PS3 Game Update Stops (WRT54G)

Hey, I have been playing ps3 online for over a year now and had a different router in my old house. We just got charter set up in our new house today and have a linksys (WRT54G) router. I'm trying to update a new game's version but it gets to 10%-20% and just stops due to the wireless cutting out. Sometimes it randomly signs me out to, but I was playing COD earlier and it worked fine. Any ideas why I can play games fine, but the update stalls over and over? Thanks!!

To resolve this you should Upgrade your router's firmware...
Download the Firmware from here
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
Also make sure that your computer is set to obtain IP automatically, disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer before trying to access the setup page...

Also on the router's Security tab uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
Under the Administration tab disable UPnP, under the set up tab change the MTU size to 1452...

PS3 Game data updates CRAWLING SPEED

Hi guys, got a weird issue with my ps3. So I have wired connection and whenever I just try to download game updates they just slow down to crawling speed. they first start off fine but then random just go super slow. I've factory reset my modem . I can't get any more restarted then that. The isp is iiNet (Australia) but it only happens to my ps3. All my other devices down files fine. Happens all times of the day for every game update

Game Center stopped updating my progress on the leaderboard of Slot Journey. Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution?

After reviewing your post, it sounds like a games progress is not being updated in Game Center. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

If you have an issue with a Game Center game, follow these steps:
Make sure that you have the latest version of the game. To check for updates, go to App Store > Updates.
Test your connection using a different game. If you can't connect with a specific friend or player in multiple games, they might need to check their Wi-Fi connection and router settings.
On iOS, try opening the game from the Home screen, rather than from within Game Center.
If you can't solve the issue, follow the steps in the next section to report the problem to the developer.

(PS3) GT6 update 1.10 installation fails repeatedly

Hi, I have a serious problem with installing update 1.10. The system downloaded and installed the 2GB installation package but when the game started and the installation script wanted to apply the update the installation failed during the process. The only option was to press OK button but the update procedure started over and over again with the same result. I did a complete restore of my PS3 to its defaults and formatted the disk (full format). Even after that I couldn't update GT6. The game can run without any updates installed. Once I check for updates, the system downloads all 9 packages and installs them. Then I start the game and the update proceduce fails the same way like before the PS3 restoration. How could I solve it?

For those who are still struggling with updating problems...pls try to follow steps mentioned below...at least them worked for me !I found these instructions from elsewhere on this site...--------------------------------Hi mate, sorry to hear of your troubles. Settle in because I'm about to write a novel. Seems like you covered most of the big things to try.Unusual that a new formatted HDD is still giving you trouble.Sounds like the issue is probably related to the downloads then, possible packet loss, causing issues with the install. Are you using a wired or wireless connection?Obviously wired is better and you should always use that if possible.Wireless is more susceptible to packet loss during downloads than a wired connection. Do you have a copy of your save file?Are you installing copy that before you try the updates?In other words, any chance the save file is corrupted and causing you issues? Digital download or disc copy?Obviously, also make sure the disc is clean and not scratched, and the laser lens is clean. Only a few things come to mind that you may not have tried.One is downloading the patches in stages.Another is downloading via the new v4.60 XMB option.(Never done it, not sure how it works, but doubtful it will make much difference)The last is an in-game function ... switching off the 'Install Game Data' option.(I'm unsure exactly how this function works) At this stage, considering the game isn't functioning at all, you may as well delete all traces from the HDD.New HDD ... so refomat?Option available from the XMB.XMB ... If no luck it's just a case of try and try again.As you mentioned, using a friends internet, particularly with a different ISP and/or better connection, is a good option. If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

Well this happened to me to. Against the warnings I unplugged Apple TV and plugged it back in. It came back up fine. Ran software update and it downloaded and installed without an issue this time.

I discovered the solution. The external drive I was saving it to was formatted as FAT32. In that format, the largest files can only be 4GB, which explains why it kept stopping at 4GB. I backed up all the files then reformatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), this is possible since I am on an iMac.

Automatic song update stops randomly

I'm running iTunes 6.0.4 (3) on OS X 10.4.6 with a 40 GB 3G Clickwheel iPod (firmware 3.1.1). It's worked fine for more than a year, but recently I restored the software and now automatic updates of music stop at random places (with no error messages, even after sitting for 24 hours or more!). Manual update (drag and drop, up to 8000 songs at once) works fine. I listen to a number of podcasts so would like automatic update to manage these for me.
I saw several similar problems posted, including one I found on Google that no longer appears here. Does anyone have a solution for this?

The XBox uses three PowerPC processors that run very very hot and need constant power and Mac's use Intel processors that run very cool in comparison.
It would take a complete rewrite of the entire games code to make it work on a Mac.
So in short, it can't be done. Sorry.

It look like Apple TV 5.2 updat stops in the middle of Step 1 of 2: Preparing update... It's been sitting there for over an hour. Why and what can I do?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't do much else besides pull the plug. If it causes further problems you should be able to restore as below:
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
On the other hand you may be able to simply start the update again. If however the update continues to fail, you should try the restore routine above.

30 new songs dissappeared when apple update stopped sync in progress!

so i downloaded songs on my ipod and later plugged my ipod into my computer to download them to my itunes library.. as they were syncing to my library a stupid itunes update stopped the progress mid sync and i cant find my 30 new songs anywhere... is there anyway i can get those back?! or is this another apple dissappointment

i resolved my problem.. when u go to ur itunes library they have a fancy purchased tab in the itunes store that has all the purchased songs you dowloaded.. so they let u re-download your selected songs to your intunes library, then all u have to do is sync ipod.
