Illustrator CC 2014 will not open, gets stuck on loading page

My illustrator CC 2014 trial will not open.
It gets stck on the following loading page...
I have re-booted my computer, signed out of creative cloud, done all software updates but still no progress.
Any suggestions to re-boot my illustrator would be more than welcome!

I have given up trying to solve this problem and gone back to Illustrator CC which works just fine. Every time I try to start up CC 2014, it gets stuck at that screen you see above and each time is is a different font. Reading fonts...various font name here. Sometimes it's an English font, sometimes it's an Asian alphabet font of which I have zero use for.
Maybe someday someone will figure out the problem and reply here. Or maybe I just made a suggestion to someone else trying to solve the problem and they'll just go back to CC as well. Keep paying for CC 2014 and use an old version. Good one Adobe.

How can I get my iPod to sync properly when it gets stuck on 'waiting for changes to be applied' during syncing

My iPod gets stuck at this point every single time I sync it and it will not sync again unless I factory reset it. It also will not sync on Wifi because apparently it is 'waiting for "HP"' (is that my HP laptop? Who knows...). I am syncing on a Windows 8 laptop (since having Windows 8, I have had this issue). Google hasn't provided me with any answers.

Same thing has been happening to me and I havent been able to find a fix. Itunes has basically rendered my phone uselsee. It wont see it, let alone sync it.

There is a serious known issue with Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. The answer to date has been to roll back
the driver version to about May 2013. There is an Announcement at the top of this forum about all this, and much more information to be found elsewhere

I am not sure if an automatic update of the driver version may have taken the driver version from the much older date to current version which is triggering your present situation.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user so I am not sure if the following NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M driver version would work in your Mac computer environment.

The other consideration is the use of Premiere Elements 10 OS10.10.2. I have not seen any reports confirming that Premiere Elements 10 is compatible with OS 10.10.2.
But then again, you report "It worked well 3 months ago. First time it has done it." Where you using the same operating system then as now?
You can also factor into all this the usual drill considerations...
a. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of mouse?
b. Does the problem exist with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
c. Have you deleted the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file
Users/Owner/Libraries/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10.0
d. Is the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?

Aperture 3.03 when quitting gets stuck in "Updating information for preview

Hi there,
i notice that maybe 3 out of 10 times when i quit aperture, it hangs.
There is a progress bar at the top saying "updating information for preview images" (translated, so the english original may be a bit different) but the bar wont move, the disc doesnt make any sounds and when i look in the actvity monitor it says aperture has around 35 threads and uses 1% of cpu power.
i usually then force quite aperture after some time.
if seems to occur more often after emptying the trash.
any ideas?
i get rather frustrated with force quittung becaus i get the feeling its no good for my library, however i run into problems repairing my library as explain elsewhere.

What to do when downloads get "stuck"

When I try to download songs these days, I get maybe 1/16th of the bar filled before it stops. I tried to adjust my firewall software (norton) to allow everything in from ITunes but it has not resolved problem. Sent e-mail to support and was given more of same advice. What's frustrating is that songs had been downloading fine when I first got system. I have no problem navigating in and out of Music Store and can play my existing songs fine. Help.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

IMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010) When booting gets stuck and spins. Won't load HELP! SOS!

Apologies to those wiser in dealing with this. I have Apple everything but am totally stumped with my iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010) booting up and then not doing anything except sitting there with the apple symbol on a white screen with the grey mini-circular slashed like a clock little spinner going on and on and on. It seems to be freezing up and locked somehow.
The last time it did boot... I was attempting to install Mavericks. Can anyone please possibly walk me through a few suggestions?

Once you've booted into Recovery Mode, see if Disk Utility needs to repair the HD. From the four options choose Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD and click on Repair Disk. If anything gets changed click on repair disk again until you get a clean pass. Once done restart as normal from the Apple menu.

