PSA Deletion Issue from the Process Chain

Hi,
I am facing problem in PSA Deletion from the chain. Scenario and issue as follow:
Scenario:
I have a PSA deletion Chain which got trigger daily. Which contains the many "Deletion of Requests from PSA" step. Datasources in the steps are from 3 different source system. Previously all are working fine.  I am using 7.1 version.
Issue:
1. All PSA Deletion step working fine except the BW source system Datasources.
2. Few of the Datasources from BW source system are working fine(i.e, deleting the requests as per the condition given in the step.) and few are not(i.e, it does not pick up any request for deletion, but it have to delete some requests as per the conditions.).
All the PSA deletion steps are  turns to green when chain executed.Few of them is not working from august and few are from the october(i.e, Not any specific date)
Please suggest me the solution for above issue.
Thanks in Advance.
Himanshu.

Hi ,
Goto display/maintain  variant of the PSA deletion step and compare conditions of  the Infopackages which delete data successfully with those which do not .
The condition given for the info-package whose data is not deleted from PSA , is not being satisfied that might be the reason the request is not deleted from the infopackage.

  • Issue with the process chain?

    Hi All,
I have a process chain triggerred by an event.I had this transported into Q box. After moving it to Q i did click on acativate and schedule icon. When i triggered the event in Sm64.The process chain triggerred successfully. The next day when i tried to trigger the event ,the process did nothing, its only after i actiavted the process chain and triggrred the event the process.
I know the process chain should be good after ictivated once when  moved into a new system. Can anybody tell me how to resolve my issue of activating the PC whenever i wnat to trigger it.What i am i missing here?
    Please advice,urgent

I think Geo answered what you want and what I wanted to tell.
    Thanks Geo
    Ther are two  basic things
--> In order that your PC responds to your "Event & Parameter", maintain the same and PC <b>should be in scheduled status</b>
--> the periodic check box <b>schedules again</b> once the current run completes. i.e makes ready the PC for the next run whenever the next "event and parameter" gets triggered by any means ( you no need to activate and schedule again)
Sorry If my answer confused you..Hope everything is clear now...!

  • Deleting process type from a Process Chain

    Hi All,
We had a scenario wherin we needed to add some process types to an existing process chain. But after transporting it to quality  we realized that we have added our process types to the wrong process chain. Now We have deleted our process types from the process chain and transported that chain after deleting the process types from the chain. But the types we have added are not getting deleted in Quality.Could someone help me with this...
    Regards,
    Shravani

    Hi,
the process types that you have created in Development needs to be deleted in Developmet. Before deleting it will ask for a request. create a new request and transport that request to the Quality. Now you will find the Process types deleted in Quality.
Now get back to the Development  system create the necesseary changes (add or remove the Process types or develop a new one) now transport the request to the Quality .
hope this will solve your problem

  • How to identify the info package deleted by someone in process chain?

    Hi all,
I can see a couple of info packages were deleted in the production system and it was removed from the process chain too!!
how to identify who has deleted the info package in the production system:?
    Thanks

Can you is there any transport available with the Infopackage deletion activity?
in SE01 you can check in production system and check if your IPAK is stored in it or not..? IF yes then you can check the user.
Also you can track is there any deletion transport has come from D to P or Q to P? Can you check whether the IPAK is available in D and Q?
Also you can check the process chain recent modified by in RSPC and check if there is any user details were captured?
OR you can also look at in transaction SLG1. Check for the logs..
    Hope this helps,

  • Unable to start the process chain

    Hi ,
I am trying to start a process chain manually , but it gives me a message saying process has no predecesssor ?
what should be done to start the chain?

Did you copy processes from another chain? Sometimes when this happens, you end up copying all the processes.
First, remove the process chain from scheduling. In RSPC, at the top, select Process Chain --> Remove from Schedule. This will delete all the batch jobs for the process chain.
Next, move all the processes in the process chain with your mouse. Sometimes the maintenance will put one process on top of another so you cannot see them all. By moving all the processes, you may find the "unattached" process so you can remove it from the process chain.
    Hope it helps..

