PS OpenCL Support for GeForce GTX 460 on Windows

I am trying to enable OpenCL support in photoshop.  Below you will find detailed specs
OS Information: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional  64bit  6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Processor: Intel Core i7 950 (4x 3.06GHz/8MB L3 Cache) clocked to 3.2Ghz 159.99x20.0
Motherboard: Sabertooth X58
Memory: 12 GB [4 GB X3] DDR3-1600
HDD: 2x 60 GB Corsair Force Series F60 MLC SSD Run in RAID 0
System Drive:  1TB HDD
GPU Information :
2x - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 - 1GB - PALIT Sonic Platinum - Core: 800MHz - SLI Mode (Dual Cards)
For quick reference on the cards check here:
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-460
I have done a clean install of the GeForce 314.07 Drivers  (releaesd 2/18/2013).   In addition i have done clean installs of 3 Prior GeForce releases.
In case this cant be seen well this can also be found at http://www.alanherron.com/system_info.png
For detailed specs check  http://www.alanherron.com/gpu_caps_viewer_report.txt
I can run OpenCL benchmarking tests and they work great, but I still cannot active it in photoshop.
Ive tried using sniffer_gpu.exe in the photoshop folder at numerous different times and intervals, (while photoshop is open, after i close it, after a fresh reboot), yet i still cannot get it enabled in photoshop.
I am exhaused from searching the web for answers and I still cant figure this out.

Thanks for the reply Chris.  I realize it says unavailable, but the cards do support OpenCL.
Here is the info below:

    Yes, thats true. I will be upgrading from a 480w to a 600w PSU as well.
    Probably, you can share with us the model that you will be looking at before you spend the money to buy it.
    At the same time, try to look out for Bernhard's recommendation. Those are reliable PSU series.

  • Maximum Nodes supported for NLB and Cluster in Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition ?

    Hi.
    I am looking for information How many nodes supported for NLB and Cluster in Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition ?
    If you can provide for all the versions that would be great.
    -Thanks
    - Ajay Chanana

    Hi,
    You can configure a Windows server 2008 NLB cluster with up to 32 nodes. However,
    scaling beyond 8 nodes will cause a slight performance hit because the network traffic is broadcasted to every node and only one NLB node accepts the connection.

  • Support for nvidia gtx-980 for after effects and premiere

    Can someone tell me when Adobe is going to give CUDA support for the Nvidia gtx-980 video cards in After Effects and Premiere CS6?  I purchased this card specifically for those programs, and DON'T want to do a subscription to Creative Cloud.  I purchased the Master Collection through Adobe, and understand that CC versions support it.  Why can't Adobe issue a btch file or update to include these cards.  I am aware of OpenGl support, but I would like to add my new card.  I also just purchased an i7-4790K to upgrade from i5-3570 to help speed up rendering, but would really like to see the video card supported.

    The simple answer is no.

  • OpenCL support for HD 400

    I am stupefied to find out that there is no driver support for openCL in mac  for the HD4000 intel integrated graphic card.
    I have found support in Linux and Windows !!
    Despite this seems a minor issue, this utterly implies that whenever an application makes use of openCL GPGPUs,
    the programs will run considerable slowly in MAC than in windows !!
    My question is: Do you know when will mac reslease these drivers ? Is there any plans for it ? Have they stoped supporting openCL?
    Is this a marketing strategy for making users spend about 1000 $ more in other computer with discrete graphics in order to have access
    to this accelerated GPGPU programing?

    i was chatting with a support person
    i dont think he knew what it was talking about
    my problem is that i understand that this card was not available before the premiere cc version came out
    but fromwhat  i understand afterwards some cards were available for mercury playback accelaration even though they were not certified
    the intel hd card is available for use in premiere cc and adobe media encoder cc as well
    i just need to know (like the person before me) if there is a way to make my gpu available for that new version now
    or if this is something in the works for later

  • GeForce GTX 460 and CS?

    I'm currently building a system and I'm hung up on the graphics card.  The GTX 460 comes out in June and its in my price range.  Will it be able to run Adobe CS?

    i can pretty much guarantee that card will not be supported.
    the 480 will be in an update even the 470 most likely will not.
    i am sure they will limit the 480 to 3 layers like the 285
    based on testing you will want a supported card unless you are a weekend warrior

  • Best Driver for GeForce GTX 680MX

    What's the best driver version number to use with the GTX680MX graphic chipset to use GPU acceleration without problems? (Win 7 64bit) Installed at the moment is 306.37 but the latest version is 320.49. I ask this question because I have seen Adobe refer to 311.50 as the latest recommended driver to use for the Quadro 4000 card (and other Nvidia cards). There is not a 311.50 available for the GTX 680MX. The version numbers start in the 310.xx range up to 320.xx
    Does anyone know what Adobe recommend?

    Using GTX 460, GTX 480, and GTX Titan cards, all of the 320.??? drivers are working fine for me for CS5, 6, and CC. (my testing has been from the older ones all the way up to the latest beta driver).
    The only tip I would provide is to change one setting from the default:
    - 3D Settings / Manage 3D settings / Power Management mode = Perfer max. performance (default is "Adaptive")
    Bottom line, I suspect for a GTX 680 with premiere, the exact driver version does not matter too much.
    Also, BTW, I only load the GTX driver using the custom install option; nVidia wants to add loads of additional stuff that simply is not required for Adobe.

