Psd file unrecognizable in windows after CC2014 install

After I uninstalled Photoshop CC and installed the CC 2014 version, the application in Windows' default programs, had disappeared and now almost all photoshop extensions (.psd; .psb; .actn) are unrecognizable in Windows 7 when I open a file. I tried adding Photoshop CC 2014 to the Default Programs list, but when I load it, it's not there!!! How can I fix it????? anyone?????

I am also having this problem. Further, when working on placed files in Muse, Edit Original also fails. PLEASE help. this is making working in CC nearly impossible and HIGHLY frustrating.

Adobe installer files remain as windows after Reader installed, I've gone to Adobe Chat and they had me uninstall and reinstall Adobe AIR but the problem presists in Firefox only, not AOL or IE browsers.

After uninstalling/reinstalling AdobeAIR I now not only get the Adobe Reader install window but also get the AdobeAIR install window upon bootting up Firefox.

Can you open any file, i.e. jpeg, etc.? Have you installed the Apple legacy Java: Java for OS X 2014-001? I'm guessing you have because you wouldn't be able to open PS at all without it. But have to ask.

How to restore files from Time Machine after Clean Install of Mavericks. I know the data is there but seems unaccessable because I may have changed the Computer or Owner name. Is there any way to fix that now?

my back-up data is managed by Time Machine; the actual data is on a second internal Hard Drive with a capacity of 1TB - not partitioned. I am using Time Machine and have access to all data backed up since Mavericks Clean Install but not the data prior to this date.
When I open the 1TB drive in Finder I can see a folder "Backups.backupdb/Sigi's Mac Pro/ followed by many folders of backup dates going back to 2010-09-20-103441 and up to 2014-02-07-142414 all followed with folder Macintosh HD. February 7th 2014 was the date of the clean install.
These Backups are followed by backup date folder 2014-02-08-075554 with a subfolder of MacPro-320GB (this is the name I assigned to my Boot Drive during formatting; I suspect I should have assigned the same name as before ie. Macintosh HD) and 2014-02-11 with a subfolder Macintosh HD, these are the ones I get access to by way of Time Machine > Restore.
Weird thing is on Febr 11 when I relised my possible mistake and renamed the Bootdrive back to what it was initially ie. Macintosh HD despite this I have access to all backup data since the Clean Install in both folders MacPro-320GB as well as Macintosh HD but not to any data prior to the Clean Install.
Is there something that Time Machine knows and prevents access or is it simply a matter of renaming the subfolder 2014-02-08-07554/MacPro-320GB to ........./Macintosh HD?
I like to restore selectively and not everything - It was hard work reinstalling apps that were supposed to be the troublemakers (ref my discussion on Maverick problems) but I now need to get onto data specific to some of these apps as well as other data I may have missed. Long story? Yes and sorry.

T42P-Rebooting Windows after Loading/installing Recovery Discs

I just installed a new hard drive after crash, and loaded new purchased recovery disc set from Lenovo. Any ideas how to get machine to boot to windows after installing? Keeps rebooting to Recovery menu with no options for windows. Assume this recovery disc set brings laptop to 'as new shipped' condition.

As the recovery discs are read, the recovery program copies a number of compressed files over to the hard drive. It then boots back into the recovery program, "prepares" the hard drive (this process takes some time and the dialog box appears to hang with no evident hard drive activity) and then extracts the system and application files to their proper locations. After this it boots into Windows to begin the configuration process (unless you press F11 at the prompt, which puts you back into the recovery program and allows you to do a custom recovery without going through the configuration process for the full recovery). It will boot into Windows a number of times as it completes the configuration process.
I hope I remembered all that correctly. Anyway, at which point is your machine rebooting?

Knowledge modules files were not created after ODI installed

I installed ODI 10.1.3.5 on my Windows XP laptop and found that there are no Knowledge Module files in the directory ODI_HOME/oracledi/doc/km. Should these files be created after ODI installed or do we need to do something to create there KM files ? Appreciate if somebody can answer this ?

Are you talking about KM XML files ? If yes then these are located at ODI_HOME/oracledi/impexp
Under ODI_HOME\oracledi\doc\km you will get the PDF document about KM development guide .

