  • Updating iPod Touch Software Version and Apps saved game data

When I transfer my apps from iPod touch to iTunes will it also moved the saved game data like in Zombie Cafe, Amateur  Surgeon 2 so on and so fort? Because I want to update my software version...

No.  Transferring the app to the computer only transfers the app itself. not app data.  App dat is stored in the iPod backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the a sync and of an update.  Therefore, I would do one last sync of the iPod before restoring and ensure that the backup gets made.  You can check by going to the Devices tab in iTunes' Preferences and looking at the date of the backup.  Also, make sure your apps are in your iTunes library since the apps themselves are not in the backup but are synced to the iPod at the end of the update.

  • I updated to 5.0.1 and lost all my game data for my apps since the update and have checked my devices table and tried to upload anyone got any idea how to get my freaking game data back

    Can any one help?

    Hi,
Thanks for replying so quick. I think before the update the apps were not in the library. Now after the update the apps are in the itunes libary minus the game data. I think that happened because I tried to find my game data. I search my pc and found a previous itunes libraries folder and when I used that I found a file I clicked on a file called itunes Library 2012-01-10 that opened in the itunes library. The date on that file was the date of the upgrade to 5.0.1. when I lost all my games data.
There is another file in the itunes libcalled iTunes Library 2011-03-16 would it be worth trying to download that as it may have more game data?
I ment to say the devices tab not table it is the option in the iTunes app to find out about your device.

  • Just synced and updated os for ipod touch 5th gen and have lost game data - restore won't get it back, is there anyway to retrieve?

Have new ipod touch and successfully transferred game data from old ipod touch, but today have updated to the new os (from 6.1.2 to 6.1.3) and now have lost game progress on several apps.
Have tried to restore the backup but it doesn't bring back the game data
Is there anything I can do to find this data or is it gone for good?

If restoring from backup did not work then there is nothing else you can do. Did you try both from iTunes backup and iCloud backup? If you restore from iTunes backup you have to have the apps in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup.

  • IPhone 4 to iPad - game data restoring

Hi I just bought my new iPad - and this is the situation I have.
I currently have an iPhone 4 and i set up an account (A) for itunes - to purchase apps and music, use this account (A) as well for iCloud and Game Center.
For the iPad, I setup another account (B) for iCloud and Game Center (as this device will be used by all my family members) and I will use the other account (A) for the itunes - to purchase apps and music.
If I had the same game downloaded on the iPhone 4 and iPad - how is it possible to transfer my existing game data from iPhone 4 to iPad.
    Kind Regards

I do the same thing.  16gb wifi ipad 2 and teather to my ATT iphone 4...  I too get the chain link, and at times it does not work as well.  What I do, is turn my ipad off, and then back on.. And then reestablish my link.  All is well after that.
I have not had a chance to try it since the most recent update to both devices, so unaware if the new updates fixed the problem, but it does seem like a bug to me.
I hope I've been some help

  • Restore game data if iPod is restored due to forgotten passcode?

It's amazing how many posts/discussions there are about lost/forgotten passcodes.  Apple really needs to do something about how to fix this other than completing wiping out the ipod.  Totally ridiculous.
We set a restrictions passcode on my son's ipod, but it somehow magically changed at some point.  We ended up having to restore and then re-sync apps, etc. in order to reset the restrictions passcode.  A restore of a previous backup doesn't work since the passcode is part of the backup.
Since we couldn't 'restore' from previous backup, we had to re-sync all the games back after the touch was setup as a 'new' device, but they all ended up going back on the touch as if they were newly installed - all game data lost.  Is there a way to get it back since I cannot restore?  Is there a way to prevent this?
When I updated all 3 of our iPods to IOS 5.01, it also wiped out the ipods, but we were able to sync the apps/games back and keep the progress data.  I'm confused as to what the difference is and if I could have avoided this.
    Thanks!

Compare what you did to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nANBANgD40Q.
This will place it in DFU mode and allow you to restore it.

  • Will app data update between devices?

I just got my new Ipad.  I have an Iphone4.  I got the apps installed on my new Ipad that I wanted.  My question is now using these apps. I have a diet app that logs my food intake and such.  If I use and update this on my iphone will that updated info get pushed to that app on my Ipad and vice versa? And what about game data?  Seems I have to start over on levels in my games.
Im also a bit confused about the icloud backup and tried doing the Itunes wi-fi sync which never worked.  I still had to connect with the cable in order to sync even though the box to sync to wi-fi was checked.

This is the way that I understand iCloud syncing to work.
App data from apps that support iCloud will update on all devices. For example, the Apple iWorks apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynote will update across iDevices. App developers have to make their apps "iCloud ready" in order for the seamless syncing of app data. Calendars, bookmarks, Notes, Reminders will sync currently as well. Your game is not "iCloud ready" at this point - is my assumption.
As far as the wireless sync is concerned, sync again with the cable and then after you sync, select the Wifi option in the summary tab of iTunes and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes and then see if you can sync via WiFi.

  • ITunes 9 - Home Sharing Settings and Saved Game Data?

