PSE 11 link to PE 10

How do I link Photoshop Elements 11 with Premiere Elements 10

Thanks. This information is helpful. I have upgraded each version since PSE 2 and Photo Album. Was not impressed enough with PSE 11 trial to pay for upgrade to PRE 11 and I will stick with my PSE10 and PRE 10 combination.

  • "No CD/DVD drive Available"

My luck with Elements has been down right rotten here lately ! I have been having trouble re-sizing pictures and now that I've just about got that figured out and  I'm ready to burn them to a DVD  I get a message telling me that there is "No CD/DVD Drive Available" !
Ok,no need for me to beat around the bush I have no idea what this means....I mean..... I do know that I have burned videos onto DVD's and made many music CD's on my laptop in the past with no problem, but I have never even attempted to burn any photos . So.... is this telling me that I need some special Driver in order to burn photos to a DVD ? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge ! You folks have been a huge help in my PSE education !

Here's some additional info about trying to solve your problems. In some cases CD burning problems can be caused by "filters", which are located in the Windows system registry. Here's a page with this information;  http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic137666.html#post815753 as well as additional links for reference. Problems caused by registry filters normally cause system wide trouble with the optical drives, so I'm providing this for general knowledge as much as a solution.
PSE links to system functions by files called "dll (s)"  (dynamic library links), they can be damaged or corrupted in various ways. There isn't much sense in trying to repair the PSE installation via these files. There are too many, and I can't tell you with which one the problem might exist.
Since you say that PSE has been giving you headaches in general recently, it might be time to try a reinstall of the program.
An un/reinstall may solve your problems, and won't damage or lose any of your catalog information. With that said, before you begin, write your tags and metadata info to the pictures. That file path is "File" (top menu bar) > "Write keyword tag and properties info to photos". If you haven't done this already, it's best to apply the data by selecting groups of photos rather than selecting all the photos at once. Too many photos selected at once might possibly crash the program, and in smaller groups you have the reassurance that the task has been accomplished.
If you decide to attempt a reinstall, completely disable your anti virus program before you begin.
I should add that sometimes malware infections can cause random problems with existing software. In an effort to be thorough, it might be prudent to do some scans with your security software before you begin. It can't hurt. Mr. John Ellis has stated that Norton security products in particular can have some adverse effects on a PSE installation. (At least I hope I've quoted him correctly).
Feel free to post back or begin a new thread, if you need any more info or assistance.

  • Can't open raw files in 32 bit CS4

Am using Vista 64 bit OS and because I recently purchased Nik Software's Complete Ed was necessary to change from initial set up of PS CS4 64 bit to 32 for their usage compatability. Had Camera Raw 5.0 on 64 bit version, copied camera raw 8bi plug in file format and placed in correct file format folder for the 32 bit version of PS. ...sounds easy enough...but when I attempt to open a raw file in PS or bridge it will not open and get message - Could not complete your request because of a program error.  Camera raw does show up and only once under the About Plug In submenu. Have tried Purge Cache option. Can still open raw files as always in 64 bit version, save and reopen 32bit version to continue but hoping for solution to eleminate that hassle. Thanks for your needed advice!

Plugin's have to be rewritten for a 64-bit environment so copying the 64-bit ACR to the 32-bit folder won't work.  You need the 32-bit version of ACR in the 32-bit CS4 folder.
I'm not sure if the ACR 5.6 updater will work to update both versions, or if you need to download and install the plugin's manually.
You can get to the manual install ZIP by following the PSE link near the top of the regular ACR 5.6 page linked on the updates page:

  • Organizer in Photoshop Elements 11 crashes

I chose wrong directory for backup, and now the program cannot find any file.  Is there a file I can delete externally, and just start the process all over?
Using Win 8 with Elements 11.  Program seems to crash while searching for files.  Frustrated.

You could try to reset the preferences file by doing this:
    1) Press and keep pressing CTRL + ALT + Shift
    2) Click on PSE link to launch it  (make sure the three keys are still pressed)
    3) You will see a dialog box asking you whether you want to delete the preferences file
    4) Click yes
    5) It should start normally.
    6) Quit/Exit  it before doing anything
    7) Now launch it again in the normal way to see if it has fixed anything (if at all!!!!!!!!)
    Good luck and post back.

