PSD files saved for web and devices show up as broken when opened Dreamweaver. How can this be fixed?
PSD layouts saved for web and devices show up as broken links in dreamweaver. Previews in browsers are fine, but I keep getting and error message that says the files have been blocked. What is the fix for this?
You can also try out Project Parfait. It's a new experiment from Adobe that’s currently online and free to try out and use.
It allows easy PSD comps-to code workflows.

Photoshop crashes when saving for web and devices
When hitting saving for web and devices, Photoshop starts to render images but before it's done, it crashes. I get an error-popup with no text and the screen where normally the animation is shown is red. Then Windows comes with a crash report and I can only quit Photoshop.
I have an animation of over 150 frames, but just some black and white lines, no color.
I'm using Photoshop CS 5.5 on Win7.
I tried deleting the preferences in AppData/Roaming etc, but no result, still crashes.
My Photoshop is also updated to the latest version.
Help?Ok, here's a crash report from Windows (not sure which I should post so just gonna post them both..)

Strange white lines sometimes occur when saving 'for web and devices' in Illustrator?
Hi
Strange white lines sometimes occur across my documents, when saving 'for web and devices' in Illustrator CS5 (on the right side of the black logo below). Does anyone know how to avoid this please??
Thank you so much.LSM,
The link seems broken. -
I updated to iOS 6.1.2 and my battery is dying at an accelerated rate, how can this be fixed? (iPhone 5)
Put the phone into airplane mode for a little while and see if the battery still drains at the accelerated rate. If so, there is some type of service/app that is draining your battery.
First, try turning off all unused notifications. That did the trick for me when I had this problem. -
Saving for web and devices scaling problem
Hello,
Whenever I try and save a 'larger' PSD by slicing it, and saving it for web and devices It always seems to 're-size' it and limit me to a certain percentage such as 70%.
For the projects I'm working on - I NEED the width to remain at 750 pixels - rather then 70% or even 40% of that - and it won't allow me to change it back to 100%.
I understand the JPG image will be large - but is there anyway I can turn this setting off? It only seems to be happening since I got Photoshop for creative cloud...
Thanks!
AndyBecause you are slicing, the remaining portion could be a spacer image(s). If you don't need slicing which is used for creating multiple images cut out of the original to allow for clicking to a URL. Then I would advise finding another route.
Even though you can get a warning the image is too big, there is a possiblity that save for web will still work just fine for that image.
If not then you can do the work your self, by duplicating the image then either reduce the size of the image with image>Image Size... or crop the image using the crop tool. (the reason for the duplicate file is a precaution to make sure you don't accidently save the reduced file to the original and therefore throwing out data.)
That said, you could also use the image processor which can save in psd, jpg, and tiff. It can also be used to reduce the image size. The beauty of image processor is that it can work on single files or a folder of images. The new images will be placed in a new folder with the name of the format and will be located in the same folder as those it is processing.
Another option is to use camera raw. Since camera raw can load tiff and jpg images (Photoshop CC can also load png files) you can use camera raw to crop images the crop is stored in the metadata therefore the crop is non-destructive. Allowing you to uncrop at any time you choose. If you have photoshop CC you can also use camera raw as a filter which means any layer or all layers in your photoshop file can be edited in camera raw allowing non-destructive crops.
As you can see with photoshop there are multiple ways to accomplish the same thing, some easier, some quicker some more accurate and they will fall into either a destructructive or non-destructive process.
So hopefully all this information does not confuse you any as it is meant to help provide alternative approaches to your issue. -
Error message when saving for web and devices
I cannot save for web and devices for some reason. I get the error message shown in the screen shot below.
I'm using CS5 extended, version 12.1, 64 bit. My OS is windows 7.
It doesn't matter whether it's a JPG file or a PSD, I get the same error message, and I am unable to find a solution so far.Hi,
See if this solution works (from this post):

