PS3 Media Server makes entire file system visable

I believe that I have pms set up properly to only show ~/UPNP/ however I can browse my entire file system from my PS3.  I'll attach my config file, please let me know if this is my own fault or something else that's going on here.  Thanks!
PMS.conf which is in /opt/pms/

My PS3 media server installation will only read from ~/.config/PMS/PMS.conf. Copy all your settings to that file and restart pms and you should be good to go.

Hello. After this update(Java for OS X 2013-003) stop working Ps3 media server. How to fix it?

I fix it. I restored the contents of /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines with the contents found in my latest TimeMachine backup from before the update, PMS works like  again. Something in the latest Java update does break the PS3 mediaserver.

  • Can I set up a ps3 media server with OSX Mavericks with out additional software?

I cant find any thing on the net about this. Does any one here know how I might set up my PS3 media server with OSX Mavericks with out additional software?

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
Try control - clicking on it and see if you get an open option. If not, go to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General and set it to 'Allow apps downloaded from' anywhere. For safety, you might want to change it back to something more secure.

  • Archive Repository - Content Server or Root File System?

    Hi All,
We are in the process of evaluating a storage solution for archiving and I would like to hear your experiences and recommendations.  I've ruled out 3rd-party solutions such as IXOS as over kill for our requirement.  That leaves us with the i5/OS root file system or the SAP Content Server in either a Linux partition or on a Windows server.  Has anyone done archiving with a similar setup?  What issues did you face?  I don't plan to replicate archive objects via MIMIX.
Is anyone running the SAP Content Server in a Linux partition?  I'd like to know your experience with this even if you don't use the Content Server for archiving.  We use the Content Server (currently on Windows) for attaching files to SAP documents (e.g., Sales Documents) via Generic Object Services (GOS).  While I lean towards running separate instances of the Content Server for Archiving and GOS, I would like to run them both in the same Linux LPAR.
    TIA,
    Stan

    Hi Stanley,
If you choose to store your data archive files at the file system level, is that a secure enough environment?  A third party certified storage solution provides a secure system where the archive files cannot be altered and also provides a way to manage the files over the years until they have met their retention limit.
Another thing to consider, just because the end users may not need access to the archived data, your company might need to be able to access the data easily due to an audit or law suit situation.
I am a SAP customer whose job function is the technical lead for my company's SAP data archiving projects, not a 3rd party storage solution provider , and I highly recommend a certified storage solution for compliance reasons.
Also, here is some information from the SAP Data Archiving web pages concerning using SAP Content Server for data archive files:
    10. Is the SAP Content Server suitable for data archiving?
Up to and including SAP Content Server 6.20 the SAP CS is not designed to handle large files, which are common in data archiving. The new SAP CS 6.30 is designed to also handle large files and can therefore technically be used to store archive files. SAP CS does not support optical media. It is especially important to regularly run backups on the existing data!
Recommendation for using SAP CS for data archiving:
Store the files on SAP CS in a decompressed format (make settings at the repository)
Install SAP CS and SAP DB on one server
Use SAP CS for Unix (runtime tests to see how SAP CS for Windows behaves with large files still have to be carried out)

  • How best store files on application server: Tables vs File system

    Hi Experts,
We want to let users to upload files to application server. The number of files can potencially grow over time (1000 files every month) though I whould like to limit size of each file not more than 1-2 MB.
Also files should be classified (having custom attributes) so later on we need to search, select files according to attributes.
So what are the best options in long run (for performance, reliability etc)?
We have NW system 7.0 with MaxDB
I can think of the following options:
    1. Store files in TRANSPARENT table in RAWSTRING. Easiest variant (to select files etc) Here I have concerns how this table and database behave after some period of time and what will happen if size will grow to let say 50 GB. Will it work? What are normal size limits for transparent tables?
    2. Store files in CLUSTER table in RAWSTRING. Less convenient to work with (joins are not allowed etc). Will cluster table help to handle big size of table? What are practical size limits for cluster tables?
    3. Store files on file system (on application server) and write info (attributes etc) into ztable. Select from ztable and read content file from file system (dataset commands?). So files will be written to one directory just one after another.
What are the best option to follow? I would personally prefer option 1 as easiest but have servious concerns regarding size of one transparent table.
    What do you recommend?
    Regards,
    Dmitry.

    Hi,
I too feel that option 1 would be best choice.
For your ref: Check the Transp.table REPOSRC and the field name DATA
Also Check the technical settings (Size category).

  • Cannot uninstall Exchange 2013 from Server with REFS file system

EX2013 SP1 installed fine on the 2012 R2 server with REFS, but now I need to remove it and reinstall. When I go to uninstall it, I get an error that "the specified installation directory must be located on a NTFS file system". I have tried
via control panel and command line.
I could avoid the uninstall if I could replace the Enterprise Edition license key with a standard key. the "Change License Key" option only allows you to go from standard to enterprise.
Any advice on either issues? (uninstall from REFS or change enterprise key to standard key)
According to the below TechNet article REFS is supported for an install, but maybe not an uninstall

    Hi,
    1. I suggest romving previous Exchange server via ADSIEdit.
NOTE: It is better to try the steps with the assistance of a MS support. Do remember to backup the AD.
    2. Then reformat the file system to NTFS.
    3. Last, reinstall the new standard Exchange version.
    Thanks

  • WRT610N + PS3 + Media Server, does it work?

