PSE 10 - Photomerge Panorama Grayed Out

I am using PSE 10 on a Windows 7 platform.  When I go into full edit mode and want to select Photomerge Panorama, it is grayed out.  All other selections for Photomerge are available.  Previously I had no problem on the same computer using Photomerge Panorama with PSE 8.  I have tried to research the forums for answers but cannot find any nswers for PSE 10.
Thanks for any help.
Michael

Well I finallly got it fixed.  Had to go to Adobe Tech Support.  It took them nearly two hours to resolve the problem.  It turned out the Presets folder which contains the Photomerge data was missing.  They tried to remove PSE10 and then reinstall it from my disc.  However we could not get the program uninstalled.  It kept finding an error.  The error had to do with the Presets folder missing.  They ended uploading a new Presets file and copying it into the PhotoshopElements 10 Folder.  Everything now works perfect.  Thanks for all your suggestions.

  • Photomerge panorama greyed out in PSE 11

I have just purchased and installed PSE11. The photomerge options don't appear under File New.  I have tried resetting preferences as suggested in the forum with no effect.  I have PSE 6 installed on the same computer.  Any suggestions?

Try selecting your images in the Organizer and clicking:

  • PSE 8 - Photomerge Panorama not working?

Trial version (is Panorama disabled in trial?), XP, default preferences
File->New->Photomerge Panorama and select either 2 open files or 2 files off disk.    Tried Auto reposition, manual , and in both cases, the program thinks for a couple seconds and then shows me an empty file on screen (checkerboard) entitled Untitled_Panorama1.
Tried a series of different photos, and have done this before in PSE7 with no trouble, so this is puzzling.
    Is this a bug?

John, I want to add some other information for you concenring this problem with Photomerge Panorama in PSE 8 that you have been looking into, as I too get the error message you detailed in your earlier comments on this problem.  I tried your solution (saving for the web) and found that it did work but, of course, it is a pain having to do this workaround. Then, quite by chance I found that Photomerge Panorama was working correctly and so I tried several files, some of which had not worked before!
Tonight, the old problem returned and I have been able to replicate both the problem and the solution.  If I have the Organiser open (which I must) but not the Editor, then it works fine. If I then try to do another panorama with new files, then it usually throws up the error message and fails to work. Any further attempts with the image files (or previous ones that have worked) also fail, ending with the error message.  However, if I close the application completely, and then reopen it, the same files will work perfectly with Photomerge Panorama.
Maybe this throws some new light on the cause for you? (and hopefully Adobe if they read this posting).   Is it a memory problem?   (I have 1 GB of RAM)
    It is certainly very odd.
On another matter, but kind of memory/processor related, although I doubt if you will remember this, but last year when PSE 7 was announced but before it was available, I queried the processor spec moving up to requiring a 2GHz processor  (it was a huge leap in spec from previously required processors and also not a size much then available for PC Notebook users!
You kindly advised that you thought it was more a case of "sloppy marketing" which seemed to be borne out by some later advice that I received and sent you and others from Adobe Technical suppoort.  Recently, when I saw that PSE 8 required a 1.6 GHz or faster processor (the website spec sheet) I was pleased and thoughtful!  Today, my purchased copy of PSE8 arrived. (I have been using a free trial version). Guess what, on the box the processor specification is "2 GHz or faster"  So now we have either another case of "sloppy marketing" or perhaps, it DOES need 2 GHz and maybe this is the problem/part of the problem with Photomerge Panaroma not functioning correctly/consistently?
Maybe though, it IS just a bug and one that I really hope that Adobe can address and rectify AND thsat we don't have to wait until PSE 9.  That would be very, very poor.
How do you report bugs/possible bugs to Adobe or will you further report the issue, assuming that you can replicate what I have found with Photomerge Panorama?
Hope this posting is helpful to you and others experiencing this problem with PSE 8
    Kind regards

  • PSE 7: Preset Manager Grayed Out

    Hi,
Any reason why the preset manager in PSE7 is grayed out?  The attachment will show it better than me explaining it.  It works fine in PSE 4.

