  • Ps4 connect to laptop using hdmi

Hi! Tell me how I can connect Ps4 to laptop screen using hdmi-cable?

It's highly unlikely that it would work as the HDMI connections on laptops are typically outputs to connect to an external display. I've never heard of a laptop having an HDMI input.

  • Keynotes + iPad2  (AirPlay) + AppleTV  + Digitech HDMI to VGA Converter.

    Hi,
I am going to buy a iPad2, Apple TV and DigiTech HDMI to VGA/Component and LR Analogue Audio Converter, which I want to connect to my data projector in my classroom. AirPlay on the iPad 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10nfcwTHbIA
I want to use Keynotes, and mirror iPad Apps onto the projector.
I will provide various students with iPad2 devices and let them interact with the lesson as well.
Is this possible with Keynotes, and is there another option to regarding the connection to the projector?
At this stage I need to buy a Apple HDMI Adapter ($39), Apple TV ($129), and HDMI to VGA converter ($149). So $319 to get a wireless connection to my projector.
Does anyone have other options ?
    Kind Regards
    Sean Udal

I believe the only devices you need to achieve a wireless iPad 2 mirroring experience on a display is an Apple TV 2.  When iOS 5 comes out in a few weeks the iPad 2 will have full bore wireless mirroring using the Apple TV 2.  The Apple TV 2 outputs an HDMI signal so if your display has HDMI inputs you're home free.  However, you like me (I am also a teacher), have the nasty problem that our classroom projectors only accept a VGA input (probably composite too).  That Apple TV 2 is sending an encrypted HDMC signal to your projector via it's HDMI cable.  So, you need a HDMI to VGA converter that can overcome this encryption.  I just bought a HD Fury 3 HDMI to VGA converter that has a chip in it to deal with the HDCP encryption.  Sadly, I just hooked this system up in my classroom and it doesn't work.  I posted this information in the other thread you started asking about this same issue.  One of our school's tech personal is going to see if he can resolve this but I am not optimistic.  There are many posts in other forums that claim great success with the Fury 3.  If anyone has some insight regarding this I'd love to hear it.  My projector is a new Epson short throw projector.  It cost somewhere in the range of $1600 - $2000.  Sorry, can't remember the specific model off hand.  Anyway, even though it has no HDMI inputs, it is not a cheap projector.

  • Ni supplied hdmi to vga converter

I hope this is right board, my apologies if its not.
Has anyone else had a problem with screen resolutions when using the hdmi to vga converter supplied with a 8133 controller?
the controllers gpu (ati radeon e2400) is more than capable of 2048*(i forget now)
I have a iiyama prolite x2472hd which again is more than capable
through the adaptor (hdmi to vga) i get  1600* 900 @60Hz. highest resolution and I can get it upto 1920*1080 but the refresh makes it unusable.
If i use the controller without the adaptor i get 1920*1080 at 70Hz (i believe it will show at higher resolutions).
if you want want high resolutions from pxi controllers do not use the supplied adaptor
i wanted to post this problem with the solution so other people could find some info as there is little around but any comments greatly appreciated

  • Need to split video signal to both HDMI and VGA

I am hosting an event and the venue has given me a really tough challenge. I need to send a video signal from my Macbook Pro 15"(the highest spec, latest model) to a projector that only accepts VGA and to an A/V system that only accepts HDMI(this A/V system broadcasts the signal to several flatscreen TVs throughout the venue). Here are my two ideas, can anyone tell me if this will fail and if so, are there any other solutions?
Idea 1: Use a mini-display to VGA adapter, split the VGA cable with one VGA cable going to the projector, and the other VGA cable going through a VGA to HDMI adapter to the A/V system
Idea 2: Use a mini-display to HDMI adapter, split the HDMI cable with one HDMI cable going to the A/V system and the other going through an HDMI to VGA adapter to the projector
Idea 3: Rent another projector that accepts HDMI, use a mini-display to HDMI adapter and split the HDMI cable, with one going to the projector and the other to the A/V system(this is the most expensive option and I want to avoid this if possible)
The event is tomorrow evening, and I need to buy these cables today if possible. Would love to hear any ideas, thanks!!!

