I love this app. for my iPad. However I don't intend to buy a subscription at this time. I'm sure many of the forum posters would like to have their questions answered, but alas, it seems that Mr. Guido is our only source of support, information and answers currently. I took a look at those links. The only thing that sticks out is that one has a conventional hard drive and the other has a hybrid drive with a built-in cache. I think the model with the conventional drive also has a 16GB m.2 SSD as a separate cache.
The tccbook (Western Europe) might be of some help. If I'm interpreting the ++ at the end of the model #'s, that's where the "UK" would go. If that's the case, you can find further specs here: ThinkPad Tablets and Convertibles (W.E.)
According to that, the differences are that the 20CD000M++ has a conventional HDD + a small cache SSD, where the 20CD00AJ++ has a hybrid drive. The AJ also includes a Mini-HDMI to VGA Cable.
I admit to guessing a bit at this, so please double-check with the vendor if you can.

Download everything on your computer in iTunes, then sync your iPod to iTunes.
You should be syncing (backing up) to iTunes and your photo app regurally, anyway.

Is there more than one "Previous recipients" file?

Ancient addresses long deleted from my address book continue to populate emails.
I have done the Window --> Previous recipients thing. (I really have!) The ancient addresses are not there to delete!
I'm wondering if there is more than one "Previous recipients" file?

OK. So these phantom email addresses belonged to you and not other people. Correct? Yes
Were they aliases to accounts you still have or were they old accounts you have since deleted? Explain what the phantom addresses were. These addresses belong to a POP account I have through work. I've used a couple of different addresses: e.g. roberta@ or redowney@ but the domain name has not changed. I'm going to see if the addresses are on my employer's server. Stay tuned.
Have you checked Messages and FaceTime to see if those addresses are listed there? Just checked - not there.
If you have an iPhone or iPad, when you start a new message, do these phantom addresses appear in the list? If so, do they have a circle i icon to the right of the address? If so, click the icon and delete it from there. Nope - do not appear.
These addresses are really old - like two or three years since I last used.

Is there more than one way to strip clean a HD before reloading OSX 10.6.8 operating system

I've had my MacBook's HD emptied and OSX reinstalled twice now in a few weeks by a Mac "reseller" there is no one in the store that has a full knowledge`of mac's they have the orange herd drive that i've seen in Mac shop's, they have the opperating systems to load.
both times it's taken only a few moments to "empty" the hole hard drive, it takes longer to empty 10 items in finder / Secure Impty Trash than empty the HD
the last reinstall i saw that there 22GB used on the HD there must be things getting stuck in the HD some how and becoming part of the reinstall.
Can anybody tell me, so i can tell them ( in the store ) how to go about getting a clean HD ready to reinnstall OSX 10.6.8 with out the things that must be hidden so they become part of the new install

No. The computer can no longer see the files once the Directory has been erased. The only way to access them is from a data recovery method which involves scanning the entire disk and listing these files by examining them - an extremely slow process. I can't say wht you are having the issues you are, but the erase method isn't likely to be the cause - though if you are concerned you could follow the method I gave above for doing a fuller erase, just to satisfy your mind. It may be that the disk itself is beginning to fail. You could download SMART Reporter which can look for possible indications of impeding failure:

Is there more than one version of 9300?

I'm thinking of buying a 9300 but am confused:
Are there two versions, one that supports 3G on bands 850 / 1900 / 2100 and a second that handles AWS band IV (900 / 1700 / 2100)? Or is there only one version and it can handle both?
IF there is one version, then I presume that I can buy any 9300 and put in a SIM to use with the new AWS carriers in Canada (e.g. WIND, Mobilicity).
If there are two versions, does anyone know how to tell them apart?
(I am aware that the 9330 operates on different bands, only).

Use multi-touch to close more than one app at a time in the multitask bar!!

Is this a new feature? I was always annoyed that I had to tap each red x one at a time to close an app on the multitasking bar, so I decided to try and tap several at a time and voilà! It works! I've been able to tap two at a time. Let me know if anyone can do more! I wish they would add a "close all" button, but in the meantime this helps a lot!!!

