PS files in ID print different

1st timer! Why do my PS files printed files look so differently than my the same files placed in ID and printed when everything is synchronized?

I'll send you a PM with a link to my Hightail dropbox and you can send the file on Wednesday.
CS2 still had the InBooklet SE module, I believe, which was supposed to be able to make an imposed file. The module was actually quite buggy, but worse, was made by ALAP, a company acquired by Quark a short time later, and Quark killed the plugin. Print Booklet is the in-house replacement which seems more stable, but less functional, particularly on Macs since Apple decided to make changes to the OS that prevent the PDF virtual printer from being installed.
There are some free scripts that do simple two-up types of imposition, and a plugiin called IDImposer that is inexpensive for more complex patterns, all of which make new ID files you can save anywhere. Overview | IDImposer

  • Printing different/selective files with different copies

    Hi everyone,
I've been working on finding a solution, on how to print different pdf files with different copies, without opening the pdf-files.
    Task:
I have a folder, with 25 pdf files
I want to make a php overview, of the folder
At the end of each line/file - i would like to add a number for the copies
In the end, I would like to simply press print - and every document ive added a number/copies to - are being printet...
I guess I need to use PrintPDF - but does anyone know any pre-made program/function - that could handle the "copies" part...?
I hope someone can help me out,
    Thanks
    Jan

Well, i had hoped that the acrobat could open silent - eventhough they've removed that feature in the newer versions.
Even though the program would open - if the amount of copies was added - and i just hat to press print - it would ease the job alot.

  • How can I use the print module to print different size images on one large "canvas"?

How can I use the print module to print different size images on one large "canvas"? An example would be in Photoshop, go to file>new, and create the size paper I want, and move images of different sizes onto it.
I was thinking the print module would do this automatically for me.

You can't, at present. It's been a requested feature, so we'll see if it shows up in a future version, but it's not there at present.

  • Best Practises for File Sharing and Print Server on Windows Server 2012

Is it better to have File Sharing and Print Server installed on the same Windows 2012 Server ?
Or, they should be installed on 2 different Windows Servers ?
    Hussien Sherief

It will work just fine to combine them.
But most people would recommend keeping functionality separate... if the budget allows.  That whole "single point of failure" concept.  If that server dies, you've lost both of those functions.

  • PSD files will not print from Photoshop CS4 (previously posted in Acrobat printing and prepress)

My questions are: Does the PSD file have the printer information encoded?
Also why has this just started to show up? My wife has work successfully under the same conditions, files moved and printed on different printers, with no problems in the past.
I (we) have been struggling with a recent problem trying to print PSD files from Photoshop CS4. (Vista 32 bit, Epson 3880 networked) When trying to print certain, but not all, PSD files I get the message: "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." I have been in contact with Adobe support about the issue but with little in the way of positive results. I was referred to a kb link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/409/kb409119.html Tried all that to no avail. (The first suggestion is absurd to the point of making me wonder what process is used to construct the kbs. You cannot open the print menu when you get this message so....?)
Other solutions are not acceptable for the work my wife is doing, editing high quality photographs for an exhibition with test prints and so on. We are under intense time pressue with four shows coming up in a very short time. The final solution offered is that CS5 has solved all of this. Hum? interesting. No comment except new program, new problems so not a real solution for us.
In searching the web about this problem I have come across many other people with the same problem working from different platforms and even different Adobe products. I noticed that the MAC OS seemed to cause the same problem and that there was a problem with Reader and Acrobat. In every case the problem is never solved by Adobe or anyone else and users find some "workaround". I too have found what we hope is a workaround in our contiued travels on the blogosphere, on flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/wellington/discuss/72157621548183001/ as "...a nasty, nasty solution" but we skipped the flatten part and the GIMP part and resave the PSD under a different name.
Adobe does seem supportive but not that interested (CS4 right) but I would like to find a real solution and I think many people would benefit from it.
Anyway what I have found is that the PSD files that will not print have been printed on another printer at some time in the past. In my case the Printer was an Epson Artisan A50. The printer we are using now is the Epson Stylus Pro 3880. Even when trying to print wirelessly to the 3880 from the laptop (Was Vista, now Windows 7) that was used to edit and print with the A50, (USB connection) we saw the same error. So it seems that the printer information is somehow embedded in the PSD file (also mentioned in a Blog) and is keeping PS from seeing the printer because the same printer is not there.
Has anybody already found the fix?
I know this is a long post but I have been working on this problem and have heard all of the pat and frankly useless answers and workarounds. Can we find a solution and fix the problem?

Just a few examples, since you ask:

  • Print Different Size Photo, one per page

I am using PS5 in 64 bit mode.  I print on a Epson 3880 printer.  I shoot all photos in RAW.  I process all my RAW files in ACR accomplishing 80% of changes and the balance 20% in PS.  The output of my retouch is a Master Image (MI) File that I would like to print at different sizes.  I am starting to sell my images at Art Shops and Hops.  My customers would like to have different size images of my MI's  How do I print from the MI, different sizes images with a 150 - 300 ppi and maintain the integrity of the MI?
I have tried the Image Tool but it will not let me print the image sizes that my customers want.  The Image Tool only allows me to change one dimension either (H) or (W) but not both.  Help.
    Jack

If you want to print standard size images like 16x20, 8x10, 5x7, 4x6 etc these have different aspect ratios you will need to crop you image to the correct aspect ratio for the print you want or you could print different print sizes that have the same aspect ratio.  Like you camera most likely has a 3:2 aspect ratio if you use a DSLR. You could print all 3:2 aspect ratios image on you 3800. 3x2, 6x4, 9x6,12x8 15x10, 18x12, 21x14,  24x16... all that needs to be changed is the print DPI setting without resampling.    You have a 3800 that can print up to 17" wide.    You can print any size you want.  Some image cry out to be cropped.  They look best cropped for image composition is often best as some non standard aspect ratio.