FIXED .....
OK guys....I had this problem for the longest time & Whenever I tried to use "save to web" feature, I would get the same error.... after a lot of research & finally found a resolution.....
I wanted to take this opportunity to share the resolution why this feature was not working properly....
Here is the link where you will find what the problem was...
http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-vista-window s-7-support/235245-solved-error-1324-when-installing-applications.html
Basically, go to this registry location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\U ser Shell Folders
& make sure that your current "my documents" sub folders are set to:
My Music REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Music My Pictures REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Pictures
My Videos REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Videos
Personal REG_EXPAND_SZ %USERPROFILE%\Documents
etc...etc...etc....
When I fixed my registry...this error went away & I had no problems with it anymore...please post this resolution on the website for others! -
Cs3 Problems with saving for web and devices
Lately, I have had a problem saving my files for Web and Devices and the problem I am having is that when I save the file it saves as a very pixelated version of the very crisp illustration I have created. I can easily copy and paste the file from Illustrator into Photoshop and save it that way but I would much rather just save it in Illustrator.
I am going to get the CS5 package shortly, however I wasn't sure if this problem would also continue in CS5.It should not be a problem in CS 3 either, definitely not in CS5.
Try this
PC
1. Quit Illustrator.
2. Rename the AIPrefs file (for example, to AIPrefs.old) in the Users/(user)/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings folder.
3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.
Also here should be a Save for the Web folder as well trash that also should be in the same directory.
Mac
1. Quit Illustrator.
2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe illustrator CS4 Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.
Also here should be a Save for the Web folder as well trash that also should be in the same directory -
Strange quality issues when saving for web and devices.
Im a UI designer and spend lots of time working with illustrator and photohop. When I design I normally create vector mockps of my work and then export slices using artboards and save for web and devices. Yesterday Illustrator started having problems exporting files. The files look good on my computer, when viewed with pixel preview mode but when i export they look really bad. here is an example:
This is a screen shot of a part of a mobile app im working on at 100 % and 200 %
here is the same area when exported using "save for web and devices" at 100% and 200%:
as you can see there is a dramatic loss in quality. the icons look almost like a low color gif...
Here is what I have tried already:
I have tried changing the settings in the exporter. I normally use png 24 but I have tried all the different settings and they all do about the same thing. the only one that seems to look ok are swf and svg.
I have copied my files over to photoshop and exported from there. that works fine but it is a pain.
any help would be great.

Slice and 'saving for web and devices' not saving all images in selected area
Ive designed my site in illustrator and now im using slices and save for web and devices.
When I save a slice as a jpeg or gif it saves the text and but not the background image behind it. I haven't locked the background image and all the content is on the same layer in illustrator so why is it doing this and how can I stop it?
Thanks
JamesThanks for your reply. Yes, my Photoshop CS5 is updated to 12.1. I'm running OSX 10.5.8 and have tried viewing in Safari, Firefox, and Chrome with no improved success.
I have been reading these forums for about 3 hours trying to find the answer to this question but am still at a loss. I have found one article here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7974006/overlapping-image-in-photoshop-splice-how-to-fl oat-with-css
which explains using an "absolute" value in CSS to lock images in place. I'm currently working in Dreamweaver to see if it's a common error in Photoshop when resizing browser but is easily fixed on the CSS side.
Any help would be appreciated

The Ipod shows up in Itunes as "Window's Ipod" but won't let me manually sync through devices or restore. I can't seem to click on the "window's Ipod box to cjange it back to "my Ipod" either. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes and used different USB ports and still no change.
What happens when you try to restore the iPod?
Have you tried resetting the iPod?

The above also has other trouble shooting.
Note you posted in the iPod touch forum. -
I have read other posts similiar to my problem to try those solutions such as searching for 3ivx add-on but it was not found on my computer. Not sure how to get iPhoto to start working again.
I import photos and the last time I imported photos was in November. Just recently I've tried importing photos again, with the same camera to the same version of iPhoto by connecting my camera and when I click "import" the program freezes and closes. After iPhoto closed the first time I thought that it was just an update that it needed so I updated iPhoto to the latest version. The same problem with importing is still occuring.