    Hi All
New here so please bear with me
A simple question can the WRT610N media Server be seen by a PS3? and if so how?
There seems to be very little detail out there.
    Thanks

It absolutely will work.  If you are lucky enough to have an external HDD that is seen by the router.  A lot of HDD's are not seen anymore since the 1.00.02B10 firmware upgrade.  Turn on sharing to the HDD, then enable the media server and it will show up in the PS3's menu.
    Have fun!

  • Why Adobe media Encoder makes 3 files when export in MPEG2 ?

I try to compress a sequence using File-Export-Adobe Media Encoder -MPEG2-DVD. I want to reduce the size of my sequence (normaly exported as .AVI file) When done, I have 3 files: 1) .m2v 2) .Wav 3) .mcses
What are theses files ? Should I use something else to reduce the size of my files to fit on a 4.7G DVD...?
    Thanks !
    Franc St-Louis

The .m2v file contains the MPEG-2 video.
The .wav file contains the PCM (uncompressed) audio.
The .mcses file contains information about chapter markers.
Encore will use the MPEG-2 file "as is" and by default compress the PCM audio to Dolby Digital (AC3).
There are basically two options to make your project fit on a DVD:
Export a DV AVI file from Premiere and let Encore decide on the best compression settings "on automatic".
Do a bit budget calculation and use the bit rate numbers found in Premiere's Media Encoder.
To assist you with the bit budget you can use one of these online calculators:
    Bitrate Calculator
    CustomFlix Bit Budget Calculator
    Chris Linke Bit Budget Calculator
    DVD-HQ Bitrate & GOP calculator

  • Receiver server for Receiver file system

    Hi,
I am trying to create a scenario where the data from SAP system goes to XI through ABAP proxy and has to write the data in the file.
    My Question...
In the Integration directory my sender system is ABAP Proxy and receiver system is File adapter.
When I try to create a distribution channel of type XI adapter, I cannot select it as sender. By default it comes as receiver. How Do I go about doin this scenario.
Also, since I have to write to a file, it is my receiver(outbound adapter). Please can anyone tell me what would be the service definition for this as I am writing to a directory!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sam,
Your query actually pertains to XI. Please post it in the Exchange Infrastructure forum.
    Kind regards,

  • Ps3 media server and itunes

I was wondering if there was a way to view movies and tv shows i downloaded from the itunes store on my ps3 like how you can do it with windows media player. I opened my itunes folder for sharing but i can't seem to view the content(movies and tv show). is there a way to do this that or is it because the format of the movies and tv shows just not compatible with the ps3

Anything you download from iTunes will be DRM protected and will probably only be able to be viewed or played in iTunes on an Apple Ipod or Apple TV.

  • Refresh to New Server with different file system

    Dear Gurus,
We are having our Production DB,Test and RMAN in 10.2.0.3. We are trying to refresh TEST database with production db with last months backups and I've few queries.
    Below is the filesystems:
    Prod: /u99 for backup
    Test: /ttu/t99 for backup
Datafiles locations are different and I can use either "SET NEWNAME" or "DB_FILENAME_CONVERT".
My production uses catalog database RMAN.
How can we duplicate test db with production (having catalog) with different backup locations on both systems. We don't have permissions to create similar directory structure on test machine.
With this I only left with restoring the production db on test server and then renaming the database. But, I want to know, if there's any possibility with RMAN directly to refresh TEST db.
    Please help me.
    Regards,
    Kumar

If you want copy database to different OS, the n you must use transportable tablespaces
    see more : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14191/ontbltrn.htm
if you want copy database to same OS, then you can use backup based - DUPLICATE command or disaster recovery with is you shall use RESTORE database with SET NEWNAME option.

    1. I just need to understand whenever the reports are generated through BIP, are there reports stored on some local directory (say Reports) on the BIP server or Siebel File system? If on a File system how will archiving policy be implemented.
    2. When we talk of load balancing BIP Server. Can the common load balancer be used for BIP and Siebel servers?

    Hi,
We do a backup of the our BI production server every night (OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BI1)
    The process we follow is:
    1. Stop BI Services
    2. Weblogic (incluedes Node Manager, Weblogic and others)
After every stop of weblogic, there is a file get created under WLS_Home/instances/instance1 and the file is like core.xxxxx ( e.g. core_31176, core_19440).
My questions regarding these files are:
    1. What is the use of these files?
    2. Can I delete them (Depends on the answer of the above question)?
    3. Is it possible to control not to create these files (if they are not useful)?
    Thanks in advance.
KiranCheck this thread: CORE.xxxx big file... What is it?
It sounds like it is safe to remove those file's unless you need to debug any weblogic issues.
Please mark correct or helpful if answered.
    Thanks,