  • Regarding "Delete Index" process in the process chain.

    Hi Gurus
In the process chain, I have Delete Index -> Load Info pacakge -> Create Index process in the above order.
I am loading few records, so no need to delete indexes everytime. Can i remove the "Delete Index" process from the Chain without deleting the Create Index process. Or do I have to delete both.
Could you please clarify my doubt if possible in detail.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    aarthi

With the numbers you provided, you probably don't need to have the steps.  With Oracle (not sure about all the other DB flavors) there are some other considerations:
Not having the indexes when loading the data can improve the load time since the bitmap indexes are not very efficient with respect to inserts/updates. The more dimensions you have, the more indexes there will be and the more noticable the impact of having the indexes present when loading.
The drop index process only drops the F fact table indexes.  If you compress your cubes regularly so that you don't have many uncompressed requests, the index rebuild time will remain small, but if you have many uncompressed requests in your cube, the index rebuild time can begin to exceed whatever time you might save on the load with indexes deleted.
With bitmap indexes present, you can also occasionally receive a ORA-0600 deadlock error during the load process, and that can be prevented by dropping the indexes before loading or chose the load option packet by packet so that two packets are not trying to update the same index block at the same time.
Another concern in shops where reporting on the cube might occur during the load process - if you drop indexes prior to a load, any one trying to run a query on teh cube could have poor query performance since all the indexes will be missing onthe F fact table, this agina becomes more apparent the more data you have in the uncompressed fact table.
So it really comes down to your environment, but certainly drop the indexes any time you have large loads.

  • Issue realted to the process chain.

    dear sir,
i hope all are doing great, this is the message regarding the issue with process chain in sap-bw(from application server)
i'm trying to load data from flat file to ods and infocube parallely, i've created the infocube and ods object and i've also created the respective infopackages and copied the name of infopackages.
i've created the process chain and in monitoring i.e. rspcm when i'm adding the process chain the status in not green its a yellow triangle.
apart from that i'm getting an error message saying that- objects have been locked by the sapuser.
please do help me to get rid of this issue.
please do send me the related documents regarding the process chains, that would help me to understand the concept.
    thank you.

  • Needs to delete one Master Data from main process chain in development syst

    Hi All,
Can any one pls suggest how we can delete the master data load from main process chain in development system.
In the main process chain nearly i am having 52 master data loads in that i required to delete one master data.
    Thnanks in Advance.
    karuna.

    Hi...
    1) go to RSPC1
    2) Give the technical name of the process chain
    3) in the top where we write tcode....there write COPY..and press enter...
    4) then remove the start process and the desired master data loads..
    5) create a new start process with a new variant..if you want to put ant condition you can put it there...
    6) then link the start process with the first process..
    7) activate your process chain...and schedule it as per your require...you can make it immediate run or can scedule it for a particular time...
Or if you don't want to create anew process chain...then go to the design view of the PC and remove the desired load and again activate it...
    Hope this helps you...

  • How to move the process chain from Unassigned node to a new node in 3.5?

    Hi all,
I have created a new process chain in the development and it is falling under the Unassigned nodes. I want to move that process chain to an another node. but i am unable to do that
Can anyone let me know how to move the process chain from unassigned node. I have drag and dropped but still the same in BW 3.5 ?
    Thanks
    Poooja

    Hello,
    Try this....
Double click on your process chain. Via the menu select:
Process chain > Attributes > Display components
    Select F4 (possible entries)
At the bottom of the window you will find a create icon
    to make your own component.
After you created it, assign it to your process chain.
Don't forget to save the process chain.

  • Why the process chain always run twice when triggered from R3?

I run a program from R3 by calling the remote function 'RSSM_EVENT_RAISE' on BW to trigger an event and in turn the event on BW bring up the running of a process chain.  But whenever I run the program on R3 to bring up the running of the process chain, I find the process chain always run twice at the same time.  Does anybody knows the answer?
And also I would like to know the functionalities of the two picture buttons "Activate" and "Activate and Schedule" in process chain.  In which case the "Activate" button should be used and in which case, the "Activate and Schedule" button should be used?   If we click the Start variant of a process chain, then click "Change Selections" button which bring up the window "Start Time" where the buttons "Immediate", "Date/Time", "After job", and "After event" are listed at the top.  If we modify at any of the above buttons, then after save this modification, we will have to click "Activate and Schedule" button to make it work, right?
Thanks a lot and everyone's idea is greatly appreciated!

