I bought a Ps3 super slim for Christmas but it keeps freezing. Can I exchange of for the ps3 slim instead. It has not been 30 days yet please help

The best thing would be to upgrade the HDD a future update from Rockstar could block out 12GB users entirely.
This is some good advice. As you can see the process is pretty simple.
In the mean time if you want it to install the game update you will have to delete any videos and Game Data to clear all the space on your console.

New PS3 Super Slim 320 GB model only uses 12GB "Flash Memory"

Bought a PS3 SuperSlim 320GB model( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00422MS8E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 )to replace my now broken FAT 80GB PS3 (that broke recently), I looked and though might as well upgrade get a slim or super slim, more memory quiter ext, so the console arived today and I plugged it in and all was fine, I signed in went on the store and tried downloading one of my games I bought on the PSN store and the message pops up, not enough memory.I sit puzzled looking, there is nothing but the 4.75 system update, then I looked at my system info and it says "9101mb / 12 gb ", "System storage in use Flash Memory". I looked around and it says to make a PS2 / 1 memory card and it made it using none of the 12 GB up, I then formatted the full system, took me to the initial settup screen etc, and the flash memory still had the update on and still isnt using the stupid 320GB memory ( https://i.imgur.com/TBI0hq2.jpg ) , just spent nearly £200, buying a decent console and now its more useless then the 80GB one... Thanks for any help...

If you do decide on another hdd you will need the bracket included with the above hdd.
Make sure the height of the hdd is 9.5mm or less or it wont fit.
Your old 80gb hdd should fit but you maybe missing the bracket to hold it in the correct place.

Hi everyone, I'm debating on which ps3 i should buy...the slim or super slim? what do you guys think?

Slim would be the better choice.
The super slim you have to make sure the disc is snapped on otherwise it will scratch or even break inside.
Second reason is the lens is exposed to dust more easily increasing the chance of it breaking down.
Upside of a super slim its quieter and the bundle deals are enticing but other than that worth choosing it over a regular slim

But for clarification, the iPhone will charge on any USB standard power (5V 1A)
Apple won't support it if your phone erupts into a ball of fire unless you were using their charger.

You will need to cross reference your model number with the part number, or disassemble the bd-drive to find the part number.
In this case, eBay is your friend.

MacBook Air. How to eject CD when it stuck inside of Super Slim DVD player?

I'm using MacBook Air with Super Slim USB2.0 (portable DVD player). I inserted a Blu-lay disk in accident and then the disk stuck inside of the player. I can hear motor sound from the player but disk does not come out. I tried to write "drutil eject" on Terminal but did not work. Please help me how to take the disk out of Super drive. Thanks!

Add on (ps3 to PS4) exchange

I have purchest two add ons to DB XENOVERSE but I was ment to get it in ps4 format not ps3 , I haven't touched it since the purchase , and I done it all on my phone so I haven't sent it to my ps console yet is there any solution or do I just repurchase them in ps4 format ? Cheers

You can do it but when you sign in you need to go to account, media and devices then deactivate all devices. It can only be done once every six months however and then you need to reactivate the devices you want on your account.

PS3 (Playstation 3) issue not loading BDR Bluray | Adobe Encore CS6

I recently created a Bluray using Adobe Encore CS6, and the Bluray is not loading on my PS3, but is working fine on my other player (LG, Toshiba and PC). Does anyone have the same issue and found a solution? I need help on this as most of my client use their PS3 as Bluray player.
Authoring program: Adobe Encore CS6 with the Creative Cloud latest update
PS3 with latest firmware update (PS+ member with auto-update: on)
Video files: 1920x1080 FPS 23.976 Program Stream MPEG-2 for Bluray *.m2v (transcode with FCP Compressor)
Audio files: Dolby Digital Audio *.ac3
Burner software: CyberLink Power2Go V6
Burner hardware: HP BD Writer bd340i
Media: Verbatim BD-R 25GB 6x Speed
Project size: 20/25GB
The project setting in CS6 is: Blu-ray NTSC with MPEG-2 Codec at 1920x1080 at 23.976FPS
The “Check Project” shows no error. I build (output) as an image, then burn the *.ISO file using CyberLink Power2Go.
The BD-R work fine everywhere (LG & Toshiba player) except on my PS3. The BD-R has the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder, so I don’t know why my PS3 don’t recognize it. And I have three PS3 at home; 1xPS3 80GB version (3yrs old) and 2xPS3 super slim (1yr old). All three are unable to see the BD-R. My PS3 work fine with all other media (games & movie Bluray); and I highly doubt that all three have trouble with the Bluray player.
I did the same process last time (in 2013) and everything is working fine, all the same configuration, except I used Adobe Encore CS4. My PS3 was able to read and recognize the BD-R. But since CS6, my PS3 don’t see the BD-R. I also put back the copy that I did last year with CS4 (just to make sure that is not a PS3 firmware issue) and the Bluray work fine. The media (Verbatim) come from the same tower (leftover from last year).
So everything point toward CS6…is there something that change from CS4 to CS6 for Bluray creation? Jumping from Encore CS4 to CS6, I don’t see anything different, but look like there is, because the Bluray can no longer be played on my PS3. Please help!

