PS Elements 4,0 irritations (are they my fault)

My irritation level with elements is elevated to some degree. Why?
1) When opening an image elements brings it in out of focus then as it finishes loaded it goes sharp. My clients think I have out of focus images. I would rather they see in focus all the time even if it takes a few more moments.
2) I can not get the film strip to be on the bottom of the screen instead of on the right screen side.
3) It is a two step process to delete an image from the original folder. You delete it once and it comes up with a dialog asking if you want to delete it from the original folder, too. You have to click a box and enter to get rid of the image.
4) Have an option (or my preference would be to get rid of the library) and work from the original folder. When we open up Elements there is always residual images from the last job in the library. The library just creates a lot of extra work.
5) Bring back a hefty Album (that reads all professional files like DCR and CR2, etc)or bridge as a stand alone. I don't believe it is a stand alone today or I would dump elements for bridge. I want something that does what you think it is doing from the original folder.
If I am wrong on any of this please make me aware as it will decrease my frustration level. Thanks so much.

1) Under what circumstances? What do you mean by "opening" an image precisely?
2) Do you mean in Photo Review [F11] or what?
3) I always make reject images Hidden [ALT/F2], which is instant. Then later, I come back and do all the deletes in one go.
4) What library?
5) I don't understand:

Thanx so much for pointing me in that direction. It definately says, " and in 64-bit or 32-bit mode on Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1;" which means it should be able to run in 64- mode but I'm not sure how to make that happen. I work for a software company and our software has two different versions that are installed. So do you know if I have the wrong version or do they have some kind of switch that I missed setting on installation?

It's important to keep in mind that the picture files are NOT stored in the Organizer. They are not stored in Lightroom or Bridge either...
The organizer is based on a catalog which stores the pictures properties, mainly the location of the pictures on your drive(s). It's the same idea of catalogs in Lightroom, and the nice thing is that Lightroom can convert organizer catalogs to its own format. The most obvious way for you will be to use Lightroom.
Bridge is a file browser which is a different way than to use catalogs.

Id and name, are they both necessary?

In creating an Anchor there is both the "id=" and "name=". Are they both necessary, since it seems like the specified field would be the same in all (?) cases. If both are required, is there a reason? Thks.

Only the ID tag is neccessary, the name tag for anchor elements is not supported in HTML5

If you are using Premiere Elements 9 Mac, then the next thing to do is to get details on what you mean by "patch files".
There are no "patch files" as you describe. There is a Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update that needs to be used with the program. That you install and do not uninstall for best performance of the product.
What I am wondering is this. Do you mean by patch files and the description that you give Scratch Files?
If so, then you are looking at preview files and conformed audio and video files.
I am strictly an Elements Windows person so you will have to help me translate my Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Windows instructions into meaningful ones for you as it relates to file location.
Under Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disk, where do you have Video Previews and Audio Previews directed. At that location, you should be able to delete these files. They are automatically generated when you render Timeline content. The consequence of deletion is that you will need to render again content in the project from which they came (if that project still exists). Go to the location shown and delete.
Then look to see where the Media Cache is directed. Those are conformed audio and video files (cfa and pek). They can be deleted and will be regenerated by the program if and when needed. Go to the location shown and delete.
Then look to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and the Media Cache Database. That is targeting conformed video files (.mcdb file extension). They can be deleted and will be regenerated by the program if and when needed. You can click on the Clean button there to get rid of them instead of following the path to them as shown in the Media Cache Database area.
Do not delete any source media that went into projects after they were saved closed.
Please review the above and do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.

Multiple Realms - What good are they?

If I create multiple realms in WL7 domain, how are they used by the server
to auth/auth a user? Is the default realm always used and the other realms
used only in case of failure?
Is there a way to configure an enterprise application to use a particular
realm for its auth/auth? Or do all applications always use the default
realm. It would be cool if weblogic-application.xml had a <default-realm>
element.

Are They Doing Away With The Mini?