Kevin, make sure there is only one job scehduled for the Start Process of your Process Chain.  If you bring up the Process Chain (not the log view), right click on the Start Process and select "Displaying Scheduled Job(s)...".  There should only be one scheduled job with name BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER.  If there is more than one, then when triggered, it would execute more than once at the same time.  If there is only one job, then maybe your R/3 program is triggering the event more than once?
As far as the Start conditions for the Start Process, it works off the same principals as a scheduled job.  These start conditions determine when or how the Process Chain is to be executed.  You also have control over frequency.  These start conditions determine the scheduling of the Start Process of your Process Chain.
When you schedule a Process Chain, a separate scheduled job is created for "each" process in the Chain.  BW controls the triggering of these jobs based upon how the processes in the Chain are linked.  All the jobs associated with Process Chains have strict naming conventions and all begin with BI_PROCESS_...  If you use SM37 to view all jobs that begin with BI_PROCESS_ you will find alot of scheduled jobs associated with your process chains.  Each job represents one of the processes within your process chains.
    Does this help?
Another tip might be to trigger the event manually in BW (use tx SM64).  If the process chain executes twice again, then maybe there is a separate scheduled job in BW that triggers the process chain that is triggered by the same event as the start process of the process chain.

  • Where to check the user id that who deleted the process chain

    Dear Gurus,
If the process chain is deleted accidentally, can we check the user id used to delete. Where can we see the logs/information about that.
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
When you delete something in BW/BI, a background job is assigned to the requested task.
To check the same use Tcode SM37, provide details: Job name as BI_DEL*, user name as *, Job status as Finished, and the date or date range in which the process chaing was deleted. Then execute the request.
It will show you all the jobs which were used to delete something in the BW/BI.
Check the log of the request and you will get the required information.
    Cheers...

  • How to reuse the process chain which has been deleted?

    hi
    guys
how to reuse the process chain which has been deleted?
    your regards
    suresh

if you want to "recover" the deleted process chain, try to check DEV / QAS / PRD. Maybe there is a copy still available
Or check the following tables in SE11: RSPCCHAIN / RSPCCHAINATTR
    Good luck !

  • Error while designing the Process Chains

    Hi All,
I have a issue on Process Chains.
In my Project there are 2 ODS.
ODS 1 : Status Header ODS (ZODS)
    ODS 2 : Service Order Header. (0CRM_PROH)
In CRM, if any Service Order is created, it is available in delta Queue(RSA7) immediately.
While loading the data to ODS 2(Service Order),it is checking the data from status ODS 1(Status ODS)
For Example, I am loading the data of service Order 80001 to ODS 2(0CRM_PROH). Before loading to ODS 2, i am checking whether this service Order Number(80001) is available in ODS 1.
If the service Order 80001 is there in ODS 1, it will update the data to ODS 2.
If the service order 80001 is not there in ODS 1, it will not Update the data to ODS 2.
    Problem i am facing :
    1. First i am loading the data to ODS 1 (Status ODS). Early Morning 2.30AM and it completes the data load at 2.40AM. And document posting is happening on 2.37AM and ODS 1 doesnt pull the data of document posted.
    2. Once the ODS 1 is completed, by 2.41AM, the data loading will happen for ODS 2 (Service Order Header). It brings all the data including the document posted on 2.37AM.
3.While loading all the data is available, and while loading to ODS 2, it is checking the status ODS. And it is checking for the document posted on 2.37AM and this document is not there in Status ODS 1 and the data(posted on 2.37AM) will not update in ODS 2.
Because of this, some records are missing in ODS 2. And while loading, we cant stop the document posting also.
How can i achieve this using the process Chain.
Design i have tried in Process Chain :
    1. Start Variant.
    2. Load Infopackage to PSA only for ODS 2.
    3. Load Infopackage to PSA and activate ODS for ODS 1 (Status ODS)
    4. Read PSA (of ODS 2) to Load data to ODS 2.
    5. Activate the ODS.
I tried, but i got a error message while designing the process Chains.
No type "Activate DataStore Object Data" process can be in front of process "Read PSA and Update Data Target" variable PSA_SERVICE_ORDER in the chain
Pls suggest how to recify this according to my design.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ram.