Yes.  All video and audio outputs are always active.

  • Project using hdmi to vga adapter

I have an  HP Spectre 13, and need to to display to vga projectors.  I bought the HDMI - VGA adatper for this purpose.
When I use the vga plug from a standard flat panel monitor, it works fine.
But I have yet to find either a projector, or a large flat panel (like a ig screen TV), where it works.
Of course I know about going to the "Devices" and then "Project" menu (which can also be accessed using the Windows+P keys), but it still doesn't come up after choosing the "Duplicate" option.
It feels as though there must be somewhere one can find a menu for adjustments, but I have failed to find it so far.
Thanks for any help than can be offered.

    Hi Mario,
My main point is that I go around giving Powerpoint presentations.  For this I need a computer which will drive a projector.  My understanding is that many people in the worl routinely do this, and the standard for this is a plug called "VGA", which is generally colored blue.  I have found these all over the world.
Now this latest computer does not have a VGA connection.  This kind of makes sense, because it is elegantly thin, and the VGA is pretty fat.  I get the feeling that more modern graphics connections are HDMI (which the computer has), and something that used to be called "Firewire", which seems to be becoming the Mac standard.  I read about this when I bought the computer, and for that reason, at the same time that I purchased the computer, I also purchased an HDMI to VGA adapter.
I have been having a really hard time making this work tyring lots of computers.
I had an interesting experience today (while giving such a formal presentation.  When my usual adapter failed, a friend loaned me an Apple adapter for Firewire to VGA.  That worked well, but seemed to cause far different behavior in the Powerpoint viewer.  But I went ahead and gave my talk.
Afterwards, I fiddled with things, noted that how well that works depends on the ORDER in which I connect.  If I first plugged the adapter into my computer, then the projecters VGA into the adapter, it would not work.  But if I reversed that, then it does work.  Any explanation of what is going on there?  Isn't an electrical connection and electrical connection?
Based on that I decided to try the same with myHDMI - VGA adapter, and that worked too!
Please tell me where in any f HP's documentation it says that this order matters, and the correct order is given!?!?
    Best,
    Steve

  • Use HDMI and VGA monitors?

    Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro with the HDMI port, and 2 display ports.
I currently have the HDMI port plugged into an HDMI monitor, and I'm using a display port with a VGA adaper, to go into a VGA monitor.
However, I can only display one at a time. If the VGA is plugged into the display port, then the HDMI monitor does not work?
Is my mac not compatible to run both at the same time? Or do I need to change a setting somewhere....
    Thanks!!

You need a cable from the minidisplay (thunderbolt) port and another from the HDMI port, you can buy a mini to VGA adapter from the Apple store (then a regular VGA cable) and use a normal HDMI cable for the other.

  • Ideapad S400 Touch - HDMI to VGA problem

    Hi,
I need to connect Ideapad S400 Touch to projector which has only VGA input. Therefore, I've bought such converter:
    http://www.amazon.com/Black-Input-Adapter-Converter-Laptop/dp/B007KFVQXI/ref=pd_sim_e_4
Unfortunately, whatever I connect through it (projector, tv, PC monitor) I always have no signal...
I tried HDMI direct connection toTV - works
I tried HDMI to DVI converter and connect to PC monitor - works
but when I use HDMI to VGA like one mentioned above - always "no signal"
Please help. I bought this laptop and now find it useless as I present on beamers very often and am completly stacked now...
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    hi ro174748,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The connection you need is a active coverter.
Passive connection just passes the signal and relay the signal without converting it.
Active connection converts the signal and relay it to the other end.
HDMI send / recieve digital Signal while VGA send / recieve analog
Your corrent covertion will not work if the device cannot recieve digital signals through VGA.
You will need an active converter such as this
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400359
HDMI to DVI operates with Digital signal so no covertion needed, that's why it worked.
Here is a simple discussion about this issue.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Hdmi to VGA issue