Okay, im not sure if im the first one to notice this but did anyone else see that the iPod store dosent even sell accessories for the Mini anymore? Are they trying to eliminate it all together? They should realise that some of their first customers before this iPod craze started still have them!!! Im really frustrated with the company, if anyone knows some good sites to find iPod Mini accessories EXCEPT ebay.com(ive been there 100 times) let me know. I have no intention of changing to the new and improved iPods because i love how mine is different.. some changes need to be made so that everyone that has an iPod can have some options!

Towards the bottom of the page is a link to allow you to "Shop by iPod Type". Click on that.
You should see the newer iPod models at the top. Find your mini further down on the page and click on it. The Apple Store appears to have 188 iPod mini accessories for you to choose from.
Look for iPod accessories at places like j & r .com, amazon.com, macmall or dozens of other online outlets. Most local stores don't carry the older iPod accessories, or at least, not many accessories to choose from. It seems to be the common business model for hardware companies to try and make money from recent purchasers.

Apple Midi loops... where are they located on my computer?

I'm wanting to use the Garage Band midi loops in other audio programs. Where can I find them on my computer? I have no problem locating to .aif loops, but the midi loops are very well hidden. Are they even accessible? Any tips, hints?

Are you talking about Photostream or are you just talking about importing your photos to your computer for safe storage? A sync does not do anything with photos in the Camera Roll. Syncing of photos goes in the other direction from the computer to the phone. The act of moving photos from the iPhone is an import, using whatever photo software you have on the computer, such as the Import utility for Windows computers and iPhoto for the Mac.

(The x64 would most likely mean 64 bit). It may be a Windows based application/plugin, but since I had never heard of either, I'm only guessing there. If you do a search systemwide for it and don't find it plus don't know why it's there, I'd say throw it in the trash (don't empty it yet - make a note of the file path just in case you do have something installed that needs it so you can move it back).
Glad to hear it's not a torrent; some people use those not realizing that quite often there is a price to pay for downloading stuff for free that costs money elsewhere - the software packages quite often include little "add-ons" = malware which you really don't want.

I have a web page that links up to a MYSQL database. I use JSP files to process the database queries from an HTML form. However, I am having an issue after moving the code from MYSQL 5.0 and JDK 1.5 to a machine with MYSQL 4.X and JDK 1.4.X
I am enabling user to enter several pieces of search criteria that I, in turn, use to build the SQL syntax statement. And I test to see which HTML fields the user has entered something into so that the SQL only includes those where statements.
I first had the following to process the individual search criteria into SQL where statements:
String tester1 = request.getParameter("tester");

so if the user enter "Tommy in the tester field as a search criterion this part of the SQL would be

Then I build the select statment with only the where statements that the user is interested in (and provided search criteria on):

This worked on the previous machine. However, it no longer works on the machine with the older apis. So I have tried everything to weed out the blank database fields so they are not factored in the query (if they are they return nothing as these fields are required to be entered into the database). So I am at a loss. It appears that I am not testing for the correct value that the browser is sending to my JSP file when a user does not enter a value in the field. What other than "" and null are there? I have tested for one or the other and both. I am at a loss now as to what to do. I am only concerned with IE6/7 and Firefox 1.5
I output what the value being sent to the JSP file was and it was something like "The tester value is:". So, basically it isn't anything ("").
Can anyone help me here?

Rule #1 when comparing strings: use the equals() method, rather than == or !=
You only use == when checking for null, or checking to see if it is the same object.

Preferences/Compsing/set to Rich Text (only then you can use bold etc).
Then Rightclick the toolbar in Mail, and clcik Customize the toolbar.
Put the icons (with or without text) that you want on your toolbar.

When I back up my musical files where are they stored?

I got a nano a couple of years ago and put all my albums on it (synced through i-tunes). I hadn't used my nano for a few months and when I went back to it my library seemed to have been replaced.......is it possible that my teenage son overwrote the nano?. Where are my files actually backed up - would it be on the laptop I used during the backup process (even though I was signed on to I-tunes at the time) or are they in fact backed up remotely through the I-tunes site.
It is all so confusing - and frustrating.
I searched for my song library on my Click-free back up device but it does not seem to have stored the songs.....just stored the link to I-tunes.
Could somebody direct me on how to solve my problem.

Your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and can be synced back to your nano as you did originally. Have you opened iTunes and clicked on Music to see if your music is still there?
