PSE 11 Organiser won't open

After a bit of a struggle with the installation of PSE11(via trial then entering authentication) , then successfully downloading photos, I now find PSE 11 Organiser doesn't open. After the fraught install, this new problem is a new hurdle.
Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, please can someone give me some simple instructions to rectify?
Thanks,  Alison.

Try these solutions to see if any of these work.
If none of them works, let me know.
Solution1:
Close Elements. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file. Click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution2:
In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution3:
In case that does not work too, you may try this.
Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.

~V

  • PSE 11 won't open files

When I try to open afile with Pse 11 I get an error message that says file is locked or I don't have permissions.
I did find that files were marked as read only but changing it doesn't seem to  change things. I have full pemissions to edit these files
    but still won't open.
The same files will open in Windows Photo Viewer and MS Office Picture Manager.
This seems to have happened since I re-installed Windows 7

    Hi dj_paige
    Error message below
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 11
Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access priveleges.
Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.
I have tried opening by double clicking in Windows Explorer and by selecting open with..
PSE will not run as I get the same error message when I try to open the program.
I can open the Organiser and select files but when I try to open in the Editor I get the same error message.

  • PSE 11 won't open CR2 files from Canon PowerShot G15.

I was interested in PSE 11 so I could use ACR 7.x to open the raw (CR2) files from my new Canon PowerShot G15 camera--but even after updating the files, PSE 11 won't recognize my camera!  It's still not listed in the group of supported cameras on the Adobe website(s).  This camera has been out for a few months (at least!), so it's unbelievable that Adobe still won't support those files.  They only go through the G12, not up to G15.

  • PSE 10 won't open a 2nd time

I just installed PSE 10 (editor and organizer) on Windows 7 machine.  I set the welcome screen not to display and go straight to editor.  Editor opens once but won't open again unless I restart the machine.  I looked in task manager and it seems to hang up there (does not show it's using any memory but just sitting there) once I hit end process then I can open it again.  2nd quirk is that when I hit the house in upper right corner to access the welcome screen (in both editor and organizer) it will not come up.
This is the 1st time I've ever had any problems with an elements program when loading it.  I've read some of the troubleshooting documents but am not comfortable with changing msconfig or the like just to get this to run.  I removed Elements 9 prior to the installing of this and loaded a NIK add on after installing PSE10 which seemed to add on ok.
Anyone have any ideas before I return this to Costco and go back to 9?

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor.
    The Editor's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    The Organizer's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

  • Elements 11 organiser won't open

Wjhen I plug in my Nikon D300s the downloader won't open, but when my D80 is plugged in it opens automatically.

Typically Adobe supports only current version. So, I am not expecting you to get Adobe troubleshooting on your Premiere Elements 11 (non current version) issue. You can try, but....
Have you tried for another set of installation files and installation of them after an uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall using the new installation files?
    https://www.piriform.com/mac/ccleaner
If you purchased from Adobe, you should be able to get another download of your purchased files from http://www.adobe.com and your Account/your Orders.
You can also download installation files from the following web site and insert your purchased serial number into them at installation.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Be sure to read very carefully "Note: Very Important Message" at that web site, otherwise you will get hit with an Access Denied message.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.

  • PSE 13 won't open.

I've installed the PSE13 upgrade (I currently have PSE9) but it won't open. When I sign in all I get is the revolving squares. It seems to be in a loop or stalled. I've downloaded twice and rebooted twice but still no luck.

You can try the steps mentioned on Registering, logging in, account management and see if it works

  • PSE 10 won't open "CREATE" tab - stalls at "Initializing" (Mac OSX 10.6.8)

    Hi everyone,
I just purchased a copy of Photo Shop Elements & Premiere Elements 10 and can't get PSE to work properly.  I can't use the "Create" tab - which is really annoying because it is the main reason I wanted PSE 10 for...  So far I've tried 3 clean installs without any success - it always stalls at "initializing."
My computer meets the minimum system requirements:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.54Ghz, 100gb of free hdd space, 4GB RAM and OSX 10.6.8 running.
The rest of the program seems to be ok - but I can't access that tab... I'm beyond frustrated by now...
Can anyone help me out here? I'd really appreciate it...
    Thanks!

Hi Barbara! The Creat tab does open in organizer - but when you select an option ex. photo calendar, it switches to pse and it stalls at initializing...
I tried EVERY fix suggested on the link you posted and nothing worked - except creating a new user account. I just created a new Admin account and It works!!!
Don't know what is wrong with mine though...  I'd have to copy my photo library to the new account which is kind of troublesome and a pain to do... Plus I'll be having to switch from one account to the other to access the rest of my content (migrating all of my content to the new account will be VERY hard to do and take even more time)... Oh well - at least I get to use all of the functions in PSE!
Thanks so much for your help!

  • PSE 7 Won't open photo  in Quick Editor from the Organizer using Vista

I just installed the PSE 7 on Vista and am unable to open a photo in the quick editor from the organizer. It doesn't matter if its a raw file or jpg file. My ram memory is 3.0 gb and I have a duo core processor with 2.0 gb each. I've downloaded the plug in for the camera raw plug-in 5.2 and also deleted the organizer's preferences. Any other suggestions what it could be?

    >difficulty opening.
I do not quite understand what you mean by "diffuculty" so suggest that you be more specific about what happens.
Then also tell us if you have the same results when you select just one jpeg and attempt to go from the Organizer to Full Edit.
Next try editing that same jpeg file by going directly from the Welcome screen to Edit and then use the Editor workspace File menu to open that jpeg file. Post your results.

