PSA 2 vs PSA 3 SE

Should I keep 2, or go with the free 3 SE download?

SE 3 has very little [if anything] extra to add over PSA 2 [paid version]. PSA SE 2 was actually a stripped down and slightly enhanced PSA 1. The version numbers are confusing. I had thought that PSA SE 3 would have some of the functionality of PSE 3 Organizer, but it seems not.

    As per your requirement you can select the options..

  • PSA 2.0 to PSA SE 3.0 Catalog Issues

    I edit my images in PS CS but I paid for Photoshop Album 2.0. because I really liked its tagging facilities and calendar organizing. So I spent a lot of time tagging.
    Now PSA 3.0 SE is out and I installed it but after install I noticed it didn't have my old tags. This might be caused by my moving the PSA 2.0 to my G drive to improve drive contention and to make it more noticeable for backups (I believe it was buried in the "Program Files/Adobe/Album" area or something like that...hard to even know you should go there for backups).
    So a couple questions:
    1) Is this tagging and calendaring stuff available in Elements or Photoshop? In others words is going to PSA SE 3.0 the right upgrade path?
    2) How can I get the catalog into PSA SE 3.0? Are the 2.0 and 3.0 catalogs compatible so I can just replace the 3.0 catalog with 2.0? Or is there a hidden import function?
    Thanks for you help. I wish Adobe had at least carried the 2.0 features (including have the catalog location listed in preferences) rather than dumbing it down.

    This is all very confused - bacause Adobe use complicated versioning.
    The last version of PSA was PSA 2.
    There is a giveaway version called PSA SE 3, which is mostly a subset of PSA 2.
    The replacement for PSA 2 was Photoshop Elements 3 [PSE 3 - its Organizer component], which added more functionality and works fine with CS.
    PSE 3 was then replaced by PSE 4 and PSE 4 by PSE 5.
    Forget PSA SE 3.

  • PSA Data Deletion in SAP BW running on Oracle

    Hi,
      I deleted 2 failed requests (10000000 Records) from PSA Tables because of the disk space issue for our BW System.
    RSA1—PSA –DELETE PSA DATA –
    The requests are deleted from the PSA, In BW in can see that there not requests in that particular PSA.
    But Basis/Database team raised an issue that the data has been added to the Database…
    What is this mean and how can I proceed with this

  • PSA request is in yellow status

    Hi
    We got the problem when loading the 2LIS_03_BF data into cube. We have around 4 cubes and 2 ods.
    The data got loaded into all the cubes and ods except on Cube. There was a problem of table space and now it is solved.
    Now the request is in yellow status in PSA. It cube it shows no of records added and transferred but the status is in red color.
    How can i upload the delta data into the cube from PSA when PSA request is in yellow color.
    I feel strange that when the request is in yellow color how come the data is loaded into all other cubes.

    You should be able to load request from PSA to data target using the option available in PSA. When you manage on Datasource, you see all requests. You can select that PSA request and use Scheduler option in that screen to update that particular request.  It will run infopackage as usual. It will execute all the routines if there are any in update rules.
    When you say you have some programs running in process chain, they must be after this failed load right?
    If that is the case, all you need to do is push process chain further. Below are steps to push process chain further if you any step is stuck in yellow or if mually carry out any red step in process chain. In you case, load that failed step manually using scheduler form PSA manage tab and then push PC further using these steps. That will continue PC further and run any programs that run after load.
    Execute in SE38 -> RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
    Fill the following parameters on screen and rest all can be left blank.
    1. LOGID - you will find this when you do monitor of your process chain. Every time you run process chain, unique LOGID is created.
    2. TYPE - If step is ODS activation then TYPE wud be ODSACTIVAT and if it is infopak loading TYPE wud be LOADING and if it is DTP Load TYPE wud be LOAD. In your case it will be LOADING.
    3. VARIANT - In the process chain monitor mode, right click on step which you executed manually -> Display Messages. Go to chain tab and there you will find VARIANT
    4. INSTANCE - In the process chain monitor mode, right click on step which you executed manually -> Display Messages. Go to chain tab and there you will find INSTANCE
    5. STATE - Value wud be G
    After entering above parameters, click execute. It will be done in fraction of second and wont give any popup. Now when you will check process chain monitor, you will see that step 4 is green and next step has started executing.

