PS Elements 6 for Mac - Spanish keyboard shortcuts

A colleague uses a Spanish (SORT) keyboard on his Mac and cannot work out how to expand and contract the brush in PS ELements 6 (normally "[" and "]" on a US/UK keyboard, but a complete mystery on a Spanish one).
Is there a resource which shows exactly where PSE keyboard shortcuts are on various international keyboards?
PSE6 - Mac - Spanish keyboard.

Thanks, Barbara. I couldn't find it in your book (which I treasure), but I will pass that on to my amigo. He'll have to chop to the English keyboard for when he wants to work in PSE. I think that should be easy enough. Thanks again, Geoff

  • Photoshop CS4, MAC, Spanish keyboard shortcut for brush size...

    OK.
I work with an iMAC and a Mac Book Pro.
My CS4 is genuine English language software.
But having bought my computers here, in Spain, the keyboards are, naturally, the Spanish ones.
    So....
I'd like to use the brush size short cuts, which in all English based PS tutorials, are the  [ and ].
But when I try this, it doesn't work.
    Any hints?

Thanks Christoph. I actually tried this with my iMAC yesterday but CS4 didn't seem to accept my "suggestions".
However, I tried it a few minutes before reading your post in my MAC Book Pro, and it worked!!!
Let's see what happens later when I try it again with my iMAC. It may be a question of CS4 being reluctant to accept certain keyboard strokes.. and not others. In the case of the shortcust for brush size modifications, in my MAC Book Pro, CS4 accepted the "." and the "," as the newly introduced shortcuts, and rejected others that I had "suggested"
    ... the mysteries of life....
I'll let you know what happened later.
    Cheers.

  • Language for Premiere Elements, for MAC

    Hello,
What's the reason for doesn't launch Adobe Elements for MAC (last version = 12) in spanish language?
    Thanks

    tutan25
Some purchased Adobe Premiere Elements Editor or Adobe Premiere Elements Quick Editor from the Mac App store instead of Premiere Elements Mac from Adobe.
I checked online regarding the Mac App store and their Premiere Elements offered...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/purchases-mac-app-store-faq.html
looks like last date on document is around May of 2013.
    Note that even there
Spanish is not an included language for "Photoshop or Adobe Premiere Elements".
    Curious.
I suspect only Adobe has the answer for no Spanish version of the product. You could contact Adobe via Adobe Chat to determine what workaround, if any, exists for those wanting a Spanish version of the product.

  • Downloaded elements for mac air and is in german

elements for mac air downloaded in german would like english

It is likely due to the settings in your Language & Text Preference Pane.  You will want to check the Preference pane and ensure English is at the top of the list.

  • Photoshop Elements for Mac OSX 10.5.6 Version?

I'm confused. Is there an Elements for Mac in Version 7. I called the sales line and they told me that for a Mac I would choose Version 6 for Mac??? Is Version 7 for Windows equal to Version 6 for Mac?
    Thanks!

Yes, there is no version 7 for mac, but it doesn't really matter, since most of the changes between 6 and 7 were bug fixes in the organizer and the push to use photoshop.com. In the editor, there aren't huge differences between the two programs, just a couple of new tools. For 10.5.6 PSE 6 is the one you want, especially if you have an intel mac.

  • Photoshop Elements for Mac - Three Versions Installed

    Hi there,
I'm cleaning up stuff on my iMac and find I have three purchased versions of PhotoShop Elements for Mac installed, V4, V6 and now V8.  Can I safely remove the old V4 and V6 versions without them affecting anything in V8?
Also, there are other versions of related software, such as Adobe Bridge, then Adobe Bridge CS3 and CS4.  Can the original and CS4 versions be removed.
What else might have multiple versions relating to Photoshop Elements?
Can I remove these by simply deleting them from the Applications or is there a process which needs to be followed, i.e., an Uninstall?
    Guidance much appreciated.
    Lynn

"Never delete anything, just buy a bigger hard drive"!
After I admit to being "slightly eccentric", let me say I don't know why you even need to uninstall any of them. The only caveat there is you can't run two versions simultaneously.  I have PSE- 5 & 7 installed on one of my computers, and I import the same file into both catalogs, while duplicating the folders on a separate HDD also. You can never be to sure, or is that too insecure, I'm not really sure.