The new "Home Sharing Settings" feature to automatically transfer applications from one home computer to another is great. However, it seems like there is a huge omission with this feature if you can't transfer your game settings and saved data when you use this option as a way to change computers to sync an iTouch or iPhone.
Here's my scenario: originally had iTunes on a Windows PC to purchase and sync up my iTouch. Recently bought another iMac and want to use it as my "master" computer to sync up my iTouch. Used the Home Sharing Settings feature to quickly copy all of my songs (with ratings) and apps from the PC to the Mac. Everything great so far.
Purchased a few more apps in the iTunes store on the iMac. Plugged in the iTouch to copy the new apps, but of course it wants to delete everything and start over (to be expected I guess). But with that I assume all of my saved game data in my 50+ apps will be lost!
    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I've now authorized my laptop with my fiance's itunes account and my personal iTunes account, this is key.
I'm now able to transfer songs from either her laptop or my iMac (where my music is stored for now) as long as the current logged-in Home Sharing account is active. So it's basically like logging into an ftp server, only one connection allowed at a time.
So just turn off Home Sharing and then turn it back on again, re-enter the other systems iTunes account info and there you go, you can transfer from that one now. Of course this would be simpler if you were just merging two computers/accounts instead of adding in a 3rd laptop like my experiment. You should just have to make sure all computers involved (up to 5) are authorized for all the iTunes accounts involved.
And yes using the settings button with in the home sharing window, you should be able to automatically sync any new purchases from the current shared account, music, movies, apps, etc.

  • Very Extensive Gunner Z game data deleted? Included In-App purchases

My IOS game app, Gunner Z by Bitmonster, is no longer able to retrieve my very extensive saved game data which included literally over a year of play and several In-App purchases. This disappearance of my data did not follow any update to the game itself or the IOS System software. I was merely loading the game back onto my iPad 3 IOS 7.0.4 after I had to remove some of these larger apps to make room. I had my iPad set to do automatic backups from my iPad of my data including Gunner Z once every few days. Over more than a year that I used the app initially, I never had an issue restoring my game data. All I want is to have my data restored. I had cleared all the levels, had purchased the golden weapons upgrade, the Ceramic Armor upgrade, and had achievements and stats mirroring my roommates info .
Thank you for any assistance you can lend,

    Hi
My situation is similar to Darkendart, however I did not delete the game. I went to play it without having my wifi enabled, and as I believe this game requires wifi to save data. So I was directed to the tutorial. I realized my mistake and therefore closed the app and minimized it (double tapping home button) and reopened it with wifi enabled. The game stated that I had logged in with another device, and therefore must continue with its recent save. After restarting the app many times, it always came up with this message, so I went with it to see if it worked. Of course, I was directed to the tutorial and all of my data was gone, without the option of bringing it back. Although I had made no in-app purchases, I did have approximately 600 000 saved up cash and had proceeded well in the campaign, and I would very much like it back if possible (my trucks were called Kevin, Leroy, Clyde, Barbara and Gareth, all done up well - who wouldnt want THAT back) . My icloud data was up to date as well....
Thank you in advance for seeing to this issue and assisting me

  • Help with saving FarmVille game data...

Ok, I need a bit of help...
I have an issue with saving data from a facebook game, FarmVille.
On my old computer which was running Windows XP when playing FarmVille the game only ever used to reload when it was updated. If I quit the game then went back in and it appeared to be loading the content from some saved data as it would load straight away compared with the 5 minutes it took when ever the game was updated.
I have now bought a new computer running Windows 7 and when I play FarmVille it now wants to reload from scratch each time I go into the game and it is sucking up my broadband usage really quick by doing this.
I have been trying to play around with different settings to see if I can get flash player to save the data but nothing seems to work. I am now starting to think it may not be flash player that is the problem.
If anyone knows how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I am using IE9 but I do not have that setting set and I hardly ever delete all my history etc.
I have also just tried playing on my partners apple which I dont know much about except that it is about 5 years old. Anyway the apple is doing the same thing that this new computer is doing... hmmm.

  • How can I restore single saved game data?

So I recently updated Infinity Blade 2 with the new update that just came out. However, this wiped my saved game.
However, my phone does iCloud backups, and I noticed that the saved game data was backed up previously.
Is there a way for me to restore the game and get my saved game back? I can see the saves but I don't know how to get them back!

I don't know if Macroplant's iExplorer application would help here, but I've posted details on how to back up and restore individual game data (achievements, scores, etc.) for future reference.

  • Is there any way to backup the game data?

the home button on my ipod toch just recently stopped working. So apple said they would give me a free replacement uipod. So the problem is, i have like 40 games with many finished  levels and acheivements. So i was wondering if there is any way to back up the games AND the game data? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    - Easy. Before yu send yu iPod away, do one final sync.  The sync insluceds a backup of the iPOd. The backup includes app data and other things.
    iTunes: About iOS backups
    - Also, make sure that all apps and tother iTunes prucahses are in the iTunes library.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - When yu get the rplacement, restor the replacement from the backup of the original one.

  • Problem with App Game data/progress and restriction passcode

    Hi,
Here is my problem, for an unknow reason my 7 yrs old daughter was able to add a passcode for the restriction including SAFARI. Naturally, she doesnt know which passcode she put TWICE!!
Since I want to be able to navigate on SAFARI the only way I found was to do a restore via iTunes.
THE PROBLEM is that by doing so I will be losing ALL my apps game data/progress which I dont want.
I have an IPAD 2 with the latest version 7.0.4.
What is the solution to reset the restriction password without doing a full restore or how to do a restore without loosing my game progress/Data?
    Tx

That's just not right... Why isn't there any kind of a warning? This is ridiculous, since you can never be 100% sure you can finish the downloading. Your dog can pull out the router power cord, or anyting can happen during these let's say 10 seconds...
How about if I wait until a next update comes up, and I try to install it, would that solve the issue?

  • Does iTunes save my game data when I sync?

I may need to do a restore/update to iOS 6 after finding out that there was more than 4GB of "others" stuff. I really want to save my game data, such as PvZ(Finished game x1), so I need to know whether my game data is safe or not...

Just make sure that you backup your iPod before you update. Before I updated, I backed up to both iCloud and iTunes. The backup includes app data like game status.
