PSD Photos to DVD

I have downloaded my photos to a DVD disc.  Only 2 were not PSD and they are the only ones I can view on my TV. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong.  Is it not possible to download and view these PSD photos.  They are the ones I have altered slightly in Photoshop Elements 10.  Help please!

Make jpgs and use those. PSD is a proprietary format and not many programs even on your computer can fully understand it, aside from adobe products.

  • How can I import the photos from dvd or hard disk?

    Hi!
How can I import/export my photos from dvd or hard disk??!

To what?    Are you having trouble with a DVD made by a particular device, or a hard disk that was on a particular computer, or is still in that computer, and communicating to your computer?  We don't have enough details to answer the question.    Are you trying to get photos into an iPhoto certain version, Photoshop certain version, just the Finder of a  certain version, or specific operating system on your Mac?    We need more details.  Is the DVD a standard DVD, such as is indicated on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2446 or something non-standard?

  • Copy photos from DVD to Mac?

I would like to copy photos from DVD to Mac computer anyone know how to do it.

If the DVD was made on a Mac and they're JPEGs they should openable in Preview from the DVD. If so, just select them and drag them into a new folder to copy onto your hard drive. If the Mac doesn't recognize the DVD and it doesn't mount in the finder window or on the desktop, I'd say you're out of luck. But there are work arounds possible and too many to discuss without knowing a lot more about your setup and the DVD.

  • How can I import psd photos from Elements into iPhoto?

I cannot import psd photos into iPhoto without saving them to the desktop, which is a real hassle (hundreds of photos).  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks for any advice.

I may be preaching to the choir here but this might be of help to you:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.  3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 9 or later the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
NOTE: If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window".  That will let you either edit in iPhoto (click on the Edit button) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and select "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu).  This way you get the best of both worlds.

  • Burning photos onto dvd, loses the original date and time of photo

I'm trying to burn some photos onto dvd, but it marks all the files 'created date' and 'modified date' as today, rather than keeping the original date and time that the picture was taken. Is there a way around this?

Looks like that error is associated with bad or incompatible media. See this thread:

  • Backup photos to DVD (Not Time Machine)

    Hi,
I am running Time Machine and backing up locally. What I am interested in doing is backing up my photos to DVDs and storing the DVDs off site. Is there any easy & free way to do that? I know I can make a burn folder and do it by hand. What I am looking for is a tool that I can choose a folder and select copy and it will automagically span the DVDs.
    Thanks

    Hi K J
If you have the images in iPhoto and select the album, and from the menu Share, select Burn, you can put them onto a DVD that way. I don't know if that is sufficiently automagical enough for you but that seems pretty direct to me.

  • Converting psd photos to jpeg

I have edited certain photos in Photoshop Elements 11 (using the Expert guide for advanced editing techniques)and for some reason, these photos were converted to a psd format.
Now I cannot seem to be able to upload these psd photos to an outside Photo Album provider. all my jpeg photos upload fine but not the psd ones.
Is there a way I can reconvert them to jpeg?  Thank you.

I have found a useful metod for work flow processing is as follows.
complete editing and save to psd format thus having the highest quality images prior to jpeg conversion and allowing further edits.
Still in full photo edit, Enhance> auto sharpen (or use unsharp mask).
Still in full edit mode, Layers> flatten. This reduces file size significantly.
File> Save as> JPEG, then choose quality in dialogue box, which also can be used to reduce file size at cost of image resolution.

  • I can not export photos onto DVD. After I click export, close iPhoto, click Finder, At this point I can't find the file to burn. (copy to be used on Windows) Sorry for the lame question....new to mac

I can not export photos onto DVD. After I click export, close iPhoto, click Finder, At this point I can't find the file to burn. (copy to be used on Windows) Sorry for the lame question....new to mac

So it sounds like you are trying to burn a DVD with photos on it so the photos can be either transferred to or displayed on a Windows PC, is that correct?
For the purposes of this I am going to assume you are using iPhoto '11.
Gather the photos you want to burn to DVD in one album in iPhoto. This is not absolutely necessary but it sure makes things easier for me.
Select that album, then go to the File menu and select Export...
In the dialog that shows up, select the File Export tab. Select the setting you want to use for export. Click the Export button.
Another dialog will show up. Set the location to Desktop and click the New Folder button. Name the folder something nice and descriptive and click the Create button.
Click the OK button. Quit iPhoto as the rest of this work will be done in the Finder.
You will now have a folder on your desktop with that nice descriptive name. Find it and select it. Go to the File menu and from it select Burn "Descriptive folder name" to Disc...
Insert a blank DVD when prompted.
Let the finder complete the work and eject the disc afterwards.
    That's it. Best of luck.

  • Why the huge color shift when I open .PSD photo in premiere 5.5

I have cs 5.5. I adjust a photo in camera raw. In photoshop I do file>new> film and video.  file>place. It's a smart object.  then crop it to 1920x1080 px. then sharpen . then save the .psd photo. . In premiere, I move this photo to a project. when I open it in the source window the color is way off !   Is that because there is no color management in Pr? I can sort of correct it by increasing brightness, contrast and saturation and changing skin tone with "change to color" effect---but this is a huge workload. What am I doing wrong?

I understand this, but when I am getting different colours from different files it's disconcerting. When I use particular RGB values in a photoshop file and bring it in to Premiere, and then use the same RGB files in the Title Tool, I get completely different colours. That is not a monitor issue.

  • I was using Live Quartz on my MBP to stamp name/date on photos... those photos onto DVDs or USBs for trade magazines to use

the end result was I would have one photo of a cow labeled  right next to the same photo unlabeled for a catalogue. I'd burn those photos onto DVDs or USBs for trade magazines to use in their publications. Now all of the sudden I can't do it.  Sent an email to LiveQuartz but haven't heard back.   What's another simple way I can do this-- one or two steps max?  Already tried Preview, but it won't keep the duplicate --- it annotates the original .

Check the LiveQuartz support forums - http://livequartz.7.forumer.com/.

  • After burning photos to DVD Keywords are lost or mixed up

    Hello,
I burned many a photo to DVD last night and today I checked the DVD only to find most of the Keywords I assigned were now non existent except for a large group that should have read "Self Portraits" but now reads "House".
are my keywords gone and scrambled?

    Hi Warriorant,
this is a current bug. Hopefully iPhoto 6 will fix this problem.
Are the keywords in the library that iPhoto opens still correct?

  • Saving photos to DVD ROM with iMovie

If I create a slide show with iDVD, I can set up an option (in preferences) to "always save slide show photos to DVD ROM". With this option selected, when I write a DVD, the photos are writen to a directory along with creation of VIDEO_TS files etc.
I like this option, since it gives me a way of storing the JPEG along with the same slide Show DVD. So at a later date if I want a single JPEG, I can get it from the same DVD as the slide show.
I want to use iMovie to create a slide show, since I want to put animated titles, various transitions between slides, and Ken Burns effect etc. But if I create an iMovie, is there a way to store the JPEG to the same DVD in a directory? I do not see any option, I am willing to take the iMovie to iDVD to get it done, even with this, I do not know how to save the JPEG to the same DVD-ROM.
Can some one help me with this.
    Thanks,

there's no single-click option, but you have an option...
in iPhoto, create an album with your pics (we need that later in iM...)
"export"/share this album to a new folder on your harddrive (don't forget where...)
create your iM project, using that album
when finished, create new iDVD project, use your iM project...
when finished, in "expert" (<< english nomenclatura? the menu option between Project and Windows...) you can choose "dvd rom content"
in that dialog, choose your exported folder with pics to add it as pic.files ...
    done.
