PSA deletion -clarification regarding QM status

Hi Guru's
We r on BI 7.0 SP13. We are loading HR data with full loads via infopackages to PSA and subsequently from PSA to infocubes via DTP. We have configured a process chain to delete the PSA requests which are 1 day old in order to make sure that we do  not have duplicate records uploaded via DTP from PSA to infocube.
The setting on the PSA deletion is to delete requests that are 1 day old and only sucessfully booked requests/updated in data targets. If we maintain this setting system is not deleting the PSA requests which are more than i day old. but if i remove the checkbox for "only successfully booked requests" system deletes all requests which are more than 1 day old.
When i checked the status of the requests, it has a "green" color for technical status and the radio button " back to technical status" is selected. My question is Does the system check if these PSA requests are having QM status is green before deleting them if we select "only sucessfully booked requests"? if yes how to set the QM status as green automatically in the requests that are only loaded to PSA?
i also verified  the table RSREQDONE in order to check if these PSA requests are having "QM status fields" populated. only technical status were green for these and the QM status fields were not populated.
I want to get a clarification whether these requests that load to" PSA only" are supposed to have a QM status or they are supposed to have only the technical status? if they are suppose to have a QM status , then how to set it automatically ?
thanks

Hi Anil,
<i>Full Upload Request</i> does not concern any DELTAs whatsoever. Just populate the SETUP Tables in R/3, give parameters (if any) and load, thats it. Thats why you dont need to switch previous request to RED because a FULL Request does not care on the status of the last update.
<b>DELTA Update Request</b> is different. The system needs to know if the last DELTA extraction was a failure or success. It needs this info so that the system will know if it will request for a new fresh batch of updates (<b>DELTAS/Changes</b>) or <b>RESEND</b> <i>previous batch</i> of updates (<b>DELTAS/CHANGES</b>) in case the previous DELTA Update is a <b>failure</b>...
Hope I have helped. If i did, please grant points...

  • Need clarification regarding Work status rule

    Hi All,
I have a work state "Submitted" which is controlled by "owner".
My work status is driven by following dimensions in the application:
    u2022Entity  - Owner dimension
    u2022Category
    u2022Time
Entity hierarchy is as follows : A
                                                      |____B
                                                      |____C
Now considering that user is owner of member "A", I set the work status to "Submitted". (Note: B and C does not have any owner)
It gives error "controlled by rule has been violated".
On the other side, one of the document tells states that "If the user is acting as an owner and the selected member has no parent, the user also acts as a manager (top hierarchy), they can select a work status controlled by "Owner", "Manager" or "Both"".
Going by this rule, in the scenario which i have explained above, it should set the work status as "submitted". But it is throwing error.
Kindly clarify if my understanding is wrong.

    Hi,
The problem is arising because as per the setup, only the owner can change the work state to submitted. However, there are no owners for the child members.
You can try changing the setting to manager. If you login as owner of A, then you will be able to change the work state of A (since you are your own manager because A is the top node) and you will be able to change B and C also (since you are the manager).
Alternatively, you need to maintain the same user as the owner of B and C.
You have rightly indicated the statement "If the user is acting as an owner and the selected member has no parent, the user also acts as a manager (top hierarchy), they can select a work status controlled by "Owner", "Manager" or "Both"".
However, if you take a look at this statement, this is valid if the setting is manager. But in your case, the setting is owner. And there are no owners of the children.
    Hope this helps.

  • PSA deletion in BI 7

    Dear All,
Somebody has implemented PSA deletion in BI 7 in process chains but I see that the PSA is not getting cleaned up. Even though the step is green, but the PSA deletion is not happening. What are the possible reasons for this and what should be done ?
Also, if I have the PSA tables name with me, how can I know that these PSA tables are for which InfoProviders ? That is, I need the InfoProvider's name from the corresponding PSA table name..
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
Have you checked all the requests, may some are in yellow staus.
Then try to make it red and delete it manually.
If it does'nt works then go to SE37 >> to execute the function module RSBM_GUI_CHANGE_USTATE >> From the next screen, for I_REQUID enter that request ID and execute. >> From the next screen, select 'Status Erroneous' radiobutton and continue.
This Function Module, change the status of request from Green / Yellow to RED.
Once it is RED, you can manually delete that request.

  • GPP Delete policy not working on Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS when deleting shared printers with status access denied.

    Hi!
I Have one AD Security group for each shared printer, I have one GPP that map the printer if the user is in the security group that belong to the printer. And one GPP to delete the printer if the user is NOT member of the security group. The security group
is also applied in “Security” tab on the printsrv with PRINT rights  and “everyone” is removed. This works 100 % on Windows 7 clients and Windows 2003 Terminal Servers. But on Windows 2008 R2 RDS this dont work. The Delete Policy will not delete the shared
printer. No warning in any logs, and the gpresult shows that the gpo setting applyed sucessfully. The only way I can make the Delete policy work is if i give the user print rights on the printer on the printsrv. Looks like for the policy to work on 2008
R2 the user must have print rights on the printer object on the printserver. The GPP Delete Policy will not delete printers that have status : access denied. Anyone else had this problem?

