PS CS6 zoom sometimes affects all open images

I'm trying to figure out how to replicate this issue. This is on Win7 x64 with PS CS6. On an infrequent basis, when I zoom in on one open image, the same zoom magnification will be applied to all the other images I have open. When this happens and I have several image files open, you can imagine it's annoying to have to reset the view for all those open images.
It looks like the zoom inheritance sometimes happens when I drag a layer from a zoomed-in image onto another open image window that's at a different zoom magnification. But it doesn't happen every time.
If this is a "feature" please tell me how to avoid or disable it.

The shift+Ctrl+0, + and - or 1 are shortcuts I want to ask to have implemented as a JDIs on the feedback site. Also, a shift+clicking the contextual menus of the zoom/hand tool (or spring-loaded ones) Done: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_jdi_allow_more_zoom_all_wi ndows_shift_shortcuts#add_product_label
Note: the CTRL or ALT+Spacebar do respect the Shift modifier to work on all open document.
I'm wondering if I will not also ask to have the double-click (and shift-double click) of the zoom and hand tool not register as a tool change (be spring loaded) done: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_jdi_make_double_clicking_t he_zoom_or_hand_tool_a_spring_loaded_event?topic_tools=open
Thanks for that feature, Chris, I use it a lot!

  • Is there anyway to have a PSE type filmstrip view of all open images in PhotoshopCS4?

PSE 7 has a scrolling filmstrip view of all open images at the bottom of the workspace, making it very easy to see and select all open images. Is there anyway to have this feature in Photoshop CS 4?

Not really, but you can experiment with the drop-down menu in the top bar.

  • How do I stop all open images from resizing together?

I don't feel like I recall this happening in the past.  If I have multiple images open in Photoshop CS5, and I zoom the one I am working on, or zoom out -- they ALL zoom in or zoom out at the same time, even though I am not working on that one at that time.  Is there some setting that just lets you zoom the image you are working on at the time?  Thanks.

Thanks Chris --for some reason I couldn't see the options bar at the top -- so easy -- I think I need coffee this am. lol
Thanks alot!  Changes that start happening for no reason with all these softwear updates drives me nuts daily it seems.

  • How do you view all open images without opening each tab?

I have been using CS2 for ages, and recently switched over to a recent version of Photoshop. I'm using a mac. In CS2 I was able to drag my mouse to a corner of the screen and view all open files. Can I still do this somehow? Or do I have to open each tab to see the image? I'm looking for a quick way to view thumbs of all my images. Please help!

If you dislike tabs turn off
Photoshop > Preferences > Interface > Open Documents as Tabs
Photoshop > Preferences > Interface > Enable Floating Document Window Docking
    And maybe try
    Window > Arrange > Tile

  • Save all open images

I didn't find this when I did a forum search, but I find it hard to believe that there isn't a feature request for this already. Photoshop needs a "Save All" feature. I've seen suggestion to just make this an action, but the problem with that is that you must continually hit the action in order to perform it. Maybe I'm just missing something but I find it odd that a photo editing program, in which it is quite possible that you could have dozens of images open at the same time has no "Save All" or "Autosave" features...still.

If you want to give it a try paste the following text into a new file in ExtendScript Toolkit (part of Photoshop’s installation, Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities - CS5/ExtendScript Toolkit CS5) and save it as a jsx-file into Photoshop’s Presets/Scripts-folder.
After restarting Photoshop the Script should be available under File > Scripts and can be assigned a Keyboard Shortcut directly, recorded into an Action, (in CS4 and CS5) be used in a Configurator-Panel or started from ExtendScript Toolkit directly.

  • Photoshop CS6, Mac OS, switching through open images with OS command no more possible

Using Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) on a Mac Pro OSX v 10.6.8 it is no more possible to switch through open image windows with the OS related key combo "command <".
There is also no Photoshop own configurable command available, that could solve this issue.
CS5 or versions below always allowed that, and I very much miss this practical and fast switching between images, much faster then having to maneuver down through the "windows" menue.
    Anybody knows a solution?

  • PS CS6 stand alone  won't open images

Using new Win8.1 laptop that recently have displayed Sony Raw images.Using PS CS6 stand alone which does nothing when asked to update. Adobe asked for ID verification which I did but didn't help. Same problem with Bridge.

The forums are acting strange, so first let's reboot your PC. Log in as Administrator.
Uninstall Photoshop CS6 from the Control Panel, and checkmark Remove Preferences.
Then to be sure, download and run the cleaner tool so we don't have any remnants interfering with your reinstall.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Look through the instructions before running the Tool and when you are comfortable with it, run the Cleaner.
Reinstall. If you don't trust your discs (sometimes they go bad) download the Photoshop CS6 installer here.
Download CS6 products and have your serial number ready. If this is an upgrade, the serial from a qualifying product CS4 or CS5 will be needed.
I would also ask you to turn off any Anti-virus programs before installing, but you may wish to disconnect from the Internet before you do that. That's up to you.
    That should remove all doubt.