  • PSE Editor won't open in Windows 7

I just tried to use PSE 7 on my new Dell XPS 9000 with Windows 7 and I receive a message that there is an error. The organizer opens fine. I did click on the icon on properties and tried to change to allow PSE to work but that did no good. So, please keep it simple (I'm simple) and tell me if I have an option to fix 7 to work or am I forced to upgrade to PSE 8? I did try to re-install to no avail. I did not try to re-install by turning off anti-virus as I have read/been suggested. I doubt that would fix the problem. I s everyone, even with PSE 8 having problems right now? If so, and the Forum members do suggest PSE 8, I think I would wait until all the bugs are worked out.

Thanks John.... I did try to install with the antivirus disabled to no avail.
I tried everything you suggested. When trying to open the editor and watching the files load, I get the error warning dialog box when the "twain" files are loading if that means anything. I am downloading the 8 trial version now. Going very slow for an i7 processor. About 1 hr into it with an hour to go! Maybe because this is a busy time of day for Adobe. I did call Adobe but they want to charge to get 7 working. I think that is very unfair considering I did not cause a problem and in my opinion Adobe should have updates to allow 7 to run with Windows 7. They must have a simple fix if they are willing to fix for a price. I have bought Adobe software for years now and I am disappointed at the way they treat their "regular" customers. Any more ideas?  Wonder why some can run PSE7 with no problems and others can't? I did tell you that this is a new Dell XPS 9000 that came with Windows 7 64 bit, didn't I ? Thanks again

  • PSE 7 won't open jpgs

    Hi-
I was having runtime errors as well as "could not complete your request because of a program error" with my PSE 5. I tried everything, even the geek squad and no one could help. I was told to upgrade. Well, I did that, I upgraded to 7 b/c I heard weird/bad things about 8. I have not seen the runtime error so far (it's been 1 day) but I get the "could not complete your request because of a program error" *most* every time I try to open a jpg file. Any ideas? I uninstalled pse 5, I in-reinstalled pse 7 and still nothing has fixed this problem.
    Thanks in advance

Are you using a 64 bit machine? Can you please let m eknow the OS as well?

  • PSE 8 won't open after installing new Wacom tablet

I have a PC that runs on Windows 7. I received my copy of PSE 8 with my Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet around Christmas in 2010, and it's never given me any troubles before. About two weeks ago I purchased a Wacom IntuosPro Pen and Touch, and after installing the drivers, I went to open PSE 8 and it refused to open. There is no error message; it simply doesn't open. I've checked Task Manager and I can't find the application attempting to run there, either.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program about 4 times now. I've uninstalled the Intuos driver completely. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Bamboo driver. I've tried running PSE as an administrator, tried restoring it from a previous version, tried opening it from the file location rather than the desktop shortcut, searched for days online for anyone having a similar problem, and nothing has helped. I have a .psd file that I tried opening, and though PSE attempts to open, ultimately it ends with a screen that says "Adobe has detected that the application Adobe Photoshop Elements has unexpectedly quit", and prompts me to send a crash report.
PSE 8 worked perfectly fine the day before I installed the Intuos. I haven't changed a thing with my computer other than installing the Intuos (which again, is now uninstalled) and everything else works the same. I can't for the life of me figure out what to do.
If you can offer me any advice, I would very much appreciate it! I've been using PSE 8 for years and I love it, and I've loathed the last few days of being unable to use it. Thank you in advance!

ok...update...the editor will now open..but can't get the organizer to open.  it just keeps saying "loading the lements organizer workspace.  Eventually that message disappears, but then nothing happens.

  • PSE 2 won't open on Mac "unexpected and unrecoverable problem"

Got a new PowerBook G4 (Mac OS 10.5.6) and trying to use PSE 2.0 (which worked fine on my older iMac)
When I click the icon it acts like it is going to open but then I get a message saying "an unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occured because of a program error."
    Any thoughts are appreciated.

PSE 2 is, unfortunately, not compatible with leopard. PSE 3, 4, and 6 will work just fine.

  • PSE 8 won't open

Lately PSE has been kicking me off quite frequently. I was using it today and now I just get this message Adobe Photoshop Elements quit unexpectedly and I cannot even get it to open back up.

One thing that often causes this is if you signed up for a photoshop.com account and then don't have an active internet connection when you open PSE, or if there's some glitch at photoshop.com. PSE 8 will hang at the opening screen every time as it tries to connect to photoshop.com. Better to go into the program files and create a shortcut to editor and/or organizer and launch PSE that way if this often happens to you.

  • Install complete, but PSE 12 won't open

I purchased a disc for Photoshop Elements 12.
I installed it on laptop without any problems.
When clicking on desktop shortcut for PSE 12, the program got locked up.
I have a Win 8 system and did the compatibility program for PSE 12.
Now the PSE 12 program opens to the Welcome screen and says that my trial version has ended and I need to buy.
I have registered my product with Adobe and kept the 'sign on' clicked.
But the program keeps telling me that my trial version has ended.
I have searched the forum and see that others are having the same issues, however, there hasn't been any posts on how to fix the problem. Can someone please help?  thank you.

so I contacted Adobe and had them take over screen. two hours later: i am fixed.
files for Adobe Application Manager were corrupt and so he deleted them and updated Adobe Application Manager.
don't you just love all this Adobe stuff?! thanks for the help.
