PSE 11 catalog backup does not complete

I am having a problew with my first full backup after importing 27000 photos.My catalog organizer in psa 11 also shows over a 1000 movies from adobe premier elements software which seems to have a common thread between them. The backup stops at 44% the 3 times I have tried. Just a beginner with both software.

TS3992 Icloud backup does not completed after install IOS 8

I recently installed iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s (32 GB). Prior to the install, I had just enough storage to backup on iCloud. However, after the install, it is saying "[a]n additional 3.1 GB of storage is required. This is puzzling because under Manage Storage it says that I have 4.3 GB worth of backups (3.6 for iPhone and 731 MB for iPad), which is within the 5 GB of free storage. In addition when I try to Backup my Iphone several times show me that the Backup is not completed and the last back up was before install IOS 8(17 Sept)
it is probably something to do with the iOS 8 update. This could be the case, although I downloaded and installed iOS 8 via Iphone wireless update, so nothing (I'm guessing?) should have been downloaded onto the phone.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having this problem too and I saw on another board that it is because it is keeping the copy from ios7 instead of replacing it w/the new one and that the solution is to delete the old backup. I have not verified that this is the correct answer yet as I do not know how to do that, but at least it may get you one step closer.

Lenovo RnR backup does not complete succesfully

Hi, I have version 6 of thinkvantage toolbox and RnR will not backup successfully to hard drive or usb device. Windows 7 performs a backup with no problems. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? Thanks Diane

The most common reason for the merge to fail is lack of free disk space (however this is not the cause for you since you have tons of free space according to the log you posted).
The second most common reason for the merge to fail is some internal corruption of one of more of the backups that are being merged together, and it's almost impossible to know what caused this corruption. It could be that a backup was interrupted, or a virus scanner interfered and quarantined a backup file, or a disk error (these are some of the problems I have seen in the past).
When a merge fails and it's not due to lack of free space, it means that you may not be able to restore your most recent backup should you need to in the future (e.g., something is wrong). You can delete one or all of your backups (including the base backup) and start over. My recommendation for you would be to delete all of the incremental backups (starting with the most recent backup first), leave the base backup, and then immediately take a new backup so that you are protected.
I'm also curious to know where you are taking backups to (e.g. USB, network, etc)? If you want to zip up the contents of your c:\swshare folder and attach it here, I'd be happy to look over the logs to see if something sticks out at me.

My time machine backup does not complete

The error message is
Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to "<our server name>"
The backup disk image "Volumes/Backup/<MyComputerName mini.sparsebundle" is already in use.
Latest successful backup: January 17, 2014

On your Server (assuming it's OS X Server), turn off the Time Machine Service then turn it back on. This is what I have done in the past when this happens.

Merge catalog function process starts and runs but does not complete

I am trying to merge my laptop catalog with my desktop catalog. Both machines are LR5.4 and OSX 10.9.3.
I am following the documented LR process. The merge starts, runs and looks like it completes but the new data (photos and catalog information) does not show up in desktop (merged) catalog.
When I try it again, the dialog box indicates that the new files have been exported (as they are no longer highlighted).
I can not locate any files (by name) on the desktop that have moved from the laptop.
What do I do next?

Problem:

Any help that you can provide in helping my iPhone accurately sync with iPhoto and iTunes will be greatly appreciated.
Symptoms:
1)   Sync: It’s not completing the sync. Below, I’ve provided all of my settings from the iTunes Summary tab so that you might tell me if I’ve selected any incorrect options. I prefer to sync the “old school” way – by connecting to the computer – as opposed to syncing over the cloud. Perhaps this is what’s causing the problem? Here is a list of the steps displayed in the iTunes window as the sync progresses:

2)   Photos: I've selected only certain of my iPhoto albums to sync to my iPhone. All of the albums are correct/complete in iPhoto. All of the albums are listed on my iPhone, both before and after the sync, but the albums are empty (no actual photos) before and after the sync. Perhaps this is tied to the fact that the sync isn’t completing, but because “importing photos” is one of the steps that the incomplete sync displays, I don’t know.
3)   Apps: When I launch iTunes and click on the Apps folder under the Library listing, then click on the Updates tab, iTunes searches for any Apps needing to be updated and provides a list. If I click on Update All, the Apps are successfully updated in iTunes. But, when I plug in my iPhone so that the updates will transfer to the apps on my iPhone, the updates don’t transfer to the apps on my iPhone and those apps still reflect that they need updating on the iPhone.
Other Potential Pertinent Info:
The flash memory hard drive on my MacBook Air recently died (perhaps a month or two ago). Apple had emailed me about a known issue and literally the next day, my MacBook Air crashed. I installed a new flash memory drive and re-installed everything from a backup off of an external hard drive. Everything seems to be working fine; it recreated accurately all of my software and data, including iPhoto and iTunes, the pictures and songs (respectively) for which are stored on that hard drive, as opposed to being on the flash memory in the MacBook Air itself. However, I don’t recall if the start of the sync problem described herein started happening at the same time that I replaced the flash memory drive. All I know is that the computer is working perfectly in all respects and that even as the sync is failing, it at least says that it’s doing the right things and looking in the right places (e.g., the list of albums on my iPhone matches the list of albums in iTunes, etc.).

You need to download iTunes on your computer. iOS 6 requires the latest version of iTunes which is 10.7.

Is there a way to only catalog backup set not in the catalog? "CATALOG START WITH" generates double entry.

The DB version is 11.1.0.7.
The "CATALOG START WITH" not only catalog backup set that are not in the RMAN catalog, but also catalog a second copy for files that are already in the catalog.
Files are not a second copy; they are the same file in the same directory.
Having two copies in the catalog, through an error when deleting explicitly the backups.
We have to add the force clause to avoid the error.
RMAN> delete FORCE backup tag 'offsite-1';
The force clause ignores any I/O error.
The delete is part of our scheduled offsite backup script, which returns a false positive error when the force clause is ommited.
I don't want the force clause, in order to be notify if the backup set that are expected to be on disk are no more there, e.g., if someone had deleted files manually at the OS level bypassing rman.
Is there a way to only catalog backup set not in the catalog?
or May be remove the copy #2 entry from the catalog?

Just repeate your demo and answer Yes.
Even if he might have replied with "YES" then also, the RMAN search for the files which it can recognize as a valid rman backup file. Else it would show the list of files which are not recognized by RMAN as a valid file.

About the RMAN catalog, it will not catalog the same file twice. It will only catalog the files which are not known to the database.

Restore as New (no backup)... then Re-Sync your Content.
Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer

Exchange 2010 "event id 403/401 The physical consistency check" Backups does not work...Critical!!

Instance 1: The physical consistency check has completed, but one or more errors were detected. The consistency check has terminated with error code of -106 (0xffffff96).
Event id 403;
Instance 1: The physical consistency check successfully validated 629126 out of 1110272 pages of database '\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy33\exchangedb\global\global.edb'. Because some database pages were either not validated or failed validation,
the consistency check has been considered unsuccessful.

From your error description, I recommend you do the following steps for troubleshooting:
1. Please run CHKDSK and restart server.
2. Run a Database level Mailbox repair request.

Differential backup failed because old backup does not exist

Hi,
We scheduled the backups of TFS through the TFS Administration console.
* Full each sunday at 18:00
* Differnetial each evening at 22:00
* Transactional each hour
* rentention time 8 days
The differential back-ups of Monday (20-4) and Thuesday (21-4) did go well. But for some reason the differential of Wednesday and Thursday didn't work out.

Hi RemkoP,
Based on your description, you can check whether you have a full backup file in your backup folder. Differential backups are backups of the changes that have occured since your last full database backup. If there no full backups, then we cannot perform a
differential backup.
You might do a full backup for the database, then do the differential backup. If you have any other concerns, please elaobrate more details about your scenario and reproduce steps.