  • Can I run an action on all open files?

I'm converting some of my images to grayscale with an action. The images are spread across hundreds of folders and only some of the images need to be converted. I want to be able to look at the image to make sure it should be converted (or not, as the case may be). So I end up with, for a particular folder, maybe 20 open images.
Then I run the action manually on each image that is still open.
QUES: Is there a way to select "run action on all open images".
I know I could do it in Batch by moving all the files to a new folder, but every time I try to re-learn how to batch (I only resort to batch every year or two), an hour later I'm still reading the Help manual and nothing has been accomplished. So, an action it has to be, or manually.

Might be quicker to set the action to a hot key, open all files in the folder and then inspect them and if they need the action, hit the key, otherwise ctrl-w to close unchanged.

  • LR4 to CS6 not opening image.

Right clicking on image in LR4, then selecting open with CS6.  CS6 program starts fine, but no image?  If I select CS5, it works fine.
Also, I tried a workaround, by exporting the file to my desktop (DNG).  Right clicking on the image, and selecting CS6, again will not open the image?  If I open CS6, then Menu>file>open, all files are greyed out until I select "all documents" in the enable menu?

    Thanks for support.
My posting is based on my experience with my main computer (MAC tower pro) at home.  but I also have a mac book pro that i use for work/travel.  this also has CS5, LR4 and CS6, and when i tested this when I got in the office this mornig, it worked fine - no problems.
i think when I get home this evening, i'll r-install CS6 and see if that works.  for the record, my macbook is running:
    LR4.1RC with CR7.0
    CS5 12.0.4 with CR 6.6.0.261
    CS6 13.0 with CR 7.0.0.308

  • CS6 won't open images

I can't get images to open in CS6. Get the following message. "Adboe Photoshop CS6 stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working." Reistalled several times. This error also happens with Elments 10.  Installed older verson of Elements 7 and this works fine. HP ENVY 64 bit, plenty of ram, gigs etc. Spent several hour with HP support, checking system, no virus's etc. Can open images in Bridges...Camera Raw

I'm just suggesting that I have to look at all here...that's all. I' m looking for help, trying to resolve an issue has not been changed on my part since I install CS6 7 month ago along with NIK, no updates, no nothing.   You guys got plug - in on CS6 to run third party software, that's why it's there...Correct?  Somewhere, other than yourself, someone at Adobe must have come across these issues with plug-ins and have some sort of guidance.  I read all the issues with CS6 and they are not all related to third party software.  So don't come like to me like Adobe doesn't have issues with a $675.00 program and you all "walks on water." It always the "others guys fault.  I expect support. for Adobe, NIK, Epson and all the other folks That I buy from I'm a photographer, not a software expert. Expect Adobe to help resolve an issue, not blame others....Hope I', clear on this. One way or the other I'll get this resolved with or without Adobe's help.
And if I do run another plug in and it doesn't work then for sure I would expect Adobe to replace the CS6

  • Not all selected images open in photoshop

I have lightroom 3 and cs5. When I select images from lightroom and open in photoshop sometimes not all of the selected images open. It might miss a random image or 2 or 3. All the images are clearly highlighted to open and lightroom confirms the correct amount with "selected images". Obviously driving me mad as I have to go back and try to figure out which image is missing from say 20 or 30 images.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

I have the same exact problem as the OP.
Also running OS X 10.6.4. and have 12Gb RAM. I also usually open ~50 images at a time to edit in PS CS5 and there are always a random ~5 that don't open. I tried opening a smaller number of files (~25) and still I get about 5 not showing up.
I don't think this has to do with bottlenecks, looks more like a bug. The files that won't open, are for some reason scattered, not for example the last 5 chosen or last 5 in the grid. I rebuilt and optimised the cat. several times, and always work with just LR3 and PS CS5 running, so no other progs are hogging the system resources.
I'm finding LR3 very frustrating and despite the new features are great, it is more buggy and unpredictable than LR2.
Are you all using the latest 3.2 RC? There was a bug in LR3 where files with an '&' in the file/foldername (or a few other characters) would not open in Photoshop. That has been cured in 3.2RC.

I just upgraded to the latest software for my pages.  When I opened an old document it stripped out all the images I had in my tables.  How do I get them back

    Don't save. Close the documents.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Pages 5 will damage/alter older files, something Apple didn't tell its users.
Pages 5 is a severely stripped down version with over 90+ features removed.
We recommend trashing/archiving Pages 5 after Exporting any files you may have saved back to Pages '09.
Also rate/review Pages 5 in the App store.

What edition of LR 5? What edition of ACR does PSCS 6 contain. If they are not parallel (same edition number x in [5 or 8].x ), is LR making a tiff or psd rendition of the image?
