Is it possible to play my PS3 on my HP IQ500?

THIS is HP's position on Windows 8 and any non-Windows 8 HP computer;
Not all Windows 8 features may be available on all PCs.
Your particular experience with Windows 8 will be determined by the capabilities of your PC.
HP is providing upgrade instructions and drivers will be available for most Windows 7 systems sold after 1st October 2011.
If you want to restore the original operating system after upgrading, you must create HP recovery media before you upgrade.
Please note that if you purchased your system prior to October 1, 2011, HP has not tested these PCs or developed Windows 8 upgrade instructions or drivers for them. Upgrading such systems may be difficult or impossible.

Doesn't it use an external AC Adapter? If so, all you should need to use in another country is an adpater plug to match the wall socket.

  • TouchSmart IQ500 and Win8?

    Hello.
    HP TouchSmart IQ500.
    System #: FK936AA-ABG
    Serial #: 3CR----B32(blanked for security)
    Model #: IQ518a
What is HP's position on this machine and Win8?
I have one of these machines running Win8 64-bit, but it often gives problems.
Video driver issues with the screen going blank(which I learn by reading other posts, is quite a common issue with Win8 on the TouchSmart machines), and recently, sound problems, where the sound just mutes by itself, and there is nothing you can do to make the sound work again.  Sometimes, if you wait a while it works again, but the sound can just fail half way through a movie for no apparent reason.  There is NO warning, wierd sounds or anything - it just dies and you can't get sound again from that point.  Rebooting SOMETIMES fixes the problem, but only with about a 75% success rate.  It is NOT the application causing the problem with the sound - no applicaiton that uses sound will output it - not even the Windows Sound app in Control Panel.
So, at the end of the day, can someone at HP please confirm for me if this model machine is actually compatible with Win8?
I am guessing that it is NOT supported at this stage, as I have not been able to find any Win8 specific drivers for this model machine, unless I am not looking in the right place, and that is quite possible!!!!
    Thanks for any replies.

  • Hello, I have such problem. My TouchSmart IQ500 when turned on shows only startup screen.

When I turn on the TouchSmart IQ500, it shows only startup screen.
Pressing F11 (System recovery) does not affect anything.
Pressing F10 - it writes entering setup... and nothing more happens
Pressing F9 - also no response.
Please tell me what can be done?

It sounds a LOT like a dead hard drive, running diagnostics would be a good place to start.

  • I can't use PS3 and Laptop at same time ?

OK I'm hoping although strange this might be a simple as changing a setting in my hub or laptop, here goes:-
Like many housholds nowadays I have many things connected to my Hub, Desktop, Ipod, Phone, Sky, games machines, etc
Well the problem I have, is when I stream Netflix or Amazon prime on my PS3 it buffers a lot or wont go HD for quite some time, no problem I switched to a wired set up, which helped with speed a lot, happily watching movies of an evening,
then one evening, it kept saying it's taking a long time to sign in, and wouldn't, I re check my network settings, and it shows unable to obtain an ip address,
so I set up the wirless again, and the same problem,
anyway after a few nights of this, I get a bit fed up, then out of the blue, it works again, both wireless and when I switch back to wired,
so I settle down to watch a film, fire up laptop, and after a few mins it flashes on my PS3 I have been disconnected, I peice things to gether and realise, when I have laptop on I cant connect PS3, even if laptop is wirless and PS3 wired ?.
I assume they are both using the same ip ?, I deleted the laptop from my Hub in the hope it would assign another, fired up PS3, and then re booted laptop, but straight away it kicks out PS3.
I have mooched arround in hub advanced settings, but I dont know what I'm doing, so not going to adjust anything, so if it is just a case of modifying my laptop or hub settings, if someone could instruct me I would be greatful, and if its not thought to be that HHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLPP   Please
    Thanks in advance
    Chris
P.S. I have searched the forums, there seems to be a lot of PS3 connection problems, but nothing that matches my particular problems

No I'm afraid that didn't work either

  • Can i stream the content on my airport extreme to my PC, PS3 and iPad ?

I want to purchase either the Airport Extreme (and plug in a 1TB external hard drive) or the Time Capsule. I want to know if it is possible to share the media in either of the drives (movies of all formats avi flv wmv mp4 and songs etc) wirelessly on my PC, PS3 and iPad.
I basically just need an airport express because i need to extend my wireless range by plugging in an ethernet cable. But if i will be able to share the content in a hard drive wirelessly without much mess, then i'd go for the capsule or the extreme. I've googled around and found that its incredibly messy to stream non-mp4 videos on iPad, u need to copy the entire movie onto ipad to watch it and blah blah.
Can anyone tell answer me like u talk to a non-tech freak ? Thanks

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods available for copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.  Once you have successfully done that, you can safely choose the Erase and Sync option.