IPhoto ´08 gets Stuck

First entry here, so hello all!
Have my first Mac now since some Days. It came with Tiger, but i did the upgrade to Leopard 2 Days Ago. I have some Problems with iPhoto now. I can't tell if it came with the Upgrade to Leo, because i didn't use iPhoto on TIger.
Here is the issue:
When zapping through the Photos of an Event, and turning some of them, it happens quite often that iPhoto gets stuck. The "busy-collourwheel" apears, and iPhoto doesn't react anymore. When checking the running Processes 2 Processes are marked as "does not react":
- iPhoto
- UserEventAgent
I did read in another Topic here in the Discussions, that lots of other users have it on UserEventAgent too.
Hovever it's really sad, that such a cool Software than iPhoto is gets pretty useless, when it gets stuck all the time.
Maybe someone can help me?

Untill now it allways happened, when I was turnig a Photo. I had it in big fiew, so the fiew you have, when doubleclicking on a photo of an Event (so not screenfilled).
2nd small issue: The eject knob of my wireless KB seems not to do it's job.. how can i set it up right?
Well i think the iMac rocks. And i think i will not want to go back on a win PC anymore. now just iPhoto has to work as well, and am totally happy :o)

First delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. See if that will help. Next, create a new temporary library, import a an event or two of photos and see if it will perform as intended. If it does, then your primary library is the culprit. In that case I'd get the paid version of iPhoto LIbrary manager and copy the events and albums from the problem library to the working one like this.
If the temp library doesn't work as intended log into another account and see if iPhoto will open and run there. If not then it's a system wide issue and maybe a reinstall of iPhoto would be warranted. If it does work OK in the other account then your primary account is suspect. In that case it could be a bad preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to check that out:
Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
5 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.

Finder gets "stuck" on top

I've been running into an issue with my MBP recently that is driving me insane.
Occasionally, finder will get "stuck" as the dominant process and I am unable to use the keyboard for any other application. I can click on another application and it will show in front but up in the upper left it will still say Finder. I can usually log out and log back in to get it working properly but it's annoying and time consuming.
This started happening several months ago and seems to be occuring more frequently over the past few weeks. The only connection I can make is that it always happens after I open my MBP after returning to my office after teaching my lecture. When I lecture I connect my MBP into the projector through a cable that runs into a computer system where I then touch "Laptop - send to projector". When I finish my lecture I disconnect the cable, everything works fine and I'm able to run programs and use the keyboard. The problem seems to be happening right after when I close my computer and walk back to my office. When I open it back up, that's when it gets stuck...not every time, but enough to be annoying. It doesn't seem to happen when I directly connect into projectors in my other classroom on other days so I'm assuming it's something with the connection into this so-called "smart" high-tech classroom computer system.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this or prevent it from happening?

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

Canvas gets stuck

What does it mean when a white circle with a black X in it appears in the upper right part of the Canvas? Whenever that happens, the canvas gets stuck on a single frame and freezes up. Scrubbing the playhead back and forth in the Timeline then does nothing in the canvas; there is no motion there. I usually have to quit Final Cut Express and relaunch it to free up the canvas.
What's the deal there?

Thanks for the info, Tom. It's FCE 2.0.3, and yes, the canvas is set to "Fit to Window." All these clips have been in the project for a long time, so there's nothing to render.
I sometimes enlarge the Canvas window to see details better, and that seems to be when the Canvas most often gets stuck and freezes (with the X appearing). Do you suppose FCE can't keep up the frame rate in a larger window?
Anyway, if it is processing something, it never seems to get finished doing it. And when it gets stuck, I can't unstick it without quitting and restarting the program. While the canvas is frozen, no matter where I click on the Canvas' scrubber bar, the video in the Canvas won't jump to the new place. I can also run the playhead up and down the Timeline witn no effect on the Canvas. It remains well and truly jammed. Very annoying.