How do I save PSD files created in windows so MAC users can open and work

I have been designing photoshop files for sale to photographers online and all of my work has been created in a windows 7 system. I had a photographer contact me saying that the PSD was trouble to open and that the fonts would not work on his MAC computer.
Can someone supply me with information on creating/saving windows PSD files so that a MAC user can open them and also use the fonts I supply with the files.
The files I create are multilayered PSD's and contain fonts for windows PC use and I don't want to exclude MAC users from utilizing my work.
Any help appriciated.

Just save. There is no difference in files between platforms.
There are some Windows-centric font formats that aren't portable, by any OpenType or TrueType font will be portable between platforms.

Photoshop not recognizing PSD files in my windows account but works on others

I tried browsing my computer for the default program to open .psd files, but when I double click photoshop cs6, it doesn't show up in the list of default programs. Please help, this is very annoying. Photoshop can open .psd files automatically in other user accounts, but not on mine.

Dreamweaver has suddenly started trying to open PSD files even from Windows Explorer

All my psd files have the little dreamweaver icon next to
them now. When I try to open them either from Dreamweaver or from
Windows Explorer, I get a message in Dreamweaver "failed to open
document". I've tried changing my preferences for which program
should open psd files but that isn't working either. I can open
them from within photoshop or from within dreamweaver only if I
righ click on it and tell it to open with photoshop.
This just started but I have been using CS3 for a while now.

this is just another of Vista's many quirks and annoyances. n h c,
I tried what you said and it just wouldn't work.
I searched again on google and ended up downloading a program
called creative element power tools, which finally let me change
the file association.

Can't open pdf files in Safari browser windows (bank website window) after I installed Adobe Reader 11update on my Mac last night

I previously had Adobe Reader 9, which worked perfectly.

Here's EXACTLY what happens: I am in a Safari browser website and try to open a pdf file (my bank statement). When I click on the link I get this message in a black window: "Adobe Reader. Before viewing a PDF file in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser." So I launch Adobe Reader but there is no End User License Agreement to accept. I have done this several times with no result. I am using a MacBook Air with OS 10.9.4 and Safari 7.0.5.

Restore files from time machine after new install

In my office one of my iMac's suffered a complete system crash. I am reinstalling OS X Lion as I write this post. The iMac was backed up to an external hard drive using time machine. After the new install of Lion how do I grab my user files from the machine backup?

When you complete the installation and boot into the Setup Assistant use the opportunity to restore from a TM backup which will appear in the Assistant. Just have the backup drive connected. You can then restore from the most recent backups of your Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences.
Restore will take a while, but when done just restart.

Can't open my .psd file using CS4 windows XP & Mac OSX

I am using photoshop CS4 on windows XP I cannot open my file. the message reads: Could not complete your request because the version is not compatible with this version of photoshop.
I did open the file on my mac OSX CS4 as well to try to use some of the fonts installed there. Now the file will not open on either platform. Are there known issues with crossing platforms? I believe the files were always universal before?

There is normally no problem.
You failed to mention what format the file had.
If fonts are missing, it should still open with an error message about the font.

File´s wont open after re-installing FCP

I have just re-installed Final Cut Studio 2 after the hard drive was replaced. When trying to open files that were made over the last
couple of years with this very version, about 44% is read and then this message appears - ´File´s format is too new for this version of the application´.
Would anyone have any advice as to why this might be and how to fix it?

My guess is that you will need to run Software Update to get it to the same version you had previously.

Client Security Solution - unable to open even see in Windows after succesfull install

I just downloaded and successfully installed the latest Client Security Solution for windows 7. After installation it asks for restart, I do it but after reboot I don't see it (!). Under Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools is no CSS at all .. everything others are there, at least I hope. All other features I have are absolutely up to date, since the laptop has only few days and I did careful
updates on everything.
I don't understand, windows install it and there is nothing .. I don't even know where to search for it ... can you help me out
why can't I see the installed CSS?

you can stop it from auto filling PWs in PWM uncheck the box for auto log in every saved PW should have this option you should see something like this but not exactly LIKE IT this is PWM4 BETA