I use an HDMI to VGA converter to an external monitor. Recently the external monitor began to flas off and on periodically, and then completely went blank. Tried rebooting, and a second vga monitor with the same results. Purchased a new adapter as well and at first it semed to resolve the issue, but then it returned.
I turned the Laptop off overnight, and restarted, and the external monitor began working again.
That night left the LT go into sleep mode overnight, and when woke the LT the next morning the external display again did not recover.
Turned the LT off again and let it set for about an hout. Turned back on and the external monitor now works again.
I've reset the power options to nev ?er turn the monitor off, but let the LT go into sleep mode to attempt to determine where the issue is.
Not sure if it's heat related or sleep mode related.
Warranty expires in August so want to get to the bottom of this if possible.
    Suggestions?

    Hi there @Spark_Ric
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are trying to use an HDMI to VGA converter to connect to an external monitor. I am happy to help you with a direct HDMI connection, to an HDMI device to test the functionality of the HDMI port. Beyond that I cannot troubleshoot an HDMI-VGA adpater that may not be compatible.
If possible do you have an external HDMI device you can connect to, and test with, or if you prefer as you say you are in warranty, you can try calling our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

Again, it is likely that phone support will want to eliminate the adapter from the chain and test with a direct HDMI connection to verify the HDMI port.

  • S2110 HDMI to VGA connection

Hi all - I bought a micro- HDMI to VGA converter to connect the S2110 tablet to a projector.    I've connected it to a computer moniter and a TV, to test it,  but there seems to be no signal.  Is there an app or a configuration that needs to be done to enable the HDMI out of the tablet?
    Thanks in advance.

A compliant converter wouldn't confirm it was connected to an HDCP compliant device and the Apple TV wouldn't send the movie (or send the "HDCP is not supported" message).
A converter that is not compliant would confirm (circumvent protection) it was connected to an HDCP compliant device and the Apple TV would be fooled into sending the movie.

  • HDMI to VGA no audio

As soon as I plug in my HDMI to VGA converter I now lose audio from the computer / video. It was working fine last night so I am not sure what changed.  Haven't done anything affecting audio settings.
I'm running Windows 8.1 and I've installed all updates received since I bought the laptop on 3/18. Is there a special setting I need to work on to resolve?
    Many thanks!!!

    Hi @Zullyfra ,
    Thank you for your inquiry.
I grasp that when  you connect your HDMI to VGA converter you loose the audio from the computer video.  It was working fine previously and you have not changed any settings.
When you connected the first time was the notebook on or off?
You may want to try  connecting both devices first and then turning on the external device first and  the notebook last.

  • Input signal out of range with HDMI to VGA adapter LE1901w

    Hi!
Recently I acquired an LE1901w monitor to use as second screen. I'm trying to connect it to my Toshiba u925 using an HDMI to VGA adapter (because neither the monitor has a HDMI port nor the notebook has a VGA output).
I'm getting the message "input signal out of range" asking to change to 1440x920 @ 60Hz and it keeps showing until the monitor goes to sleep even when I change the settings as per requested.
I have an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 and i'm using the default Windows monitor drivers for Windows 8.1
    Any comment will be helpful
    Thanks

    Hello @fbinim,
I understand that you are getting the message "Input Signal Out Of Range" and it is asking you to change to 1440x920 @ 60 Hz. I suspect this is a driver issue and you will need to ensure that your drivers are up to date on your computer. Just to be sure I would recommend if you could to move the HP LE1901W monitor to another computer and ensure that you do not have the problem there. If you do have it on another computer The issue you are experiencing appears to be a physical issue. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836.
