PS3 Only getting 10mbps through ethernet.

Hey everyone. I have came across a strange issue recently with my PS3 slim 160GB 3003A (Recent model). It is the only device on my network that is getting 10mbps, as my other devices including my PC and xbox 360 are getting full 100mbps speed (all ethernet).
I have a BT Homehub 3 Type A, on a fastpath profile and don`t suffer from latency issues or ping changes while online gaming. I get a solid 17ms ping to many servers.
Online gaming is fine though but I do download a lot of stuff from PSN and it takes an age to download because of this, I have tried three new cat 6 ethernet cables and changed the ethernet cables to different ports on the back of the router and makes no difference at all. Help would be appreciated it is a strange issue.
I switched to wireless and recieve faster speeds lol but would prefer not to use wireless for my gaming. So ummm...what gives?
I also have recieved the following message yesterday on my PS3 saying "An ethernet cable is disconnected" this is probably a different issue to the speed recieved through ethernet, I hope both are fixable.
P.S I haven`t tried a different router to test it on and I don`t have access to a spare one at this moment in time sorry.

For me, 2wire 2700hvg (new) steady as a rock performs well on long lines or the Billion 7800n built for Australians where they have proper long lines!

I can only get sound through my ipad with the head phones. I haven't had this problem before. I upgraded about a week ago, but this is the first time the sound has been an issue. When I turn up the volume it shows that it is the volume for the headphones but I can't figure out how to adjust the volume for everything. I have rebooted.

Also try this if above doesn't work.
1. Plug and unplug my headphone jack into the iPad four times.
2. On the fourth time leave the headphone jack connected and rotate the plug clockwise, then remove and try your sound.

Look in your applications folder for the installer - Install OS X Yosemite. Delete it. Then go back to the App Store purchases tab and see if you can download it. You might have to re-index Spotlight.

LED in ONT opposite Ethernet socket is GREEN (100 FullDuplex)
My different routers with OEM, Tomato and DD-WRT are 100 FullDuplex WAN
with different PCs, LapTops,
with different OS Windows and Linux
show same result: The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet
I can change and did everything
in protocols, interfaces, speed ports etc.
even connected back forgotten Verizon Actiontec router, reset ONT etc. etc. etc.
but
with same result - 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet

I have 25/25 now.

OK. My story:
At the first I called to Verizon to downgrade back 15/5
They give advise to call technician department before.
Technician tell me that they will reset and change line.
And little by little not same time during couple of hour
the speed go up to 22/22
(my Ip was change three-four times in this interval
I think they connected and disconnected my line)
After that I connect my laptop with CAT6 directly to router
(other than Actiontec and with Tomato, QoS and WMM are disabled)
THE SPEED 25/25 (via Ethernet)!
End of story.
Verizon relax - I will stay with 25/25.
P.S.. After trying other router with A band (5GHz)speed via WiFi a little bit higher...
And now I'm think about Asus RT-N56U...
But it already my problem...

When I try to partition my drive, it only gets halfway through then freezes. Why?

I am on an imac late 2009. When I try to partition my harddrive with bootcamp assistant to 80 gigs, it takes hours to get halfway, but then freezes. This is after fixing the "files cannot be moved" problem by reparing my harddrive with the osx installation disc.

FTTP in evening I only get 10Mbps Exchange SMWS

Hi,
I'm in Milton Keynes connected to the Woburn Sands Exchange via brand spanking new fibre to the home FTTP.
Which is nice and everything consideirng my previous ADSL connection struggled to get above 2Mbps.
Its 9pm on Monday. Currently said FTTP connection is running at 10-15Mbps Down 10-20Mbps Up with latency of anything upto 40ms.
If we compare that to my EE 4G mobile connection of 12-15Mbps Down 10-15Mbps Up with latency of anything upto 45ms.
You can see that BT's FTTP isn't looking too clever.
Early in the morning I can get around 60-70Mbps so there is clearly not much wrong with the service.
I've tonight escalted this with support after doing every test possible and been advised that an engineer needs to visit my house. I have no idea why. But, that is what apparently is going to happen.
So does anyone know how one goes about getting this escalated without wasting the time of an Openreach engineer who frankly have better things to be doing as they have right royally messed-up the comissioing of the FTTP network in my area.
BTW I got FTTP installed last Wednesday and have waited since 18th September to get it installed as mutiple appointments for installation were cancelled.