  • Can not install Camera Raw 5.6

I just recently purchased a Canon 7d so I had to update my CS4 in order to view the raw files in CS4. Everytime I try and to install Camera Raw 5.6 it keeps saying that installation failed. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

You can try doing a manual install using the PSE link near the top of the main ACR 5.6 page and then find the CS4-specific instructions on that manual install page.
The ACR update is linked from:

  • Is it possible to make clickable links in PSE 11?

    Hello!
I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I have created a project in PSE 11- it's meant to be a booklet, and I would like to add clickable links to the project, by way of live links, as well as making parts of the project clickable. The goal is to make it a Tumblr post, and save the multiple pages as an Adobe Acrobat pdf file.
My weak Google-fu tells me that I need to use the slicing tool, but I don't think that is available in Elements? Is there any way around this?
I would really appreciate any advice!
    Thank you

No, sorry. PSE is primarily a photo editor with limited text capabilities, meant more for putting captions on photos and that sort of thing. It is not really intended for use as a page layout program.

  • Can I transfer a Raw Photo to PSE 9 with a direct link and keep changes

I have limited expertise in all of this stuff so please understand.
I recently upgraded to PSE 9 because I bought the Nikon D7000.
Unfortunately I have had nothing but nightmares with the upgrade.
PSE has eliminated BRIDGE and I can no longer open a RAW file in PSE 9 from the camera.
They have something called Organizer but the Adobe Forum is full of issues about it.
I have found it useless and it may stem from both having a MAC and the D7000.
    *Here is my question :*
I can use Nikon Transfer to Nikon View NX2 to open the RAW files.
However if I make any changes in View they do not carry over to PSE and ACR (Adobe Camera RAW)
    AND
I cannot find a way to have a direct link from View NX2 to PSE 9 and ACR.
I have to drag and drop onto the desktop and then drag and drop into PSE / ACR.
*If I purchase Aperture ($80.00) can I make changes in Aperture and then have a direct link to PSE 9 if I need to make changes or adjustments in PSE and keep the RAW changes from Aperture ?*
I hope I made my dilemma clear.
    Thanks,
    Greg

Your question pivots about several issues, each of which will bear on what you end up doing.
Briefly, what you'll find is that Aperture does its own RAW conversion (and does it well). You can follow that with either of the following:
    - use PSE9 as an external editor, in which case Aperture creates a copy of the converted RAW file in either TIFF or PSD format (you choose), sends it to PSE9, and receives the changed file back. At this point you have two images in Aperture: your converted image (with Aperture adjustments, if added) and your externally-edited image. Note that your original RAW file is never changed, and remains available.
    - using Aperture, export a copy of your RAW original, and then open it in any program you want. In this case, that program will need to be (or include) a RAW converter. And Aperture will not track the file in any way at all once it is exported.
... can I make changes in Aperture and then have a direct link to PSE 9 if I need to make changes or adjustments in PSE and ...
So that's "Yes" to the first part and ...
... and keep the RAW changes from Aperture ?
... I'm not sure what you mean to specify in this part.

  • Link PSE 10 and Lightroom 4

I cannot hand over photos from Lightroom 4 to PSE10 to process there further (Mac). Tried almost everything (with formats...) but they will not show up in PSE. No problem loading photos directly from database, though. Any idea? Thanks.

    Thanks again.
The problem lies between your steps 1 and 2:
I select the respective photo in Lightroom,
chose "process in…. Photoshop Elements 10",
    select the option "Process copy…",
the copy gets generated (visible as a second PSD thumbnail in Lightroom),
    PSE window opens up
    but the window remains blank.
I am using "PSD, Adobe RGB and 8 bit" currently as defaults (as I think that are the least "challenging"  settings) but tried also everything else that came to my mind - no success so far.
    Kind regards from Munich,
    bikefranco

Works OK for me; how are you opening the files. You normally make the round trip from Lightroom as follows:
    1) Ctrl+E in the Library to export selected image with develop settings (I choose PSD)
    2) Edit in Elements; then Ctrl+S to replace (overwrite) Lightroom export copy
    3) Ctrl+W to close in Elements and update Lightroom thumbnail.

