PSD files saved in TemporaryItems has disappeared.

Ahhhhhhhhhh PSD files saved in TemporaryItems has disappeared.
Hi I was working in Photoshop CS5.1 (OS X 10.7.5) and the original image I started with was saved in TemporaryItems, long story short I spent 4 hours working on an illustration and saving the .psd files\ versions in the same TemporaryItems folder, planning to move all the files tonight. Just came back to it and the files are gone! I may cry pixel tears, desperately running out of swear words.
If anyone can help I would be so very appreciative.
Cheers Matt from Melbourne

Silly question, but, are you sure that's where Photoshop was saving? I've had it happen before where I open a file from folder A, then do a Save As, only to find that (for whatever reason) Photoshop has been saving to some other folder entirely.
Have you tried Open Recent Files in photoshop to see if maybe they were saved somewhere else?
Or, try this; go to Photoshop, create a blank document, then immediately Save As and look at where it's pointing. If it is not at the Temporary folder you expect, look there for your files.
Failing that, have you tried a search on your computer?
Silly. But I'm trying to cover all the bases.

  • PSD files saved as Photoshop Image 13

I have been using Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit) on my Windows 8.1 laptop (64 bit) for over a year and has been working perfect. About two days ago something weird happened. All of my PSD files show that they are Photoshop Image 13 files instead of showing it as a regular Photoshop document. When I open a file or import another Photoshop file, I get a dialogue box saying that the "file cannot be opened because it is not compatible with the current version of Photoshop". I can't figure out what happened. I never saved any files differently that could cause this. I even checked my preferences to see if something was accidentally changed but everything is unchanged. I even uninstalled Design And Web Premium CS6 from my computer and reinstalled it to no avail. What happened? Can someone please help!

  • PSD files saved for web and devices  show up as broken when opened Dreamweaver. How can this be fixed?

PSD layouts saved for web and devices show up as broken links in dreamweaver. Previews in browsers are fine, but I keep getting and error message that says the files have been blocked. What is the fix for this?

You can also try out Project Parfait. It's a new experiment from Adobe that’s currently online and free to try out and use.
It allows easy PSD comps-to code workflows.

  • Psd file saved in LR 5

In LR I use a kind of automate to correct files roughly.
When I edit a raw file in PS-CC with the ' in LR made'  corrections,  LR makes a new PSD file in LR. So far so good.
Saving this PSD file it appears to be much different in LR, becuase of the auto correction. The files was allready correctied / develloped before the edit in PS,  now I have to reset alle setting back to 0.
Any way to avoid this ? :-)

In Preferences>Presets you will find a Checkbox for Apply Autotone Adjustments, uncheck this.

  • Everything saved in PAGES has disappeared!! Help!

everything i PAGES saved has disappeared!! Help!!"

    Hi again AnonyMouse,
Can you startup to your install cd/dvd and Repair Disk using Disk Utility?
Insert your insall cd/dvd #1 and then restart while holding down the "c" key. Hold down till you see the bootup grey screen and the spinning cursor and then release.
When booted to the installer splash screen, go directly to the top Menu Bar and select Disk Utility from the Installer Menu. When Disk Utility opens select your HD in the left pane and then the First Aid tab and then click on Repair Disk.
When Disk Utility finishes, note any errors it reports, and if any are not repaired rerun. Quit Disk Utility and then quit the Installer and the computer will restart.
If the computer boots back up to your normal desktop you can then run Repair Permissions from your HD/Applications folder/Utilities/DiskUtility/Repair Permissions.

F9. Some documents hide the menu bar deliberately, or you could have hit F9 by accident.

  • I can't access .psd file as my trial has Expied!

I'm completely new to Photoshop. I started with a free trial and learned to create some graphics.
When I saved the files it saved it as a .psd file. My trial ended so I signed up for an account and I picked the one for $9.99.
I tried to access my work and I couldn't (won't let access my saved .psd files).  I'm told that the free trial ended.
So, which version do I need? How do I switch it if I'm on the wrong one.
I've looked some but have hard a hard time distinguishing which is which. Not being familiar with Photoshop or any of the others, it gets confusing.

Looks like you purchased Creative Cloud Photography Plan for $9.99. Not sure which version of PS you have installed on your machine.
So, would suggest you to simply uninstall it by running its native uninstaller from :
    Mac OS : /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/
Windows : Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall/Change
Once uninstalled, you can simply install PS CC 2014 on your machine by following the steps mentioned in this article. Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps
    Hope that helps!

  • PSD files saved are not visible.

Files saved from photoshop to a server in Mountain lion not visible. But when I save to desktop then move the file to the server, it recognizes that the file is there and I do an overwrite. Also happens with Illustrator files. Is this a MountainLion problem or CS6?