    Hi,
    You can try this..
      .......................................... Start  ...................................................
Load data to PSA (ODS 2) ..................................... Load data to PSA (ODS 1)
    ..................................................................................Load data to ODS 1
    ...................................................................................Activate ODS 1
      ........................................... AND ..........................................................
      ........................................ Load data to ODS 2 .............................................
       .......................................... Activate ODS 2 ...........................................

  • Error while executing the Process chain

    Hi Friends,
The process chain that I scheduled is getting failed at the Infopackage loading stage.
On checking the diplay message, I found the following log:
Cannot stage requested data for datasource
    Error in source system
I activated the datasource in source system, then replicated the same and tried to load data.
But the issue remains the same.
I checked in RSA7. The status corresponding to this datasource is in yellow status.
Can I delete this entry and try again?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    /people/mona.kapur/blog/2008/01/14/process-chain-errors
    Deadlock
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2e/44934257a5c86ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    Dead Locks
    2. Error in unit conversion
    Units of measure
    3.Error 1 in update
When Src file is already open or not accessible.
    4.Processing no data
theres no data selected after extraction
    5.Caller 70 missing
"• This error normally occurs whenever BW encounters error and is not able to classify them. There could be multiple reasons for the same
    1) Whenever we are loading the Master Data for the first time, it creates SID’s. If system is unable to create SIDs for the records in the Data packet, we can get this error message.
    2) If the Indexes of the cube are not deleted, then it may happen that the system may give the caller 70 error.
3)Whenever we are trying to load the Transactional data which has master data as one of the Characteristics and the value does not exist in Master Data table we get this error. System can have difficultly in creating SIDs for the Master Data and also load the transactional data.
    4) If ODS activation is taking place and at the same time there is another ODS activation running parallel then in that case it may happen that the system may classify the error as caller 70. As there were no processes free for that ODS Activation.
    5) It also occurs whenever there is a Read/Write occurring in the Active Data Table of ODS. For example if activation is happening for an ODS and at the same time the data loading is also taking place to the same ODS, then system may classify the error as caller 70.
    6) It is a system error which can be seen under
the “Status” tab in the Job Over View.
    solution:
"• If the Master Data is getting loaded for the first time then in that case we can reduce the Data Package size and load the Info Package. Processing sometimes is based on the size of Data Package. Hence we can reduce the data package size and then reload the data again. We can also try to split the data load into different data loads
    • If the error occurs in the cube load then we can try to delete the indexes of the cube and then reload the data again.
    • If we are trying to load the Transactional and Master Data together and this error occurs then we can reduce the size of the Data Package and try reloading, as system may be finding it difficult to create SID’s and load data at the same time. Or we can load the Master Data first and then load Tranactional Data
    • If the error is happening while ODS activation cause of no processes free, or available for processing the ODS activation, then we can define processes in the T Code RSCUSTA2.
    • If error is occurring due to Read/Write in ODS then we need to make changes in the schedule time of the data loading.
    • Once we are sure that the data has not been extracted completely, we can then go ahead and delete the red request from the manage tab in the InfoProvider. Re-trigger the InfoPackage again.
    • Monitor the load for successful completion, and complete the further loads if any in the Process Chain.
    6.Idoc not processed completely.
Here the request remains yellow (in process) and with the same details (as seen in the details tab of the monitor) for an abnormally long time. Many-a-times, the port for communication is not open and re-starting the load helps. For long running jobs, it may not be advisable to restart the extraction
Contact the BASIS administrator to push the IDOC.