  • PSE 11 thumbnails lost file links

Using PSE11 in Windows 7, when opening the catalogue (which has some 14 000 photos) only a handful of the thumbnails at the front-end of the catalogue are linked to their files.  The remainder are unlinked.  After relinking them, the links are lost again when I next open PSE, necessitating relinking again.  Has anyone a solution to offer please?   Darrell

    Hello Michel
Thank you for your prompt reply offering help.
    I can confirm the following:
    ·         All of my photos are stored on an external hard drive connected to drive H on my laptop.
    ·         I connected the external drive to the correct drive on my laptop – H; confirmed by Windows Explorer
    ·         I opened PSE Organiser which was populated with the thumbnails – some 14 000
    ·         I list the thumbnails ranked newest first
    ·         The first approx. 460 showed the photos; the remainder were blank
    ·         I have randomly checked the properties of numerous thumbnails individually, both those displaying the photos and those which do not – they all show the correct drive letter – H
    ·         In some cases the thumbnail displayed the missing file ? in the top left-hand corner
    ·         In others it did not, but after attempting to open the thumbnail and then close it again, the ? is displayed
    ·         In any event the photo was not displayed in each case
On past occasions when working with this problem (it has never been resolved – I have left it alone for a while) I have taken the following action:
    ·         Optimised the catalogue
    ·         Optimised the thumbnail cache
    ·         Repaired the catalogue
    ·         Re-indexed visual similarity data and repaired it also
No errors were reported in these actions.
I have downloaded your psedbtool but have not run it because you indicate in your notes thereto that it did not work on PSE 9, and as you know I have v11 installed.  I am not sure about attempting running the tool??
Do you perhaps have any other suggested actions for me to pursue please?
    Cheers
    Darrell

  • Linking up PSE 11 to iPhoto

    Hello,
I use a Mac, and I’m trying to link up my iPhoto with PSE 11 Editor. I’d like to edit photos in PSE 11 Editor, while storing and managing them in iPhoto.
I sought help in this forum before and was sent a link with instruction about linking up the two programs and was sent the following instructions to establish the connection:
    iPhoto>Preferences>General>Edit photo>Application>PSE Editor>Support Files>PSE Editor.
But Preferences>General doesn’t provide an Edit photo option. I got Edit photo under the Advanced tab, and selected PSE 11. The panel doesn’t provide an option for linking up iPhoto to PSE 11 Editor. In fact it doesn’t provide any options.
I would appreciate any tips for connecting my iPhoto to my PSE 11 Editor.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Surma

Thanks for your response, Barbara. Yes, I get to the panel on which "in Photoshop Elements Editor" is selected and highlighted. But it doesn't provide further options, telling me what I should do next to link up iPhoto to PSE 11 Editor. No "OK" or "Next" button. I'm stuck there! Thanks. Surma

Sorry, but I don't understand what the problem is. When you click that menu to expand it you should be able to choose any program as your external editor:

  • PSE 9 content download link

I purchased PSE 9 and PRE 9 along with the PLUS package.  The problem is that I lost the link to the PSE 9 plus content downloads.  I received it once, but the download failed and I lost the link.  Can someone point me to the right place to download the plus content for PSE 9?

Raeeds I am sorry there is no public download available for Acrobat 9 Standard.  If you purchased Acrobat 9 Standard from Adobe directly and choose the download option at the time of purchase then the installation files will be located under your account.  You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.

  • PSE 8 where can I find a download link?

Hi I have had purchased PSE 8 and have been using it until my computer crashed and needed replacing.  I have now discovered the original disk is no longer useable as I suspect kids were using it as a toy.  I have tried using disk cleaners/polishers etc. but still am unable to get the computer to read from it.  Does anyone know where I can download a copy of PSE 8?
I have come accross these posts but none of them were useful to me:
    Thread 1
    Thread 2
    Thread 3
    Any help would be appriciated!
    Joanne

    >now discovered the original disk is no longer useable
I have read that Adobe will, as long as the supply lasts, replace bad media
Since PE9 has been out "about" a year, I will GUESS Adobe will no longer have any PE8 discs
But, you need to contact Adobe... nobody at this user to user forum can help with replacements

  • Help Upgrading from Trial version to Full version of PSE 10. Buy Now Link in my Editor not working

Went to convert from my free trial and purchase full version. When I hit the "Buy Now" button within my Editor, nothing happens. How do I proceed to upgrade? Thank you for your time and help!

[email protected] I would recommend purchasing the software directly from our website.  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements.html  After you make the purchase you can then enter the serial number you received into the trial.