New to iMac. We have Pages not Office. Daughter needs to make a birthday card. "Daddy, can you show me how to do it on the MAC?" Sure honey, Its probably just like you did on the old computer. WRONG! "Daddy, is that the only birthday card they have? That's lame" Yes sweety, it is.
Is ther a place where I can get some more templates? preferrably some that are twice folded cards so they don't need an 8.5" envelope

Although you posted this in the iWork for iOS forum, it appears that you actually have the desktop version, so I'll answer in that context.
It looks to me like Pages includes two lame birthday card templates. In addition, Pages can usually open templates for Microsoft Word. A Google search brings up lots of templates availlable on the web; most of them are probably lame.
All a template is, really, is a formatted document. If it is the right size, the lame content or lack of variety don't matter because you aren't supposed to keep that content; it's just a placeholder for something original of your own.

Why are there more than one tabs open all the time and how do I change that? I just had to do a reinstall of Windows-tech installed the newest Firefox. There are always at least 2 tabs open and I get an error msg. when trying to close. Tammie

I Have had my iPad for 6 months as I cannot access my work emails using windows. I have to say that it is the most unhelpful device I have ever used and although it looks like there isn't an answer for some of the questions I have asked below, I thought I would try!
1) I have upgraded to ios6 and the kindle app will open but crashes and disappears when I try to access a book?

4) why can't my Samsung 11 phone connect to my iPad via Bluetooth? A they can't seem to 'see' each other? I may have turned a setting off when I was recently abroad and didn't want huge roaming charges.
5) Why do the submit buttons on some websites not work and how can I get them to? I never have a problem with windows, but it is often a problem with the iPad.
6) I have several websites which I have built and usually upgrade on the windows desktop, usually through Internet explorer, but I can't access the sites properly on the iPad (I can see them but can't alter them) and when sending emails through the websites they won't show the page and I can't navigate the page (the size of the email page is bigger than the iPad screen, but I can't either shrink the page to size or move the page around as you normally would on the pad, any ideas?
7) finally, when roaming abroad recently, I had no problems using the wifi, but when trying to use the cellular data (using the roaming function) I could not get it to work? The ipad seemed to be connected to the network with no problems, but wouldn't actually update the emails? I tried turning it on and off, but that didn't make a difference. My kindle and mobile phone (both also on 3G ) worked great, it was just (as usual) the ipad playing up.
8) when wanting to alter part of a sentence, I can't always get the cursor in the right place? Sometimes it is simple the wrong line, but often it will only go at the end or start of a word and not where I want it. Is there any way of making it more exact? As after pressing the screen multiple times I just want to throw it out of the window!
IT might just be that I don't have the correct settings (I am a technophobe) but I absolutely hate the iPad and only have it for work emails, it is so annoying that I can get my mobile phone and kindle3g to work fine, but always have problems with the iPad. I am sure it could be good (and for reading emails on the go in the uk it is great, as I like the key board) but it just seems to make everything else difficult.
i Hope you can help and sorry for asking questions others have, but I am just hoping that something new might have been developed!

Try rebooting your iPad, that should fix he issue. I that doesn't work, delete the app and re-download it. The Kindle books should all be in he Kindle cloud services and you can get them again. I have an iPad2 w/ Kindle app and it works just fine - no issues.

Page as in a kindle book way? turn iPad to landscape position from portrait position. If, however, you mean open more than one application at a time, then no. And not hopeless, as it takes a bit of time to get used to, going from a desktop/laptop format to tablet format.

It's actually fairly easy. Press down on the word, then you can expand by drawing your finger to cover word/sentence/paragraph/page, hit select or select all then it gives you the option to cut, copy, paste, define. If you want to use a word processing app on the iPad, Pages is a good application.

It's the connection on your phone. Samsung Galaxy SII? Android software? What you have to do is go to the phone's settings and connect via wireless, not Bluetooth. Go to System Settings (on phone) and under Wireless and Networks click 'more' and go to the Tethering and Portable Hotspot option. Set up your mobile wifi hotspot, name it though it will probably come up with 'AndroidAP', choose a WPA2 security level and put in a password. Go back to previous screen and turn on 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' box. Then on your iPad in the Settings - Wi-Fi section, it should then recognize your phone for tethering. If it's a Windows Phone 7, I don't know the layout of that software, but presumeably similar.

Sometimes the issue is with the website design, not all websites are optimized for mobile devices - not just iPad but also Android devices. It happens. They're getting there, but occasionally the page might need a refresh.