LR5 backup will not complete

My LR4 backups took forever (130,000+ images) on a 3-year old iMac (2.93 Gig i7 Intel w/ 8 Gig RAM and OS 10.8.4), but it DID complete the backup procedure. Unchecking Optimization and Integrity Check sped up the backups considerably. Upgraded to LR5 and not backups WILL NOT COMPLETE, regardless of what is checked off or not. Longest time I've waited so far is 30 hours.
Backups have been tried to internal Mac HD, an external 2 Gig, an external 1 Gig, and a 10 Gig Drobo array. ALL fail to complete.
I need help. I am a fairly high-end user, so ask any technical questions necessary and I can provide isight and answers.

Where are you backing up FROM? I would think internal to internal has the most chance in finishing as long as you have space. Also, I assume you mean 1TB and 2 TB not Gig.
On Windows, which may be different, I had a backup of my catalog on an external drive not complete if my free space on my C drive (boot/system drive) was under maybe 2GB or some such thing even though the backup and optimize have nothing to do with the C drive. Once I freed up the space then the backup completed. In my case, the backup actually just aborted most of the way through, rather than taking forever as yours seems to and this was with LR4.x. I’m not saying this is your problem, but it’s worth a shot to make sure your boot drive has enough space to hold your catalog file even if it shouldn’t be involved.
How large is your catalog database, the .lrcat file?

I'm facing an issue wherein SC is being created as PR at the backend system and since there's no customization for a PR document, "Interval RQ of number range object REQREQ does not exist " is being ouputted.
Could someone help me on the cause of this problem?
When I went to BBP_PD to check the SC, an error "Catalog (catalog id) does not exist. Check entries" is appearing.

Lastly, this error is only appearing on the new material code that I added recently, If I create an SC using the current material code there's no error.

Please check that SPRO settings have been maintained in
Supplier Relationship Management- SRM Server- Cross-Application Basic Settings- Define Objects in Backend system(PR PO Res.)
can be used in either the purchasing group or catagory id field to denote all entries for the object.

Have you tried walking it into the nearest Apple Store and asking for assistance there...?
I'm guessing you don't have Apple Care on it.

The problem is with version 10.4.1. I had to reload 10.3 to get it to work. The recommendation from a previous poster worked for me. Here was their list of steps:
Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall
2. Uninstall the following Apple programs in the following order:
     a. iTunes
     b. QuickTime
     c. Apple Software Update
     d. Apple Mobile Devices Support
     e. Bonjour
     f. Apple Appllcation Support
3. Reboot PC
4. Find, Download and Install iTunes 10.3 (you can find it at FileHippo.com)
If you start iTunes now you will get an error message saying that the current iTunes library was created by a newer version of iTunes. To correct this:
5. Go to your Music>iTunes folder and delete the "iTunes Library.itl" database file
6. Within this iTunes folder find and open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and locate the most recently dated "iTunes Library (date).itl" database file.
7. Copy and Paste this file back into the iTunes folder
8. Rename this "iTunes Library (date).itl" file by removing the date. It should say "iTunes Library.itl"
9. Reboot PC

Visual Approval Action does not complete

Hello,
I am using Visual Approval Callable Object in my Application but when the approver goes into the workitem to approve it ...the action does not complete and he gets the following message...on clicking on Approve/Reject button:
"Cannot complete action: The activity could not be read"
When I test the CO in designtime ...it works fine....and i have used visual approval CO at other places also....it works fine there...only at this one it gives an issue...i tried recreating it ....and also tried to put in a different block...but still comes with the same error....
Any help would be highly appreciated...

Thanks for the reply....I have checked the parameter mapping and the email address is also setup which is passed as a Context parameter for the Action processor ...but still gives the same error....
Please help.