Have you tried resetting your preferences yet? Installing the application again will not fix corrupt preferences so go ahead and do this if you haven't. Did the preset manager ever function? If it didn't, it's most likely a fouled installation. If I see anything on the subject, I'll post back...
    Hi Terri,
I reset the preferences and still have the issue.  Since there were other things happening with this install, I decided to uninstall and reinstall PSE7.  Unfortunately that did not solve the issue.  There are two ways to get to the Present manager, while in a tool, lets say Paint Buc_ket Tool, click on pattern, then the drop down, then ">>".  This method does not have all the choices highlighted, explained in my first thread.  The other method is go to menu, click on EDIT>PRESET MANAGER, this does work, but not sure if it is working 100% like it should.
Go to Preset Type > Brushes, then click on the more button.  Do you see a list of brushes to load.  I don't, and wonder if that is normal.  I am comparing this with the Preset Type > Gradients, click on the more button, and there is a list of sets to choose from.

  • Elements photomerge panorama greyed out

I'm using Win 7, Elements 9 trying to make a panorama.  I click FILE, NEW, but then Photomerge Panorama is greyed out.  How do I make a panorama out of two photos?  I've tried loading the two photos first, but no luck.

Do you have the quick edit open? You cannot use panorama with it open.
Open the full edit and try again., it should work then

  • PSE 10 Photomerge-Panorama

    Hello,
my English is not. Maybe you can help me anyway. I've been working recently with PSE10.
I've uploaded 3 frames and wanted to
then edit with Photomerge Panorama. The result is shown in the screenshot.
Can anyone help me what should I do?

Before starting try making copy images at reduced size e.g. 1500 px x 1000 px
Try interactive and arrange images yourself.

Why in Photoshop Elements 12 is Photomerge Panorama grayed out? How do I activate it?

You need to be in Expert mode. Ciick the word Expert at the top of the PSE window.

  • How do i get rid of grayed out EXPORT IN FILE on PSE 12? I am trying to export a panoramic photo file.

I am trying to export a panoramic photo file in PSE 12. but EXPORT under file is grayed out, how do i get rid of it being grayed out?

    Hi,
This is a follow up to the dialog about "exporting" files back to LR5 after adjusting in PSE12.
In simple terms, as I am no expert at all, just a long time film photo pro always struggling with the digital technology, even though it is great to use, here is what I need to accomplish.
After transferring raw files from LR5 and creating a panoramic image file in PSE12,  which shows on my editor next to the several files i created it from. Is it possible to send the newly created panorama file back to LR5 so I could use the print module there. If so, how, what steps need be taken.
Thank you for your help, I am in no rush, and am very appreciative of your imput.

My overall aim it to create the finest quality panoramic print for exhibition.

  • The 'photomerge panorama' title on Photoshop Elements 11 is 'grayed out'.  How can I fix it?

The 'photomerge panorama' title on Photoshop Elements 11 is 'grayed out'.  How can I make it work?

    ELHID labs,
As your question applies to Photoshop Elements, I will Move your post there. Your links and any e-mail subscriptions will follow perfectly.
Also, I think that Steve G. and Neale have given you some great direction to getting your Panorama "stitching" working for you.
    Good luck,

  • PSE 6 Mac - Panorama Option Greyed Out

In PSE 6.0 for Mac the option for Photo-merge to Panorama is grayed out.  I've read a few other posts in various forums, so I know it is not my computer problem.  I've not read a logical or definitive fix for it.
I have an iMac with the latest OSX, as well as Lightroom 2.3.
    Any suggestions/fixes?
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the personal reply.  You might remember that I'm a recent
convert to the Mac (you helped me with the switch).  As far as I know,
it must be an admin account.  I set up the iMac for myself only, and
run everything else, Lightroom, etc., without switching any accounts
or other settings.  Basically, it runs from the same applications
folder as everything else; although, I put a folder on the dock which
holds my various photo app related software.
I never tried to run it before.  I went to Yankee Stadium yesterday
and took a series of shots in anticipation of it becoming a panorama.
I used my rarely used P&S the Canon G3.  I had some difficulty setting
up the software for the iMac to communicate with the P&S, but once
that was done I got all of the JPEGS into LR.  I could also transfer
them into PSE6 for editing.  I just can't run the Photomerge Panorama.
I could reinstall PSE6 from the original disk, if you think that makes
    sense.
    Thanks,
    Steven