    Double click on the PSA and CTRLSHIFTF5 --->in PSA properties -->PSA table ..u can find the name here ....
    B)as well as i need to check whether any historical data loads is there for psa for a particular period?
    usually as SAP best practise we will not keep data in PSA for not more than 30 days or at the amx 60 days..you may not find historical data here..however to find the oldest data -->Right Click >Manage>Give some old date ,say 01.01.2005 in the Request newer than ...and Refresh.....
    Other way is to find out in the Data provider i.e in the Cube or DSO ...
    How to filter for a particular data in the psa in bi 7?
    a)Do not map it
    b)in the DTP...Filter it ....i.e from PSA -->CUBE/DSO....
    c)Or write a routine also in start routine ...

  • PSA Table does not exist......

    Hi,
         I have successfully created Datasource, infocube and transformation.....When im tryimg to create and activating the DTP, the activation was not successful....
    The activation fails with the eroor message "Error in PSA" , then "PSA /BIC/B0000567 does not exist" error message is gettng displayed.....
    Please help me in clearing his hurdle....
    My source system s a flat file..which has 9 records i it....

    hii santosh,
    first check whether ur transformations r activated and also check for any errors. can u able to see the records in the PSA after u scheduled. first u have create infopackage before creating the DTP. also check the target system and the source system is matched i mean matched in a correct way.

    Hi,
    In the DataSource maintenance, you can use the function "Technical attributes" to define the following values for DataSources in SAP and BI source systems.
    - Data type for PSA (Persistent Staging Area) table
    - Size category for PSA table
    PSA Table
    For PSA tables, you access the database storage parameter maintenance by choosing Goto ®  Technical Attributes in DataSource maintenance. In dataflow 3.x, you access this setting Extras ® Maintain DB-Storage Parameters in the menu of the transfer rule maintenance.
    You can also assign storage parameters for a PSA table already in the system. However, this has no effect on the existing table. If the system generates a new PSA version (a new PSA table) due to changes to the DataSource, this is created in the data area for the current storage parameters.

  • Records Missed in PSA from R/3 for BI Content Data Sources

    Hi Friends,
                          I'm extracting the data for the data target "0CCA_C11" using the data sources 0CO_OM_CCA_9 & 0CO_OM_CCA_1, but for the data source 0CO_OM_CCA_1, it is showing 25000 records in R/3 while checking in RSA3 transaction, but it's picking only 1500 records upto PSA, since PSA table is two dimension table, all records should be picked into the PSA, but it's not picking,
    what might be the problem in R/3, can anybody tell me the step by step analysis for finding the exact problem?

    PSA - Persistent Staging Area
    IDOC - Intermediate Document
    PSA is a temporary storing of all the data.
    IDOC is used as a intermediate document to trnasfer the data from one system to our BW systems.
    From PSA we can transfer 1600 bytes of data & by using PSA we can edit the data also.we can also rectify errors also through PSA,bcoz PSA is a subfunction of our SAP BW system.
    IDOC we can transfer only 1200 bytes of data & we cant rectify the errors if any,bcoz it is not a function of SAP BW.

    auf die Gefahr hin, dass dies hier schon ein paarmal durchdiskutiert wurde (ja, ich habe gesucht, aber nichts gefunden ; ), würde es micht interessieren ob Adobe PSE 3 als Nachfolger von PSA 2 (nicht Starter Edition!) ansieht (also die Produktlinie PSA auslaufen lässt) oder ob auch beim PSA demnächst mit Neuerungen zu rechnen ist. Die "Album"-Funktionen des PSE 3 würden ja gut in ein "großes" PSA 3 passen - die Bildbearbeitungsfunktionen interessieren mich eher weniger - sonst hätte ich ja gleich PSE oder das richtige Photoshop gekauft.
    Hat jemand mal was läuten gehört? Gibt es offizielle Statements?

    接着上次的，先聊一下PSA table内容的删除。
    首先PSA table的内容都是和request关联的(上次有提到怎么看关联)。
    而且在BW系统脱离request存在的数据抽取是不现实的。
    (这句话怎么理解有些微妙, 比方说ODS的active table, 比方compress过的cube的E-table，request就被压缩掉了..)
    所以一般认为要删除数据，就是要去删除request..
    而事实上删除PSA的requeset, 并不会物理删除PSA table，而只是在RSTSODSPART里标注一个删除记号。 只有当一个partition上的request都被做了标记，才会做物理删除..
    具体内容大家可以参考一下 SAP note 565176..
    (以上这些只适用于oracle DB. 如果是其他的DB,  PSA tables分区方式不一样，又是另外的故事了..)
    然后再介绍几个PSA table的修理和检查工具..
    1. RSAR_PSA_PARTITION_CHECK
    这个是用来检查PSA table的索引和分区的。Note 1012607有颇为详细的介绍.
    2. SAP_PSA_ZEROCORRECT / SAP_PSA_PARTNO_CORRECT
    那是针对 PARTNO  被赋值为 0 的现象.
    如果数据量很大，请使用 ZSAP_PSA_ZEROCORRECT_PARTS
    3. RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY /_MS
    这个用来检查PSA的目录表和PSA自身之间是否有不一致的数据.
    往往是adminitrative table里已经显示被删掉了，但实际物理存储还有的情况。
    如果发生这种情况，之前提到的PSA table的删除就无法正常进行，数据就会冗余，无效地占用硬盘空间..
    4. RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DEFINITION
    检查PSA  table和DDIC之间是否有不一致.
    详细请参考 SAP note 699125.
    以上内容，SAP note 1150724都有介绍..
    个人觉得需要留意的是BW系统使用的是哪个DB, 不同DB对PSA table的分区方式不同，
    于是纠错方法和管理方法也会不同。

