PSCC Layers not showing.

PS CC not showing Layers/History/Color, etc.   Also images open in bottom right hand corner of the window.   Also Essentials not showing on top bar.   Tried uninstalling and reinstalling PS CC, but problem still exists.

Hi.  Thanks for replying.   The screenshot is attached.  As you can see the relevant items are ticked in the drop down menu and Essentials (Default) is selected, but none of these items show on screen.  Also you can see that the image is opening in the bottom right of the window.
Any help you may be able to give will be appreciated.  I forgot to add that PS CC works perfectly on my Windows pc with none of the above issues.
Regards, Terry.

  • Bottom layers not showing when mask tracking.

So, I'm trying to do mask tracking, but I can't see the results of my masks because the bottom layers (the original footage) won't show underneath the mask. I watched multiple YouTube video, and all their videos showed when they clicked the little eye button. Mine doesn't do anything. I click/toggle the eye buttons, and nothing disappears nor re-appears. I just want to see how the mask looks on the video.
If I click on the bottom layer, I can watch it alone..... but I can't watch all my layers together. The top layer just has the transparent boxes (or I can toggle to black). How do I get all my layers to show at the same time?
p.s. I am on the trial version of AE CC. I just got it yesterday. I have an adobe creative account with Photoshop & Lightroom.
Above photo shows the top layer. Issue is that I can't get the other layers to show beneath this, I just see a bunch of transparency boxes.....

    Hi Breanna,
The Composition tab is right next to the Layer tab. At the top of the composition area. Click the tab highlighted by the red box. (too late, looks like you found it!).
BTW, I know you from San Francisco Renegades and Facebook (come on and do the Chinese New Year Parade!). Looks like you are doing some cool stuff. Congrats on getting into After Effects. It's a lot of fun.
    Cheers,

  • AI (illustrator) layers not showing up in AE (after effects) CC 2014

I've just come across this issue for the first time. I've imported AI files into AE many times before and had no issues like this one.
After importing the layered AI doc into AE, only one layer will show up. Attached is a video I recorded of what happens. If you can make sense of it, please let me know. Note: I can save out eps as separate files and use those in AE no problem.
I'm working on a macbook pro retina and just did a fresh format about 2 weeks ago so everything is up to date. I've tried restarting AE and my computer. Also recreating a new AI file with different dimensions.
I blocked out the files on my computer in respect to my clients (in case you're confused).

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately that's not it.
I've tried: having all the assets on separate layers, making sure the doc was in RGB, renaming the illustrator file, saving it back to different versions of AI, loading into a different AE file, and so on. I have a feeling it has something to do with the paint bucket tool. I've outlined/expanded my graphics just incase, so it shouldn't be.
OH HEY! I've seen a lot of your posts on creative cow as well in the last few years. You're kind of like a AE community celebrity to me haha.

  • PDF w/layers - layers not showing in CS5

I have a pdf file that was created in Adobe Illustrator and it has several layers that I can see when opened with Acrobat. When I try to open the file with
Photoshop CS5, I see the image as only one layer instead of seeing all the layers. Is there a way I view all the layers in Photoshop?
    Thanks for any help,
    Richard

Illustrator saves it's layers in PDF in a way that only Illustrator can read.
Photoshop saves it's layers in PDF in a way that only applications that can read PSD can read.
The layer data is not the same, nor is it sharable with other applications.
You would need to export your Illustrator document as a PSD file, with layers -- but that may change the appearance because Illustrator's transparency model is not the same as other application's transparency model.

  • Psd (from photoshop cs5) layers not showing correctly

When importing a psd into Fireworks (cs5 - 11.0.1.7), I'm seeing layers visible that were hidden on the photoshop view of the same psd.  Also, some of the gradients and brushes aren't be imported properly.  Would it make sense to save the psd down to something like cs4 compatible before saving it for import to fireworks?

Well, just found one solution...   Library > Previews > Discard 1:1 previews and then zooming in on each photo in the Library (Loupe) forced the update.  This needs to get fixed!!

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer.

  • When I open Photoshop CS6, the image does not show in Photoshop. The image IS open, i.e. the filename is shown on a tab and the image layers show in the layer panel. What is going on?

