PSE 10 Need to reconnect all after restore to different computer.

I backed up the catalog from PSE 10 on my iMac after checking no files were disconnected.  Restored to MacBook pro choosing once same location, and another time different location, but retained file structure.  The files appear to have transferred without problem, but are disconnected.  Using properties, I find that the location of the file is where it is supposed to be.  If I reconnect a single file, it appears to be exactly where it should be; i.e. the paths on both sides of the reconnect screen are the same when the reconnect is accomplished.  There are 20K plus files in the catalog, and the spinning wheel of death which appears when I select "reconnect all files" is daunting.  What should I do to keep the files from being disconnected in trying to accomplish this transfer?  Many thanks in advance for anyone's help.
Message was edited by: finstead --The spinning wheel of death is gone, but the reconnect function is going file be file, apparently not learning from the process. Disconnected files adjacent to one another in the original file structure are subject to the same agonizing search function by the program.

Over the course of several months I have restored several times and probably duplicated the images or even overwritten them.  I removed all catalogs and all folders containing PSE photos.  PSE requested a new catalog which I created "Catalog test.  I then restored to new location retaining file structure and had instant success!  Thanks!

    If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock).  Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

  • My aperture library will not open after restoring my whole computer after a kernal panic.  I can not get the Aperture troubleshooting menu to open...any help?

    My aperture library will not open after restoring my whole computer after a kernal panic.  I can not get the Aperture troubleshooting menu to open...any help?

    Leonie,
    Fisrt let me thank you for your reply and assistance!  So here is the problem with so more detail...I was not sure I was going to get any replies ; )
    I restored from a time machine back up.
    History of Failure:
    I was trying to launch Aperture when the kernal panic occured.  My computer had been closed, and asleep and the battery was dead.  I plugged in charger and it was restoring/waking up after being asleep/shutting down from dead battery.  I launched Aperture from the dock and as soon as it opened the kernal panic occured.  After that the computer would not turn on.  It would try to boot then it would shut off.  I even tried to safe boot to no avail.  I went to the Apple store and they told me that the only thing I could do was restore whole computer from back up.  So thats what I did.
    Since then my previous aperture library: "2011" will not open.  I have created a new aperture library "2012", and it runs fine.  I have added new photos for about the past month...no problems.
    When I launch aperture with 2012 library then try to switch libraries, I get the following prompt: "The selected library is from an older version of Aperture and requires a relaunch to switch."  I choose "Relaunch" and I get the following warning prompt: "There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library 20111.aplibrary”."  The only option is "Quit"
    Both libraries are version 3.2.3
    Computer stats: 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, OS X 10.6.8
    I have tried to launch aperture troubleshooting by holding option+command from both the aperture icon and from the library file, neither will launch the troubleshooting feature.
    I am ok with computers, but not a whiz (mechanical engineer)...to me it seems as though there is a corrupt path or file or some sort of "check" that is failing, becuase the failure occurs so fast after trying to launch aperture. Maybe that doesn't make any sense but just a thought.
    I hope that you may be able to provide some insight.  Thank you again for you time and I hope that you have a nice day!
    Mike

  • Can I get photos back after restoring phone from computer instead of iCloud?

    My iPhone 4 stopped working and was backed up to iCloud the day before it stopped working. Apple gave me a new phone and told me to restore from my computer as soon as I got home. I did this and my iCloud has been wiped empty. All my photos of my children from birth - I am gutted!!!
    Is there any way to get these photos back?
    Many thanx

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    iCloud stores files, but the iCloud service that allows you to sync (not store) photos in iCloud is Photo Stream, and storing is not its purpose.
    The only way you can get your pictures back is if you have got them on any iPhone backup on iCloud or iTunes. If so, you just have to restore your iPhone in Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, and restore the backup with your pictures

  • My computer crashed and I need to rebuild my site on a different computer

    My computer crashed and I need to rebuild my iweb site on another computer. What do I need to do?