  • Merge to Panorama ... grayed out

After a reinstall of Windows 7-64 (to fix an unrelated issue) "Merge to Panorama" no longer works; its grayed out. It was working fine prior to the reinstall. I can Edit with "Photoshop Elements 6" from "Lightroom 2" (the same sw that worked earlier) but all the other selection under "Photo->Edit In" are grayed out.
I tried solutions that helped others in the forum but they didn't fix my problem. A registery path change didn't work, for that matter Lightroom can find Elements. I also changed the Bit Depth to 8 bits. I reinstalled Lightroom.
I tried photos that worked earlier with no sucess. I'm trying raw photos, same as when it worked.
When I re-installed Lightroom it was version 2.0. After an upgrade, it moved up to 2.7; neither worked. I don't know what verions it was at when it was working.

Do you have Photoshop installed? Merge to Panorama is an option only available with PS, not with PSE (and has always been).
To compose a Pano in PSE, you can do the following:
    Select several photos in LR
    Edit in Adobe Photoshop Elements
    In PSE, File/New/Photomerge Panorama
    Save Pano
    Close PSE
    Import saved Pano into LR

  • Interactive Layout mode no longer available in Photomerge Panorama in PSE for Mac - any workarounds?

Hello,  after having purchased a download of Elements 12 for Mac, I found out that the Interactive Layout mode in Photomerge Panorama was no longer available (it was available in earlier versions, such as Elements 11). Is Adobe able to exchange my version 12 for version 11, or is there some other way I can gain access to Interactive Layout mode? I have found that the Auto layout mode often results in a message that it cannot align the images to create a panorama. Thank you.

In photoshop cs6 give this a try:
    1. Go to File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack, browse and load the pictures for the pano with the Attempt to Align and Create Smart Object unchecked
    2. Increase the canvas size of the document with the Crop Tool holding down the Alt key and dragging
one of the crop corners out until you think the canvas is big enough to arrange your documents for the pano.
    3. Align the layers manually in the document window with the Move Tool as good as you can.
(you can lower the layer opacxity so you can see the alignment better, but don't forget to put all the layers back to 100% opacity)
    4. Select all the layers in the layers panel
        (Select>All Layers)
    5. Go to Edit>Auto-Blend Layers and use Blend Method>Panorama and Seamless Tones and Colors
    6. After the blending it's possible you might see some whats looks like seams, so press Shift+Alt+Ctrl+E to make a merged copy on a new layer and hopefully that'll
        get rid of the seams.
I'll make another post with directions for putting the plugin into photoshop cs6, since you probably don't want to install pse 11 just to get a plugin when
photoshop cs6 is so much more capable than elements, for panoramas anyway.

  • Photomerge Panorama is greyed-out/ disabled?!

I just installed PSE 8 on my Mac and everything went smoothly.  Having already played around with the trial version, I was excited to try the Photomerge Panorama function.  Unfortunately, as it did with my trial version, when I went to File > New, all the Photomerge options come up, but the only option that is greyed-out and unable to be selected is the Photomerge Panorama!  Has this happened to anyone?  Advice, please...

    Hi Zachary,
Please make confirm that whether you are working in 'Guided Edit Mode' or 'Full Edit Mode'. If you are working in 'Guided Edit Mode' then Panorama feature won't be activated. It will be enabled in 'Full Edit'.
You can check the mode by looking at the right top corner of Phoshop Elements Editor. The orange tab will be showing the edit mode. If 'Full Edit mode' is selected and then also you are seeing the same problem, please get back to me. Otherwise just change the mode from Guided to Full, Panorama option will start to work. Please reply me that this solution worked for you or not....

  • How to open Photomerge Panorama in PSE 12. The option is not available when I choose File/New.

In PSE 12 (iOS) I can't find "Photomerge Panorama". The tutorial says it should be available in the menu File/New. Yet it isn't.

It's now under the Enhance menu in the Expert mode in the pse 12 editor.
Edit>Photomerge in the pse 12 organizer.

  • Why is 'save bin as an album' grayed out in pse 13?

I'm trying to save my opened files in my bin as an album and the option is grayed out. I'm using pse 13. I don't have this problem in pse 11.

Thanks, Barbara! That did the trick. I was in expert mode but I clicked on 'guided' then clicked on 'expert' again and it showed up.
