PSE 11 Editor Workspace setup - new user ?

When I first installed PSE 11, the workspace was similar to the screen shot below, and I really liker thesetup, found it intuitive ans welcoming to use:
When I recently pened the program the workspace changed to this:
I thought maybe the "preferences were changesd accidentally, tried resetting them, and even reinstalling, but still the same "different" workspace in Editor.
Can anyone assist / explain and tell me how to set up / run PSE in the first format?

Elements 10 was similar to most other advanced editing softwares. Priority to the image, to its colors and tones. Tools must not be disturbing to evaluate the image. Text menus should not fill the editing space. In other words, a professional tool for people working with big, calibrated displays in controlled ambient light.
You know what ? Adobe had so many complaints from people :
- with not so good eyesight
- working on small displays (notebooks)
- used with bright and colored softwares,
that they decided to change everything to put the priority on the tools, texts and menus to make Elements editor a common amateur interface.
The result is not perfect (mostly, the interface lacks smart customization to be able to work both on big displays as well as minimal ones). Most former complainers were very happy, others like you and me were disappointed.
I don't think a forum poll would be representative : the new interface is clearly targetted at new users with different needs and practice. I do hope that future versions can add some customization to help advanced users to keep the focus on the image space rather than on the invading panels (photo bin, tool palette...)

We just installed New ERP 6. Trying to setup new user. We are getting the following error.

    In Ecc6 default client is 001.But if you try to create user in 000 it gives that error.
    Basically we have to create company address first.In 001 you cannot find this error.
    Create company address for first time, from next time onwards it will not give that error.

Setup new user

I want to set up a new user with read and execute privileges for an interface/procedure and package...but i am not able to figure out the profiles I need to setup for this......
I tried giving him CONNECT,DESIGNER etc...but whenever I try to log in with tht user info...I get the error message..

Ichat setup new user

I'm a new MacBook user and I would like to set up ichat so I can communicate with a friend that is using Vista. My first question is what is the best account type to set up on ichat. Second, my Vista friend wants to use Skype. Are they compatible? If not, what is the best one to use on Vista? Any help is greatly appreciated.

iChat can have and use different types of IDS from different sources.
These can be an AIM name (AOL Instant Messenger), or an older @mac.com Apple Name or a current MoblieMe ID which ends @me.com which has replaced the Apple @mac service.

MobileMe can be free for the Trial Period but requires a Credit Card and an Active selection to discontinue before the 60 days is up if you don't want to pay.
You can also use a Jabber ID from a Jabber Server.
These look like email IDs. Only some servers allow you to Register via a web page and often need a third Party app like Psi or AdiumX to register via a Jabber able application.
Google run a Jabber server and you can use a GoogleMail ID once you have logged into Google and your Account and enabled GoogleTalk (There is no Mac App but the name will work in iChat).

Final Cut Pro 7 initial setup settings (DSLR user) new user

Hello Guys,
I just bought Final Cut Pro 7 and installed it. Can anyone give me some tips on how to do an initial setup or how I should set up my Final Cut Pro. Scratch disk, ext.
How can I optimize it for HD DSLR? I mainly shoot with Canon 5d and Canon7d DSLR with 24frames per second and I will importing and editing and capturing footage from these DSLR, how should I set the preferences and settings be on my final cut pro 7 best optimal use for these cameras.
I also heard that I should be converting all the videos to pro res 422 before editing, so It can render faster or something like that. Can some please explain that pro res conversion part.
I am also a new user, I have little knowledge on fcp, so please bare with my newbie questions. Thanks so much.

Thanks Nick for the links, I'm actually a video guy, been doing corporate av video for concerts, professional sports, broadway theatre, and corporate evens, and also do my own videography on the side. But I am more of a shooter, I have used FCP in the past awhile back but I had a partner that did all of the editing. But I have used it FCP in the past, can't remember much though.
Does anyone know which apple pro res format is best for DSLR editing. I see there is 422, 422(proxy), 422(HQ), 422(LT) and 4444.

Setup Multi-users on new Intel Mac Mini

Hello all
I am an XP PC user investigating whether to purchase a new Intel based Dual core Mac Mini.
Can someone help with the following questions please.
1) I have a family using our current XP based PC and each has their own user login.
Can I setup multiple users on the Mac Mini so they would each have their own login ?
2) I would like my wife to have her own email account as well as me.
Can this also be setup on the new Mac Mini ?

To clear things up a little for you:
1) Yes you can setup individual logins - as many as you need in fact. Each seperate account has its own "directory" on the hard drive which is safe and secure to stop any prying eyes. You can also customize it just like you would Windows XP however there are tons of extra features to hand. You can set parental controls with the click of a button and you can even prevent the kids / teens from messing up the configurations by restricting what they can access through their user areas.
2) OS X Boasts Mail which is Apples tidier equivelant to Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express if you like. It can handle multiple accounts with different service providers just so long as you have the POP and SMTP addresses for your providers email server, and your email address and password to hand.
If you only have one email account between the two of you and you feel that you can work well with it, then you can effectively direct emails to one another by creating "Smart Mailboxes" which split any incoming emails to that one address, into criteria organised folders i.e. one with emails related to you, one with emails related to your wife.

You need to set the option to create a mobile account using the Directory Utility app.

