Well that's pretty lame, what happened to the Qn I asked, it's not in the subject, looks like I've no choice but to type it out again, poor forum sw.

How does Photoshop CS6 compare across the two OS's, is there feature parity, or is the Windows version far more capable overall?

Is it still possible to just order CS6 if we don't like the new "cloud" subscription thingy we're seemingly being locked into nowadays?

Once we have a license for CS6, does that mean we pay a smaller mthly/annual fee to upgrade to CC later (if we want) compared to those starting with CC?

Finally, is it possible to get CS6 for a very big discount?
I've no intention to use it for commercial purposes, it'll get very light use, but I do want CS6, not some imitation or sister app with a subset of it's features.

It's ridiculous that it costs way more than a entire OS...
A lot of professional grade software costs more than the OS. CG modeling software like Maya is $1300 if I recall correctly.
Photoshop Elements 12 or Lightroom 5.3 is less expensive and may be all you need.

Is this possible? If I move the app from a Mac to Windows it isn't looking like an app anymore. It's looking like a set of folders instead. Do I need to change publish options? changeing the extension to .exe didn't fix it. Help appreciated!

The published AIR captive runtime in Flash from Windows and Mac will have the following structure -

The entry point that loads the Captive runtime is different in the above cases.
Hence we need to explicitly publish from the required platform.

CS2 for Windows - cost of upgrade to CS6

Can I upgrade CS2 for Windows to CS6 for Windows 7, and what is the cost? I am also currently subscribed to CC for the Mac, which will be continued. Thank you.

Apologies, I should have been clearer at the outset. I do all my bird photography on the Mac OSX platform via a desktop as well as a MBP when away. So, I have already two computers authorised as required and limited to. Lately, I have started astrophotography and the majority of my software is Windows 7 based, thus for ease I acquired a third computer, a PC laptop, for this purpose. I did start with Photoshop for Windows and upgraded as far as CS2 before changing to CS3 for the Mac and eventually (CS4, 5, and 6) to CC for the Mac. The question now is: can I deauthorise the Mac laptop in order to authorise the PC laptop and change back and forth as many times as I wish, and as often as I want? I am the only user, of course.
In reply #4 above, I had decided to simply copy my files onto an external drive and work off that in CC on the Mac, as I have been doing. Seeing I had CS for Windows in the fist place years ago, I was trying to find a solution at little or no cost to me, to upgrade that Windows version, but I guess it's not possible, unless your answer to my question above is affirmative. How do I download 32bit Drivers for Windows 7 on Bootcamp for OSX 10.8.1?

Here is the deal,
I am a computer technician for a library and I am installing Windows 7 on four brand new Apple MiniMacs with OSX 10.8.1 on them (don't ask). The Mac came with no install Disks and the Bootcamp Assistant only downloads 64bit drivers for windows. I am installing Windows 7 32bit on them and I need the drivers. How can I get them? Can somebody assist me please?

I downloaded and installed cs6 for windows 7 32 bit and cant open it to use,i get the message" adobe photoshop cs6 has stopped working" I have tried different graphics drivers but still the same. My other adobe softaware works fine,IE: elements11 and lightroom4. Any ideas?

Acrobat XI Pro for OSX can't open password-protected pdfs created using Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows

I am having problems opening password-protected files created on a PC using Acrobat 9 Pro. I am running a MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4 with Acrobat XI Pro. When I attempt to enter the password when prompted, a dialogue box pops up saying that I've entered the incorrect password. After many attempts, I am certain that the password entered is correct -- this is reinforced by the fact that i am able to open the same document using Mac's Preview software.

I was suddenly having the same problem in Acrobat XI Pro for Windows (recently upgraded to CC from Acrobat X). For the past while I've sometimes had to use the "insert from file" tool to get a page added from another file. I couldn't figure out why dragging sometimes would no longer work, but was too busy to go looking for a solution until tonight.
The solution was given by JoshTatum24 above. Switch from a scrolling page display to single page display. Now I can drag pages between documents again. THANK YOU Josh!
Oh, and CORREAdmin, it does not matter whether the hand or arrow selection tool is active, my mouse pointer is always an arrow when positioned in the page thumbnails panel. Switching selection tools does not make a difference in dragging, but switching between scrolling and single page display definitely DOES make the difference.

Install instructions for CS6 upgrade for WIndows missing - in what order should files be run?

After over 14 days of dealing with the idiots at Adobe Support, opening and closing of 2 cases multiple times, promised emails not being sent (and being blamed for having my email set up to filter out Adobe emails), attempts to charge me for the already approved "free" upgrade, and then having an order for a physical disk version of the CS6 upgrade cancelled by some bonehead, I finally was able to download the CS6 upgrade files. Only to discover that there are no installation instructions for Windows if you did not use the Akamai download manager (which I did not).
There are a total of 6 files in the download directory, all downloaded from the CS6 upgrade download page.
- In what order should the files be run? Just run the .exe files, or do some files need to be extracted/unzipped first?
A second question: my CS5.5 version was never installed, and never registered.
- Will the CS6 upgrade accept its serial number directly, or do I have to do something else through Adobe Support?

The Speech Analyzer Models were downloaded separately, from another page. I assume they should be installed after everything else is installed and working.

Thanks for the help. I installed CC and it fixed everything but Photoshop. I guess I will have to use my old laptop for images until Adobe fixes the problem. Do you know of a place where we can send issues like these to Adobe?

After a little experimenting I have DONE IT !!!
In the folder "Program Files " "Adobe" "Premiere CS6" open the text file called cuda_supported_cards.txt.
Add your card to the list and hopefully it works.
Open a new session of Premiere, Goto "Project Settings" "General" and under Video Rendering and Playback "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration" should show as active.
Now I am going to tackle After Effects.

While compiling my application on Flash CS6 with Air for iOS 3.4, I am getting the error given below:

1) The vibration ANE from Adobe does not support Windows.
2) The iOS simulator (adl) is not a virtual machine but rather it is a native Windows app, thus the platform your app runs on is Windows not iOS.
What Adobe needs to do to avoid confusing everyone is one of two things:
1) Include a stub for Windows (and MacOS) in the Vibration ANE.
2) Make it possible to deploy an app to a platform where the ANE is not supported, but produce a runtime error upon an attempt to use the ANE. The developer could then put logic in the app to detect the underlying platform and make adjustments.