Superdrive and itunes getting stuck

Hello. I know lots of people have problems with the super drive getting stuck.
My drive gets stuck sometimes when loading music or audiobooks. When it gets stuck on a song, i-tunes freezes up and the drive keeps repeating the same pattern trying to read the disc. It won't eject unless I force quit i-tunes. Sometimes then it will quit running and I can eject the disc, other times I have to restart the computer to get it to eject. Is there anyway to get it to just skip a bad spot instead of getting stuck.
Sometimes this also happens while watching a DVD. Then the DVD player will freeze, and I may have to restart the computer to eject the disc.
This seems to me like a dumb thing that apple should have figured out or thought through. Maybe just a button to let you physically skip the scratch or problem. I know it's probably not that simple.

After a week the MacStore technician called and said that they had replaced the MATSHITADVD-R UJ-857 with a new on, and that the disc that I had given them was still freezeing up the drive at the same spot. He was able to play and copt the disc successfully on a G-5 and the copy of the disc works on my machine. He recommended that i make copies on another machine of any discs that do not work and thenplay the copies on my machine.
I was able tp play the original "faulty" disc on a MacBook store demo and it worked fine (with the same optical drive) I asked if they could just take the working disc drive out of the demo since it apparently works, but the tech said that they could no and could notor would not give me a suitable answer or reason as to why not.

Hot Sync gets stuck at 3 of 13

I have Vista and have done all the downloads, 6.2 and 7.02. It still gets stuck at Date Book. I have changed the conduit to handheld overwrites PC. The calendar gets updated but not the date book on the PC. It used to a few months ago. I do not use email on the phone, only for calls and date book. One thing the log said was PC =0 handheld = 64864. Could there be too much data somewhere that stops the hot sync? Thanks.

Does the sync get stuck or is the data not being updated? If the hotsync hangs-up on 3 of 13, it usually indicates database corruption and DBfixit needs to be run to find the corruption (see the link in the previous post). Do you need to go to task manager and kill the application when it gets stuck?

Also, the first file under Palm OS in my documents is named Alexis0 is that the file I should save to the desktop as well as change the name to the current name of the phone AlexisH.
Do you have these 2 different usernames in Palm desktop? If you do you, make sure you are sync'ing to the username that is listed in hotsync on the phone. Go to hotsync on the phone and look in the upper right cornmer of the screen. This will display the username you are sync'ing to in Palm desktop. Is AlexisH the username you are sync'ing to in Palm desktop? If not, then the changes you make on the device will not be sync'ed to Alexis0
If you want to clean uninstall and start again, use the export function in Palm desktop to backup your data. Here is a procedure below to backup your data;
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.
Another option is to copy the username folder in the Palm folder on the C drive of your PC. With this backup you can only use this folder in the same version you curently have installed.

I found this thread and decided to post my own, as mine sometimes works and sometimes not.
I have a similar problem. It seems like this guy cannot boot his system at all. My problem is that it boots sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.
I try like 10 times in a row when it gets stuck (pushing the turn off button and restart) and it sometimes boots. I followed the beginner guide exactly as it was. I did not miss any step. The only thing I am suspicious about is that I updated my linux kernel using pacman. But I did update all the files as was stated on the website:
"Every time the kernel and initramfs files are updated in /boot, they need to be updated in /boot/efi/EFI/arch. This can be automated either using systemd or using incron (for non-systemd setups)."
The current kernel version is 3.7.10-1. Before kernel update, it was working perfectly fine, (well at least I was able to boot every single time, might have occurred if I had booted 500 times instead 50 times or so) Someone here can help?

One of my systems (with an ASUS motherboard) has sporadic boot problems, too; with mine, it boots about 90% of the time, but when launching the same kernel, it fails about 10% of the time, with no kernel messages appearing after rEFInd loads the kernel. I just live with it, and hit the Reset button when a boot fails.
If you're seeing something similar (inconsistent boot behavior from a single kernel), then please post details of your hardware. If you're seeing different behavior on different kernels, then the problem may be whatever's affecting those who've posted in the thread to which you've linked.
