My ipod touch 3rd gen 8gb is not charging or syncing to itunes.  ALL i get is a red battery when I plug it in and then the apple sign, but never charges or syncs.  What can I do and what is wrong with this?  thank you

You can try a different cord and see if there's an issue with that. But if you replicate it with a different cord then y ou may be having battery issues iwth your iPod. If you're within the first year's warranty you can take it into our local apple store and have them take a look at it.

  • My iPhone 5c will not charge or sync with devices such as laptop

My new iPhone 5c will not sync with my laptop, an error  telling me to "unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices", showes up.  It will also not charge directly from the charger in the home.  It goes back and forth binging at me, but will not charge.  I have used different lightening cables with no luck either.  Anyone have a suggestion?

    Hi there mtbbill,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

I had this problem last night i was checking my yahoo e-mail and preceded to download a picture to my e-mail as the picture was downloading the iphone locked up i was unable to do anything not even power the iphone off or get back to home. all i did was wait for the battery to drain down ( because the picture i was downloading was frozen and the light on the iphone stayed on) once i got home and plugged the iphone back in to charge ( beacuse battery went dead) the apple logo showed up and the phone seemed to be back to normal so i thought the only way it will charge now is if i have it hooked in to my IMAC. the icon for charging is working while hooked up to the mac but for the **** of it i tried charging from the wall (tried different outlets that all work) and the thing will not charge. it will only charge from the computer only why is this please help someone
    IMAC G5 20" INTEL, IPHONE 8G, IMAC G4 17", IPOD 60G   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Same thing happened to me. Suddenly, I could not charge from the wall outlet. To test it, I also tried to charge my iPod from the unit and it didn't work. Went to Apple Store and got a new USB wall charger, even though the Genius guy gave me a hard time and was convinced nothing was wrong with my charger. He exchanged it, I took the new one home and it works perfectly.
I have read that other people's chargers are defective, too. Hope this helps.

  • IPod Touch 4th gen will not charge, or sync to iTunes

Hello, I have a 2 year old iPod 4th gen 32 gb.  About a week ago a realized that when a charged it the charging screen did not appear.  I made no big deal about it since it still charged, but then I tried to connect it to my cpu to see if anything changed, nothing did (it also cannot connect to iTunes to my cpu but can connect to the app just fine).  So I went on with it but recently it stopped charging all together.  I'd power it down at night and turn it on in the morning and didn't charge at all past 20% So I powered it down and this image came up.Yes, I have seen this image before but when I plugged it in and got the  charging screen after it died.  But now it cannot get past this screen I left it plugged in all day and it doesn't do anything else.  I can reset it after 10 minutes to wake it up but it dies again almost right away now normally i would just toss this away, since how old it is but I'm getting an iPhone soon and I want to be able to transfer everything over, to the iPhone but it keeps dying before i can do anything.  And I would like to fix it so I could sell it for some cash.

  • HELP ipad not charging or connecting to pc

ipad 1 doesnt charge unless it is turned off fully it does not say anything on the batery sign i want to restore it but i can cause it doesnt show up on the pc or laptop

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • TS2771 Ipod connects to tv, but will not charge or sync

My ipod was charging fine on my drive home. I connected it to my tv with the video cable and was watching netflix. Then I got a message that the battery was at less than 20%, even though the ipod had been connected to the wall charger the entire time I was watching.
I've tried every charger, every cable, every dock, and every computer I own now, and it will not charge with any of them. Neither my desktop or laptop will recognize that it is connected. The ipod never shows that it is connected or charging. I tried pushing the power & home buttons to reset it and still have the same problem. The reset made no difference. And I'm low on power so there's not much else I can do before it completely runs out of charge.
Any idea why it would give out on me so suddenly, or what I can do to fix it?

  • CECHZC2E controller not charging

Hi, My PS3 sixaxis controller doesn't seem to want to charge. It's NOT a battery issue - this happened before, and I replaced the battery, and it then worked fine. It's now been some time since I've last used it. When I took it out it was completely dead, so I tried to charge it and it wouldn't charge, I checked the battery, and it was dead.  So I bought a brand new battery again, and after I replaced it, the controller works, but won't charge.  When I plug it in, the charging animation (on the tv) briefly appears, then disappears and gets replaced with a dash symbol.  I also tried charging it from a common wall USB charger, and that doesn't work either, the LED on the front doesn't light. Is there anything I can do, or is this thing now only useful as a door-stop?

Hi, it works connected or not, but the battery is depleting, and I can't charge it, so it's going to go totally dead and then I'm stuck.
