PScs4 and Lenovo x61 Tablet Detection

Hey,
I currently have a Lenovo X61T Tablet PC and I am testing out Photoshop CS4.
When I try to set the brush to be pressure sensitive I get the little "!" icon displayed saying that I must have a tablet installed for this feature to work.
I also have the FREE program of “Paint.net” installed on this tablet pc and that is able to detect the pressure sensitivity perfectly. So I would have thought this would rule out any driver issue as the functionality is working its just that Photoshop doesn’t seem to detect it and enable it.
Does anyone have any ideas / suggestions?
Cheers

  • Help! Lenovo x61 Tablet Prompted Message on device installation

Hello! I own a x61 Tablet laptop and I just upgraded my hard drive from 120GB to 300GB. I installed Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit and everything installed fine. But now I get this message box everytime I start my pc or restart:
    Device Software Installation
Windows will now finish installing software from the manufacturer of this device:
    ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard and Buttons
    Then I have a choice:
    Finish installing software(recommended)
    Ask me again later
I choose Finish installing and I still get the prompt everytime I start my computer.
Does anyone have this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Nevermind this it has been solved. All I had to do was install all the software(even the unwanted ones) for the Tablet Keyboard and Buttons and it stopped prompting. Sorry guys.

In Control Panel select Tablet PC Settings.  Select the Other tab and the last option on the page is Tablet PC Input Panel Options.  There you should see a link to Go to Input Panel Settings.  I think the selections you want appear on the Opening tab.
I could not find a more direct path to it, but perhaps someone else might simplify it.

  • Lenovo X61 has no wireless and no pressure sensitivity! Help!

I bought a refurbished Lenovo X61 computer and restored it back to factory settings. Now it's not detecting my wireless at all. When I turn on the switch, it only detects bluetooth. Also there's no pressure sensitivity in any of the art programs I'm using but there is a degree of pressure sensitivity in the handwriting bar. I checked the bios and updated it and it's still going through some updates. I can use the internet but only if I connect it directly to the router. Can someone help me figure out what's going on and how to fix this?

Hi rollinutena and welcome to the community,
If you haven't already done so, install and run TVSU.  It should find and install all your missing drivers.  The ThinkVantage utilities will also be there if you want them.

  • TPM Module / X61 Tablet / Window 7 and Bitlocker

I am sure my laptop has a TPM - at least the device manager shows it and says it is working - I try to turn on Bitlocker by right-clicking on the drive and it tells me I dont have a suitable TPM module installed...
Anyone come across this or do I not have a module installed.????
Sorry but I am confused...also note this drive has only a single partition..none of this service partition stuff..
    Lenovo X200 Tablet / 350Gb HDD / 4GB RAM / Windows 7

make sure you get the right cable. There are 4 choices. They come with or without support for fingerprint reader and with connections for 2 different digitizers. Most, but not all, X61 tablets have G5 digitizers, but some have G4. Try seeing if the leg to the digitizer has just come unplugged. I hafe seen it happen when the cable is stressed from a bad hinge.

  • Lenovo x220 tablet pc with ubuntu 12.04 Shuts down and starts up unexpectedly

    Hi
I bought a lenovo x220 tablet pc and installed ubuntu 12.04 with GNOME 3 a while ago.
It was working fine at first however recently:
    1. the computer shutsdown unexpectedly, the shutdown dialog appears (the one that gives you the option of restart, cancel, or shutdown); I try to cancel it however the laptop would just power down (without going through the proper shutdown routine). Once it powers down it would try to reboot on its own but halfway during the reboot it would power down again.
    2. At times when I do shutdown normally, I would just close the lid and the computer would start back up again, without my pressing the power button (just moving the monitor makes the computer startup)
In addition I dropped the computer on the battery side at one time and cracked the plastic casing a little. The above mentioned problems still exists when I use the laptop without the battery.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about finding out what's wrong and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hey mate,
sorry to here about that. Here may be a path to the clearing where a possible solution is waiting: Nowadays it is standard to let the pc (or more exactly the power manager of the OS) listen to the ACPI bus for messages like power button pressed and such things. If such a message surfaces and your power manager picks it up it is possible (if you have this configured as an action) that it shuts down you computer or restarts it. To eliminate this possibility you can try one of the following to things:
    1. stop your power manager from working
    2. get yourself superuser rights and use acpi_listen to listen to the acpi bus (if not working then install "acpid", shut down your power manager and start acpid as service)
    3. open your system log (e.g. /var/log/messages) and search for things connected to your power manager or acpi
Please tell me if it worked! If not you could also post the content of your system log for analysis.
    Using x230t (i5-3320M, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 80GB mSata-SSD) and loving it!