  • What do I need to hook up XBox w/Kinect, PS3 and Wii Gaming Consoles

    Hello all,
I have a Flat screen TV purchased about 3 years back.  It has 1 HDMI port and it has I believe two sets of the red/white/yellow ports (a set on the left and a set on the right).  I want to connect the following:
    1 – Xbox with Kinect
    1 – PS3
    1 – Wii
    I know I need 1 HDMI cable
We have Comcast wireless internet and the modem/router is in a neighboring bedroom.
What else do I need to purchase in order to hook up all units?
Thanks for your time and assistance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can buy a HDMI switcher with a remote. It will require 3 HDMI cables but you can switch from the Xbox or PS3 with the remote.
The red/white/yellow ports doesn't put out HD resolution so you can use the Wii for that.
So you can get a HDMI switcher or plug HDMI to either Xbox or PS3 and the two remaining will be connected by the red/white/yellow ports.
I believe the new Xbox, most PS3, and the Wii have built-in WiFi adapter already.

  • Formatting external hdd for PS3 and final cut.

I recently purchased a 1TB external hdd. I would like to partition this drive so I have 320gb to back up my PS3 and the rest to use to store my Final Cut express projects.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I know the PS3 only reads FAT32 and I am wondering if it will be able to pick up my external hard drive if part of it is not formatted FAT32.

    Oskar,
This is the Final Cut Express Forum, not a PS3 forum. There's no reason to expect anyone in this forum to be able to answer questions about PlayStations. Tom was quite reasonable suggesting that you search elsewhere.

  • Can i plug my ipod 4gen via usb into my ps3 and play zombies off the app

Hi is there an app for cod zombies online so i can plug my ipod 4 gen into my ps3 and play it

Just what do you mean by play? You can likely charge you iPod if you connect the iPod to a USB port on the PS2. The USB cable in on the dock cable does not support out except syncing

  • Hooking up a touchsmart IQ500 series as a monitor

Is it possible to hook up a TouchSmart IQ500 Series computer as a touch screen monitor for another HP Computer (Envy Phoenix 810 running Windows 365.

    Hello aefontenot,
I understand that you are looking into using your HP TouchSmart IQ500 AiO PC as a monitor to another HP Computer. The answer is "NO" you may be able to connect a computer to it using an adapter like an HDMI to USB adapter, but I was unable to locate the functionality to allow you to switch inputs on this computer.
I hope I answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Skype for Sony Playstation 3 ( PS3 ) and for Sony Playstation 4 ( PS4 )

There is a huge amount of Sony Playstation users who would like to have Skype available for their consoles. The client is already available for PSP and PS Vita. There are ton of thread with this request, but none of them has received a clear answer and that's why I open a new thread. We know that there are a lot of alternatives like smart TV, Blu-ray and other compatible devices, but the request is clear : could you please let us know if there is any plan to implement a client for Sony Playstation (PS3 and/or PS4) or not? If not is it possible to know why?Thank you,Dashie

Return a favour? Really? Blu-ray is a standard. It's in Sony's best interest to allow it to be available on more platforms, so it moves closer to superceding the DVD, AND they get to make revenue from licensing the standard as a result. In the case of Xbox One, Sony make between $2 and $3 per unit according to a Wedbush Securities estimate.
Skype is a service. And for most users, a free one at that. The revenue from it comes from people paying for the premium services such as inbound numbers, which are very unlikely to be users basing their presence on video game consoles. Given the climate of the next gen releases, it is in Micorsoft best interests to give their console offering a certain exclusive. No matter how small. In short. Comparing Blu-ray to Skype is rediculous. Just write it off as a shame that business is business.

  • Best 32" lcd for ps3 and tv

    Hi all
I have been searching forever for the best 32" lcd to be used for ps3 and hdtv. I also will be using the blue-ray player alot. I was very disappointed in the 32" sony Braviakdl32l5000 i looked at today .  Any help would be so appreciated!!!
    Thanks

What didn't you like about it? There is a 1080p model with 120hz if you want to take a look at it. At that size, there's not much in the way of image quality but the one you looked at is ideal simply because it doesn't have 120hz processing which screws with your gaming image and introduces lag.