    I take it that you didn't backup your domain.sites file?  If not, then on the Mac that you are re-building your site on, just open iWeb and start re-building.
    If you did, then attach the hard drive that you want to restore from to the Mac that you are using and restore the relevant domain.sites file to that computer and then double click it to open it and iWeb should open it.

  • Need to set up palm Z22 on different computer

    Hi.  I am having serious problems with my pc.  How can I set up my Palm Z22 and all its info into a different computer?
    I appreciate all your help!!

    Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen - right near where the time is displayed?
    If it is not there, the hot sync will be disabled and you need to enable the program by opening the HOT SYNC MANAGER. This can be found when you click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager.
    The hot sync manager should then show up on your screen (on the bottom right) and you should be able to sync.
    Let us know if this works for you!!
    Good Luck!!

  • Need help with transferring iTunes library to different computer

    My old iPod stopped working so I bought a new one.  For my older iPod I use a different computer but I want to use a different computer for my new iPod.  I have all my songs on an external hard drive and I want to use that for my other computer.  How do I keep the same library stats such as play count, last played, date added etc. on the new computer?  When I am looking through the iTunes files there are multiple library databases and I don't know which one contains all my stats data that I want to transfer over to the new computer.  Also, how do I transfer all my playlists to the other computer?  Thanks!

    Copy the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

  • Need to "Reconnect" all Excel Lists in a file from Sharepoint due to 2013 Migration - All URLs changed.

    Hi,
    I have a lot of excel files with lists that come from Sharepoint.
    When we upgrade from Sharepoint 2010 to 2013, all our URLs are chaning since were going to single farm.
    When I ran some tests, the excel files in the 2013 Sharepoint site all point to the 2010 Sharepoint lists.
    Is there a way to go through all the lists in an excel file and somehow point them to the new Sharepoint Collection?
    Thanks!
    Mike

    Thanks for the advice.
    Fortunately I was finally able to come up with a home-grown solution so I'll post here in case someone else needs it.  The code has some extras from my particular application so I just set the basic required code to
    bold italics.
    Sub Replace_Data_Connection_URLs()
    Set wb = ActiveWorkbook
    Dim i
    Dim FullURL1, FullURL2
    Dim didChange
    Dim m
    Dim arrProt() As Variant    'Just an array I used while checking for sheet protection.
                                        '  >>>>>>>>>
    Sheets need to be unprotected first.
    Dim arrConns() As Variant  'Just an array with all the connections and result details.
    m = MsgBox("Updating Links in this file: " & Chr(10) & wb.Name, vbOKOnly)
    Dim c
    ReDim arrConns(0 To 100, 1 To 100)
    arrConns(0, 1) = "Connection Name"
    arrConns(0, 2) = "Result"
    arrConns(0, 3) = "OldURL"
    arrConns(0, 4) = "NewURL"
    arrProt = Check_Sheet_Status(wb)
    c = wb.Connections.Count
    If c = 0 Then
        GoTo closeSub:
    ElseIf arrProt(0, 3) > 0 Then
    'Workbook has protected sheets.  Need to just unlock all for now:
        arrProt = Unprotect_All_Sheets(wb)
    End If
    m = Empty
    For i = 1 To c  'Each conn In wb.Connections
        With wb.Connections(i).OLEDBConnection
            txt = .CommandText
            Debug.Print "Original Connection:  "; txt
            FullURL1 = GetOldURL(txt)
            txt = Replace(txt, oldURL, newURL)
            Debug.Print "New Connection:  " & txt
            FullURL2 = GetOldURL(txt)
            arrConns((i - 1) * 3 + 1, 1) = wb.Connections(i).Name
            arrConns((i - 1) * 3 + 2, 3) = FullURL1 & " >> " & FullURL2
            arrConns((i - 1) * 3 + 3, 3) = Empty
            If FullURL1 <> FullURL2 Then
                didChange = "Yes"
                Debug.Print "Changed: " & FullURL1 & " to " & FullURL2
                m = m & wb.Connections(i).Name & Chr(10)
    '            m = MsgBox("Updating Links in these lists: " & Chr(10) & m, vbOKOnly)
                .CommandText = txt
                .Refresh
                arrConns((i - 1) * 3 + 1, 2) = "Changed"
            Else
                didChange = "No"
                Debug.Print "DID NOT Change: " & FullURL1 & " to " & newURL
    '            m = MsgBox("DID NOT Change: " & FullURL1 & " to " & newURL, vbOKOnly)
                arrConns((i - 1) * 3 + 1, 2) = "NO Change"