  • Lenovo A10 tablet deleting apps and putting them in folders

I recently got a Lenovo A10 tablet and i've been trying to make my home pages less cluttered. Everywhere I look it says to hold an app icon and drag it to the trash can to delete it, but there is no trash can, only and x at the top left of the icon. I get that that is how to delete, but I wonder why every manual and most of the info I googled said there would be a trash can. That isn't really a question, but it seems strange.
That being said, I assume I can't delete apps that don't have an x appear when i hold an icon. Is there a way that i can put them all into a folder? Putting them on top of each other does not seem to work. It does for the deletable apps, but not for most of the others. My android phone has a separate app menu that holds all of the apps and i only need to put the ones i want to see often on the homepage...i guess this tablet does not have this feature?
    Thanks anyone who can help!

To make a folder you have "quickly" slide one icon over another. Actually works with a little practice. Until Kitkat, there was a garbage pail at the top of the screen for delete. Now it's very much like BlackBerrey OS 10 -- instead of an X BBerry has a tiny trash pail.

  • Regarding the new update and lock screen backgrounds. Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 10 Android

Has anyone figured out how to change the lock screen background for the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2s yet?

Yes that is correct! Serene! I received the Yoga Tablet 2 10 from you.
The Yoga Tablet 10 I used in the comparison and the benchmarks was the one I won from Lenovo Belgium.

  • Any suggestions on creating a new user account please? (thinpad x61 tablet, Vista Business edition)

I would appreciate any suggestions on creating/editing the user account on my second-hand thinkpad X61 tablet (running Vista Business) edition. I bought the laptop from ebay in Germany/Austria. When I switched it on, there were no options to create or edit a username. I have completed all the updates (Lenavo and Windows). I tried the following to add a new administrative account:
1, Control Panel then selecting User Accounts. A screen appears for a second and then disappears.
    2. I have also tried typing in sysdm.cpl in the command prompt,
None of the above worked, as the screen does not appear at all. I have also tried allowing the automatic updates on, that does not work either. I was wondering if this is managed by the Think Vantage system. Not sure if this is relevant, the Vista Business language was set in German and I added a language pack via Vistalizator to turn it into English.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Have you tried running the Local Users and Groups Manager (filename: LUSRMGR.MSC) to create a new user?  If so, were you able to create additional accounts through it?

  • X61 Tablet stops responding to pen

    Greetings, all!
I have an X61 Tablet 7767-02U (call it X61 A) that is barely three weeks old.  Was working wonderfully until yesterday.  When in tablet mode, it will not respond to the stylus (pen) input.  Stylus from a second, identical X61 does not work on X61 A.  Both stylus pens work on X61 A when not in the tablet mode.  Both pens work in all modes on tablet # 2 (call it X61 B).  What could have happened to the X61 A, the first tablet?
Pen works when in laptop mode, not in tablet mode.  I know it is not the stylus pen, as the stylus pen works on the twin X61 tablet.  I removed the WACOM driver from the device list, rebooted, and the driver was back, but still no joy.  Ideas?
    Thanks in advance!!

I have an update.  I haven't found out anything new from Lenovo or Wacom, but I've been tinkering around, observing what happens.
The pen/stylus still freezes once in a while, and I've have not been able to find a "direct" means to "reenabling" it, i.e., I haven't found an explicit source for the problem such as a bad driver, or some button I can do to make the pen/stylus and the laptop start to interact with each other again.
However, (interestingly enough), if I place my note book in "sleep mode," and/or "suspend," then bring it back the pen/stylus relationship is rebuilt/reconnected and it works fine.  I've tried this several times when it freezes and it works consistently.
With a little more information about a) Wacom / Pen relationship b) the Wacom / Pen relationship to the notebook c) the "sleep mode / suspend" operation, we could start to piece together what the cause is.
That is to say, what happens when the laptop is placed into sleep mode, vs what happens when it is brought out of sleep, i.e., what operations does the laptop re-initialize when it wakes up?
The bad news is all of this, although, ultimately knowable, is probably too tecnical and/or would just take too much time to figure out.  Someone at Lenovo / Wacom, who is more technical, will ulitimately have to figure it out and fix it. :-)
All and all, I'm happy it is still working, apparently some people's stylus just totally stops working.
    Thanks again for the update.

  • X61 Tablet buttons not functioning under Windows 7

I have an X61 tablet, and I have noticed that the tablet buttons don't work. I installed the Tablet Button driver for Vista, and I'm not sure what else (if anything?) I need to install in order to fix the problem...

Ok I suspect I am being dense but I have had bluetooth working happilly enough for long enough and the other day I disabled it via the taskbar icon and thought i could eaily re-enable it later...
Well I know somewhereoin the depths of this OS there is something to re-enable it but I am blowed if I can find it...
This is driving me nuts ..I've been all through control panel / BIOS settings ..everything...and getting nowehere....