    实际中，特别是增量更新的psa，技术状态显示未往上更新，可在往dso加载时，显示传输数据为0,不管加载多少次，都是0,而再执行一次delta的psa，再往上加载时，两次执行的信息包的数据全部加载上去了，我就奇怪了，为什么前一次的就是无法往上更新了，并且我发现，这种情况很多时候是在我往dso加载过程中，出错，然后删掉dso对应的这个请求，再次加载就是0,而这个时候，我将DTP的语义组中的勾全部去掉，再次激活，再传输，又成功加载上了。可有时候这样也不管用，只有加载第二次后，再网上传输，前一次的数据才会连带一起上载
    我还遇到过在psa表中，请求是全部被我删光了，但往上加载时，仍然有数据，这种情况是不是你说的，只给了一个删除标志，而非真正的物理删除，用的是sql server 2005,这种情况下，是不是要借助RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY /_MS ？
    还有，我在通过psa往信息对象加载主数据时，比如0PRICE_LIST(价格清单类型),它只包含文本，TEXTS 0PRICE_LIST(价格清单类型 (文本))，我把数据从psa加载到它时，每次都有一个请求，对于主数据，每天都会抽取，也就生成了很多个请求，请问一下，加载到TEXTS 0PRICE_LIST的请求的数据，是否只保存到了table /BI0/TPRICE_LIST，就如传输到DSO的请求，并且使用关键值覆盖那样，虽然传输了多个请求，但只更新新的数据到数据表，或者，TEXTS 0PRICE_LIST(价格清单类型 (文本))本身就对应一个数据表，然后每次有请求，就把数据扔里面，然后再去更新/BI0/TPRICE_LIST，这张假设，主要是想到每次有新数据更新，都需要激活，不然取到的数据仍然是之前的。 并且，右键点击TEXTS 0PRICE_LIST(价格清单类型 (文本))，选择管理，有几百个请求，有没有什么方法可以一次性全部删掉啊？或者删掉30天之前的，处理链可以删掉30天之前加载的信息包，但这个请求貌似删不掉。

    Pls Goto Datasource Tab in RSA1 - You can see PSA on the top click that you will have the PSA requests there click on it and delete.

    Thanks for the info provided.
    So according to the info provided the Deleting the request from the PSA  marks as ‘To be Deleted’
    ‘When the last of all requests in one partition gets deleted,’ what do you mean by this.
    There are 2 requests in our PSA,I deleted 2 of them and in BW when I go to PSA there I don’t find any requests available in PSA.
    But our basis team complained that some data has been added to data base

  • 0SD_C03 cube contains data that does not exist  in PSA

    Hi,
    We have a problem with data difference in cube and PSA. Firstly we deleted PSA extactly then extracted data from r3 to PSA. PSA has 2 records now. Then we extracted data to cube (0SD_C03) via DTP (using 2LIS_13_VDITM transformation rules). However, the cube contains approximately 300 000 data. Cube contains many records that does not exist in PSA.
    Where these data come from?

    In your PSA overview, did you change the date that limits the PSA packages showing?
    (middle top of screen) and click refresh?
    it might be that you only have deleted the PSA from a certain date onwards.

    Hi Experts,
    Could you please help me is there any table which will have PSA & data target (Cube or ODS) details.
    I know the table which will have data target manage screen details and other table wil give the details like data loaded into till PSA.
    But i want to know any SAP table will have link between PSA & data target.
    I want to know if the request is loaded till PSA or it is loaded into data target.
    Any table will give details like PSA request no, if target is there then some kind of flag like....
    Please let me know if any one know the table which will have PSA as well as Data target details.
