PSD file worked fine month ago - now corrupted

Hihi,
Suddenly I can´t open a psd file I saved on the 24th of January, I opened it im march but
now I get this error window:
COuld not complete your request because the file
is not compatable with this version of Photoshop
the file name is litun.psd (non unusual characters as u can see or none spaces)
Is this file permanently damaged or can I do something to open it?

Welcome to the forum.
I assume that this file WAS Saved from your version of PS. Is that correct, and which version is that?
Was the PSD Saved to an external, or networked HDD? If an external, what is the connection type, USB 2.0?
Over the years, there have been utilities touted to "recover" PSD's that have become corrupt, but I have not ever used any, and they seem to go, as quickly as the come. You might want to do a Google Search, or terms like "PSD recovery," etc. and see if there are any reviews of the utilities.

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

later versions of Premiere Elements.

I mirror from my phone to the Apple TV. Still images and everything I do on the phone is mirrored on to the TV except when I want to show a YouTube video or any video and then the screen on the phone and the TV screen go black and the spinning beach ball appears. The videos open right up on the phone if I do not have mirroring on and going through the Apple TV. I just downloaded the latest update to the phone it did not fix the problem. Please help. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps concerning device issues. You may want to consider a reset, then testing to see if the issue is resolved:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

All my markers on a given piece of audio allows me to left click to highlight the time signature until my audio reaches the one hour point. From there on, the left click will not give me the drop down menu in order to copy and then paste into an Excel sheet I then have to submit for the proofing purposes. After the one hour mark, I can only control/c in order to highlight, then when I slide up to my Excel sheet, I'm able to right click and paste. Why is the program not, all of a su allowing me to left cllick the mouse and have a drop down menu give me the option to "copy, " as it does for any time signature markers up to 1:00:00.000?

Which version of Audition? With the latest version of Audition running on a Windows 7 machine I can't get a dropdown menu at all when I left click on the time in Markers List. The only way to do it is with cntrl-c.

I have an issue in Adobe Reader, blurry text with a section of a PDF. Same file works fine on a colleagues PC. Even tried Pro?

I posted this question on Twitter last week, was asked to check the settings for rendering and this didn't make a difference. I then installed Adobe Acrobat Pro to see if this made a difference but no luck. Finally I was asked to print in B&W but again no luck. One of my colleagues is using Reader and the same file works fine for him. Please help...

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

Not sure what you mean by "tried to use Word". ExportPDF doesn't change what Word can do. Can you explain what you try and what happens in more detail?

Two existing .psd files render fine in PS CC 2014, but in 2014.2.2 the output files display as mostly frozen frames.

6 months ago I created two .psd files in PS 2014. I've since downloaded the latest PS CC 2014.2.2 which is up to date. I tried to render both of them yesterday and in both cases the output runs for a while and then the same frame displays for- in one case the remainder of the video - and in the other it starts to play, freezes, plays, etc. I finally tried rendering in PS CC 2014 (14.2.1 x64) and they both rendered fine. The corrupt files out of the new version are virtually the same size as the originals (I had removed a watermark layer for this render) so they are slightly different. Is this a known problem?

Is it a known issue? Who's to say? You have not provided any detailed info about what is going on in the files nor any system info. Could be a simple CoDec issue with some source files, but then again it could be a genuine bug, which in turn could even be specific to certain combinations of features. See how that possibly could be a little more complicated?

Photoshop saved a PSD file with security permissions, and now I can't access it. Please help!

Using Photoshop CC, I saved a PSD file after several hours of editing. I also exported a TIF file from the PSD. After closing Photoshop, I cannot access either file in any way. I cannot even copy them.
going to properties --> security, I get a message that reads, "You must have Read permissions to view the properties of this object." Click Advanced to continue.
When I click Advanced, it says "Unable to display current owner", and in none of the three tabs available (Permissions, Auditing, or Effective Access) can I click "Continue" and get any further than the message, "You do not have permission to view or edit this object's permission settings".
Please help me. This is highly frustrating, and a bug that is costing me over an hour of my time troubleshooting.

UPDATE:
I rebooted, and the files are... gone. Photoshop CC has no record of the file under "Open Recent".
What just happened? I lost a good 2 hours of work and a unique photograph

I restarted the project, saved a PSD with Maximize Compatibility selected. Verified this file has appropriate permissions.
When I then go to File --> Save (not "Save as", but "Save"), after progressing to 90% or so, an error message comes up, "Could not save 'O:\[path]\file.PSD' because the file name was not valid."
I click "OK", and then go to the original file and check its permissions. They are now changed to "You must have read permissions".

