PSA Deletion Process in Process Chains Transport Question

BI Guru's
I am working on investigating a method of deleting PSA Requests this will be a stand alone process so no loads will be done in this process chain.  My question I cannot use the Object Type of InfoPackage  or DTP since these objects wont be in the Process Chain leaving me PSA Table option but since I will be developing this in Dev and transporting through environment into prod how will this be handled since PSA tables change from system to system?  Does the system automatically translate it for me or will the value stay the same?

Hi Alex,
System will automatically identifies the table in quality and then in Production system. You do not have to worry. I had same question and I tested it with transporting the Process chain from developement to quality. In quality system automatically identified the table corresponding to data target/Master data.

    Hi all
    can anybody tell me .
I have a psa table it's technical name is /BIC/B*
h how to find  the  above psa table is included in psa deletion process chain or not
    please help me

    Hi
Ope the PC in RSPC1 -->go to planning view of process chain
in left side you will find different types of process types.
under other BW process types folder -->you will find process type "Delete request from PSA"
drag this into your process chain planning view and customize it based on your requirements.
check the below article for step by step procedure

  • How to delete requests in PSA using Process chains

    Hi All,
Can anyone explain me how to delete all the requests in PSA using Process chains.
    This is what I did...
    1. use Process type 'Deletion of Requests from PSA'
    2. Settings:
    Object Type - PSA table
    Object Name - <Datasource name>
Older than - 0 (Zero) days
These settings doesn't work. Can you please let me know exact settings to use for deleting all the requests in PSA of a datasource.

    Hello Praveen,
That's what I thought too. But if I use '1' one day, what if I need to run it twice same day? So this doen't work for my requirement.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • How to delete Process Chains

    Hi Experts,
I created Process chain for Deliveries in D sys and transported to P sys. Here we have six source systems so  first we created 6 process chains for each  source systems. Later we decide to add all those variants in one Process chain and we deleted individual process chain and transported to P sys.
So Process chains are deleted in D system and P system but changes are not effected in P system. Process Chains are not invisible both D & P systems.
But when we run the Deliveries Process chain, deleted Process chains are also running. And getting Error due to both are scheduled at same time. Because deleted Process chains are still showing in where used list....
Can any one help me guys!!!!
    Thank you,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
Can you please let us know what type of scheduling option you have used in the start variant.
Also please have a check if the start variant in all the chains are the same?
As per my understanding unless the start variant is triggered the chains will not get scheduled.
Also there is a bug in Bi7.0, that once the process chain transport has been completed to other environemt its starts getting executed if the start variant hold tha option as Direct scheduling - > Immediate.

  • Problem with a process chain transport

    Hi all,
I have a problem with a process chain transport, I transport it but when I see the changes in testing environment I don’t see it, I did it four times but nothing happen and I don’t have errors.
Can anybody tell me how to transport a process chain.
    Thanks.

    Hi Federico,
When you tranport Process Chains, initially chains will be available under "Not Asigned" node in RSPC Transaction. The transported chains wont be get highlighted automatically. Manually need to open the chain in update mode and activate it on Quality.
Hope it will help you to resolve the problem.

  • Process Chains transport query

    Hi Experts,
When we transport a process chain  from rsa1, does not all its varients get transported along with it  , do we need to collect them separately,
    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nitya

    Hi Nitya,
You will have to collect each & every process in the process chain. Better way to collect all processes in PC is:
goto RSPC & open your PC--> From the Menu Process Chain --> Transport.
Now all the dependent objects will be opened. Display it as List > Now select all the required Variants like start variant, and any other variants like AND, OR, DSO activation etc & right click only on the required objects> Transport all below.
    Hope it helps!

    Hi,
Usually its totally in tractable to find a deleted chain :
But you can try out with the following options:
    1> T-code SLG2 .
2> T-code SLG1 - find out who was logged on to the system on that particular client at that time.
3> Try out the following tables in se16 :
RSPCLOGS           --- Application Logs for the Process Chains
RSPCLOGCHAIN    --- Cross-Table Log ID / Chain ID
RSPCCOMMANDLOG --- System Command Execution Logs (Process Chains) .
    Hope it will be expedite.

  • How to delete Process Chain Variant

    Hi  all~
I'd like to delete Process Chain Variant .
But I can't find delete menu from RSPC.
    It could be easy, but... I can't find it~ ^^;;
    Thank you in advance~ ^^;;

    Hello,
    1. Select the necessary process type from the menu.
    2. Type in the technical name of the variant and click change button.
    3. When maintenance screen is opened you can delete the variant by clicking delete button.
    or
chk the tables for your variants :
    RSPCVARIANTATTR
    RSPCVARIANT
    RSPCVARIANTT
    RSPCTRIGGER
Or you can go to maintain variant for any existing variant and choose your variant form the list, delete it.

  • Delete PSA Through Process Chain

    Hi,
I am working in NW04s. I have few questions related to the subject line. Few are for knowledge enhancement and other are task oriented.
Background:  InfoPackages are created to load data (master and transaction, both full & delta) for InfoObjects and DOS/Cubes. All the 4 options (PSA and then InfoObject, PSA and infoobject in parallel, only InfoObject and only PSA) are used in production.
    Questions:
Q1 (general): Why should we have a process in Process Chain after data load to delete PSA, if we are using PSA and then InfoObject?
Q2 (specific questions): How to include the PSA name in "Delete PSA Request" of a Process Chain when infoPacakge processing is only PSA.
Q3 (specific question): When Data target is not defined in InfoPacakge (but only Data Source and Source System is defiled, and process is "PSA and then InfoObject', then in such case which infoprovider is to be put into "Delete PSA Request" in process chain.
Thank you for reading my questions, and helping me.
    Sincerely,
    S

Q1 (general): Why should we have a process in Process Chain after data load to delete PSA, if we are using PSA and then InfoObject?
Requests in PSA are deleted periodically so as to prevent getting the PSA table bigger and bigger occupying more DB space.
Q2 (specific questions): How to include the PSA name in "Delete PSA Request" of a Process Chain when infoPacakge processing is only PSA.
You can specify the PSA table name, it need not load further targets as it is deleting requests from PSA itself . Loading PSA is good enough for the Delete Request in PSA process type to work.
Q3 (specific question): When Data target is not defined in InfoPacakge (but only Data Source and Source System is defiled, and process is "PSA and then InfoObject', then in such case which infoprovider is to be put into "Delete PSA Request" in process chain.
You can specify the PSA table name, why do you want to Infoprovider name I guess you cannot even do that for this process type.
