My PSE 11 trial has expired after 5 days ???
I was under the impression we get 30 days.

Or did you change the system date after installing PSE11.???
This usually happens then.
If you installed PSE11 earlier, and then uninstalled it, and then again reinstalled, the earlier days are counted as well.

PSE trial 12 installed just fine but when i start the editor it opens and shuts down after about 2 seconds without an error, the only thing that appears is a message with 'continue trial'.
I have windows 8.1 64 bit and i already installed the latest video drivers, intel hd 4000 and nvidia geforce 710M.
I also installed premiere elements version 12 with the same problem.
What can be the problem here, please help?

Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

Premiere Elements 10 install require PSE trial to install?

On the Customer Information screen of the Premiere Elements setup there is a check box at the bottom labeled "Install Photoshop Elemtns 10 (Trial)" that is checked, but greyed out so I can't uncheck it. I don't want to install the Photoshop Elements 10 trial because I already have a licensed copy of Photoshop Elements 10 installed. Is there a way to install Premiere Elements 10 without installing the Photoshop Elements 10 trial?
Note that this is not the package that contains both Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10. I purchased both products individually.

Yes. Just install it. It won't overwrite PSE 10.

Question with PSe Trial Version

I have recently installed the trial version (8). I have ran it for a couple days with no problems other than it being particularly slow.
Now though it is crashing to the desktop. I can open to the splash screen. As soon as I try to select Organize or Edit though, the program exits to the desktop.
Is this a known issue? Maybe something specific to the trial version?

Please try few things -
1) Delete PSE preferences and then try launching the application.
2) Try to open a new catalog.

Problem installing PSE trial

I am trying to install the trial version of PSE. I have downloaded both the .7z and .exe files and placed them in the same folder. When I try to install, I receive a message stating that the archive files are missing and I need to download all parts. Any suggestions about what I am doing wrong?

Hi,
Are you double clicking on the exe file to run it?
The smaller exe file is an extracting program that unpacks the contents of the 7z file to another location. The installation should then start from there automatically.

I think that I can help but am definitely going to need more specific information:
1. What version of Photoshop Elements and or Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running?
2. If you go to Help Menu/Updates in either the Photoshop Elements Full Editor or Premiere Elements workspace, are there any updates waiting for you?
3. When you attempt to do the Help Menu/Updates, are you getting an error messages relating to Servers or other?
4. What do you want to do with the raw file that you intend to use with an Elements program:?
a. Edit in the Camera Raw Dialog in accessed from Photoshop Elements?
b. Import a raw or dng image into Premiere Elements for media purposes, not editing in the Camera Raw dialog?
5. From what camera are these camera raw files coming?
The answers to all of the above are expected to resolve the matter for you.

Can not install trial PSE6 on Mac 10.5.6

I have downloaded the trial version, but everytime I try to install it, it gets to the end of the process and I get the following message:
Successfully installed: 1 component
Shared components
Errors: 2 components
Adobe Photoshop Elements/component install failed
Shared components/component install failed.
I tried to install on an external drive as well and found Bridge CS3 and Stock Photos CS3 in the folder.
I had installed a trial of CS3 sometime ago, but did not go ahead with it. There is nothing in any folder relating to PSE or CS3 that I can find. Any suggestions? Roger

Well, I'm pretty sure that at this point you may not be able to install the trial at all, since they're set up to think you're cheating on the 30 day limit if you try an uninstall/reinstall. The problem is the PS trial you had before. What you need to do is to download and run this:

to remove the last bits of the CS3 trial before installing PSE 6. It won't hurt to try it, but whether you'll be able to run the PSE trial will depend on how far the installer got the first time, I'm afraid.

PSE 6 Mac

I have a friend who bought PSE 6 Mac, and has been told by Apple that she cannot install it on her computer. (Apple says there is a technical problem.) She is thoroughly discouraged. This is the most I know about her computer: She has a G4 and runs 10.4.something. I find it hard to believe that PSE 6 cannot be installed on her computer. Does Apple know what it is talking about?

I tried doing cleanscript with level 1 y after all I couldnt install PSE again. I had also PSE trial before this installation try. Do you think if i do cleanscript with level 2, this will delete other programs?

Putting a second copy of my PSE 9 on another personal mac computer

I have PSE 9 on one of my macs. I want to put it on the other. This is strictly for personal use and I would not be using both at the same time... so I understand the license allows this. How do I actually put it on the second computer?

You can try downloading the PSE trial from adobe and entering your serial number. In the future when you buy a software download it's alway preferable to save the original download file in case you need to reinstall.

PE8 Trial Download Problems

I downloaded PE8 and PSE trial Downloads on to my desktop computer and found that my hardware was not sufficient to run the software. I then decided to try again with my laptop so I downloaded PSE with no trouble. I should be so lucky with PE8. No, I have tried three times. The first time I later realized that my machine needed some updating so I updated and tried again. The next time a folder was made but after there was nothing in the folder. Same thing happened the third time around. There were no errors or anything out of the ordinary with the exception that the folder was empty. Any thoughts?