    Lenovo X200 Tablet / 350Gb HDD / 4GB RAM / Windows 7

Sorry to be pulling up this old thread, but I have the same problem. I've been reading every bluetooth entry in this forum and still have no solution for my problem.
I have a X61s with Windows 7 on it. Bluetooth worked fine for 2 years.
After deactivating WAN and BT on my X61s, and a subsequent automatic Windows Update, there is no way to switch it back on.
FN+F5 pulls up a window which only lists WLAN, no longer shows BT and WAN as entries. Device Manager also doesn't list it. I've spent hours on this... no success. There is no Bluetooth entry in BIOS 2.22... I'm stuck
I've even swapped the bluetooth daughter board with the one from my wive's x61T, just to make sure it's no HW issue.
Is there any other way than going back to XP/Vista (don't own either) + old ThinkVantage ToolBox?
    Any suggestions?

  • X61 Tablet - Wacom Code 10 - Cannot use Pen

I recently got my X61 tablet back from the shop after having some warranty work done (replaced hard drive) and now I can no longer use my pen or any of the other tablet features.  Lenovo sent me recovery disks and they did not help.  I tried downloading the most recent drivers and I am still getting Wacom Code 10 - cannot load driver software.  What can I do?  The support people recommended sending in my tablet for more work but considering the fact that I was unable to get anywhere with the support people after four hours of messing around I have a feeling that they have no idea what is going on.
Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • X61 Tablet - Do ALL the XP Drivers exist for it?

Well I made the mistake of taking an X61 (which i love) with Vista Business (Which I hate/loathe etc) and I am seeing all the kinds of problems  I hoped not to...applications restarting (Word/Excel) when shut down , Wireless connectivity incredibly flaky (limited connectivity for no apparent reason - reboot and it's working..XP machine sitting next to the Vista one just smiles as it carries on surfing the Internet).
Sooo I am going to downgade to XP on it...
One question though..I can see that most of the drivers are there under XP but are they ALL available..can someone confirm that? I worry I install XP only to find , say , the tablet itself not working or the fingerprint reader or the sound etc etc..
Sure some of you must have done this?
    Thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, they do.  I just built a X61 tablet image for my company earlier this week.
In order for the tablet components to work though you need the Tablet PC Edition of XP and you have to start with a base install of XP Pro with service pack 2 (if you start with service pack 3 there are issues with the on-screen keyboard and a few other things).  The XP install is normal and when asked for a product key you need to provide one for the Tablet PC Edition.  Then, during the install you will be asked for the disk with the tablet components.

  • X61 tablet install of simpletap

I installed simple tap on my windows-7 powered x61 tablet. I think it's a good start. I particularly enjoyed using the volume and brightness sliders. I added a tile of my own no problem. It' be nice if simple tap had tiles for all the lenovo goodies on my machine such as rescue and recovery, airbag protection, etc.
My biggest fear is that my x61 with single-touch gets forgotten in the multi-touch world. That would be a shame because a single-touch interface is one that'll work well with an ordinary mouse too.
What I'd really like though is a nice touch based windows shell. Origami was getting there I think, but I can't run it in windows 7. It seems the best touch interface we've got at the moment is windows media centre with a few extensions added in. I've even tried the x86 version of android and wasn't too impressed. Touch friendly apps seem to be a fair way off yet

    Hi Robert
    I got a X61 pen enabled tablet ...
I looked around but -beiing a newbie- I couldn't find what I wanted to know:
Does your remark about simpletab apply to a pen enabled X61 as well ?
    (I cannot multitouch, can I ?)
What is Origami ? Where can I find it ?
(and yes I know where/how to fold paper ;-)

  • Batteries for X61 Tablet

I want to replace the battery in my X61 Tablet, and have been going between the 8 cell battery and the extended life battery, FRU 42T5208 and 40Y7904 respectively. Because of the sheer size of the extended life battery and the name, I assumed it would have a lot more hours in it than the 8 cell, but a webshop mentions that it is 4 cells.
If that's true, then I will go with the 8 cell obviously, but that made me think. Is it possibly to use both, since the extended life battery is just like the extension bay that you can get for it?
Edit: This is effing unbelievable. I've just spent the last hour being thrown through all of Lenovo Denmark's phone numbers, just to try and find the battery time for the extended life battery, which absolutely noone could tell me, so I google the Marketing part number (where as I had mostly used the FRU number before) to try and find a retailer who sells it, and the first link is an answer to both my questions. Sheesh.
    http://shop.lenovo.com/fiind/fi/en/itemdetails/40Y7005/38/D332312ED67F4C719F2B854A4A547854
So the answer is 2.6 hours for the extended life battery, and yes they can be combined. I'm sure there's a life lesson to be learned here.

    Hi Flaco,
Lithium batteries aren't designed to be discharged to 0%.  Were both batteries at 0% when you got them?
I've had batteries discharge to 0 while in hibernation and as long as it wasn't at 0 too long it would start charging again.  But, I've had batteries that have discharged to 0 not charge again.
You could try turning the laptop off and removing the battery, then plug in the ac adapter and then install the battery.  Leave it like this overnight and in the morning turn it on and see if it charged at all.  If it didn't, it could be yet another bad battery.