    Hi,
Based on your description, it seems that we need to give users appropriate permissions, for the error
Access is denied is more or less related to permissions.
However, we can avoid deploying the GPP printer delete policy. As far as I know, we can use Item-Lvel Targeting of GPP to push the shared printers
to the targeted users or groups.
Regarding ILT, the following articles can be referred to for more information.

  • H how to find  if the psa table is included in psa deletion process chain

    Hi all
    can anybody tell me .
I have a psa table it's technical name is /BIC/B*
h how to find  the  above psa table is included in psa deletion process chain or not
    please help me

    Hi
Ope the PC in RSPC1 -->go to planning view of process chain
in left side you will find different types of process types.
under other BW process types folder -->you will find process type "Delete request from PSA"
drag this into your process chain planning view and customize it based on your requirements.
check the below article for step by step procedure

  • /BIC/ namespace not modifiable, can't create PSA delete variant in process

    Hello,
When I attempt to create a PSA delete process in a process chain, I get an error message as such:
Namespace '/BIC/' must be set to 'changeable' (transaction SE06)
    Message no. R7063
I have had Basis dot his for me before and it worked, but it takes a lot of change menagement to do this.  I have asked Basis to leave it modifiable in SE06, but they will not.  Is that the only way to be able to create PSA process variants is to have Basis use SE06?  I looked in Object Changeability, but nothing stuck out.  I should not have to have Basis do this task every time.  Please let me know if there is a better way.
    Thank you.
    Brent

    Hi Brent
I believe /BIC/ namespace should remain modifiable where you are creating PSA deletion process.
You can check if that is the case in your system.
Check in TRNSPACE table with namespace /BIC/  .. changagle flag should be X. I think it should be in your production also

  • PSA deletion

    Hi Expert,
I have an issue with PSA deletion. There is one PSA table which is already included in the PSA deletion chain. we have checked this PSA deletion step and it is working fine. when i go to manage option of data source , I find only seven requests  as per my expectation.
Whereas Early watch report says this PSA has consumed 400 GB. This figure is constant from last one year.I have checked with Basis guy and they said they cannot do repartitioning.
Only option I have to truncate this table at OS level.
Does anyone know any other option which can be used to free this big chunk of DB space?

    Hello Dhiraj
    things I would do here.
    1. Consistency check of PSA via RSRV
    2. Check the PSA table name from Manage screen and then try to see what is the  exact amount of space it is taking from DB02.
    3. If you are on oracle you can check what is the space actually required versus what is the space this table is taking. You  can get this information from early watch report ( based on your ST-PI version) or you can run a script to check that.
If you find actual space required is much less than what it is consuming right now you can go for re-organization.
Please note single table reorganization is possible via brconnect and that can be done online
    4. If nothing works last option is to truncate the table ( based on your business requirement obviously ). You or your Basis team member can do it even from SE14. I do not find any need to waste 400 GB of space for one PSA.

  • PSA Deletion through Process Chain

    Hi Experts,
Currently I am working on the BW3.5 version. I would like to delete the old PSA req through Process Chain. I need some clarification. Please provide me your suggestions.  Thanks in advance.
1)In SAP-BW 3.5 version, there is only one process type u2018Deleting Requests from the PSAu2019 is available to do this activity. This process type can delete the requests from the PSA only or Will it delete PSA and Change Log tables!!!!! In the SDN threads, some people said it delete the PSA requests only and some said  it delete the PSA requests as well as Change Log.
2)Currently we are having six process chain and each has master & transaction data load(Data load through PSA).
Similarly I am planning to create six PSA deletion process chain which includes master & transaction data deletion. Here I am got little complication on finding Object Name(PSA Table Name). Please refer the screen shot.Is there any short cut to find full list of Object Name(PSA Table) which is currently available in the Process chain every day load.
3)On the request selection, i prefer "Only sucessfully booked/updated req.". I did not select"Only those req with errors, that are not booked in a data target". Please share your view on this selection preference.