I have this exact problem too. Windows 8.1 CC 2014 and all of a sudden I get the problems AIJ23 has. Say I have 8 files open, I save the first 3 or four, just with Control-S (saving in PSD format) no problem, then all of a sudden on the next save I get a message saying I don't have permission to save over the file followed by the same problems as above. I use Save As so I don't loose my work but I cannot delete/rename/change permissions of the original file. This only started happening about 2-3 days ago and only happens in Photoshop. I haven't managed to find much about this issue anywhere.

Try opening up Internet Explorer, going to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], click the big "Download Now" button. Then, click run. Install Firefox on your machine over your old install. This is just to make sure none of the components of Firefox are broken. All your old information will be saved.
Then, try to restart your PC and reopen Firefox. Does it work? If not, try starting it in [[Safe Mode]]. It is works there, it is likely that one of your extensions is broken. Read [[Uninstalling add-ons#w_how-to-disable-extensions0-personassf-and-plugins|How to disable extensions, Personas, and plugins]], and disable them one by one until you find the culprit.

Second display from iMac27" (late 2009) miniDisplay Port worked fine until today- now no longer connects to Apple Cinema Display

Have a configuration of an iMac27" (MAC 27"/4850-512MB PROCESSOR 2.66GHZ QUAD-CORE INTEL CORE I5 Dec 2009 model) and a second screen Apple Cinema Display 2009 model 24"
The setup with the Apple Cinema Display has been working fine for 3 years and since yesterday the second screen refuses to work.
Connected it to a MacBookPro and the Apple Cinema DIsplay functions fine sot my conclusion is it is not the Apple Cinema Display's error.
Could it be that the Mini Display Port on the iMac is somehow broken? Or is there a software fix I need to checkout?

UPDATE:
As noted in the first post, both of these newer USB DAC work fine at 24/96 on my wife's iMac, so it's clear that they didn't both become defective when I connected them to the Macbook Pro at the same time.
Resetting the Macbook Pro PRAM didn't help, so I removed the hard shell laptop case to get to the battery and remove it, then reset the SMC. After that I could use the original DAC at 24/96 again, but only IF it was plugged into the rear USB port. If I plugged it into the front USB port then the sound was garbled and filled with noise. This was a vast improvement over no sound at all.
Then I switched to the replacement/updated DAC, but I got no sound at all from either USB port at any bit-rate. And returning to the original DAC again now results in no sound again.
Sigh... I will reset the PRAM and SMC again, and see how far I can get with this. I'd still love some help. Thanks!

I moved my iTunes content to an external drive a few months ago; now I can't access it with other iWork/iLife applications. Help please :)

Between my external drive and my internal drive I have 3 Library.xml and Library.itl files. (There was a situation where I had to rebuild for some reason)
Should the "Library" files reside on my internal drive or external drive? In my ~/users/username/Music/iTunes/ directory? If so, can I delete all current versions of the Library files and just rebuild by holding down the shift key when starting iTunes and choosing an option? Which one? Would they end up in the correct directory? Sorry if this seems confusing but everything works fine with my iTunes EXCEPT I can't access iTunes in other iLife/iWork programs.
I should mention I have the same problem with iPhoto (on external drive; not populating in iLife/iWork, but works fine by itself) I know, not the right discussion, just thought I'd mention it.

If the iTunes Library.itl file is also on the external drive, try launching iTunes while holding down the Shift key, and when the dialog window opens that allows you to create a new library or open an existing one, choose to open an existing one, navigate to the folder that contains that library file and select it.
If that works, note for the future that if you launch iTunes when that external drive isn't mounted, iTunes will default back to the normal location on the internal drive and you'll have to repeat the Shift-launch process.

Looks like Google changed the domain for Google accounts. You'll need to edit the Google Toolbar extension to have the new URL. The alternative id for Google to update their Google Toolbar program for Firefox, but I doubt of that will happen - they have recently dropped support for Firefox. I found these instructions in another support forum.
Open up toolbar.js with a decent editor.
Find:
www.google.com/accounts
and replace ALL with:
accounts.google.com
Restart FF.
Login through the toolbar. Enjoy.
My advice is to get your bookmarks from Google and import them into Firefox itself. If you want a backup service for your bookmarks, use Firefox Sync or Xmarks instead of Google Bookmarks.

Worked fine with WPA2, now WPA and cannot connect

Hi,
I had to change the security settings on my router to accommodate another device on my network and now I cannot get my Airport Express to join the network. I've used an ethernet to plug my Macbook into the the AE, changed the security settings, click apply, and still nothing.
If it matters, my router is a Linksys WRT54GS which it was working fine with before changing the security type.
Please advise.

This indicates that the AirPort Express is not correctly joining the wireless network because the security settings are not compatible. I'm not sure what else to suggest at this point as there are only two available settings that you can use with the Express for WPA...."WPA/WPA2 Personal" and "WPA2 Personal".
Perhaps there are some additional settings on the Linksys to try? I'm afraid that you may need to return the Linksys to WPA2 to get the green light on the Express.