It depends on what you use to build the websites on the computer. Recommend a free program on the computer called CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor. I don't recommend using IE period; Firefox or Chrome are my choices on Windows machines. I have two websites that I manage, both using this program. I'm assuming that when you mean you can't access the sites on the iPad you mean to update them? Ostensible there are apps to let you do this. What format are the sites? Without seeing what exactly you mean and what you want to do, it's hard to explain.
As for seeing full page while emailing within a site, turn iPad to portrait mode, and try to finger-pinch touch the screen to see if that will bring the fuller page into view. Other option is opening a second tab with same website and just go between tabs to reference material.

If you were outside the US or Canada, my guess is the problem lies within the SIM card in your iPad. If you were outside North America, there are different band levels - I'm guessing you have a SIM thats locked to a particular provider. Band level frequencies differ per country/continent, so a SIM card that will work in Canada/US will not likely work in UK/Europe/Asia/Australia, etc. you will be able to get your emails again when back on a wifi network. Mobile phone may have a different type SIM card (GSM/HSPA) from your iPad SIM. Also, check your email settings.

Moving the cursor on a sentence is a matter of putting your finger on the screen where you want it. It's exceptionally easy to do. I'm using the Notes app to write this whole segment and I just need to put my finger where I want to change things and presto it's ready for me to change where I want it.
Here's a solution: sell your iPad (after you wipe your data off it) to someone who will appreciate it, and put your money towards the Windows Surface Tablet out later this year/early next year, where you can (reportedly) connect a mouse to it. It will have some of the Windows 7/8 functionality that you're more familiar with, or get a netbook.

Is there a way to put an item under more than one calendar at the same time?

I use the calendar to keep track of not only my schedule, but my entire family's. For years I had a calendar labeled 'kids.' Now as they're getting older it would be easier to have an individual calendar for each child. Easier for me to track where they are and they could have they're own calendar on their iphone or iphone touch since we all share one cloud account. However, frequently more than one is at the same activity. The calendar program will only allow me to select one calendar to place an event under; as soon as I select another, it deselects the first. Is there a way to place an event under more than one calendar?
(Since I'm still the one driving that needs to know date, time, place, etc type details I don't want them adding it to their own schedule - maybe - on their devides and synching through cloud)

You can create many calendars. Here's the tip:
Example: you have 1 son and 1 daughter.
In iCloud ( https://www.icloud.com )
Create 1 calendar called Son ( Choose a color to tell them apart )
Create 1 calendar called Daughter ( Ditto )
Create 1 calendar called Kids
Since you are the creator, you get to see all calendars combined.
Send invitations to each of them
Son gets Son and Kids calendars
Daughter gets Daughter and Kids calendars
So if there an event for Son, just put in that calendar
If it's for both then enter it in the Kids calendar
Likewise for daughter.

Airport disconnects when there's more than one device

I've got a really weird problem.. I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n 3rd Generation. Software version 7.6 When more than one device connecrts to the base station it will disconnect everyone and then all devices will go into a connect/disconnect loops. Rapidly. This occurs only with wireless device. I watched the radar on my iPhone (5.1), Macbook running Snow Leopard, Macbook Air running Lion, and iPad 2 (5.1) blinking on and off, on and off. The only way to resolve this is to just have ONE person connect at a time.
Things I've tried:
1) Updating all software on all devices
2) Updating Airport firmware
3) Reboot and then restoring factory settings on the Airport when the reboot didn't work
4) Turning off encryption (WP2)
5) Making sure there are enough IP's for all the devices, turning off robustness, making sure the router is visible.
Because I know someone will ask this: The Airport sits atop a credenza in the open air. Nothing on, around, or above it. It's been in this position for months with no problem. It's not overly warm to the touch and I even used compressed air to blow out the vents (just in case) when this problem began.
I read once upon a time that the router gets a cache built up and that can cause these types of issues, but I have no idea how to delete said cache or even if it exists. It's just odd this only happens when more than one wireless device tried to connect to the network.
Thoughts?

I've resolved this! For some odd reason Apple won't let me denote this so I'm adding this reply. Turns out the problem was POWER related. The Airport was plugged into a power strip with several other devices. I unplugged all of those leaving just the Airport and the problem has not returned. If I add on all the devices, regardless of the power strip used, the problem returns. So it appears the Airport was just not getting enough power.
I've got it on a UPS now and the problem has not returned.
