PS3 NAT Type 3 trouble! E1000

the begin off the first week using this router my NAT type was 2 then after I updated the firmware to the recent one (check the date) but ive tryed so many tutorials on how to change it but no luck! ive tryed DMZ and opening ports somewhat.
anyone got any ways to get me to NAT type 2?
this sucks.

Who is your Internet service provider?
If it is DSL connection then make sure that your modem is configured in bridge mode.
Open the setup page of the router and check the Internet IP address on the status page.
Change the MTU size to 1365. Save the settings.
Go to Security tab and uncheck the box ' Filter anonymous Internet request'. Save the settings.
Is your PS3 wireless or wired to the router?
You have already upgraded the firmware on your router. After upgrading the firmware on your router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 301 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.

  • E1000 + PS3 =NAT Type 3 Help

I know this has been asked before but nothing seems to work for me. My story is:
I had a WRT150N with a modem in bridge mode and got NAT Type 2 while playing the PS3. The router crashed and I got an E1000 in its place it came with the basic setup CD so I ran that. Then I was getting NAT Type 3. So I called Linksys, and AT&T and neither could help me we opened the ports that Playstation gave me and made sure the UPnP was enabled and all the things they could think of to open my NAT type. But nothing has worked, so if anyone knows anything I could do please let me know. Its just hard to believe that its my playstaion when I had an NAT Type 2 before my old router crashed. I'll supply screen shots whatever you need, I just cant stand to have this NAT type cause it messes with my online gaming.
    Thanks for the Help,

Did you set up PPPoE for the new router and put your modem into bridge mode?

  • WRT54G with PS3 NAT TYPE 3 needs to be changed!

    Hi all,
I've been trying to change my Nat type from a 3 to a 2. I have a ps3 20gig (sadly) that is directly connected to my laptop (wired). My laptop has wifi and I'm able
to play games online. The only problem is that I'm not able to invite friends into my party or host any games for Call of Duty 4. My ps3 is set at Nat Type 3
and I think that's the problem here. I have a Linksys WRT54G router and UPnP is enabled on it. My laptop has UPnP enabled as well. I've tried everything I could
find, but there's not much info for someone who has a setup like me.
I setup a static ip for the ps3 on my laptop, and the only ip that will work is 192.168.0.10.

Your WRT54G is connected to another router (maybe your modem?) which has IP address 192.168.2.1. To get that working you have to configure port forwarding on 192.168.2.1 and on the WRT54G at 192.168.1.1. UPnP won't help you here because UPnP will only configure the WRT but not the router to which the WRT is connected to. Thus you have to set explicit port forwardings (don't know which ones the PS3 requires).
Otherwise consider setting up the WRT as access point only like this.
Or find out how to set the modem into bridge mode (i.e. turn off the router in the modem). After that you have to configure the router for your internet connection (usually PPPoE for DSL or DHCP for cable). This way you have the WRT54G directly connected to the internet.

  • PS3 NAT Type

Hi there, anyone have a guide how to open up the NAT type on the PS3 with the HH4, on the main settings/test on the PS3 this is type 2 - used to be type 1 with my old provider. When using COD the NAT is set to moderate. this used to be open, before i got the HH4.
I also set the IP address in the router to static with no success.
    Many thanks

I'm not sure how to set up my modem in "pure bridge" mode
Broadband ADSL2+ Modem DM111PSP User Manual - Netgear
Please refer to item #3 on page 13 and also Page 64 in the User Manual, which explain how to do this.
You must configure the modem in Bridge Mode or "Modem Mode" first and then configure the AirPort Extreme to connect using PPPoE. Enter your user name, password, etc., in the AirPort Utility setup, but leave the Service Name area completely blank. Connection should be "Always On" and Disconnect if Idle should be "Never".
You cannot configure the AirPort Exteme to connect using PPPoE unless you first configure the modem in pure bridge mode, or "modem mode".
This is the only way to obtain "Open NAT" using this modem and the AirPort Extreme.

  • PS3, Nat Type 3

    Hi there
I simply can't get rid of nat type 3! It's driving me crazy, with slow download speed! In order to get nat type 2, i need to add/open TCP and UDP ports.
According to sony, i need these ports:
    TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080
    UDP: 3478, 3479
    http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html
Since I got an airport extreme, I followed this guide:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1721743?start=0&tstart=0
UPNP is enabled on the PS3, and I know none of apple's routers support that.
Have I missed something? How do I get nat type 2?

