PS CS5 WIN XP-64 color hud/gpu problems

I have a Nvidia quadro fx 3400 gpu and am running win xp 64 with ps cs5 64 and none of the color hud, scrubby zoom, rotated display or preview brush size/hardness works. How do i tell if my gpu is supported? I read something about downloading andd installing a registry path to allow openGL in winXP-64 but before i tweak the registry i'd like to know if this card even supports ps cs5. I'm almost sure it supports openGL 2.0. Anyway any info would greatly appreciated.

so if I upgraded from winxp 64 to win7 or vista would the quadro fx3400 work?
How would win 7 run on an older computer (Xeon dual 3.4GHz with 4 gigs ram)
Do you think the regietry hack to enable openGL on win xp64 would work or would it be better /easier to upgrade operating systems?

I have a specific question about pasting, which is the most annoying thing I've noticed (yet) regarding the behaviour of the non modal window types. Ctrl+V puts the clipboard contents in the active document instead of pasting where the cursor is, in the textbox on the ScriptUI window.
Mouse right click + popup menu (Paste) is a workaround, but it doesn't prevent the accident of putting the pastboard contents in the document using the keyboard (you might not even notice). I'd like Ctrl+V to go to the Script UI window, when the Script UI window has focus.
Are there workarounds for this as well?

CS5 / Win - Debug: Treeview crash

Hi
I try to implement a list box in a dialog, not a panel, using tree view. This works in CS3, CS4 and CS5 (Win - release, Mac debug and release). But it crashs with Windows - debug. It crash if I includes the tree view manager in my fr file. If I remove this manager, it doesn't crash, but of course the tree view is empty. I removed all other stuff from my plugin, but if I open the dialog it still crashs.
Any ideas waht I can do?
Any hints, where I can have a look?

Second thought - I haven't done much plugin development in the past year: why would you overload that interface at all?
You typically feed it from some kind of observer, in a straightforward match of tree model changes.
Most of the time that will be something with "lazy" in its name.
If you want those notifications, just hook a different observer to the same model.

Photoshop CS5 (Win) crossgrade to CS6 (Mac)

Hello there,
I've done a bit of research here and elsewhere and I haven't found a complete and current answer. I currently have PS CS5 on my Windows PC (educational discount) and just pulled the trigger on a Mac desktop and I'm planning to switch platforms over time if this works out for me.
It's my undestanding that I should be able to crossgrade from CS5 Win to CS6 Mac. But I'm not quite sure how to do that and how much that will be. Also I'm unclear if that option went away now that things have moved to CC - which I will absolutely and 100% never ever sign up for independent of how cheap they'll make it.
So, can I still do the crossgrade to CS6? And if so how?

You don't actually need to contact Adobe or sign forms to purchase a crossgrade any more. It's all done online.

How do I enlarge tiny menus and tools (CS5, Win 8.1)

I installed Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 8.1 machine (3200x1800pixel resolution). The menus and tools are really tiny---about half the usual size (see image below). This also occurs in Adobe Bridge, but not Acrobat 9.0. No other programs are so affected (e.g. MS Word, Chrome web browser). I have tried lowering the computer's screen resolution without any effect on Photoshop CS5 (other programs appear enlarged then, but not CS5). I have not had any problem when this program was installed on a Windows 7 machine. Any ideas?

You haven't identified the version so I can't tell if offering you contact options for Adobe Support will be of use to you. But they will likely be your only hope of getting resolution unless you just happen to be using the wrong number as the serial number.

GPU Problems with my GT60 2OC-024US

Hi guys!
A couple of days ago, I opened up my GT60 to add a new SSD I bought and, since I was opening it up, I also repasted the GPU and CPU. It was the first time I was doing it on this computer, but its not the first time I do a repasting on a pc. So, everything went smoothly, changed the paste, put the heatsink back in place, and then, when I tried to boot the PC, it got stuck after posting, like waiting from a response from the GPU I guess...
Tried a couple of reboots and nothing worked, so then i proceeded to enter in safe mode to check if it was only a GPU problem and it was. With the integrated graphics i was able to uninstall NVIDIA drivers and then, voilá, I booted normally without problems, EXCEPT, of course, I cant use the dedicated gpu.
Already tried all kinds of drivers, tried opening it up again, repasting, reconnecting the GPU, and nothing works. As soon as the OS tries to use the dedicated GPU (after I install NVIDIA's drivers) the same problem appears. So it seems something has happened with it.
Any ideas or insight on this? I don't know how to proceed. I bought the notebook on the USA but I live in Argentina and i'm not sure if there's official RMA or something around here.

Did you ever think it might be a SSD compatilibty problem?
What is your SSD brand & model? Have you check that SSD website and see if there is firmware update?

AE CS6 crashes at startup - indicating GPU problem

Hi,
I am new to the Abobe suite. Using a MacPro running 10.7 Lion, Intel based processors. Using a Radeon ATI 6xxx video card (2 monitors connected via mini-display, HDMI not used at the moment). Installed AE properly (support desk Adobe verified this remotely). AE CS6 is crashing at startup, indicating a GPU problem. Support desk Adobe has advised to contact 'the Mac guys' in order to see if an update to the video card driver might resolve the issue. Mac support is confirming my system to be fully up to date. From other topics on this forum I noticed more people are suffering (or have suffered) the same problem. However I haven't seen any firm/clear resolution to this problem.
Can anyone tell me (in simple language) what I can do in order to get this configuration to work (ideally without having to replace my Graphics Card - as I believe it is a rather new model that I would expect to be supported)?

i know that asus was working on an updated BIOS to fix the GPU issue, and according to the last post in this thread on the asus support forums (http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20090627114124765&board_id=3&model=G71Gx(BestBuy)&SLanguage=e...), rev. 1201 seems to have done the trick.
i checked the asus support website (http://support.asus.com), and i found that there is an even new version of the BIOS - rev. 1302. i would recommend moving to this BIOS upon unboxing your G71GX.
i have updated the BIOS on both notebooks and desktops before, and the process is fairly painless. i found this link off the asus support site (http://support.asus.com/technicaldocuments/technicaldocuments.aspx?root=198&SLanguage=en-us), and it describes how to update the BIOS. i would recommend having a conversation with your local geek squad if you're not comfortable doing the process yourself.