  • Choosing paper type in Photoshop Elements for mac

How do I select paper type in PS elements for Mac OS Lion 10.7?

You do this in the OS X print window that appears after you click Print in the PSE print window. You may need to expand the window by clicking the Show Details button, and then you'll see a pulldown menu in the middle of the window where you make your choices for paper, ink, etc.

  • Blank DVD Template in Prem. Elements for Mac

Years ago when I was a Windows user I LOVED using Premiere Elements to import and edit home videos. The editing, chaptering etc was so easy and I I was really happy with the final product. One thing I really liked was when I created the DVD menus etc I had access to a blank DVD template so I could use my own background picture etc. I never cared much for the "themes". Is there a way with the new prem elements for MAC to have a blank DVD template?

As usual and as I remember you to be you are so helpful! What I would like is to have to custom templates. The first would be just a generic background where I could insert my own picture. I don't use video link boxes or anything so I prefer the links to the "menu markers" to be just text. For instance, say I am making a DVD of a theatre performance. I would like a general "play all" button that will play the entire performance. I would also use a "Act 1" button and a "Act 2 button". I do chapter each scene but to avoid having 10 pages of "scenes" I'd prefer the "scenes" to not be accessible from the main menu. Most every DVD from theatre to concerts to home movies I do like this. I only like to have one main menu menu. No submenus. I used to have 1 custom template that did that. The second one would be exactly the same but would offer a "scenes" button in the instance I did want to add a "scene" menu as well. I really, really hope this makes sense.....
And I don't want to come across as crazy, but when I installed the demo on PE9 on my mac, I only have one template called "fun" and I can't change the background image. There is a little dropbox within the menu that I can add a video or pic, but that's only a small hole in the template, the rest of the background I can't change. I'd be happy to take a screen cap if I am not describing it correctly...
Short story long, it sounds like Steve both templates you said are for free on your site will do what I am needing to do. How do I go about downloading them?

  • I downloaded Elements for Windows when what I wanted was Elements for Mac. Now what?

I really thought I downloaded Elements for Mac, but apparently I got Elements for Windows which does me NO good.
    How can I fix this?

    Photoshop Elements?
Just download the Trial version and activate that with your serial number when you install.

Excuse me for my english I hope you can understand me

Maria.garcia.arcos are you purchasing Photoshop and Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe directly?  If so multiple languages should be supported.  I would recommend contacting our support team directly at Contact Customer Care if you have any questions regarding your specific order.

  • Suggestion for a New Keyboard Shortcut

I'd like to suggest a way of increasing the efficiency of editing captions and other metadata in Aperture by adding a keyboard shortcut that always serves to move to the next image in the viewer. For example, Command-Shift-] (or something) to move to the next image in the library. Right now, I think only arrows move to the next image, but that doesn't work if you are editing in a text box, so you have to use the mouse or trackpad.