  • Logic Pro 9.1.8 on ML Crashes after restore to new computer

    Hi
    I have just upgraded my computer from a Mac OS X 10.6.8 (SL) 2009 Intel Core 2 Duo iMac to a Mac OS X 10.8.2 (ML) 2013 Intel Core i7 iMac, and instead of doing a reinstall of my SW, I restored my previous software and data from the latest Time Machine Backup of my old iMac. Unfortunately, this did not work as expected, as many files were not copied to the right place. Especially some of the Library/Application Support files had to be manually copied from the Time Machine backup.
    Most of my earlier projects now seem fine, but Logic keeps on crashing. One way of provoking a crash, is to start Logic with no projects. The select the Preferences Pane. If I then click on the Sharing Icon to the right Logic Crashes every time (Logic Pro->Preferences->Sharing...).  I have tried to run Logic in both 32 bit and 64 bit modes, with the same behaviour, and I have tried to open Logic without the Core Audio Driver, also with the same result.
    I have also tried using built-in input/output instead of using the duet 2 USB from Apogee.
    Could someone please guide me in troubleshooting/solving this issue?
    Could it be a licensing issue, as I have just copied the Logic Files from the Time Machine backup of my old iMac?
    The computer name is the same as my old iMac.
    Would highly appreciate any assistance.

    Hi
    Step 1 would be to check if you have corrupted preferences:
    Quit Logic
    Go to the <User>:Library:Preferences (note that the User Library is hidden by default in MLion, so use the Finder:Go menu whilst holding down Option to get there).
    Find the Logic Pro preferences file:
    com.apple.logic.pro.plist
    Move this file to the Desktop, and restart Logic
    Any better?

  • Need to reactivate Logic after major changes to computer

    In recent days, due to the Nvidia recall, my Macbook Pro 4,1 (10.6.4, 6GB RAM) has been through two new motherboards and is on a new HD. I have restored the entire system to the new disk using a TimeMachine backup. Everything's working OK, but Logic wants a serial number and the last time I hit this problem I couldn't work around it. So I'm coming here for help before proceeding. I want to be able to reactivate Logic Pro and its associated programs to work with this 'new' computer. How is that done, please?
    Also: I have NOT upgraded to 10.6.5, which was introduced in the middle of my repair work. Should I? Does it work well with the Logic Pro components?

    Um, by entering the serial number?

    Hi, Can anyone help me? I had to change my computer, so I re-installed my whole CS6 Suite. Everything works except my Acrobat X Pro... It won't even open!! I am using a Windows 7 PC ... I even had Dell try and help me... the only thing they where able to do was help me be able to see .pdf docs in Reader! But I can't open a document, or create one, block sensitive info, nothing!

    Hi Lisley56, I found the solution there is a Plug in for Acrobat X Pro that came with Adobe Suite CS6... I downloaded it and that did it!!! It's called "Acrofix". Try looking it up in the Adobe website!!! I hope it works!!

  • Airport Utility for my Airport Extreme needs to be changed to a different computer, because the current computer is down permanently.. How do I do this?  Do I have to reset the Airport Extreme and start from scratch?

    The computer (Win XP) on which the Airport Utility has been set up for the past few years is no longer accessible, so I need to set it up on a different computer. Can I do that with my exisitng wireless network, or will I have to set up a new network from scratch, once I have installed Airport Utility on the new machine?

    You can install AirPort Utility on either a Mac or PC, but there would be no reason to make any changes to your existing configuration on the AirPort Extreme unless you need to do so.