Illustrator CS5 15.0.2 crash when Save for Web and Devices (Mac)
Hi baffled with this.
When Saving for Web and Devices in Illustrator CS5 (15.0.2), the application now freezes and has to be force quit.
HOWEVER if I delete the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder all works well until I quit the application, then the freeze will happen again. I had this happen before so under the advice of Adobe I created a new user and all was fine for that user so I transferred everything across... a laborious task.
So my question now is why now?... what has triggered this AGAIN?...
Hope you can help... anyone.
Running:
Mac OS X 10.6.6
Mac Pro tower.
Note:
have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated 15.0.1 - 15.0.2
have deleted all font caches
have deleted everything... that could be related...
HOWEVER have narrowed it down to the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file in the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder
Please too note this is not the folder permissions issue, am aware of that and have thoroughly checked all permissions, ran disk utility and disk warrior.
thanksIf you use cocktail I suggest you get rid of it it can cause serious problems if you select the wrong settings, instead download ONYXwhich is free and will not harm your system or corrupt anything by deleting something you actually need.
I hit the wrong setting using cocktail and it locked me out of all of the hard drives installed or connected to my Mac it is very dangerous. And I cannot imagine a reason for a setting that would protect your hard drives from yourself to the point of not recognizing your own password.
I know it cost money and has advanced settings but having the ability to kill your system is crazy.
Also to repair your permissions use the disk utility or ONYX as the permissions can become changed when installing software or if cocktail changes it locking you out of folders etc. -
Save for web and devices, .png (trying to make an icon)
I'm trying to make a 57x57 px .png file for an iPhone icon. I'm pretty new to Illustrator, but have been watching some videos/tutorials online. I started with the default Print document, and made my icon that looks ok. Nothing fancy, just an ellipse, another ellipse inside of it, and some icon inside the two ellipses. (the two ellipses serve as a ring around my icon). After creating the ring+icon, I put a colored square behind everything for my background color. The total size is 382x382. I created a new Print document to be 57x57. I copied and pasted everything from the first 382x382 image into the 57x57 file, and shrunk the 382x382 to 57x57. I then Saved for web and devices, selected PNG 24, no transparency, and I got my image.
When I look at my image at this size, it looks pretty bad. Like even for the ellipse parts, it looks like it's grainy and that there are jaggies. When I look at other iPhone icons, they just seem so much more smoother and fluid. Is there something I'm doing wrong with saving or shrinking that I need to take into account for? Or are there standard stroke sizes that should be used to get a smooth circle? Thanks! The smoothing process is called anti-aliasing. It fills in the border pixels with a shade of gray, giving the illusion of a smooth curved object.
That being said, keep in mind the smaller in size pixels wise, the harder it is to keep the quality. -
"save for web and devices" problem
Hello
I am running photoshop cs4 on windows vista
When I click on file>save for web and devices, a message appears saying "the operation cold not be completed"
This happens for small files and large files
Can anyone tell me how to overcome this problem please?
Thanks
RegHi again, rego.
I did a bit of searching and someone had a similar problem as you where simply deleting the pref file via key command didn't work. A user suggested to first zip the Save for Web preferences and then delete the preferences. I am not sure what zipping the file does but basically they are suggesting delete the preferences manually.
So try zipping the save for web preferences file and then delete it. After this is done, restart Photoshop and see if it helps. To find where the Save for Web preferences are, refer to this page:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405012.html
EDIT: I am not sure if I was clear about the process suggested in the other post. For clarification, the suggestion is to zip the Save for Web preferences file and then delete the zipped file of the Save for Web preferences. -
The phone company was here working on something while I was gone. They sat down at my computer (iMac) and since then HDR toning doesn't work. Get the code: Error 48: File or folder does not exist. Line: 11 -> $.evalFile(g_StacScriptFolderPatch + "StackSupport.jsx"); How can this be fixed?
Go to //Applications/Adobe Photoshop [Version]/Presets/ Scripts/Stack Scripts Only/ and see if StackSupport.jsx is there. If it is not, uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to have it added back in. If it is there, first try recreating the Photoshop Preferences (hold down Command+Option+Shift while launching Photoshop).