Some folk have had issues with the downloads, but most of those were either with their browsers, or things like their AV and pop-up blockers. Since you got both to download before, and got PSE to download now, I'd not suspect that you are having issues with either your browser, or with AV/pop-up blocking, but you can check those things out.
Given the timing, and the fact that the Adobe.com site has been undergoing general maintenance, along with the forum servers, AND PrE 8.0.1 has been released, my guess would be that either the maintenance, or maybe an updated download file, is getting in the way. As far as I know, the patch is only available via AutoUpdater, but I'm sure that Adobe is working on a downloadable patch, and is probably updating the trial of PrE 8 also. I'd give Adobe just a bit of time. Let them get the site back up 100% and then check to see if the trial might have also been updated. Were I Adobe, I would likely have pulled the trial, until it could be patched to 8.0.1. Remember, that is but a guess.

Trial serial number

Shouldn't I receive a serial number with the PSE trial version?

But when i try to download PDFs that i have purchased, the screen still pops up asking me to enter serial number for PSE. Help! I am a teacher and just spent money on some downloadable images for my classroom only to not be able to download and print any of them.

How do you do dual boot without Dual activation for CS3?

I know this has been discussed but I can't find the post called Daryl Pritchard, "Activating CS3 with both Vista and XP Pro on same system" #3, 21 May 2007 12:49 am . That link seems to be dead.
I'm slow to make the switch, but I'm planning to install Vista on the same box I've had XP Pro on. I have a LOT of software on this box (it normally takes 34 hours to install everything from scratch) including VIsual Studio (2003, 2005, 2008), Lotus Notes designer (R6.5, R8), 3D Studio Max, etc. etc. etc. I'm not ready to flip the switch and just run the Vista upgrade. I want to dual boot with XP on one partition and Vista on the other, so that I can boot to XP if something doesn't seem to be running correctly under Vista.
Here is my dilemna. I also have Photoshop CS3 installed on my laptop, and I need it there because I travel every few weeks and still have to manipulate images. I'd like to avoid deactivating licenses everytime I get on a plane or drive across town. I don't want to have to use up both of my "activations" when I'm staying within the intent of the Eula - it's only going to be used on one machine.
How has everyone else faced this challenge? I know there are plenty of people with dual boot set ups.
I'll deactivate Photoshop on XP Pro if I have to, but that's going to be a headache if I have to turn on the laptop everytime I work in XP on the desktop and need to modify a PSD image.

I believe you can only deactivate/activate 20 times, precisely to keep
people from swapping the two licenses amongst more than 2 computers, so
deactivating on your travel-computer will only work for the next few times
you do it.
Depending on what things you do to your images, you might be able to get by
with using Elements to work with the PSDs. The newer versions of Elements
lets you work with Layers so it may be ok. Install the PSE trial and see
how well it works.
If you must have Photoshop, and one copy needs to be on your laptop, then
you must choose dual-boot you want to use it on, and perhaps install the
trial on the other bootable partition and if it works fine for everything,
and at the end of 30-days, choose which one to keep activated, or decide
that you can upgrade your XP. I think you should attempt to upgrade it,
anyway, just to see if it's even possible. I think you can uninstall the
upgrade if you do it right away, and get back to your XP...I had to do that
when my graphics card refused to work, even though the Vista Upgrade Advisor
didn't complain. Installing Vista from scratch seemed to work. I just
bought a new HD and reinstalled everything.
Another thing to consider is that Windows 7 will be available for retail
purchase before Halloween and people like it better than Vista as far as
running things faster, so maybe just skip Vista. The only glitch I had was
having to uninstall Nero's packet-writing (CDRW as a floppy) software after
I upgraded to Vista and it didn't quite work and I had to use a Nero-clean
utility to get rid of it. It isn't compatible with Win7 and I could have
gotten around the problem by merely uninstalling Nero before upgrading and
putting it back, afterwards. I have an older version of Nero was my actual
problem.
I am running the Win 7 Ultimate RTM from my MSDN subscription and like it a
lot...more transparency and they finally combined the quick-links with the
actual task-bar so you can just pin things down there and they are
highlighted if they're running or not highlighted if not--sort of like a Mac
has been doing for a while, but with much smaller icons if you want.

Using Photoshop Elements as external editor with Aperture 3: What are issues with requiring 8-bit image?

While I would do most of my photo edits with Aperture there may be times I would like to do special effects that a PSE might offer with layers. I am considering purchasing PSE 10 and was concerned with having to lose information by saving as an 8-bit image. Can anyone enlighten me of the circumstances when this would be of concern?

Before buying PSE trial Pixelmator and try GIMP. Note that GIMP (now v2.6) will have 16-bit per channel with v3.0.

Ability to frame a photograph

Hi Adobe,
The ability to frame a photograph or graphic is not in either Photoshop CS4 or CS5. However in Photoshop Elements it is there. PS would be a much stronger program if there were such an ability to either fram in PS or there be another edition in the furture which would incorporate the great graphics abilities of PS and the awsome premade frames and the framing abilitiy found in PSE. Please consider that for one of your next versions. Thank you very muxh.

Thia ia onw od rhw phoroa in the sample photos in Windows 7. It is partially framed using a PSE trial.
The photo at the left was taken by my brother at our home and also framed using PSE 8 truak, However this time it was fully framed using a premade green frame. Does this help?
