PS3 Blu-ray remote? Anyone from Sony able to comment?

I really like being able to use the game controllers withmyX Z Ultra, do it seemed reasonable to hope that the Blu-ray remote fit a PS3 would work.
The first hurdle was pairing them. The ps3 remote has more PIN, and android won't let you pair with a blank PIN. However, I found an app which solves this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jpn.frontia.waka.Bluetooth
Sadly, after pairing, the Blumote doesn't actually control my Xperia.
Does anyone have any ideas whether this might be made to work?
Being able to plug my XZU into the tv or sound system and control a media player app with a Blu-ray remote would be awesome
Tasks

I'd even be happy to be a beta tester for this. I am still wondering why this would be so hard? Surely the ps3 blumote should generate the same Bluetooth events as a game controller?
I guess I need to do some of my own investigations into this.

  • How to program Sony RMT-VB100U Blu-Ray remote to control Vizio TV

I want to eliminate some remote controls...I have a Vizio TV and want to turn it on/off and adjust volume via my fancy little Blu-Ray remote Sony RMTV-B100U that came with my BDPS3500, BUT the pre-programmed brands do not include Vizio.  How do I make this remote work with the Vizio, or am I just screwed and need to buy a tool belt to carry all these ****** remotes around?  I'm not buying a universal remote when I have plenty of remotes that should do the job.

    Hi nphiker,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
The supplied remote " RMT-VB100U " is not a universal remote control. However, you can control some televisions which is not a Sony TV. Please refer to the link below on page 44 for the supported TVs.

  • Change the Blu-Ray burn speed from within PRE9

I burned a 2 hour video to Blu-Ray last night from within PRE9, and it all turned out well. Except it took maybe 5 or 6 hours to burn (its 6x speed disc).
Is this to be expected? I don't see any settings for burning speed from within PRE9.
I burned a 2 hour test Blu-Ray the other day from within the software that the Blu-Ray burner came with (where you can adjust the burn speed), and I could swear it was much faster. But I don't want to waste another disc just to test this out.
    Thanks
    Greg

Unfortunately, PrE does not allow one to alter the Burn Speed. The "big brother," Encore has that capability.
In PrE, I suggest doing a Burn to Folder, and then the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, which allows that adjustment. However, without extra software (virtual BD burner software), PrE does not allow BD Burn to Folder, at least not yet.
    Sorry for the bad news,
    Hunt

  • PS3 (blu-ray player) will not play movie after menu selection on this particular project?

When trying to play my finished Blu-ray disc on PS3 the menus display and work good. However, when I choose a selection to play the movie it returns back to the main menu. It doesn't matter if I choose the main play button or one of the chapters on the scene selection menu, it does not play the movie but rather returns to the main menu. Menus appear to be working fine!
I've used Encore for years and I'm pretty familiar with the ins and outs of creating DVD's. I'm a little new at creating Blu-rays but have found the process very similar to creating DVDs with the addition of being able to add Popup menus. I pretty much followed the same process as a Blu-ray I created a couple months ago which worked fine. So I'm pretty much at a lose how to trouble shoot this issue. The only thing that has changed is that I've upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite but I really don't know if that is a factor or not. Encore did not run into any issues while working on the project.
Everything works when previewing my project in Encore. All the menus and buttons work and the movie plays fine. Also, no errors are reported after running the Check Project process on the Build tab.
I usually create an ISO file to burn from later. Encore created the ISO file and reported success.
I'm running Adobe CS6 on a Mac with Yosemite. FCPX was used to output the AC3 audio file and 264 video file. Menu transitions are ProRes422.
So far while trouble shooting I've made 3 coasters.
1st disc was created using Yosemite Disk Utility to burn the ISO file created by Encore (my usual way).
2nd, and 3rd disc I let Encore burn directly from the project.
3rd disk I removed the PopUp menu as I've only done one in the past and figured I would try that as a trouble shooting step.
So, since everything appears fine Encore I'm really not sure how to trouble shoot this. I wish Apple would support Blu-ray better so I could just open the ISO file in DVD Player like I do when I create DVD ISOs. So much easier than having to trouble shoot by creating coasters.
If anyone has come across this issue before and has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I'd like to complete this project and move on.
    Thanks in advance!