    Jim

  • KDC has no support for encryption type (14) in windows 2008

    The active directory is a windows 2008 box. I am not mentioning any encryption types in krb5.ini. I know that we should add some registry entries in Windows 2003 and XP. But I was not able to find something similar to those, corresponding to windows 2008. I also tried adding the registry that was meant for windows 2003. But it din't work.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Sorry for a very late response and for not providing adequate information in my question.
    I have Active Directory is in windows 2008 box and my application runs in a windows 2003 box. Its a very simple configuration and there is just one domain configured in the AD(no forest, no parent-child domains).
    my login.config file looks like this
    KerbAuth4Portal{
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required debug=true refreshKrb5Config=true;
    and the krb5.conf looks like this
    [libdefaults]
    default_realm = KERB.WHIGFIELD.COM
    [domain_realm]
    .kerb.whigfield.com = KERB.WHIGFIELD.COM
    [realms]
    KERB.WHIGFIELD.COM = {
    kdc = Ferrari-w2k8Vm1.kerb.whigfield.com
    This is my method
         public void authenticateForPortal(String userName, String password)
                   throws AuthenticationException {
              LoginContext lc = null;
              Subject subject = null;
              try {
                   // String pwd= EncryptData.decryptString(password);
                   // userName = "[email protected]";
                   // userName = helper.convertDN2KerberosPrincipal(userName);
                   // password = "control";
                   lc = new LoginContext("KerbAuth4Portal", new LdapCallbackHandler(
                             userName, password));
                   lc.login();
                   logTicketAttributes(lc);
                   subject = lc.getSubject();
                   log.debug("Authenticated subject" + subject);
              } catch (LoginException le) {
                   log.error("Login failed-", le);
                   throw new AuthenticationException("Failed to login -"
                             + le.getMessage());
    and this is the exception I am getting
    javax.naming.AuthenticationException: Failed to login -KDC has no support for encryption type (14)
    But if I set the useTicketCache to true, then I am not getting this issue, but it the authentication happens with the user present in ticket cache and not with the user passed in my method
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  • Support for Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 (after April 8, 2014)

    Hi,
    I am aware that Microsoft will stop supporting Internet Explorer 8 on April 8 2014 (the same date that Windows XP support stops).
    We are running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 as the browser.
    We have not installed Internet Explorer 9 or above due to compatibility issues with internal intranet systems.
    I have been trying to find out if machines that have Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 installed, will still receive newly detected Internet Explorer 8 Microsoft Security Patches from Microsoft following April 8, 2014.  This information has been difficult
    to determine on the internet.
    Do you know if machines that have Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 installed, will still receive newly detected Internet Explorer 8 Microsoft Security Patches from Microsoft following April 8, 2014?
    If there are any websites that you are aware of that answer either Yes or No to this question, I would appreciate if you could paste their link(s) here.
    Thanks,
    Brian.

    MS don't stop supporting IE8 on April 8 2014, they stop supporting WindowsXP on that date.
    If you have IE8 installed on WindowsXP, the platform becomes unsupported, as well as everything that shipped with the platform or that is installed on the platform.
    IE when installed on a supported platform, is supported in line with the support status of that platform.

    So, at this point in time of posting, if your platform is Windows7, IE8/9/10/11 on that platform attracts this EOS date:

  • Why no support for GeForce GFX 750 Ti specifically?

    Today I received and installed my brand new GeForce GFX 750 Ti, specifically bought for being able to use After Effects properly. My last card was an ATI/AMD FirePro which has no CUDA and thus couldn't use Ae. So I was using it CPU only! Which is total madness.
    I was extremely disappointed to realize that my new GPU also isn't used almost at all, and that it's just as slow as my CPU-only! There is... no difference. I expected the difference to be like night and day.
    Yes, I have the latest correct driver.
    Yes, I have verified that other things using the GPU indeed are much faster.
    I have looked through all the settings in After Effects and tried to make it use the GPU, but it just won't. I then saw on some page of compatible cards that Adobe lists all of them except for my card (basically). I didn't believe my eyes. I had no idea such a list even existed, and I especially didn't think that "certain models" of the same brand and model series of graphics cards would not be supported. It makes no sense. Both weaker and more powerful cards in the same damn series are supported, but not my card specifically? That's... unbelievable.
    This has got to be a case of them simply having not yet tested my card well enough to call it "support", but it still sounds fishy to me as my card definitely has CUDA and is rather powerful. Much more powerful than other cards supported. It doesn't make sense to me.
    Of course, I have it set to "use GPU anyway", but again... it doesn't seem to be used. This kills me. What is preventing Ae from using my card?

    Why didn't you consult with Grympy Man Leeroy whether or not your shoes are approved to walk past his house? Because it's a completely absurd thing?
    That's not the same thing at all. Grumpy Man Leroy has no control or anything to do with the sidewalk outside of his property, but if you are purchasing hardware specifically to be used for a piece of software, it would make sense to check the technical specs of that software. This is not absurd; it is common sense. I wouldn't go buy a new engine for my Jeep Wrangler without checking to see if that cool Corvette engine would even fit with the rest of the powertrain in the Jeep. Even a quick check of the AE tech specs page would have told you about the graphics card requirements.
    As a side note: There are a lot of (much higher-end) software packages out there that are a lot pickier about their hardware than After Effects.
    But let's let the past be in the past. Let's try to solve your problem. (Is returning the card and getting a proper one out of the question?)
    Assuming you can't exchange the card, what version of After Effects are you using? As I hope you know, AE really only uses CUDA on the GPU for one thing: acceleration of the ray-traced renderer.
    If you're using CC, you can ignore the ray-traced renderer completely. There is a version of C4D that ships with After Effects now (which is huge news). It renders better (and faster) than AE's ray-traced renderer. It's a much, much, much better way to do 3d in After Effects. Make sure you update to the latest version (12.2.1.5 is the latest on as of today).
    If you're using CS6, what exact version number are you using? Perhaps updating to 11.0.4 will fix your problem.