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

How do I remove the Master PSN User from PS3?

Hi - advance apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I am selling my PS3 500gb charcoal black super slim console (CECH-4003C).
I have been trying to delete the master user name from the console without success. I tried the HDD reformat process (4 hours long!) which didn't work. I also tried signing into PSN and clicking deactivate under account management. No luck.
Anyone know the way to do this? Thanks

The 'Restore system' option in the PS3's settings will delete everything and return the console to the same state it was the very first time you switched it on http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/restoreps3.html

Hi. When buying my PS3 this week it was really hard to choose what PS3 model to buy. I read LOADS online about what the best models are and after reading about the fat's YLOD issues and the super-slim's cheap design, I chose the 250GB Slim model. What model do you have and what is your favorite? let me know!

I managed to source a unopened 160gb Slim. Took about a week but theres something about the design that makes it worth it. Only paid £80 for it too Threw in a 1tb Harddrive and hell I'm one happy guy. They clearly are the best model. Its not a george foreman grill and it's not a cheap bit of plastic. I might get a superslim just incase as a spare as I have no intention of dropping PS3 games even once I pick up a 4 but they need to drop massively in price before I do

Known issues with the Super Drive on an iMac 2.7 Ghz

Are there any known issues with the Super Drive on an iMac 2.7 that would result in speed issues and a grinding sound?

Vertically installed super slim DVD drives are not as reliable as a plain desktop burner. I've had one fail in two of three iMacs and have always had an external which I use most of the time. Other than that, the brand new iMacs do not have a Super Drive, so if that is what you are inquiring about, the point is moot. You need to buy an external anyway. As far as speed, I have never used a burner at high speed - unless you have a professional model, you can easily get burn errors when burning at a fast speed; sometimes consumer models do well burning with high speeds , other times not.

Wireless router wrt310N can't connect to the ps3

I just bought the wireless router wrt310n yesterday got everything setup and installed. My PC works fine with the ethernet cable plugged directly into the router from my modem. But my router does not detect the connection to ps3. When I do the connection test on my ps3 it says exchanging key then connection failed!. Please help me open ports or resolve this issue. Thanks.

I bought the same router for my ps3 i'm using it wired but when i hooked up my psp i had the security on wep2 personal, make sure the passphrase it typed correct it's case sensitive,also check your wireless broadcast and make sure it is in manual and b and g mixed and not broadcasting n since the ps3 is wireless g.

Mortally Embarassed at BestBuy store #187

Let me start off by saying that I love Bestbuy; I am an Elite Plus member and I recommend all of my immediate friends and family to shop there whenever possible. Although customer service can be sometimes questionable, the outstanding price match guarantee policy, competitive sale prices, Gamer's Club Unlocked and the 45-day return period for being an Elite Plus member overly compensate for that.
Just off the top of my head, I have bought a Playstation 4 console, three Xbox One consoles and a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 all from Bestbuy. Not only that but my family has bought a $800 Samsung washing machine, an LG television and a Dyson vaccuum from this company. I had been planning to buy the new 12" Macbook from here whenever it stopped being backordered. Anytime I am planning to buy any electronics or a video games, I would always look to Bestbuy first.
However, today that all changed as I haven't felt so embarassed by BestBuy employees as I did this afternoon. Around 4PM Pst I went in to store #187 trade a 12GB Super Slim PS3 (CECH-4201A) because Bestbuy is currently running this promotion :