  • How do I save my contact sheets as a file instead of printing?

How do I save my contact sheets as a file instead of printing?

In Aperture 3 there are two print dialogs. The first is Aperture specific. After you finish this dialog the printer specific dialog will open. In the PDF menu choose Save as PDF...
I've forgotten how Aperture 2 works but it has a different print dialog I think. Look for the same PDF menu or a Preview button.

  • Print Different Sizes Images

I use CS5 / 64bit and print on a Epson 3880 printer.  I sell my images at art shows & hops.  I shoot all image in RAW, on a Nikon D80.  I process all images first in CR.  When in CR I do not use the Crop Tool but do use most the other available tools.  I am able to process 80% of images corrections, in CR and the balance in Photoshop CR5.  I sharpen all image with PhotoKit 1.2.  I save all my processed images, in a Master Image (MI) file that can be accessed through Bridge or Photoshop.  The smallest image I sell is a 5x7 and the larges is 17x22.   How do I print different size picture image from the MI and keep resolution between 200 - 300 ppi, one per page to meet the demands for my customers.

  • Print different page ranges of a document without, each time, having a print dialog?

    Hello,
Would need your valuable help on that one.
I have a large PDF File, of which I want to print different page ranges, based on the checkboxes that have been checked by the User.
Ideally, clicking a "print" button would generate the page ranges, based on the checkboxes that are checked and open one print dialog with the pages ranges already indicated in it. Like this, the User can enter once the printer settings (e.g. booklet or duplex) he wishes, which should then be valid for all the pages contained in all the page ranges.
Thank you in advance for any tip!
    Cheers

  • Ask for the file name when printing on XP x64

I have just installed my CS3 on Windows XP x64. Installation was successful and all is working fine. But there are few things which are working differently and I can not find any way to fix it.
One of the problems I have is that I can not have it so that I will be asked for the name of the PDF file created. It simply goes through and allocates name of the file used for printing. It happens for all applications i.e. Word, Excel, InDesign, Corel. In my automatic processes I realy need to be prompted for the file name / location. Is it possible to modify some settings to have it under XP x64 ??? I hope it is.
    Thanks for advise.
    Tony

I would like to add few details which may help to find the source of the problem.
When I will select Adobe PDF as a printer, then click on Properties and select
    Prompt for Adobe PDF filename
in Adobe PDF Output Folder then printing starts and will not progress at all. If I will change the Adobe PDF Output Folder to local it prints OK but is not asking for the file name / destination.
How I can have it printing and asking for the file name / destination ? Or maybe on XP x64 it is not possible at all ?
    Regards,
    Tony

  • Specify the output file path and print name when printing pages

    hi,
how can i Specify the output pdf file path and print name when i am using the function PrintPagesSilent from AcroAVDoc Object.
    My Code :-
    Acrobat.AcroAVDoc doc = new Acrobat.AcroAVDoc();doc.Open(path,

  • Every time I open a new illustrator file it says "print.ai" file unknown.  I can open previous work but no new files.  Any fixes?

Every time I open a new illustrator file it says "print.ai" file unknown.  I can open previous work but no new files.  Any fixes?

All nee AI files are based on document profiles, which are actually plain AI files.
Print.ai is one of them. You may try and select a different profile to see if it's just the Print.ai
But it may of course be all of them that somehow got corrupt.
Could be that the files are corrupt or that Illustrator doesn't have access privileges.
The files are located in your user folder. Find the exact location in this article:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/adobeillustrator/2009/05/startup_profiles_a_great_tool.html
In case the files are completely corrupt you may try and rebuild the preferences or even do a complete reinstall.

  • Check Printing Differs based on Printer..

    Hi All,
We have 3 differenct printers(HP Laser Jet) for check printing purpose.
    Each printer is printing differently.
Please can you suggest how can we take care of this irrespective of printer series.
    Thank you
    Madhu

How are you sending the pdf file to the printer? Are you opening it then manually printing or sending via unix commands or windows commands?
We have had similar issues in windows when would open the file and use the print feature from Adobe Acrobat in Windows platform. Similarly when we used Acrobat 5 vs Acrobat 7 in unix, Acrobat 5 was shrinking the entire document everytime regardless of us using/not using the -shrink command(really weird). I am now able to send a check to HP4100 printer and Ricoh 4500 printer from Windows or Unix with no problem. If you are using Windows make sure you are using a postscript print driver and not pcl...for some reason they don't play well together.

  • Print .PDT,.DOC,.XLS files using java print API

    Hi,
I need to print different types of documents like pdf, word, excel files etc.
Please let me know how to proceed on this.
I tried using the following code, but it is printing all junk/html tags on the paper.
Please let me know how to resolve this.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
I would like to see if it was possible.  I thought it would be easy, as
there is a standard batch processing sequence (Print 1st page of all) using
Java that comes with Acrobat 7.  This allows you to print the first page of
a number of files that you select when the sequence is run.  Its code is:
    /* Print 1st Page */
/* This sequence prints the first page of
each document selected to the default printer.
    this.print
To my uninformed mind it seemed logical that the same code, slightly
modified to print all pages, should work from within a form.
Anyway, if there is a way to choose individual files, I would appreciate
    that.
    Thanks
    Rob