  • Fix for System Preferences Keyboard Shortcuts crash

This is not a question, but a solution to a problem that proved difficult to identify and fix for me and three Apple Support personnel, so I thought I should post it here in case others encounter the same issue. I spent a lot of time searching the web and Apple Discussions for this and related issues did not come up with any solutions.
After migrating from Snow Leopard on 2009 MacBook Pro to Yosemite on a new MBP using the Migration Assistant, things went surprisingly smoothly for the most part, until I opened the Keyboard pane of System Preferences. Then, clicking on the Shortcuts tab immediately caused System Preferences to crash, reproducibly.
Crash Reporter pointed loosely to a keyboard-related preference setting. But "com.apple.preference.keyboard" is the name of an OS process, not a .plist file. I searched the web to try to find out where Keyboard Shortcut settings are stored in Yosemite, and also for a possible way to reset the settings to default in Terminal (e.g. using the "defaults" routine), without success. (Apple Support was not happy that I had Terminal open when they shared my screen, and seemed never to have heard of this routine).
    Process:               System Preferences [948]
    Application Specific Information:
    objc_msgSend() selector name: retain
    com.apple.preference.keyboard v.14.0 (Keyboard)
objc[948]: GC: forcing GC OFF because OBJC_DISABLE_GC is set
Repairing disk permissions, rebooting in Safe Mode, zapping the PRAM, and trashing ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences, some keyboard-related .plist files, and the system prefs and International prefs caches did not fix the problem. With Apple Support, we isolated the problem to my user account, as the same crash did not occur in a test account, or in another account migrated at the same time. Nevertheless, Apple's techs had me removing various menu items and programs also running in these accounts that I had deactivated (Sophos AntiVirus, Little Snitch, etc), and downloading and reinstalling Yosemite, which seemed unlikely to address the cause, given that my main user account was the only one affected.
Apple never had me check 3rd party preference panes (which I should have thought to do earlier myself). Opening and closing an older version of Default App ((RCDefaultApp 2.0.1), a free 3rd party utility, in the Preferences pane, transiently solved the problem. However, it recurred on removing it, and was not fixed by installing the latest release of this preference pane, nor did removing three other 3rd party preferences panes (MacFUSE, a Citrix app, and Flash Player).
Finally I went back to ~/Library/Preferences and looked for any files that had been modified around the time the problem transiently disappeared, and stumbled upon com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist. After viewing its contents with Property List Editor and finding this article, I thought that this file was likely the problem.
I logged into my root account, verified that Shortcuts worked fine there, and that this file changed with a change in Shortcut settings, and (after renaming the offender to save it as a backup), replaced the file in my main user account with a copy of the one from the root account.
I repaired permissions in the offending account, rebooted, and voilà - problem solved!
NB If you are in a similar situation, before trying this fix (at your own risk!), I strongly advise backing up your computer first, and saving a copy of the presumed offending file in case you have to put it back because of unforeseen consequences. You do not need to enable and use the root account; instead you could log in to a new administrator account, or another user account, verify that Shortcuts works fine there (it would not be a bad idea to set up any user-defined App Shortcuts you want there); and copy the file to a shared folder.
Then switch back into the offending account, go to your user Library/Preferences folder (~/Library/Preferences using Go To Folder in Finder), and replace com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist in that account with the one from the shared folder. You should then repair disk permissions afterwards and restart.
If it works, Shortcuts should open fine. Be sure to check each category  in the left-hand panel of the Shortcuts panel (e.g. LaunchPad & Dock, Mission Control, etc.) for conflicts, and resolve those by disabling the offending duplicate key combination assignments (I had two, marked by yellow triangle alerts).

    Thanks, V.K., for your comments.
I wrote: Enter is accepted, but it's treated the same as Return
not for me. it's both displayed and treated differently. I suspect what you are seeing is a byproduct of using a haxie such as Menu Master.
no it's not. it's treated differently.
In Leopard, Menu Master let me assign Command+Enter to Address Book > Edit Card. When I attempt the same using Keyboard Shortcuts, both Command+Return and Command+Enter are displayed as Command plus a "return arrow." After that, in Address Book, both Command+Return and Command+Enter invoke the "Edit Card" menu action.
    not for me.
if you want to use those keys in the shortcuts use one of the many 3rd party app launchers. any one of them will let you do this: Qucisilver, Butler, Spark, Launchbar, ikeys, quickeys etc.
I've been using QuicKeys since the beginning of time, and I have some experience with Butler and LaunchBar. They're useful for what they do. But, as far as I know, none add keyboard shortcuts that are displayed directly in the menus. That display feature is what makes Menu Master and Systems Prefs > Keyboard Shortcuts so attractive.
that's because Menu Master is a haxie. none of the other programs mentioned are. you want such functionality you are going have to use a haxie. personally - i stay away from them as they destabilize the system.
When I'm considering new shortcuts, I use KeyCue to display all current shortcuts in a single display. KeyCue now displays QuicKeys shortcuts in the same display, which is a big help.

  • Adobe elements for Mac and CS5 for Mac

Hi, I have two full licenses for photoshop, one for elements and one for CS5. Would it be possible for me to swap the Elements 8 (mac version) for Elements 8 for PC. I want to teach my son to use Elements for his college work, while he has a PC and I have a mac. I bought the Elements for a course that only used Elements but quickly as I moved on I had to use full CS5. I can't remember if I used the elements serial number to upgrade to CS5, where I should have CS4 serial number.

    Hi,
As per adobe policy on cross platform swap : http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405819.html.
"You can swap only current versions. If you have a previous version, you cannot swap to a different platform or language of the previous version--instead, it's necessary to upgrade."