Now, I have done countless trade-in's before but the first issue occured with customer service employee "Jill". At the time when I went up the counter, she asked for the controller and hdmi cable to be part of the trade in. On the website and fine print, only the AC adapter and console are stated to be required for the trade in. She said that it needed to be turned on to check the hard drive size so it was necessary. I told her that the serial number will reveal the hard drive size. I retreated to the car and gave her the items she requested but in the end, she couldn't find that information on the system and ended up scanning the console as I originally told her. The trade-in process completes and I discover that the promotional value didn't apply to the Playstation 3 console. I was given $40 gift card and a $75 coupon towards the purchase of a Playstation 4 instead of a $100 gift card and $75 coupon as stated in the fine print of the promotion.
She reversed the trade-in and reprocessed it but the value was still at $40. She proceeded to tell me that only Playstation 3 Slims were eligible for the promotion and the Playstation 3 Super Slims like mine were not. I told her to check the value of a 500GB Super Slim which showed as $100 with the promotion being successfully applied. What she said previously was untrue; the 500GB Playstation 3 Super Slim was eligble for the promotion and thus, all other Super Slim Playstation 3's should have also been eligible. She calls the customer service supervisor over which leads me to the second issue.
"Bart", the customer service supervisor comes over and tells me what I already knew; the 500GB Super Slim was eligble but my 12GB wasn't because the system didn't automatically add the promotional value. Then, he says that it's because he couldn't even find the item when he searches it in the database. He then printed out the Limitation and Restrictions page and showed me these lines : "Not all products are eligible for trade-in" and "Promotions and special offers may not be available in all locations"
I quickly told him that both of these statements were false because "Jill" had just processed it for trade-in earlier at the value of $40 so it was definitely eligble for trade-in. Also, the promotion was clearly available at this location because it had applied to every other Playstation 3 Slim/Super Slim model. He then printed out and showed me the terms of the Trade In and Trade Up promotion which was pointless because it didn't specify that the Playstation 3 Slim had to have a minmum hard drive size. I was frustrated at how uninformed the customer service representative was. He constantly attempted to give me these empty excuses as to why my Playstation 3 wasn't working with the promotion when it rightfully should have. Unsatisfied, I called the overall Store Manager.
"Roy", the store manager came to the customer service department and I told him of the situation. I recommended a solution of issuing a $60 gift card in a seperate transaction so that the total trade-in value for my Playstation 3 would be $100. I was originally hopeful that he would help me resolve the issue but I quickly saw that I was wrong in thinking that. He first tells me that the most likely reason my 12GB Super Slim wasn't being accepted for the promotion by the system was because "Bestbuy sells it for $180 and we're giving you $175 for it so essentially you're losing $5 after playing it for a year". I responded and told him that this wasn't true, I merely wanted the $100 gift card for the console and was not interested in the $75 coupon towards a the purchase of a Playstation 4. Also, the coupon shouldn't be valued at $75 when I have to buy a $400 item to access that amount.
At first he rejects the idea of issuing a $60 gift card to compensate for the promotion not working. As I further defend my reasoning as to why any Playstation 3 Slim should be eligible for the promotion, he changes his mind and offers me his solution. If I traded in my console, he would give me the $60 promotional value. However, there was a catch; instead of issuing me a $60 gift card, he would take $60 off of items I bought in the store at that moment because he could "play around with the pricing". I asked him to specify exactly what exactly I needed to buy to receive $60 off my items, if there was a minmum requirement I needed to spend. He tells me I that needed to buy "maybe a controller and a game in addition to the Playstation 4" or else there was no way he could do it.
I was apalled and embarassed by his response. I asked him for the number of the store, 187, rejected the trade-in, promptly gathered my belongings and left.
I had never been so frustrated, angered and dissapointed by Bestbuy employees before. He wanted me to buy $520 worth of items just to receive the $60 value which should have been rightfully mine in the first place. He acted like he was doing me a favor when I was just trying to honestly take part in the promotion. Bestbuy makes up the rules and conditions, not me and if the 12GB Playstation 3 Super Slim wasn't eligble, it should have been stated in the fine print. The 500GB Super Slim was eligible and the only difference between my 12GB model and the 500GB model is the hard drive capacity; they're both still Super Slim Playstation 3 consoles.
I drove all the way to Bestbuy for the promotion and wasted an hour and a half of arguing and trying defending myself when I didn't do anything wrong. Each employee failed to explain why my console wasn't accepted for the promotion. The entire process, I was calm as I tried to explain why I believed that this was a system error and offered a reasonable solution to the problem. In return, I was left questioning why they made me feel like such a criminal and felt angry that the manager would even think to offer me such a shady ultimatum.
It saddens me to consider other options like Amazon, Gamestop and Target for my shopping instead of Bestbuy but unfortunately, the thought of something like this happening again scares me to the point that I do not feel safe spending my hard earned money here.
This experience has left an extermely bad taste in my mouth in which I cannot just justify this store's actions. I understand that a few employees do not represent an entire company but I don't feel I should just let this go. I am typically very understanding of policies but this time, they disregarded all of my explanations and ultimately made me feel dishonest when I hadn't done anything wrong. The actual trade-in value wasn't actually that important; it was only $60 but the principle was everything that mattered to me and why I spent an hour and a half trying to explain my case. I sincerely wish that no other customers have to be treated the way I did at this Bestbuy.

I truly hope that I can resolve this issue here which is why I posted this long essay. To be honest, I still love the Bestbuy company, but until something is made right, I cannot bring myself to ever going back to store 187 or any other store in fear of feeling as mortified and embarassed as I did today.

The Trade-in and Trade-up to the Xbox One offer was fantastic for our customers looking to upgrade their current consoles! It is deeply discouraging to read through your post and hear that you’ve been left unsatisfied with your trade-in experience as an Elite Plus member.
To my knowledge, this offer was for a $75 coupon towards an Xbox One and a possible $100 Best Buy gift card. Although this offer appears to have expired 5/2/15, I was able to locate some information surrounding this offer. While it seems the $75 coupon was guaranteed with a qualifying trade-in, not all Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles qualified for the $100 Best Buy gift card. With that said, some customers may have received the $75 coupon and their regular trade-in value for their console.
As the terms state that a $100 gift card would be provided for a PlayStation 3 Slim console, your Super Slim console may have had a different trade-in value and not qualified for the $100 gift card. As you state that the store attempted to scan a 500GB Super Slim PlayStation 3 console, it is plausible that the regular trade-in value of this console may have coincidentally matched the offer value. Given this information, I believe the $40 trade-in value provided for your 12GB model would have been correct.