Both Photoshop and Bridge open as usual. But when I open an image, the image does not show in the image area. The image filename does show in a tab and the layers show in the layer panel. What is going on and how do I fix this.

I resolved the problem. It was somehow related to my using Microsoft
theme pictures. I set Windows to use the basic theme and the problem
went away. Thank you for the suggestions.

  • Objects not showing in Layers panel

    Hi,
I am using Indesign CS4 on a Mac 10.6.8. I have a problem with my layer panel --> it does not show a disclosure triangle, hence i cannot expand a layer to show its objects. The objects are definitely on the layer - if I click "select all objects on layer" all objects are indeed selected so technically they are on the layer --> i just can't see the drop down in the layers panel.
I tried simple things such as enlarging the panel to checking for missing fonts (i read that there are often problems w/ Verdana in the layers panel..) to restoring the preference settings.. nothing worked and i couldn't find a single forum entry on this issue..
The file i'm using is from a plug-in for a photo book, however, the layers panel does not work correctly even if i create an entire new document..
In Illustrator it works perfectly, showing all objects and paths on a layer..
Thanks soo much for your input and help!
    Laura

Oh, I see. I didn't realize that since in my CS4 Illustrator I have already the "enhanced" layers panel.. So how do I re-assign existing objects to a new/different layer then if not by drag-and-drop in the panel?
    Many Thanks!!

  • Layers Panel Does not Show Layers

Using Illustrator CS6 on Mac OS Yosemite.  In the layers panel, it only says the number of layers I have (e.g. "2 Layers"), but will not show me the layers.  I have tried everything I can in the Panel Options and it will not show any of these columns: A. Visibility column B. Edit column C. Target column D. Selection column
How do I get the layers to show?

    Moonbelle,
I assumed you had just upgraded the OS and thought the (three step) reinstallation was missing. Otherwise, I should have suggested the full list of things to try in case of such strangenesses, see below.
As you can see, the list starts with some easy ones, including the one you used. Sometimes, a corruption may arise, seemingly out of nothing, and in the luckiest cases it is temporary enough to cure easily.
You may remember the list if something similar happens again.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Flash buttons not showing/hiding layers in Firefox

Before anyone says to use the search tool, I did that, even googled the problem and no suggestions have yet to work. here is the page http://www.preziosidevelopment.com/dchs/dchs.html it works flawlessly in internet explorer, but fails to work at all in firefox. All the buttons being nested inside table cells is another byproduct of having to design for firefox, if there is a better way of setting those up so they display properly in firefox feel free to let me know. I'm a designer not a coder, so please keep that in mind. Just to clarify, the only problem I am currently having is the first two buttons are not showing/hiding my layers in firefox as they do in internet explorer. Thanks for any help.
    Richard Preziosi

I'm a designer not a coder, so please keep that in mind.
Here's a sincere suggestion.  Do not use Flash buttons for anything.  Really.  People who don't have Flash will not see the buttons or be able to trigger anything.  Search engines will not see any links that may be embedded in those buttons nor will assistive screen devices.  As a result of these as well as other maintenance problems that would affect *you* when you try to maintain them, Adobe has removed them entirely from CS4 (and I say good riddance).  Is it possible for you to rethink this entire approach using CSS styled text or ordinary graphic buttons?

  • .ai6  Layers names not showing

Someromes on starting a new file, the layer names or layer color does not show.

Not sure.  I just reopened the file after receiving your reply and the layers look normal.  So I can't replicate it.  Next time it happens, and it will, I'll try expanding the layers panel.
    Thanks much

  • Layer(s) not showing up on top of background, only in layers panel...

Hello All, Any help here would be great....briefly, PSE worked just great before, I'm on my newer MacBook Air, well within system requirements for PSE.  Maverick OS.  Started working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED.  I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here.  What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end.  I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail.  Last night, I called Adobe, spent 48  minutes on the phone with a guy only to be told that he wasn't "trained" in how to fix this issue and his superior would call me back within an hour.  Never got that phone call, so I'm hoping (praying, begging) someone out there will have an idea of WHAT this icon is, as well as how to fix this issue.  Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and called adobe newbie who didn't know even what the icon  meant.  Any takers?!?! See below.....