Suggest that you set up the Apple router in Bridge Mode. Then be sure to power cycle the entire network.
That means powering everything completely off...no standby, etc.
Leave everything off for a few minutes
Power up the modem/router first and let it run a minute by itself
Then power up the Apple product the same way
Continue starting devices one at a time until everything is powered back up

  • PS3 Nat Type 3 Cant change Using Wrt120n

    i
have listed all ports udp and tcp i have disabled UPnP i have changed mtu to 1364 and tried 1365. i have rebooted both router and modem. still no success. Cant seem to change nat type 3 to nat type 2. plz does anyone know of anything else i can do. i am use a WRT120n wireless router

I think you have one of those modem/router combos, and that you're cascading into a wrt120n. Does your modem/router combo have wireless or multiple ports?
    I have a suggestion:
Since your wrt120n's ip address is 192.168.1.1, try using the DMZ on your modem and give it to your router's address. Then forward the ports from your router to your PS3. I hope that will help. Also set the PS3 to automatically acquire it's IP address and DNS server.

  • PS3 NAT Type 3 with WRT160n v2.

I am getting NAT type 3 on my PS3 and Strict on my Xbox 360. I had Brighthouse but I just moved and now have Embarq/Century Link. With Brighthouse I had NAT Type 2 on my PS3 and Open on my 360. What gives? Even if I run a cable straight from my modem to my PS3 it still shows NAT Type 3 and it will show Strict on my Xbox 360.

Who is your Internet service provider (ISP) ?
Well, it is not quite clear with the post that who is your current Internet service provider. But as per my understanding it seems that you are using DSL connection. So, what's the connection type are you using PPPoE or DHCP.
If you are using DHCP connection then contact your ISP and tell them that you want to use PPPoE connection .This should fix the issue for you.

  • PS3 Nat Type 3 - Airport Extreme Router

    Greetings internet people;
I am an Airport Extreme user (connected to a Motorola 2210-02 DSL modem via ethernet) - with a PS3 who is finding it incredibly frustrating to get my network to work with my PS3 in NAT 1/2 -(Modern Warfare 2 is difficult with variable lag/no party invites).
This is my current network layout:
    http://grab.by/ABS
    Modem information screen:
    http://grab.by/ACb
Our ISP is Bellsouth (AT&T) and the modem is currently set to PPoE. I think I set up port forwarding to a static IP for the PS3, but still, nothing I've done/read online has worked, or I haven't done it right.
(I tried plugging the PS3 directly to the modem and it still remains in NAT Type 3.)
I need the network to stay in tact - so that wireless works etc. I could set up the switch between the modem, but I'm still not sure if that'd do it. ----
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to figure this out so I can actually play my PS3 online :<
    Peter

I have the same Motorola model 2210, but the screen shots in the original post were different, so you may have to search a bit for things.
The 2210 provides NAT service, and the only way to hook it up to the AEBS to Connect Using "Ethernet" will result in the double NAT because the AEBS is also furnishing NAT services.
You will need to use the web interface for your modem and you will probably need to plug it into your computer to configure it. The setup page(s) on my model will display when you enter 192.168.1.254 into your browser. Check your documentation to see if you will use the name address or a different address.
When you log into the modem, look for an Advanced setting, PPP Location, or similar. You need to change the PPP setting from the current "On the Modem" to "On the computer or router". If there is a setting for "Bridge Mode", you can use this as well. Update to save changes on your modem and it will restart.
Important...you may not be able to get back into the modem configuration again unless you reset the modem by holding in the reset button for approx 10 seconds. Then you will be able to reconfigure the modem if you need to do so.
Reconnect the modem to the AEBS and open AirPort Utility - Manual Setup. If AirPort Utility does not "see" the AEBS, temporarily connect an ethernet cable from your computer to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AEBS and try again.
After you click Manual Setup, click the Internet icon at the top of the setup pane and look for the Connect Using setting. You need to change this to PPPoE. Then enter your user name (probably your email address with the ISP) and password. Important....leave the Service Name area completely blank. Do not enter anything here.
Click Update and the AEBS should restart with a green light in about 20 seconds. You have now eliminated the double NAT between the modem and AEBS. Sorry, I can't help with details on the game console, so there may be some additional configuration needed for that device.
Please post back on your progress.