Videos app only plays sound through Airplay

Hi,
When I airplay a video using the 'Videos' app on my iPhone 4S or my iPad Mini I only get sound through my Apple TV. I understand that I can use Mirroring to see the video as well, but other apps show audio and visual without having to mirror. I tested video stored in the 'Photos' app and a trailer for a movie in the iTunes app. Both of these worked. Does the 'Videos' app not show visuals without mirroring or can I change something?

I tested the 'Videos' app with an iPhone 4 today and audio and visuals worked with my Apple TV using Airplay. Has this feature been removed for more recent products which support Mirroring?

Having a problem out of nowhere really getting this MacBook back online through Ethernet.....it's not the modem because my old computer gets online as well as the ps3.....I think it has something to do in network diagnostics but I can't get it.

to determine which network port is being used go to the blue apple > system preferences > network and then on the show scroll menu select "network port configurations". then make sure the card is detected there, select it, and then deselect any unused network ports. (the rest of them). [ 8 ) ]

i'd like to use labview to get a hardcopy from my oscilloscope tds3034b through ethernet,but after I sent out "hardcopy start" i can't receive any data from oscilloscope.I found some other people also have this issue,I don't know how to close it.wish you give me some suggestions.Thanks.

I cannot get on the internet through Ethernet

Hi Everyone,
I am 100% new to macs, I just purchased a mini used from someone and I have tried to set up the internet through ethernet card and it will not work. I have researched for two days now and there doesn't seem to be an answer. I have done it all using DHCP to try to automatically get the settings but it is bringing up 169 IP address is is wrong. I have tried manually entering the information in and no luck. It is connected straight from the modem there is no router. I am usually good with PC's and could fix everything but right now I am stumped. I am running Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger. I thought I would try this out to see if anyone could help.

OK, If they are not using fixed IP addresses, then you should be using THEIR Router. You should get your IP Address through DHCP from their Router. \[As an aside, there can be quite a large cascade of Routers -- yours plus theirs.]
The 169.254.xxx.yyy address is the "self-assigned" address used by your Mac when no one responds to its initial broadcast of a request for assignment of an IP address. This is a complicated way of saying "no one will talk to you".
One thing to check for before declaring their box dead is the lights when the cables are plugged in. No lights sometimes means you are using a cross cable where a straight cable is required or the reverse. Most modern Macs "sniff" the cable and adjust to use whatever cable is provided, but older Macs do not.
Some providers grab the first M.A.C. Address (Hardware Address) they see, and limit connection to only that device, ever. So if your computer dies and you get a new one, you have to call them up and ask them to reset their box. Sometimes there is a procedure for a "Deep" reset in their manuals, and you may need to apply that now. \[and if you decide to add your own Router later, you call them and tell them you are installing a different "computer". Your Router then becomes the only registered device.]

Only getting 5mb down to my Xbox & Ps3 when all ot...

I have my Ps3 wired to my Homehub 3.0 with a very short Cat 6 ethernet, And im only getting a maximum of 5mb down from the router, Same thing is happening with my xbox but all other devices are getting speeds in the 30s. I have tested both consoles wirelessly and i get the same result, This has only happened in the last week or so and no router settings have been changed prior to this happening.
Can anyone advise on what the problem might be?
Forgot to mention i have already tried resseting the router this did not help

hi goodin982, is your downloading affected by this?
Speed on the PS3 are only estimates and i myself miss a few meg on on the PS3. The only thing i would recommend would be to reset the modem and hub, then redo the connection on your playstation and see where it goes from there, this works for me mostly.
Have you tried downloading something from the playstation store?

Amazon Prime reply app does not allow video airplay - nor do several other content providers.
It must have something to do with digital rights/copyright.
