I want to trial Elements 11 to confirm that it works with my new camera.
I have Elements 9 working and I do not want to damage that installation until I have decided to buy 11.
I downloaded the trial. As soon as I start it I get an intimidating question with no help, description or documentation, and I can't find any comment on Adobe's site.
The choices are:
1/ Upgrade My Catalog to version 11 - which I clearly do not want to do at this time
2/ Create a new catalog.
What I want to know is that the 'new' catalog is additional and would not overwrite the existing elements 9 catalog. I will certainly not proceed until I am confident.

The first choice, upgrading, means that a new catalog is created in the PSE11 format, leaving the old one unchanged.
You can work with both versions, each keeping its own catalog.
The catalogs are totally independent : the changes you do in one are not known to the other.
With the changes in PSE11 you'll have to learn how to deal with the new interface, so the first choice (conversion) will be necessary anyway some day...

Long time ago I trialed Elements 9 and could not remove from Programs at the time; still can't?
I didn't go forward with '9' because of its size and it didn't appear to provide advantages for the cost.
How do I uninstall it when conventional methods fail. Message received in Windows Installer is, ' The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.' Elements 9 cannot be used.

How do I convert trial Elements 10 to a purchased DVD? i can't find anyplace to input the serial numbers. It used to pop up all the time, but now when I have the serial numbers, I can't find it anywhere.

I found where to enter the serial numbers: I had to go to The Editor; the input screen did not pop up on the Welcome Page or the Organizer.

I tried to download Elements 12 trial. Dowloaded "Dowkload Assistant" but got error message "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." Followed instructions to delete older version of Download Asstant. Reinstalled new version, and got same error message. I've tried 2 different browseres with same results.

How can I change my Editor default back to Elements 8? (changed when I loaded trial Elements 11.)

How can I change my Editor default back to Elements 8? When I downloaded a trial version of Elements 11, my default changed to version 11. I use Adobe Lightroom, and when I switch over to Elements using "Edit In", it automatically open Elements 11 now.

In Lightroom Library prefs link to the PSE8 editor app, usually found on the Mac in support files. This example is for PSE10.

Installation of trial Elements 11 to OSX 10.8.2

I have downloaded the 30-day trial version of Elements 11 but can't install or open it. I've opened the Download Assistant and clicked on the Help With Installation key...but that takes me to a page with lots of instructions and two large boxes that have only question marks in them. I'm running oSX 10.8.2

I downloaded the Download Assistant, clicked on Novice, then on Get help With
installation, then on Download Trial Software. At that point, I got several
instructions and several large boxes with nothing in them but a question mark.

I’m not sure if Photoshop Elements does it, but some software developers have their software periodically “phone home” to them. The software reports back to the developer’s web site and says, “Hi, I’m serial number 12345v6 and I’m running on a computer with the serial number of C02FCCD7DF92”. I don’t know the reporting interval, but let's say this phone home process happens once a week. This phone home process can only happen when you have launched the software on a computer and that computer is connected to the Internet.
By recording and comparing the serial numbers, this allows the software developer to know if you have installed this version of the software on more than one computer - which is a real No-No.
I don’t know that Photoshop Elements is using this phone home option, but how else could Adobe know that you are running the same serial number of Elements on two different computers? It’s not as though you’re phoning Adobe.
I don’t believe that there is a “deactivate” option that you need to select. What if the old computer had died yesterday, and you no longer could launch Elements to select a deactivate option?
If I’m right, you could “deactivate” the software, if you just stop using Elements on the old computer. That’s a bit dangerous because if you were to accidentally launch this software on the old computer - it will phone home.
To insure that you are safe, I’d uninstall the version by putting the version of Elements on the old computer in the trash, and emptying the trash. You then would only have the software installed on one computer.

Go back to the Adobe Downloads page for the product trial you are downloading and refresh it (Command+R or Ctrl+R).
Click the Download button again to launch the ADA.
If the download does not start, verify your network connection and try again.
If your network connection works normally and you still get an error message after a few attempts, delete the contents of the ADA Local Store folder (Windows) or the ADA Preferences and Cache (Mac OS):

Problem with Elements 9 after uninstalling trial Elements 13:

I have a licenced version of Elements 9 on my PC and decided to try Elements 13 so installed a trial version. 13 was too slow on my PC so I uninstalled it.
Since uninstalling, Windows 7 (Home Premium) does not recognise Elements 9 as a program that I can set as a default for opening file types.
I am also unable to choose Elements 9 from Windows Picture Viewer for opening a file that I have opened there. (This started after the PSE 13 installation where only PSE 13 was available, not 9)
This is driving me crazy - I like using Picture viewer as a fast way of scanning through shots and then directly opening the shot in PSE from there.
Any suggestions for fix please?

Unless you have an old Windows XP single core processor everything should work well.
Are you using proximity or content aware with the healing brush?
There are many work arounds for the new tools in PSE9 so you may not need to spend cash.

Trial Elements 13 doesn't automatically unzip or start

Just downloaded Elements 13 to a folder on my PC desktop. The huge, 1.7GB file hasn't automatically unzipped or started. What to do?

No problem with this. The file you have got is a zip file but it can only be unzipped using a third-party software called 7-zip. It can be downloaded from this link:

The above link is for 64 BIT MACHINE WHICH i ASSUME IS THE ONE YOU ARE USING.