Well, at this point I'm thinking maybe something is wrong with the movie files output from FCPX even though they play fine in Encore. I noticed that there is a one frame difference between the video and audio file. The video file is 00:38:45:01 and the audio file is 00:38:45:02. I already output the file using Compressor. However, I'm still seeing the exact same time difference between the video and audio file when imported back into Encore. I'm going to rebuild the Encore project from scratch using the movie files output from Compressor and try again. If that doesn't work I'll use 7toX to convert FCPX XML and try importing the XML into Premier Pro and output the movie files that way for Encore. Or, output a master file from FCPX and let Encore do the transcoding.

  • Advice for backing up media - Blu Ray? Anyone try it?

I am currently using external drives to back up lots of video and was wondering if anyone has tried using a Blu Ray burner to do this? Not sure what the data limitations of the disk are? Are there external ones? Would you recommend it or wait a bit longer?
    Thanks.

Absolutely, original tapes, along with a project in which they've been properly logged and captured, are the best form of backup.
But not everyone works with DV sources, and not all of our source material is batch-re-capturable.
For instance, I work with an agency that reps touring bands, and a lot of the source material I get is on DVD video. I have to rip and extract the video (to which the clients hold the rights) and import it. At this point, whiile I could theoretically repeat this procedure and get a file almost identical, it still isn't frame accurate and would require some reworking to rebuild any project if teh media were lost.
I agree Blu-ray isn't cost-effective yet per GB, and DVD-5 requires a lot of time and patience to archive. But it's still a good, safe way to back up material like this, IMHO. To steal Shane's example, drop a DVD and a hard drive from a foot off the ground and see which still works. I do archive to hard drives to keep things accessible, but I know too well how vulnerable that storage medium is to failure.
    my two cents.

  • Output to Blu-Ray and Audio from Gaming videos.

Just a simple questions, does premiere pro allow output as Blu-Ray. I have a series of home movies, I want to produce as Blue-Ray and all I can find is only DVD publishing.
On another issue, I am trying to create a video of online gaming that I play and the clan I belong to play to promote the clan, I have some footage from Arma 3, War Thunder, however with my Rust game the audio is very slow. How do I correct this,  Would the video resolution affect the audio. I use Bandicam to capture my online gaming footage which is outputted as AVI file.  This plays well in Windows Media Player, Realplayer, and PowerDirector (Does Blu-Ray 3D).  I have been told by quite a few clan members that premiere pro was a good video editing software so I wanted to try and see for myself seeing I have a complete Creative cloud Subscription.
    Video informations is as follows:
    codec MPEG 1   Resolution: 1912 x1060 @ 30fps
Audio is MPEG -1 Layer 2 48000Hz @192 kbps Monophonic
    Codecs are installed.
The audio, almost sound as thought I am speaking in game in slow motions,  I have tried to increase the speed, got as far as 500% which is still too slow.  I am new Premiere Pro.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could assist me with this.

Premiere Pro BY ITSELF will not create DVD or BluRay... you may export files for authoring in EncoreCS6, which is a separate download... go to the bottom of page #5 at The PPro/Encore tutorial list http://forums.adobe.com/message/2276578 for more information on using PProCC with EncoreCS6
Capturing gameplay is often problematic... try this Free Open Source software http://camstudio.org/ -use with Lossless Lagarith http://forums.adobe.com/thread/875797

  • Planes, Trains, and Automobiles on Blu Ray? Anyone knows when it will be back in stock?

I never got a chance to pic up Planes, Trains, and Automobiles when it hit Best Buy stores and since it sold out, its been on backorder ever since. Anyone have a clue as to when the movie might be back in stock? The website says usually in stock 1-2 weeks, but as I've said its been on backorder forever it seems.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Really? So Best Buy doesnt have a good inventory system?
I find it odd that they cant find out an approx. date of having them back in stock since amazon, walmart, target, etc. all know when they are on order, how much are on order, and approx when they will arrive. Heck even amazon posts "back in stock on such and such date" on most movies that run out. I even called my local Best Buy store and they had no clue which is why I just ended up going to ebay.

