I could lose.
Now I realized I lost all my group tabs after reinstalling, and thought maybe I can recover them from my backed up .mozilla folder.
Does anyone know where I can find the settings for group tabs in the .mozilla folder? (I don't want to copy the entire backup folder over my current folder)
    Thanks,

  • Where are the Auidio/ Video Settings

Capture tells me to adjust the Audio/Video settings. Where are these settings and what do I set them to.

    John,
Set the Easy Setup to AVCHD 1920x1080i  50 or 60 for PAL or NTSC respectively.
Save a Project with these settings assuming your footage is AVCHD.
File>Log and Transfer over USB should do the job.

  • WHERE ARE "DESKTOP" AND "DOCK" SETTINGS STORED?

I want to backup my desktop and dock settings. Where are they stored so that I can do this?
    Thx.
    Mike

If you are backing up your home folder, you are also backing up your user prefs all of which are stored in "Your User Name"/Library/Preferences. There are several other "Preferences" folders that contain "global" prefs, namely /Library/Preferences and /System/Library/Preferences.
One potential "trap" though... corrupted prefs files are often the cause of anomalous system behavour so saved prefs should be copied back into new folders with caution.

  • Where are KDE Battery Monitor settings?

I previously used Debian 7 Stable with KDE 4.8. Back in those days, I could right click on the battery widget, and would see options for "Power settings" and "Battery Monitor settings" where the latter was only settings concerning the widget, ie show charge information, shortcut key, etc.
Now that I'm on Arch with KDE 4.12, When I right click on the battery monitor, the only entry is for "Battery Monitor Settings", but when I click that, I am taken to the menu for what was previously referred to as "Power Settings", that is, system wide things like screen brightness, etc.
Where can I find settings for the Battery Widget itself? For example, I'm trying to get it to show the estimated remaining time when clicked, and I can't find a place to do so. It's gotta be somewhere, right?

So I tried that, but ran into a few snags -
    1. In that fix, they say to add the string showRemainingTime=true under another line about showMultipleBatteries. Unfortunately, since there's evidently not a menu anymore, I can't enable showing multiple batteries, so I'm not 100% sure I added it to the correct location.
    2. After I added that line, it still is not working. For reference, here is my ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc file:
    http://pastebin.com/SiKRS1dh
The line I added is on line number 238.
    Any thoughts?

  • Where are role and administrator settings saved?

We have had issues in the past that have caused us to have to
re-setup our site, including all administrative settings and all
roles and users. Surely all of this is saved somewhere. If we just
knew where, we could backup the info for an easier restore if
    further problems ensue.
Anyone know how to backup site settings?

I got the following reply on a separate forum:
    quote:
For a website that has been administered by Contribute
(Publishing server is not enabled), you would find an _mm folder in
the website root on the remove server. This is a contribute
specific folder and it contains the administrative settings, role
    information and users.
For CPS managed sites, the _mm folder still holds the
information about the administrative settings and role information.
The user information of the sites are stored in the Database folder
of CPS. The Database folder can be found in the following location,
    <CPS Install Path>\Database.

  • Where are the AE render settings in Media Encoder?

I'd like to use Adobe Media Encoder for background rendering, but how do you set the render settings (like bit depth, motion blur, solo switches, guide layers, ect)?
Also, how do you select the output color profile from AME?

    Hi Clint,
Sorry for the long delay on replying, I've been busy. Doesn't look like you've cross-posted this to the AME forum, so I'll take a crack at the answers:
    1) AE renders compositions at a bit depth of 8, 16, and 32 (float). AME can encode frames at 24, 32, 48, and 64 (for ProRes 4444, for example). How do these things relate to each other, and how/why should you use a particular AME bit depth setting for an AE comp?
These numbers all represent bit depth.  AE states bit depth in terms of bits per channel (bpc). AME usually states bit depth in total bits per pixel (bpp = bpc multiplied by the number of channels). It's one of those little inconsistencies that comes from the two apps growing up under different development teams.
RGB has three channels. RGB + Alpha has four channels. Doing the math:
    RGB 8 bpc = 24 bpp
    RGBA 8 bpc = 32 bpp
    RGB 16 bpc = 48 bpp
    RGBA 16 bpc = 64 bpp
So if you want 8-bit output with an alpha channel, you'd set the bit depth in AME to 32. If you don't need an alpha channel, set it to 24. Note that AME doesn't have equivalent options for 32 bpc formats. (If it did, the bpp equivalents would be 96 and 128 bpp!) There are very few such codecs anyway.
    2) What effects does "Use Maximum Render Quality" have on a comp? Does it only come into play if your are encoding to a different resolution to the source comp? Will it change the color processing?
IIRC, the "Use Maximum Render Quality" switch doesn't affect AE comps. It only has an effect when the source is a Premiere Pro sequence. This article has some detail about how the switch affects Premiere Pro sequences:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/10/scaling-in-premiere-pro-cs5.html
    3) Does AME always render at "Full" resolution or does it look at the resolution setting in the AE comp window? What if it's set to "auto"?
    4) Does AME pay attention to the comp window Region of Interest?
    5) Does AME care about the composition motion blur button or does it just look at the layer motion blur settings?
    7) How does AME handle color management? Does it always output in the working space?
These questions all have the same basic answer. When the AE comp is loaded via Dynamic Link, it will be processed using the state of the comp at the time the AE project was saved. Any switches available in the Timeline panel like Motion Blur will be used in their current state, and there is no control over them from the AME side.
Keep in mind that comp viewer switches like Region Of Interest and preview resolution aren't a function of the comp itself, and thus aren't seen by AME. They are a function of the Comp viewer panel. (The difference being the same as between a piece of artwork and the glass of the frame. If the glass is warped then the art looks warped. AME only looks at the artwork without the glass.) Color Management, similarly, while controlled at the project level is interpreted via the Comp viewer panel or by AE's Render Queue; AE's color management is not in the chain of processing used by AME. But you can acheive the same color management transforms via AME by using the Color Profile Converter effect and setting the input and output profiles specifically.
So, what AME sees in an AE comp will be identical to what you see in the Comp panel in AE at full resolution when ROI and any other viewer switches (like the Transparency Grid or guides or color channel selection) are turned off, and without a project working color space being set. From this point the pixels could be affected by AME via scaling or if there is a color space transform inherent to the chosen output format (ex., RGB to YUV).
    6) How does AME decide whether to interlace the render?
This is defined by the Field Order setting in the AME Output Settings. That seems pretty straightforward to me, so if I'm missing something about your question please clarify.

  • Where are the custom export settings saved in Premiere 7.2

In previous versions of Premiere, I could easily find custom export settings I made in Premiere. Now, with the latest upgrade, I can no longer open those settings. I get an error saying they are not valid.
When I create a custom export settind and save it, it is saved and in the list of export settings. I need to copy these settings to distribute to other team members. I name the export setting an unique name, but I cannot find it on my computer. Where does it go? The save window does not have a browse button, just a save button.
Very frustrated with this upgrade so far.

Figured out how to do it.

I am setting up a custom firefox profile and would like to tweak some of the options that are accessed via about:config.
I would like to know where this information is stored and whether I am able to modify these options outside of the browser.

I use KDE on a desktop computer and tried finding where there are time-outs for inactivity of the monitor. It switches off quite early and I don't know where to turn it off.