Forgot password on my ibook g4 used command s to setup a new user account but now everytime i start it, it starts in setup account how do i fix it

i have a apple ibook g4 and dont know the password so i followed the command s directions to enter single user mode and fsk to set up a new user account adter it rebooted       it reboots into new user setup were i have followed all the steps and completed them    then a restart is required only evrytime it boots back up im forced to setup again.   i was able to use my ibook before because it logged in at start up but i was able to upgrade or make any real changes because i couldnt remember password
so now im even farther from being able to use my ibook    does anyone have a fix i do not have any disc so cant try that unless you coukd also provide a place to get it

Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
2. wait for terminal show
3. release keys
4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
5. press enter
6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
7. press enter
8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
9. press enter
This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.
Also, without the discs, look at Mac OS X Tip - No Password, No Root, No CD? No Problem.

Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
   1. Reboot
   2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
   3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
          * mount -uw /
          * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
          * shutdown -h now
   4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!

Oh yeah! Plus New User setup forms from HR with wrong spelling as well, and you get ahead of the game and go and setup every account they need, login as them to their new machine, an email goes out to all users asking them to welcome the new start, the GAL goes out to all remote Outlook users and everything - then they turn up for work on their first day and call you to say their name is spelt wrong. Oh the pain, the anger, the postal feeling, then... ah, the coffee - that's better.....
And it all begins again.

Customisation of New User setup pages.

Is it possible to customise the New User setup screens/forms? If not, is it possible to add few more screens to capture more details?

It believe it is not possible to adjust these screens in the current version of Portal. The database packages that build these screens are wrapped.
But we managed to create our own screens using the Portal API package (see PDK) that edits the user (wwsec_api.modify_portal_user). You can create an application component (form ) that is based on a procedure. It seems to work.
I don't know if this also works for the creation of users (wwsec_api.add_portal_user).

I have the same problem that you answered firstly, it's a nightmare! I did what you said and I ran: studio5me-win-en.exe -is:javahome c:\j2sdk1.4.2_01. A file download appears with only the 'open' (not 'save') option availabe. When I press open, the old message appears (i.e. -is:javahome <JAVA HOME DIR> ). Please can somebody help me I desperately want to get this program running. I would appreciate it if you would reply to my email address ( [email protected] ). However, if that is not possible, I will still be grateful for your reply to this message.

I also suddenly have a 'switch user' on my windows logon screen, have files appearing and disappearing, see someone logging in with a temp profile, then a manual
profile, then an automatic profile (created from the profile examples given), logons between midnight and 2am, User Profiles Service 3, 4, 1, 5, 67, 5 and 2 over a 5 minute period at 1:10am on 2/3, etc.

Gnerally speaking, the events you list above just sytem service or application need to use system resource, then Event Viewer would record their activity. You can use Filter(filter event ID, such as 4624) to check, you will find plenty of events like new
account logon.
About your another question, you can access to User Managment to check your sytem current user, if there is any other new user has been created.
Win+X, choose Computer Managment, Local Users and Groups

Run Time Error when attempting to use pse 10 editor

While using the editor in PSE 10, it suddenly stopped working, giving me a "run time error" message. I have created a new user account, created restore points on my PC, attempted to change the preference files, all to no avail. The software came installed on my PC, so I'm unable to do an uninstall and reinstall as I don't have the installation CD. The PC manufacturer and Adobe support have been unable to help (neither providing me with a product key). Can someone help me fix the "run time error"? Until it's fixed, the product is unusable.

Can you share the exact error message or probably a screenshot which might help us reviewing it and suggest you any solution.

PSE 9 Editor CRASH (Mac)

Hey all! I need a little help.
While I am trying to edit a photo I often select 'Place', 'Open', and adjust the layers. Since early this morning I have selected 'Place' to import a picture to my canvas in Editor. The program immediately closes and reads "An unexpected error occured." I then re-open and try selecting 'Open' to start editing a photograph not from the Organizer. The program immediately closes and reads "An unexpecte derror occured."
I have reset or deleted the preferences in PSE 9 Editor from the Welcome Screen on my Macbook. I have also renamed the Twain file name, and adjusted the RAM used by my software. I have also updated to PSE 9.0.3. Nothing has worked so far, and I am very confused as to what I should do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

PSE is a 32 bit application, so you can up the ram as far as it will go and it will still not address more than 3.2GB. However, ram-related crashes are almost unknown on macs (if your mac can run a current version of OS X it has enough ram). At this point I would uninstall via the uninstaller, then check around for any left over bits and bobs, and create a new admin user and reinstall there. See how it runs in that account before you switch back to your regular account.

Problems loading Elements 10 editor workspace on Windows 8

I recently reinstalled Elements 10 on my new Windows 8 laptop, but can't get the editor workspace to load. I get the message: unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry but this error is unrecoverable.
I contacted Adobe chat support, but they were unable to resolve the issue. Does anyone else have a solution?

The laptop is a 64 bit. As far as I can tell the installation was complete - the icon appeared on the desktop and opens the welcome screen. The only option I have when I run setup.exe is to uninstall the program. I tried to install it on another laptop running Windows 7 to see if the problem might be with the laptop running Windows 8, but I came up with the same message: "unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry but this error is unrecoverable."
Re. your previous question about PhototshopElementsEditor.exe. Would it be possible to copy it from my PC to the laptop?