  • Premiere CC 2014.1 Blu-ray MPEG 2 export causing error in Sony DVD Architect Pro

I've filed a Bug Report for this but wanted to post here in case it helps anyone else or on the off chance someone can give me a solution / better work around.
Something has changed in the results of a Blu-ray MPEG2 export from Premiere 2014.1 vs those of the previous CC version. The result is that my authoring software of choice, Sony DVD Architect Pro, fails to prepare a disc image giving an error in the final stage of preparation. This workflow has been working fine for 2-3 years.
My work around is to export to original format (mxf / XDCAM EX HQ) and then go back to Media Encoder CC rather than 2014 to produce the Blu-ray MPEG2 file, which works without problem.
Here's a copy paste of my bug report in case anyone with a similar setup has an opportunity to replicate (I'd be very grateful to anyone able to confirm whether its a bug or something specific to me that I might be able to fix).
    ******BUG******
Export from Premiere 2014.1 directly or via Media Encoder of MPEG 2 1080 50i Blu-ray files causes error in preparation of Blu-ray disc in Sony DVD Architect 5.2.
This error does not occur when using the same Media Encode export preset in the previous version of Premiere Pro CC / Media Encoder.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Export Sequence from Premiere
Export, in my case XDCAMEX 1080i HQ, using a media encoder MPEG 2 Blu-ray preset:
    Preset Name: HD 1080i 25
    Format: MPEG2 Blu-ray
    Bitrate Settings: Medium (Target 25Mbps)
    2. Create DVD Architect 5.2 project
Set up as single movie Blu-ray project in DVD Architect:
    Disc format: Blu-ray Disc
    Resolution: 1920*1080
    Framerate: 35 interlaced
Choose the file exported from Premiere
    3 Prepare Disc
    - Select Make Blu-ray Disc
    - Click Prepare
    - Choose Location of iso
    - click next then finish
    Result
Around 50% - 60% through the process the following error is displayed:
An error occurred while preparing compilation
    Details:
    File name: STREAM/00000.m2ts
Status: TSWrapper.dll::CTSWrapper::ProcThreadMain::Failed to read ES file. - The ES file may be shorter than the size described in the MUI file.
    Expected results:
A shiny ISO ready to be burnt to disc and sent sent to eager customers.
Its taken me a full day and a half to isolate problem - someone remind me why I fall for the software updates every time?!
    Cheers

There is a known bug in the H.264-Bluray export. I assume it has nothing to do with your issue, but perhaps it will give you something to consider.
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/6848505#6848505
It appears due to a malformed xmpses file. It creates a problem on import into Encore, and I think it should do the same upon import into Architect or it would be ignored entirely. The test is to delete the xmpses file and see if that avoids the issue.

  • Premiere elements does not recognize Blu-Ray disc, says media not present.  Under 12 I was able to record 3 blu-ray dvds using the same burner and discs I'm trying with 13.  What is the problem?

I installed PE13 and cannot burn blu-ray DVDs.  I was able to burn 3 blu-ray DVDs using PE12.  When I select DVD from the menu it recogniazes that it is not a stadard DVD as I get an 'incorrect media' error message.  It will burn standard DVDs of the same video using standard DVD mefia.
    What is going  on here?
When I loaded PE 12 back on the computer I cannot load a file created with PE13.  Looks like a format change?  Can I convert file back to PE12?

  • Will Compressor record on Blu-ray from iMovie.

    Hi
I have a blu-ray recorder and want to know if I purches Compressor will it download to the Blu-ray recorder from iMovie?
    Ta

I you export an HD movie from iMovie and bring that into Compressor as a source file and if you have a Blu Ray burner and the correct media, then the answer is yes; you can create a Blu Ray disk directly from Compressor.
    Russ
PS: I may have made an incorrect assumption that by recorder you meant burner. If I did misunderstand, tell us what model that equipment is.