Because the mask image is the same as the background, the leaves you are painting are essentially the the identical pixels to those underneath. Fill the top layer image with a solid colour and your leaves will show.
You can right-click the little red box to get to a settings dialog.

  • Images edited in Photoshop not showing up correctly in Lightroom after saving

    Hi,
I recvently got Adobe cloud and upgraded from Lightroom 3 to 4.  Since the upgrade I have been having issues with Lightroom not correctly displaying images edited in Photoshop.  Instead of the photoshop image it creates a new jpeg and displays that in the library.  the PSD does not get loaded into the library.
I am taking a jpeg from my library and shoosing the edit in Photoshop function.  I am selecting edit a copy, but have tried it with original and with edit a copy with lightroom adjustments as well with the same results.
In Photoshop I am duplicating the base layer, upscaling the image, running some filters, adding dsome adjustment layers.
I save the image in Photoshop format back to the original folder where the initial jpeg was in the Lightroom library.  I save it with maximize compatibility on.
When I go back to Lightroom, the catalog displays two files, the initial jpeg and an identical copy to it, NOT the new photoshop file with alterations.  If I go to the folder the images are housed in in Finder using the show in Finder command both images link to the same original jpeg.  The photoshop edited file is there in the folder but does not show up in Lightroom unless I drag and drop it.
I have turned off all filters and made sure the sort is sorting by name.  The image does not automatically show up in Lightroom after editing.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks for any help!
PS. I did search the topic and there are threads from 2007 and lightroom 2 but their solution was to start from scratch essentially and I have a carefully tagged, starred, and labeled catalog of 30,000+ images and really don't want to do that

Images that are edited in Photoshop will be displayed automatically in Lr only when the image-file saved in Photoshop is the same as the one opened from Lr.
You say you open a JPG from Lr, then edit it in PS by - among other things - adding some layers. Layers are not supported in the JPG-format so you have to either save it as a psd or as a jpg-copy.
In either case this is not the same image file as the one opened in Lr, so it will have to be imported into Lr to show up. If you would flatten your image after editing in PS and then do a <save> to your JPG - not a <save as> - it will show up in Lr.
PS: the only exception is when you open a Raw image from Lr in PS and you save it in PS in the file format specified in Lr for external editing. The saved file will automatically show in LR.

  • Muse 7.0 plus Chrome: browser does not show images full browser width

    Hi there,
I have a serious problem with the latest Muse version: the images which I use as parallax-masks for the background won't work with Chrome, though Safari and Firefox are not showing any problems. The issue: Chrome does either not scale the images to 100% browser-width or does not show them at all, or even shows the images cut into narrow stripes. This problem did not show in the previous version of Muse.
Of course I already restarted application and computer. System: Mac OSX Mavericks.
What to do now? The presentation with the client is very soon and this bug makes me very nervous.
    Best,
    bartl

The problem bartl encountered and reported was fixed by the 7.1 release (November 21st). The problem you're describing sounds different.
As of yet, I'm unable to reproduce what you're describing. The URL you've provided views the same in all the browsers I've tried, Chrome (32.0.1700.77) and non-Chrome, Mac and Windows.
That said, looking at your master page I don't think you've created what you intended. At present there are two full screen slideshows on your A-master. On contains no images and the other contains a single image. Both are set to have thumbnails and the thumbnails container is off the right side of the page.
If you look at your "Master Slideshow" layer in the Layers panel, you'll see the two slideshows. I think you'll want to delete one of them and, given your design, turn off thumbnails for the remaining one.
Also, if you don't plan to have multiple images in the full screen slideshow, you'd be better off using a background fill image rather than the slideshow widget.
I remain a bit puzzled how/why you're seeing different behavior in your instance of Chrome. Have you cleared your browser cache?
On an unrelated note, if you set the page fill and stroke to none and set the browser fill to the most common color from the garage door image, it will avoid the momentary appearance of a white page on a grey background when your home page first loads. Instead the site visitor would see a blank page that's the most common color from the slideshow image, until that image loads.