Adobe takes no responsibility for working across a network to begin with.

  • Can PSD files saved back to Lightroom retain their layers?

When a file is edited in Photoshop. you can choose a TIFF or PSD. It would seem the advantage to PSD would be the ability to retain layers when saved back to Lightroom especially in a file which remains a work in progress. I have not been able to achieve this result. If this is currently not possible, what is the advantage, if any, to use the PSD format?

Not and be exported as such from LR. LR adjustments will be done to the flattened composite image. PSDs must be saved with 'Maximum Compatibility' to be used at all in LR.

  • How do you find an event in iMovie? I input a file today.  It has disappeared.

Today, i input a new event form my Sony camcorder into the latest version of iMovie.  It is labeled 2014-1-11.  I then imput another event and labeed it 2014-1-10. The first file name disappeared.  After about 75% of the second file was inported, iMovie unexpectedly quit.  After I opened iMovie again, both file names had disappeared.  I started to input the file that quit for a second time.  I received an error message that the file name 2014-1-10 was already in use, however I cannot find either of the files.  How can I find the missing files?
    Thanks.
P.S.  So far, I do not like this version of iMovie.  I was getting half decent at using iMovie11.  The new version has been difficult for me to use.  It is taking forever to insert photos.  I am very frustrated.  I have talked to a few people at the Apple store and not getting a warm feeling that the situation will improve.  Does anyone know when a new version if iMovie for Dummies, or any kind of a comprehensive book on the latest version of iMovie, will be available?

Much appreciated, James. However, I found this response confusing, because until I read your message, I had renamed files in the finder by clicking near the begining of the file name. Maybe other people use that method to, so they may have initially misunderstood your response. So I thought I would mention that renaming in the finder with "enter" isn't the only way, but it appears so with iMovie. Thanks!

  • CS4 Design Premium - Photoshop starts, starting new or opening existing psd file results in "Photoshop has stopped working" Problem Event name is APPCRASH. Being Photoshopping for years, never had this happen. Please help!

  • How can I edit separate layers in a psd file that was saved as only one layer?

A designer provided me with a finished design and provided the psd, eps and ai files.  I'd like to make some minor changes in PS and would like to access individual layers - e.g. the text, background, etc.  When I open the psd file, however, it only has one layer.  how do I break out the original layers so that I can edit them?

You can't. Once it's been flattened, you can't unflatten it. Talk to your designer: he/she will most likely have the unflattened version available.

  • Place CC PSD file in to InDesign

I have been trying out CC this afternoon and came to a problem when I try to place a PSD file saved from Photoshop CC in to InDesign. I have both InDesign CS6 and CC installed and the same issue occurs with both, so I think it is a problem with the PSD file. Compatability mode is ON.
When I try to place a JPG or PSD file from previous photoshop versions it works as normal.
The actual issue is that sometimes the object frame just appears as a purple box and other times it won't place in to the document at all... anyone else experiencing similar problems.
    Running on OS X 10.8.4

    Hi Willi,
I just did a few more tests today and it seems that the problem is actually with my image file - it seems to be corrupted. It was a an iStock jpeg file which I did some changes to in Photoshop and saved as PSD.
When I did the same things using PS CS6 and then tried to place in to InDesign I got the same problems...
I use Photoshop and InDesign almost every day and rarely get such problems - so when it happened yesterday after upgrading to CC I immediately jumped to the wrong conclusion!
Thanks for your willingness to help anyway

  • Fatal error when importing Photoshop PSD files in Captivate 5.5 MAC

    Hello,
I'm running Captivate 5.5 Trial on MAC OS X Snow Leopard. All of a sudden one of my PSD files started causing a fatal error when I try to import it into Captivate.
I tried resaving both captivate and PSD file, saving them under different names, restarting, etc.
What I get is "Fatal error occured, ... Restart Adobe Captivate..."
I've tried removing Preferences folder as well as clearing the cache.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks

You can only open Cp 5.5 files with Cp 5.5.
There is no solution for opening these files in Cp 5 version.
May I ask, why did you not get a license of Cp 5.5?  It's been around for over 6 months now.

  • Where do .psd files save by default?

& is that the best place to save them? or somewhere else? I had (as I'm a total beginner) saved them on the desktop for speed - and now can't find the default path...
    Thanks..

On Windows click on the start button, then click computer, then choose desktop from the top of the tree.
You should find the actual files and can drag them to a new folder.
I keep a separate folder for all psd files saved with layers.
If you add them to the organizer every time you save a new file you can use the search facility.
Simply type psd and they will all show up.