    Thanks,
    RR

    Hi Murali,
Thanks for the response. I do understand about the identifying the data source & PSA retention period(days). Let me elaborate my question little more. Thanks.
1)In SAP-BW 3.5 version, there is only one process type u2018Deleting Requests from the PSAu2019 is available to do this activity. This process type can delete the requests from the PSA only or Will it delete PSA and Change Log tables!!!!! In the SDN threads, some people said it delete the PSA requests only and some said it delete the PSA requests as well as Change Log.If i am not mistaken, In BW 3.5 PSA deletion will leads through Change Log also.Am i right?
2)Currently we are having six process chain and each has master & transaction data load(Data load through PSA).
Similarly I am planning to create six PSA deletion process chain which includes master & transaction data deletion. Here I am got little complication on finding Object Name(PSA Table Name). Please refer the screen shot.Is there any short cut to find full list of Object Name(PSA Table) which is currently available in the Process chain every day load.In the very day process chain, we are having many stages in master & transaction load. So I can go through info pkg level and find the data source, then i can identify the PSA table name. But is there any other simplest way to find the PSA table name.
    http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/3963/psa1.jpg
3)On the request selection, i prefer "Only sucessfully booked/updated req.". I did not select"Only those req with errors, that are not booked in a data target". Please share your view on this selection preference. May i know that which option is optimal on normal business process. If i did not select both options, then will that delete all the request in PSA!!!
    Thanks.
    RR.

  • Process Chans:PSA Deletion

    Hello Experts,
We are using a number of process chains (for transactional data).
Is it better to have a seperate process chain which performs the PSA deletion for all PSA tables? or is it better to include PSA deletion node seperately in respective process chains?
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    LM.

    Hi,
Its like PSA (persistent Storage area) since its a mandatory in Bi 7.0  so its loade too frequently, as a matter of fact it becomes too clumsy over the time, as a result it takes a whole lot of time to get deleted ,
including the deletion step in a Process chain will expand the running time to indefinite so its better to keep it as a seperate chain.
Hope this will suffice your concern

  • PSA deletion in delta

Rohit pls let me know on this.
If I delete the PSA in delta load on ODS will it be any impact. Will the load get failed If I delete the delta PSA(ODS).
Message was edited by: Tamkris Taj

    Hi Tamkris,
Is it like only rohit needs to update on this or shall i go forward?
Once you have loaded the ODS, the PSA deletion should not create any problems. only incase you want to reconstruct some request, then it will be not possible as the records will not be available in PSA.

  • PSA Deletion - Customisation

    Hi All,
I'm working in a environment where PSA deletion is not done for years! so, using Process Chains for individual PSAs is out of question. I'm developing a tool to do this.
Also, there is a requirement to do the PSA and change log requests seeprately based on diff selection criteria. As you know, Changelog and PSA share same table for storage and the SAP provided PSA deletion (RSPSADEL1) don't differenciate b/w  Changelog/PSA requests. The change log requests starts with ODSR* and PSA requests with REQU*.
I planning to customize the RSPSADEL1 program to delete these requests seperately based on different sel criteria. Eg: I want to keep 1 yr of change log in few cases while need only 1 month of PSA!
Anyone done similar thing before? any hints/tips/warnings are welcome!
    Thanks & regards,
    Sree

    Hello Sree
Did you already find a solution for this issue? I am working on the similar scenario where I will be keeping or deleting the data based on the application component.
I am seeing the function module RSATREE_PSA_DELETE_BATCH which in turn uses the program RSPSADEL1.
I will be able to link the details to application component, just wanted to confirm how to go about defining number of days to keep data in the PSA. I guess it is maintained in the standard table RSPSADEL only, kindly confirm...

  • Problem with PSA deletion

    Hi All,
My requirement is to delete all PSA requests everyday before daily loads. For this i have created a PC with PSA deletion variant with the followng settings - data-source = 0CO_PC_02, source system = *, older than = 0 days, all requests (red and green). When the variant is run no requests are deleted, even if there are requests meeting the above conditions. Logs of the variant do not show any requests.  When i delete the requests manually from the Data-Source overview screen the requests are deleted but i can still see the request in the PSA table (se16). What could be the reason. The scenario works fine for other data-sources and variants with identical settings. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Saurabh Diwakar

    Hi,
Please specify only these three things nothing else . This should do the job for you .
    Data Source name
exact Name of the Source System with client Name
    In older than put 0.

  • CUCM 8.6.2 LDAP User Delete Pending LDAP Sync Status Inactive

    BE6K ver 8.6.2
Client has a user who recently got married.  They changed her account information in Active Directtory to reflect her new last name. At that point CUCM shows her as
    Delete Pending
    LDAP Sync Status Inactive
    CUC shows
    LDAP User has been deleted.
The user still exists in both CUC and CUCM and is actively takign and receiving calls.  User has VM access.
Shorrt of deleting the user in AD and recreating her, is there a way to force this to re-sync?
    Thanks
    Matt

Then that's expected to happen, for all purposes to CUCM/CUC eyes, msmith no longer exists and will be deleted, and a new user mjones now will be imported.
Depending on when the change was done and when CUCM detected this, it might take up to 48 hours maximum to delete the user
You'll need to associate everything to the new user, and also add that new user into CUC.
Or switch back her userID to the old one, and just change the surname for directory purposes.