  • Airport Express PS3 Nat type 3 problem

Recently I bought a Playstation 3. I have succesfully created a connection using the airport express connected to my speedtouch modem. The problem is that when I do an internet connection test on my PS3, it says that UPnP is unavailable and NAT type is 3. This is a major problem because I can't join chats or games, how can I get NAT type 2? It would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance...
    Message was edited by: EDuranMac

I've done that already, foward the ports I mean. Right now I have my PS3 under DMZ and I'm still getting NAT type 3. Since it wouldn't hurt to try this again (forwarding the ports) I will, meanwhile I have a question: do I need to disable UPnP on both the router and the PS3 or leave enabled? Also, does it hurt to enter the PS3's ip address in the DCHP reservation or do I need to leave it outside?

  • Airport Express and PS3 Nat Type 3

I have a Airport Express with a Cisco DPH151-AT modem for AT&T DSL. I'm having a lot of problems trying to get my PS3 get a Type 1/2 Nat, but all I get is Type 3. It's causing a lot of lag and unable to join groups or connect in certain games. Can anyone help me?!?!

I'm confused about this microcell device. What exactly does that mean
A microcell is basically a small version of a cellular tower. It is intended to provide cellular service in a location where the current service is too weak. It provides, in this case, a cellular 3G network to be used by cell phones. It does NOT provide a Wi-Fi network for your computers or PS3. For that you would need either a Wireless Access Point (WAP) or a Wireless Router.
Now the Airport is directly wired to the Cisco DPH151-AT. So is this just a basic modem/router setup? The Cisco DPH151-AT being the modem and the Airport being a router?
The Cisco needs to be connected to either an Internet modem or router in order to access the Internet. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that this is a dual-use device that functions as both a DSL modem & 3G microcell.
Is the Cisco connected to another device? If so, what is its make & model?

  • How to get nat type 1 with airport extreme and ps3?

I use airport extreme as my default router. I have my ps3 connected to a separate airport in a different room. I can only get nat type 2 and want to get nat type 1 as I can barely connect to any hosts online.

NAT type 1 is when you connect your PS3 directly to your modem with no router in between.  The problem with this is that there will be no way to share your internet connections with other devices.  NAT type 2 is where you have a router in between your modem and your PS3, and NAT type 3 is where you have some or all needed ports blocked which is where you would have issues.
NAT type 2 is a correct way for your PS3 to work, and your wireless connection strength may be the reason for connection issues.

  • How to open NAT for Linksys E1000 on PS3?

    question in title:
it seems as though my gameplay on my ps3 has been very THICK(lag and delay on screen), I have tried changing the MTU and some other options and I already notice the difference but i think I can maximize my lag-free gaming if I completely open up NAT on my PS3.
Does anyone have a great guide that works?
Also would changing the MTU/ Disabling UPnP and unchecking anonymous internet requests effect my Download/Upload speeds or anything else, or does it just help fix gaming lag?
Input towards topic and questions i've mentioned will be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.
    Greg

disabling the WMM has something to do with the support you get from the servers  and from i was told that's not needed to be enbled it should be disabled, and by the way the linksys support team explained it's better disabled instead of enabled and it wouldn't hurt to get a actual gaming router .. i went with the E3000 and i ended up having to ship it back  for some defective that i didnt even cause, i would look into a actual gaming router that supports gaming like the e3000 or the e3200 , it should said for gaming consles or something like that but i will totally look into your problem personally and go from there! intil then i would try to get in contact with playstation gaming system and  figure out what ps3 ports are so you can go from there - there should be a way to test the nat type (there  3 nat type's on playstation 3 )  there's nat type 3, there is nat type 2 (which is open)  and there is nat type 1 and the one we want is the nat type 2 i believe, which means open nat type (meaning plug and play enabled and open ports  on the router )

iv'e bascially done everything on youtube and other site's
Im just wondering if it's just the router. Or just the way i have it all setup because my router is setup in

And yeah i just wanna get it to open HELP PLEASE !!!!!
    GriMxDRiFT3r.

Hi - I think you are wanting to connect your PS3 with an internet cable and go wired , rather than wireless.  Going online means being connected to the internet which you have done already only your PS3 and you router have done this wirelessly.
You need to connect your router to your PS3 with a Cat 5 cable - standard ethernet cable, then look at your network settings on your PS3 - set these to a wired connection and choose the auto and default settings through the next pages and see how that works.  It was really straighforward when I set mine up.
    Hope this helps