  • Can anyone from Adobe comment? BDMV playback on BD-R(E) being stopped making Encore useless

I have read on a number of forums now that Sony are forcing BD set top manufacturers to disable playback of any BD-R or BD-RE discs with BDMV structure to stop piracy
this means that Encore CS3 Blu-ray export will be useless (the only reason some of us bought it!), as is other Blu-ray authoring software (I also own DVDit Pro HD).
Does anyone from Adobe have any comments about this?
apparently a newly launched Pioneer player had the function removed at the last moment, as did a new Sony player and the PS3 is expected to lose the abilty to play them in an upcoming firmware release

More interesting stuff I dug up on Blu-ray:
"Since playback of non encrypted BDMV discs is outside the Blu-ray specs, it remains to be seen whether Sony and Co. will undo that loophole by coming up with yet another Blu-ray profile that prohibits playback of unprotected BDMV discs, or if Fox and Co. revamped the BD+ spec to only allow decryption if the underlying disc has AACS encryption. Either way, at this point I wouldn't bet much money on this workaround being permanent, so you should heed Slysoft's advice about buying HD media and buy HD DVD over Blu-ray - it is the more consumer friendly format (not to be confused with a consumer friendly format) and the risk you incur of not being able to exercise your fair use rights in the future are greatly reduces if Blu-ray becomes the prevailing format."
If I read between the lines here, are they saying that non-encrypted BDMV discs will NOT play on Blu-ray players? If so, then that means all home-authored and non-mega-corporation-authored BDMV discs.
Anyone with some industry connections care to sort this out a bit?

  • Unable to play Blu-Ray or DVD through MediaSmart on HDX 18

My drive has the Blu-Ray symbol on it, so I know it's supposed to have Blu-Ray capabilities, but every time I put a Blu-Ray OR DVD in, MediaSmart DVD pops up and says "No disc loaded in drive." However, I am able to run DVDs through Windows Media Player. So, what's wrong with my MediaSmart? Is there another way to play Blu-Rays?

I have been having this problem for close to 10 months (since I bought my HP laptop). I didn't care initially because I could use other players to play regular DVDs and CDs. I was in a fix when I tried to watch my first movie in Blu Ray disc. I tried multiple installs and re-installs but couldn't get it to work. I however got to a point where it would say the "Disc is ready, hit the play button", but when I hit the play button it just flashed the screen (adjusting screen display) for a second and then did nothing. I finally called HP support and they walked me through regular install and install as per their process. When the initial instructions didn't work, I on my own did two things while on call.
    1. I first Un-installed my antivirus software, just to make sure it doesn't interfere with any of the other activities being instructed by the support staff since they were related to drivers.
    2. I had a Divx player and converter installed in my machine. Just on random thought of driver conflicts I went ahead and un-installed all the Divx related software. It asked me for a restart and bingo. When the machine rebooted, HP mediasmart DVD was able to play the Blu Ray disc.
I don't know which of the un-installs did it. My guess is it probably was Divx or a combination of both. I then asked HP support to stop going through rest of the process. He advised me to update the BIOS and software for fingerprint device which I did and it solved another problem for me. I saw the whole movie without too many issues. Once issue I found was when I paused the play using keyboard and resumed the sound went away. I then had to close and restart the movie. Based on above experience, I would advice anyone else having same problems to first un-install all the free DVD/CD/Blu Ray player software from the machine, then proceed with un-installing antivirus (if necessary at all. You can install it back again). I haven't tried re-running the blu ray disc after re-installing the anitvirus. I will re-post any problem here if I find any issue. That would also nail down the culprit.
Hope this helps so some of you.

  • No Internet available for TV or Blu Ray systems - new problem

I am unable to connect any TV or entertainment device to the Internet - Samsung TV, Samsung Blu Ray / Entertainment system, and Sony Blu Ray / Entertainment system. All 3 of these devices have a good connection to my Apple Airport AND my FIOS router, but nothing beyond that.
Called support and was able to convince the tech that I can connect all my PCs, Android, and Apple devices to the Internet via my FIOS connection, but I am unable to connect anything that is a TV or Blu Ray device. Connection to the Verizon provided router is good. He said there is an outage, but they are sending a new router to replace my outdated one.
This is a new problem, either happened Monday the 23rd or today. Sunday Feb 22 I was using my Samsung to watch Netflix all night.
Anyone else have this issue? New router will be in on Thursday, will set up and report back...
    James
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I lost internet connection last night to Amazon prime and Netflix through my Sony Blueray player MODEL BD-570. Called Verizon tech support and with help we checked the router, cable box and internet connection. All equipment and services checked out ok except the Sony Blueray Player which could not connect to my paid services. It gave me the following message: "A network error has occured : REFERENCE ERROR CODE 303."
The next morning Googled: Sony error code 303. I learned many other people had the same issue more than once with Sony. They had lost connection service for as long as two weeks. Their calls to Sony were disconnected. ? Some people had the newer Sony BD-590 player so it's not only my model but problems at Sony.
I have a solution to the issue. I am going to buy a ROKU 3 and install it as my new streaming device.
The Sony BD 570 and other players are after all primarily a Disk Players with add on connections. A bit like a "swiss army Knife".
The ROKU is First a streaming device with extra options. Perhaps the inverse design.
I hope this helps you and saves you the lost time I have spent on this problem. Samsung has also had simular issues.
You may also have a failed internet connection board/section in your player and the disc player will function normally.

  • Blue-ray external player?

What Blue-Ray (BR) externel players does Apple computers like? or can i use what ever externel BR-burners PC has

When Blu-Ray (and HD DVD) were being created, the Movie studios insisted on extremely tough DRM protection being incorporated, this was partly because the protection on DVD discs had already been totally busted. The protection on Blu-Ray covers not only being able to read the files from the disc, but continues to protect it in the memory of the computer, as it passes through the video and audio chips, and all the way to the TV (by requiring HDCP). To achieve this level of protection requires a lot of work by a computer maker and some people argue harms the performance of the computer.
On top of the really nasty DRM measures, there are extremely complicated and probably expensive licensing terms. Steve Jobs rightly called all of this a 'bag of hurt'.
Of course as any techie would have predicted, just like that for DVDs and every single other DRM scheme ever invented, the DRM on Blu-Ray discs is now also totally busted. If anything Blu-Ray discs are now pirated even before DVD discs!
Conspiracy theorists say the reason Apple don't play Blu-Ray discs is because it would compete with the iTunes store, however this is a weak argument since Apple do still include a full-blown DVD playing application, and have had no problems doing deals with competitors like NetFlix. The deluded conspiracy theorists should also remember Apple makes only a small profit on sales via the iTunes store and and are far more interested in selling hardware.
Even more so than the Music industry, I would describe the Movie and TV industries (pretty much the same bunch of companies) as being anti-customer and actually putting measures in place to prevent customers buying their products!!!
I would like to nominate you for a Pulitzer Prize in journalism!
I think it's becoming obvious that copy protection is harmful to sales and prevents almost no one from copying anything.
For years software companies have told us that prices for software would be lower if there was no piracy. But in fact the exact opposite is true.  In China and India software piracy runs rampant.  To combat all of this piracy Microsoft sells Windows 7 at about one third the price it costs in the United States where there is much less piracy.
I am opposed to piracy.  I like movies, and I know that if people don't pay for them, movies will not get made.
If I purchase a Blu-ray movie for around $20 It's very difficult to watch that movie on other devices (unless a digital copy is provided). How do I react to this?  I go without, and buy nothing.
A few years ago, Steve Jobs convinced the record companies to discontinue the copy protection of music. The result is that iTunes is selling more music than ever before.
David Pogue wrote an excellent article in Scientific American magazine about this subject.
    "The Perils of Copy Protection"
"Tech companies handcuff our files to protect against digital pirates. The strategy isn't just annoying for customers—it could be hurting sales"
